In this paper, the stability requirements for diagrid and mega braced structures are examined. The role of the secondary bracing system for the stability of a diagrid structure is discussed. A simple procedure is proposed for the design of the secondary bracing system when it is required. As a case study, the design of the Hearst Tower diagrid and its secondary bracing system are presented.

근년에 이르러 waste oil의 문제는 그 어느 때보다도 양이나 종류에 있어서 과거에 볼 수 없었던 만큼 심각한 양상을 나타내고 있다. 1992년도 한해동안 세계적으로 발생된 바 있는 폐윤활유의 양은 약 23,200 mega liter로 추정되고 있으며, 재정제에 의하여 recycle된 oil은 각국에 따라 차이점은 있으나 대략 수요량의 2~3%로서 이들의 합계량은 약 1,890 mega liter로 추정되고 있다. 한편 우리나라 waste oil의 발생량인 경우, 통계가 명확하지는 않지만 1993년도 한해동안 약 75만톤에 이를 것으로 추정되고 있는가 하면, 이 중 특정폐기물로 분류되고 있는 자동차용 폐윤활유에 있어서는 약 18만톤이 발생된 바 있다. 본 기고에서는 각종 폐유 중 특정폐기물인 폐윤활유를 중심으로한 제목건에 대하여 간략하게 기술하기로 하겠다.

본 논문에서는 Mega-Function System Integration을 추구하는 SOP기술의 필요성과 10가지 요소기술에 대하여 개략적으로 언급하였고, SOP 기술은 SOC, SIP 및 기타 부품 집적기술과는 경쟁관계가 아닌 융합 발전할 수 있는 기술이 라는 점을 강조하였다. 또한, System Level Integration 을 위한 SOP 요소기술들은 단순히 부품 혹은 Module level에 필요한Design, 공정, 재료기술만이 아니라, System의 전반적인 차원에서 분석, 해결되어야 하는 것을 알 수 있겠다. 따라서, 이제는 모든 요소기술을 종합적, 유기적으로 개발할 수 있는 연구개발전략이 매우 중요한 과제이다.

메가 스포츠 이벤트(Mega Sports Event, MSE)는 방대한 수의 내방객, 스펙터클한 미디어 캠페인, 대규모 투자와 지역 인프라 혁신을 특징으로 하는 스포츠 대회이다. 본 논문에서는 MSE에서 다루는 서비스를 살펴보고 향후의 경기장에서의 ICT(정보통신기술)의 역할을 기술한다. ICT는 경기장을 찾는 관람객의 방문동기를 최대한 충족하는 익스피어런스를 제공하도록 활용되어야 한다. 이를 위한 ICT 익스피어런스 프레임워크를 제안한다.
