3상 복합재의 등가열전도계수 예측에 대한 연구 (Analytical Study on Effective Thermal Conductivity of Three-Phase Composites)

  • 2상 복합재에 적용되어오던 수정된 Eshelby 모델(MEM)을 두 종류의 구형 입자를 포함하는 3상 복합재로 확장하여 복합재의 등가열전도계수를 간단히 양함수 형태로 표시한다. 이의 유효성 검증을 위해 이 결과를 미소등가물모델(DEMM)로 구한 결과와 비교하고, 또 참고문헌의 2상 및 3상 복합재의 실험결과와 비교한다. 2상 복합재의 경우 MEM이 충전재의 체적비 0.5 미만에서는 DEMM보다 잘 예측한다. 3상 복합재의 경우 모재 대비 큰 열전도계수비를 갖는 충전재의 체적비가 적은 경우 MEM이 잘 예측하나, 체적비가 증가할수록 DEMM이 잘 예측한다. 이 체적비가 두 모델의 예측결과에 결정적 영향을 주는 인자임이 변수들의 영향 연구를 통해 밝혀졌으며, Molina 등이 제안한 3상 복합재에 대해 MEM과 DEMM은 동등한 예측 수준을 보였다.

In vitro maturation using αMEM with reduced NaCl enhances maturation and developmental competence of pig oocytes after somatic cell nuclear transfer

  • Background: Compared to medium containing 108 mM sodium chloride (NaCl), in vitro maturation (IVM) using a simple medium with reduced (61.6 mM) NaCl increases the cytoplasmic maturation and embryonic development of pig oocytes. Objectives: This study determines the effect of a complex medium containing reduced NaCl on the IVM and embryonic development of pig oocytes. Methods: Pig oocytes were matured in Minimum Essential Medium Eagle-alpha modification (αMEM) supplemented with 61.6 (61αMEM) or 108 (108αMEM) mM NaCl, and containing polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) (αMEMP) or pig follicular fluid (PFF) (αMEMF). Medium-199 (M199) served as the control for conventional IVM. Cumulus cell expansion, nuclear maturation, intra-oocyte glutathione (GSH) contents, size of perivitelline space (PVS), and embryonic development after parthenogenesis (PA) and somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) were evaluated after IVM. Results: Regardless of PVA or PFF supplementation, oocytes matured in 61αMEM showed increased intra-oocyte GSH contents and width of PVS (p < 0.05), as well as increased blastocyst formation (p < 0.05) after PA and SCNT, as compared to oocytes matured in 108αMEMP and M199. Under conditions of PFF-enriched αMEM, SCNT oocytes matured in 61αMEMF showed higher blastocyst formation (p < 0.05), compared to maturation in 108αMEMF and M199, whereas PA cultured oocytes showed no significant difference. Conclusions: IVM in αMEM supplemented with reduced NaCl (61.6 mM) enhances the embryonic developmental competence subsequent to PA and SCNT, which attributes toward improved oocyte maturation.

마우스에서 배반포 형성, 세포 수 및 ICM의 비율에 미치는 배양액의 효과 (Effects of Medium on Blastocyst Formation, Cell Number and Percentage of ICM in Mice)

  • Objective : The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of different media on blastulation, mean cell number, percentage of inner cell mass (ICM) of total cells and ICM : trophectoderm (TE) ratio in mice. Materials and methods: A total 552 two cell embryos were retrieved from ICR female mice (4 weeks old) at 48 hr after hCG injection (mated just after hCG injection) and cultured in MEM (n=276) or TCM (n=276) supplemented with 20% hFF. The grading of blastocysts from zona-intact (ZiB) to -escape (hatching and hatched, ZeB) was performed at 72 hours after culture. Total, TE and ICM cell numbers were analyzed by differential staining of blastocyst. Statistical analysis was performed using t-test with SigmaPlot-2001. P-values < 0.05 were accepted as statistically significant. Results: The blastulation rate in MEM ($64.9{\pm}4.95%$) was significantly higher (p=0.0031) than that in TCM ($57.2{\pm}5.22%$). No differences were found in the number of ZiB and ZeB between MEM ($31.9{\pm}2.62$, $33.0{\pm}4.58%$), and TCM ($27.2{\pm}4.28$, $30.1{\pm}4.58%$). A total 314 blastocysts (MEM=166; TCM=148) were stained differentially. Mean cell number of blastocysts was significantly higher (p=0.0002) in TCM ($73.1{\pm}3.3$) than in MEM ($61.7{\pm}2.5$). Differential staining was successfully performed in 155 blastocysts (MEM=77; TCM=78). The percentage of ICM was significantly higher in MEM than in TCM ($20.9{\pm}1.3$ vs. $17.1{\pm}1.2%$, p=0.0281). The ICM : TE ratio was higher in TCM than in MEM (1 : $4.85{\pm}0.68$ vs. 1 : $3.78{\pm}0.78$, NS). Conclusion: These results show that MEM increase the blastocyst formation and percentage of ICM of total cells comparing with TCM in mice.

