  • 2-Chloro-N6-(3-iodobenzyl)-adenosine-5'-methylcarboxamide (2-CI-IB-MECA) has been recognized to be one of the most selective agonists (Ki = 1.0 nM) for rat adenosine A3 receptor. On the basis of the high binding affinity of 2-CI-IB-MECA to adenosine A3 receptor. it was interesting to find out whether 2'- and/or 3'-hydroxyl group of 2-CI-IB-MECA is essential for the binding affinity to the receptor. • Since adenosine A3 receptor has been cloned from rat brain. a number of compounds have been synthesized and evaluated for the binding affinity to this receptor. Among these. 2-chloro-N6-(3-iodobenzyl)-adenosine-5'-methylcarboxamide (2-CI-IB-MECA) has been found to be one of the most selective agonists (Ki = 1.0 nM) for rat adenosine A3 receptor. • The methanol extract of stem barks of Careya arborea Roxb. (MECA) (Family- Myrtaceae) was evaluated for antitumor activity and antioxidant status against Ehrlich's Ascites Carcinoma (EAC) bearing Swiss albino mice. After 24 h of tumor inoculation the MECA was administered at the doses of 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg body weight/mice/day for 14 days. After the last dose and 18 h fasting mice were sacrificed. The effect of MECA on the growth of transplantable murine tumor, life span of EAC bearing hosts, hematological profiles, serum and liver biochemical parameters were estimated. The MECA showed significant (P < 0.01) decrease in ascites volume, packed cell volume and viable cell count and prolonged the life span of EAC tumor bearing mice. Hematological profiles reverted to more or less normal levels in extract treated mice. The MECA also produced protective effect by decreasing the activity of serum enzymes, bilirubin and increase the protein and uric acid levels. MECA significantly (P < 0.05) decreased the levels of lipid peroxidation, while significantly (P < 0.05) increased the levels of glutathione content, vitamin C, vitamin E, superoxide dismutase and catalase CAT. The results indicate that MECA exhibited significant antitumor and antioxidant activity in EAC bearing mice.

  • Recently there are operating the Floating Vessel with the positioning control unit in ocean. This technology is not open to industrial society as exclusive one. In order to improve technical competition for its domestic product. It is required to develope the relevant product like above subject. This system consist of DGPS System, Unique Analysis, System Network, and Mooring System and so on. Accordingly Model/Field test were carried out to verify its Function / Performance for application of practical product. In this development, we have prepared the successful result to operate the speedy / accurate / stable unit as shown on this subject 'Development of Positioning Control System for Ship and Offshore using the DGPS'. And also it is expected to install this product for ship and offshore unit.

  • Many port states such as New Zealand, the USA, Australia and Canada have strict regulations to prevent ships which arrive in their port from discharging polluted ballast water which contain harmful aquatic organisms and pathogens. They are notified that transfer of polluted ballast water can cause serious injury to public health and damage to property and environment. For this reason, they perceived that the ballast exchange in deep sea is the most effective method, together with submitting the ballast management plan which contains the effective exchange method, ballast system and safety consideration. In this study, we make an effort to develop optimum ballast water exchange management and in result of that, it provide more convenient and stable process for preparing ballast water management plan.

  • Ail of the world, unification and extension of market enlarged scale of international commerce. Thus, not only production but also circulation of goods is brought into relief and transportation of most freights is performed using container. Container vessels are equipped with marry kinds of securing equipments such as Lashing, twistlock. Lashing is installed mainly in container vessel for the container stack with more than 3 containers. Damage of containers often arise from irrelevant lashing arrangement and bring economical loss. Much time and cost is requested for the Calculation of forces on container and determination of lashing arrangement In this study, We developed lashing analysis simulator which performs calculation and presenst relevant lashing arrangement. It will provide more convenient and efficient environment for lashing analysis.

  • Homologated analogues 3a and 3b of potent and selective A3 adenosine receptor ligands, IB-MECA and dimethyl-IB-MECA were synthesized from commercially available 1-O-acetyl-2,3,5-tri-O-benzoyl-${\beta}$-D-ribofuranose (4) via $Co_2(CO)_8$-catalyzed siloxymethylation as a key step. Unfortunately, homologated analogues 3a and 3b did not show significant binding affinities at three subtypes of adenosine receptors, indicating that free rotation, resulting from homologation, induced unfavorable interactions in the binding site of the receptor maybe due to the presence of many conformations.

  • The effectiveness of an innovative skin treatment system that delivers an anti-aging solution deep into the skin without invasiveness and pain using a non-invasive air technology was investigated. In addition, an effective change using a non-invasive technique for delivering a solution for skin improvement was confirmed. The equipment named Cellre Jet is an effective skin care and drug delivery equipment that instantly opens the skin epidermis by using a maximum output pressure of 6 bars and high-pressure purified oxygen of 75-90% purity to deliver various nano-sized vital substances deep into the skin, and it uses the method of precisely controlling the equipment through an 8-inch digital touch display to accurately dispense the prescribed dosage. In this study, changes in skin condition were analyzed using this equipment and nano ampoules on subjects with actual skin problems through a related comparison and effectiveness judgment program. Through this study, skin care and drug delivery are possible, which will contribute to verifying the effectiveness of this non-invasive drug delivery equipment in the future, and is expected to establish the systematic effect in observing and studying changes in the skin.

  • A statistical evaluation method was proposed to evaluate mechanical properties by using small specimens and nano-indentation for irradiation study. The method is empirically based on nano-indentation which values are statistically treated. The nano-indentation in function of indentation depth (h) is expressed using the variation factor V(h). Statistical parameters of the indentation are given by histograms. Analytical and experimental relation between histograms of phase dimension distribution and parameters V(h) and G(h) is considered using the condition of additivity of phases' microhardness. The method is applied to estimate mechanical properties of irradiated materials.
