Properties of Infrared Detector and Growth for HgCdTe Epilayers

  • [ $Hg_{1-x}Cd_xTe$ ] (MCT) was grown by hot wall epitaxy method. Prior to the MCT growth, the CdTe (111) buffer layer was grown on the GaAs substrate at the temperature of 590 C for 15 min. When the thickness of the CdTe buffer layer was 5 m or thicker, the full width at half maximum values obtained from the x-ray rocking curves were found to significantly decrease. After a good quality CdTe buffer layer was grown, the MCT epilayers were grown on the CdTe (111) /GaAs substrate at various temperature in situ. The crystal quality for those epilayers was investigated by means of the x-ray rocking curves and the photocurrent experiment. The photoconductor characterization for the epilayers was also measured. The energy band gap of MCT was determined from the photocurrent measurement and the x composition rates from the temperature dependence of the energy band gap were turned out.

중쇄(中鎖)와 장쇄지방(長鎖脂肪) 식이(食餌)가 Cholesterol급여(給與) 흰쥐의 혈청지질(血淸脂質)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effect of Medium and Long Chain Triglyceride Diet on the Serum Lipids of Rats Fed with Cholesterol)

  • Because of its more complete hydrolysis and rapid absorption, MCT is expected its usefulness in the diets of patients with malabsorption syndrom. Also, several authors reported that serum cholesterol level was lower after MCT feedings. In this study, rate of each experimental group were fed for 4weeks with 20% MCT, 20% corn oil, mixed diet of 10% MCT and 10% corn oil, mixed diet of 17% corn oil and 3% shortening. After experimental diet, it was measured to growth rate and serum cholesterol, triglyceride and phospholipid level. The results were as follows; 1. The body weight gain was the lowest in MCT group and others were lower than control group. 2. Serum total cholesterol level was the lowest in corn oil group and others were significantly lower than control group. Free cholesterol level was lower in all experimental groups than control group too. 3. Serum HDL-cholesterol level was significantly higher in all experimental groups than control group. 4. The ratio of VLDL, LDL-Cholesterol to HDL-Cholesterol was significantly lower in all experimental groups than control group. 5. Serum triglyceride level was higher in all experimental groups than control group. Serum phospholipid level was significantly in only mixed diet group of corn oil and shortening than control group. 6. The ratio of total cholesterol to phospholipid was significantly lower in corn oil diet group than control group.

  • This study was carried out to demonstrate the effects of oral administration of DA-8159. a selective phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitor. on development of pulmonary hypertension induced by monocrotaline (MCT). MCT-treated rats(60mg/kg) were divided into three groups and orally administered vehicle, 1 mg/kg or 5 mg/kgg of DA-8159 twice a day for 3 weeks. Increased right ventricular weights, medial wall thickening in pulmonary arteries. myocardial fibrosis, decrease of plasma cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) level and body weight gains were shown in MCT group. Diagnostic imaging findings of subcutaneous mast cell tumor in a dog

  • A 5-year-old Labrador Retriever presented with a subcutaneous mass on the right scapular region with localized calor. On magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), a heterogeneously hypointense mass was seen on T1-weighted images (WI) and hyperintense on T2WI and fat-suppressed T2WI with marginal contrast enhancement on postcontrast T1WI and invasion into the surrounding tissue. Histopathological examination of the mass confirmed subcutaneous mast cell tumor (MCT) infiltrating to the adjacent subcutaneous fat. This is the first report to describe the MRI findings of subcutaneous MCT in veterinary medicine. This study suggests that MRI may help evaluate the extent of invasion of subcutaneous MCT.

  • 최근 들어 양자 논리 회로의 저비용 실현 가능성을 가진 $NCV-{\mid}v_1$ >라이브러리라 불리는 새로운 종류의 양자 게이트가 주목을 받고 있다. $NCV-{\mid}v_1$ > MCT 게이트는 입력부에 타깃 입력을 제어하는 $CV-{\mid}v_1$ > 게이트와 정크 비트 제거를 위한 수반 게이트의 종속 AND 구조를 갖는다. 본 논문은 $NCV-{\mid}v_1$ >라이브러리에 대응하는 대칭적 쌍대 특성을 갖는 $NCV^{\dag}-{\mid}v_1$ >라이브러리라 불리는 새로운 게이트를 제안한다. 새로운 $NCV^{\dag}-{\mid}v_1$ >라이브러리는 특정 조건에서 OR 논리로 작동한다. $NCV-{\mid}v_1$ >라이브러리와 $NCV^{\dag}-{\mid}v_1$ >라이브러리를 함께 사용하면 MPMCT 게이트와 SOP 및 POS형 양자논리 회로의 저비용 실현이 가능하며, 순방향과 역방향 연산에 대한 상이한 연산 속성 때문에 듀얼 게이트 성질이 기대된다.