스마트 메모리 태그를 위한 Touch & Play 기반 저전력 소모 관리 기법 (A Low Power Consumption Management Scheme Based on Touch & Play for Smart Memory Tags)

  • QR/NFC tags have been utilized in various fields like exhibition, museum, and so on, but they have a drawback that they are read-only fundamentally. We devise a novel device called a smart memory tag (below mem-tag) which is supplemented with the write function through combining a flash memory into a NFC tag. A mem-tag is composed of an NFC tag, an MCU, a flash memory, a bluetooth module, and a battery, and is inter-operating with smartphones via bluetooth communication. It can be used in a bulletin board to support writing replies and in a check-in service to verify the presence of the site. What matters is that users' inter-operations are borne to be asynchronous, which leads to the energy consumption to wait for users' actions. Sleep mechanisms and asynchronous MAC protocols used in ubiquotous sensor networks cannot avoid the consumption of battery. In this paper, we propose a touch and play scheme for minimizing the consumption of battery that the MCU wakes up and PLAY when a user TOUCH the mem-tag. We implemented the system to show that our scheme lets the mem-tag work 50 times longer than the sleep and wake-up scheme.

Monte Carlo burnup and its uncertainty propagation analyses for VERA depletion benchmarks by McCARD

  • For an efficient Monte Carlo (MC) burnup analysis, an accurate high-order depletion scheme to consider the nonlinear flux variation in a coarse burnup-step interval is crucial accompanied with an accurate depletion equation solver. In a Seoul National University MC code, McCARD, the high-order depletion schemes of the quadratic depletion method (QDM) and the linear extrapolation/quadratic interpolation (LEQI) method and a depletion equation solver by the Chebyshev rational approximation method (CRAM) have been newly implemented in addition to the existing constant extrapolation/backward extrapolation (CEBE) method using the matrix exponential method (MEM) solver with substeps. In this paper, the quadratic extrapolation/quadratic interpolation (QEQI) method is proposed as a new high-order depletion scheme. In order to examine the effectiveness of the newly-implemented depletion modules in McCARD, four problems in the VERA depletion benchmarks are solved by CEBE/MEM, CEBE/CRAM, LEQI/MEM, QEQI/MEM, and QDM for gadolinium isotopes. From the comparisons, it is shown that the QEQI/MEM predicts ${k_{inf}}^{\prime}s$ most accurately among the test cases. In addition, statistical uncertainty propagation analyses for a VERA pin cell problem are conducted by the sensitivity and uncertainty and the stochastic sampling methods.

ON THE MONOTONICITY OF THE DITTERT FUNCTION ON CLASSES OF NONNEGATIVE MATRICES

  • In this paper, we study the monotonicity of the Dittert function (abb. MD) on the line segment from A .mem. $K_{n}$ to J$_{n}$ generalizing both the Dittert conjecture and the Monotonicity conjecture for permanent, and obtain a sufficient condition on A .mem. $K_{n}$ for which the MD holds. It is also proved that if A .mem. $K_{n}$ satisfies the Dokovic inequality (1.2) then MD holds for A, and a subclass of $K_{n}$ for which MD holds is found. is found.

  • MEMS(Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems)는 전기적인 구성요소와 기계적인 구성요소를 작게 조합하여 구성한 소자나 시스템을 말한다. RF(Radio Frequency) MEMS는 MEMS를 이용한 RF 소자나 시스템을 의미하며, 본 고에서는 RF 소자에 대하여 논의하고자 한다. MEMS는 RF 소자의 성능, 기능, 집적화 등을 높여 주고, 크기, 가격, 부피, 전력 소모 등을 낮추어 주므로 소자 개발에 대한 연구는 매우 다양하지만, 본 고에서는 움직이는 소자 중에서 가장 많이 연구되고 있는 mechanical RF switch에 대하여 중점적으로 다루고자 한다. 이에 대한 연구 동향, 특성, 응용 분야 등을 살펴보고, 상품으로서의 가치를 인정 받기 위하여 고려해야 할 점들을 논의 하겠다.

On Alternative Collinearity Diagnostics in Linear MEM

  • Collinearities contained in MEM cause the same problems as they do in traditional regression model, so the detection of collinearities is a crucial topic in MEM. One diagnostic was introduced by Carrillo-Gamboa and Gunst, but their method did not work in some cases. Two alternative collinearity diagnostics that provide reasonable measure of collinearities are proposed. Simulation study is performed to compare the small-sample properties of the proposed collinearity diagnostics.