Monocrotaline으로 유발한 백서 폐동맥 고혈압에서 Endothelin 수용체 차단제 투여의 효과 (Effect of endothelin receptor blockade on monocrotaline-induced pulmonary hypertension in rats)

  • 목 적 : 폐동맥 고혈압은 지속적인 폐혈관 저항의 증가로 우심실 부전에 이르게 되는 질병 상태를 일컫는다. 폐동맥 고혈압의 기전으로 폐혈관의 내피세포로부터 endothelin 분비가 증가되어 세포 증식 촉진, 세포 자멸 억제, 혈관 수축, 염증 반응을 통해 폐혈관의 재형성에 관여함이 제시되었다. Bosentan은 endothelin 수용체에 결합하여 효과를 차단시키는 약물로 개발되었다. 이에 monocrotaline으로 폐고혈압을 유발시킨 동물에서 non-selective endothelin receptor blocker인 bosentan을 투여하였을 때 폐동맥 고혈압 발생에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 본 연구를 시행하였다. 방 법 : 체중 250 g 내외의 4주령 가량 된 자성 Sprague-Dawley 백서를 대조군, monocrotaline군, bosentan군으로 나누었다. Monocrotaline군과 bosentan군에는 monocrotaline 수용액 60 mg/kg를 배부에 1회 피하 주사하고 대조군에는 동량의 생리식염수를 주사하였다. Bosentan군에는 bosentan ($20mg{\cdot}kg^{-1}{\cdot}day^{-1}$)을 monocrotaline 투여 직후부터 매일 1일 2회 위관 영양법으로 투여하였다. 7일, 14일, 28일에 각각 동물을 희생시켜 심장의 무게를 우심실벽, 좌심실벽, 심실간벽으로 나누어 기관의 무게를 측정하고 조직 검사를 위해 양측 폐를 포르말린 수용액에 고정하였다. 결 과 : 7일, 14일, 28일째 평균 체중은 대조군에 비해 monocrotaline군과 bosentan군이 유의하게 적었다. 우심실/(좌심실+심실간벽)의 무게 비율은 28일째 monocrotaline군($0.71{\pm}0.10mg/g$)에 비해 bosentan군($0.49{\pm}0.09mg/g$)이 유의하게 적었다(P<0.05). 폐세동맥의 조직형태학적 분석 결과 실험 28일째 monocrotaline투여에 의해 유발된 중막 비후 소견이 bosentan 투여에 의해 현저하게 저하된 것으로 나타났다(monocrotaline군 $49.94{\pm}10.06$ vs bosentan군 $47.09{\pm}10.48$, P<0.05). 또한 호흡성 세기관지 이하의 폐포에 분포하는 근육성 폐세동맥의 숫자도 monocrotaline 투여에 의해 증가되었으나 14, 28일째 bosentan군에서는 현저하게 적은 것으로 나타났다. 결 론 : Monocrotaline으로 유도한 백서의 폐고혈압에서 bosentan을 투여하고 초기 경과를 관찰한 결과, 2주째부터 우심실 비대가 억제되었고 4주 이내 사망률도 낮아 endothelin receptor에 대한 길항 작용의 효과로 해석될 수 있겠다.

만성폐쇄성폐질환과 천식의 감별진단에서 메타콜린 기관지유발검사의 의의 (Clinical Significance of Methacholine Bronchial Challenge Test in Differentiating Asthma From COPD)

  • 연구배경: COPD 환자에서 천식을 동반한 환자들이 많이 있다고 보고 되어 있었고 기관지 과민성이 높은 비율로 보고되어 메타콜린 기관지유발검사가 이두 질환을 감별에 어떤 의의가 있는지 알아보았고, 치료에 대한 도움을 얻고자 연구하였다. 방 법: 전북대학교병원에서 2004년 1월부터 2004년 12월까지 메타콜린 기관지유발검사를 시행한 환자를 대상으로 전향적으로 연구하였다. 65명의 천식환자 23명의 COPD환자, 대조군에서 메타콜린 기관지유발검사를 분석하였다. 결 과: 각 군의 $PC_{20}$의 평균값은 천식군, COPD군 및 대조군에서 각각 $8.1{\pm}1.16$, $16.9{\pm}2.21$$22.0{\pm}1.47mg/mL$이고, 천식군, COPD군 및 대조군의 메타콜린 기관지유발검사의 양성율은 각각 65%, 30%와 9%였다. 메타콜린 기관지유발검사 양성 판정 기준을 $PC_{20}$ 16 mg/mL 이하로 가정할 때 천식군과 COPD군의 양성율은 80%와 30%이었고 민감도, 특이도, 양성예측률 및 음성예측률은 각각 80%, 75%, 78%와 78%였다. 결 론: 메타콜린 기관지유발검사의 양성기준을 $PC_{20}{\leq}16mg/mL$으로 하였을 때 천식 및 COPD가 동반된 천식과 순수한 COPD의 감별에 보다 많은 도움을 줄 것으로 예상되며 궁극적으로 COPD 환자들에게 보다 개별적이고 적절한 치료적 접근에 도달할 수 있도록 해주는 진단 방법 중 하나가 될 수 있다고 생각한다.

In Vitro Stability of β-galactosidase Microcapsules

  • The present study was carried out to examine the efficiency of microcapsules and a stability of lactase in vitro in the simulated gastric and intestinal conditions. As a coating materials, medium-chain triacylglycerol (MCT) and polyglycerol monostearate (PGMS) were used. The highest efficiency of microencapsulation was found in the ratio of 15:1 as coating to core material with both MCT (91.5%) and PGMS (75.4%). In a subsequent experiment, lactose content was measured to study a microcapsule stability. Lysis of microcapsules made by MCT in simulated gastric fluid was proportionally increased such as 3% in pH 5 and 11% in pH 2 for 20 min incubation. In the case of PGMS microcapsulation, 11-13% of lactose was hydrolyzed at 20 min in all pHs and also very little amount (less than 3%) of lactose was hydrolyzed after 20 min in all pHs. The highest percentages of lactose hydrolysis in MCT and PGMS microcapsules were 68.8 and 60.8% in pHs 7 and 8 during 60 min, respectively. Based on our data, the lactase microcapsules seemed to be stable when they stay in the stomach, and hydrolyzed rapidly in small intestine where the bile acid was excreted.

전력용 사이리스터 MCT를 이용한 무접점 직류차단기 (Contactless DC Circuit Breakers Using MOS-controlled Thyristors)

  • Circuit breakers have traditionally employed mechanical methods to interrupt excessive currents. According to power semiconductor technology advances in power electronic device, some mechanical breakers are replaced with solid state equivalents. Advantages of the contactors using semiconductor devices include faster fault interrupting, fault current limiting, no arc to contain or extinguish and intelligent power control, and high reliability. This paper describes the design of a static $100{\pm}10%V$ and 0 to 50A DC self-protected contactor with 85A "magnetic tripping" and 100A interruption current at $2.2A/{\mu}s$ short circuit of load condition using a new power device the HARRIS MCT (600V-75A). The self-protection circuit of this system is designed by the classical ZnO varistor for energy absorption and turn-off snubber circuit ("C" or "RCD") of the MCT.

The Microencapsulated Ascorbic Acid Release in vitro and Its Effect on Iron Bioavailability

  • The present study was carried out to examine the stability of microencapsulated ascorbic acid in simulated-gastric and intestinal situation in vitro and the effect of microencapsulated ascorbic acid on iron bioavailability. Coating materials used were polyglycerol monostearate (PGMS) and medium-chain triacylglycerol (MCT), and core materials were L-ascorbic acid and ferric ammonium sulfate. When ascorbic acid was microencapsulated by MCT, the release of ascorbic acid was 6.3% at pH 5 and 1.32% at pH 2 in simulated-gastric fluids during 60 min. When ascorbic acid was microencapsulated by PGMS, the more ascorbic acid was released in the range of 9.5 to 16.0%. Comparatively, ascorbic acid release increased significantly as 94.7% and 83.8% coated by MCT and PGMS, respectively, for 60 min incubation in simulated-intestinal fluid. In the subsequent study, we tested whether ascorbic acid enhanced the iron bioavailability or not. In results, serum iron content and transferring saturation increased dramatically when subjects consumed milks containing both encapsulated iron and encapsulated ascorbic acid, compared with those when consumed uncapsulated iron or encapsulated iron without ascorbic acid. Therefore, the present data indicated that microencapsulated ascorbic acid with both PGMS and MCT were effective means for fortifying ascorbic acid into milk and for enhancing the iron bioavailability.
