  • 원자력병원에 설치되어 있는 MC-50 싸이클로트론은 중성자 치료와 의학용 동위원소 생산을 위해 가동중에 있다. 본 논문에서는 MC-50의 설계 특징, 기계적 구조, 가동 특성에 대하여 기술하고 있다. 본 싸이클로트론의 최적 가동 조건은 반복적인 운전에 의해 결정되었으며, 내부 빔의 성능은 싸이클로트론 반경의 함수로서 내부 빔의 세기 및 공간 분포 측정을 통해 조사되어졌다. 일상적으로, 인출효율이 61%일 때 40$\mu$A세기의 50 MeV 양성자 빔을 얻었다.

살충제 Carbofuran이 쥐의 NIH3T3 섬유모세포에 끼치는 독성 및 Phenobarbital Sodium과 3-Methylcholanthrene에 의한 보상효과 (Carbofuran Cytotoxicity on Rat Fibroblast Cells and Compensation Effects of Phenobarbital Sodium and 3-Methycholanthrene on Its Toxicity)

  • Carbofuran에 의하여 손상된 NIH3T3 섬유모세포(mouse skin fibroblast)를 보상시킬 수 있는 물질을 개발하기 위한 기초자료를 제시하고자 carbofuran이 NIH3T3 섬유모세포에 미치는 세포독성을 검정하고, carbofuran의 독성에 대한 phenobarbital sodium(PB) 및 3-methylcholantherene(3-MC)의 보상효과를 비교${\cdot}$분석하였다. Carbofuran의 $IC_{50}$ 결정은 배양중인 NIH3T3 섬유모세포의 각 well당 1, 25, 50, $100{\mu}M$의 carbofuran을 첨가하여 48시간 배양한 후 MTT(Tetrazolium MTT), NR(Neutral red) 및 SBR(Sulforhodamine B protein)정량을 실시하여 이들에 대한 각각의 $IC_{50}$을 구하였으며, 여기에서 구한 carbofuran의 $IC_{50}$농도와 여러 농도의 PB 또는 3-MC를 배양액에 첨가하여 48시간 배양한 후 MTT, NR 및 SRB 정량을 실시하여 보상효과를 측정하고 광학현미경적 관찰을 실시하였다. Carbofuran의 세포독성 실험결과를 보면 MTT흡광도는 carbofuran의 농도증가에 따라 감소하였으며 $MTT_{50}$$60.7{\mu}M$이었고, NR흡광도는 $100{\mu}M$농도에서 급격히 감소하였으며, $NR_{50}$$82.5{\mu}M$이었고, SRB흡광도는 $50{\mu}M$농도에서 급격히 감소하였으며 $SRB_{50}$$87.0{\mu}M$로써 50%의 세포독성을 나타냈다. 보상효과 실험에서는 carbofuran IC50과 PB의 조합처리의 경우 MTT 정랑과 NR정량에서는 유사하게 PB $100{\mu}M$처리군에서부터 유의성있는 보상효과가 나타났으나, SRB정량에서는 보상효과가 인정되지 않았다. Carbofura $IC_{50}$과 3-MC의 조합처리의 경우 MTT정량은 3-MC $50{\mu}M$처리군에서부터, NR정량과 SRB정량의 경우는 동일하게 3-MC $100{\mu}M$처리군에서부터 유의성있는 보상효과가 나타났다. 세포의 광학현미경적 관찰소견의 경우에서도 carbofuran과 PB 또는 3-MC 조합처리 실험군 모두에서 세포가 회복되는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. 이상의 결과에서 PB와 3-MC 모두 carbofuran의 세포독성을 감소시킬 수 있는 물질임을 알 수 있었다.

MCCOY CONDITION ON IDEALS OF COEFFICIENTS

  • We continue the study of McCoy condition to analyze zero-dividing polynomials for the constant annihilators in the ideals generated by the coefficients. In the process we introduce the concept of ideal-${\pi}$-McCoy rings, extending known results related to McCoy condition. It is shown that the class of ideal-${\pi}$-McCoy rings contains both strongly McCoy rings whose non-regular polynomials are nilpotent and 2-primal rings. We also investigate relations between the ideal-${\pi}$-McCoy property and other standard ring theoretic properties. Moreover we extend the class of ideal-${\pi}$-McCoy rings by examining various sorts of ordinary ring extensions.

타운 재목(材木)의 천연건조(天然乾燥) 특성(特性) 및 캘린더에 관한 연구(硏究)(I) (Study on Air-drying Characteristics of Taun Lumber and Air-dring Calendar(I))

  • Air-drying tests were carried out on green taun (Pometia pinnata f glabra) for 25-mm and 50-mm thickness to elucidate drying characteristics on air-drying rate, time and defects in spring and air-drying calendar. The results of this study were as follows: 1. The air-dried lumber for 25-mm thickness from an initial average moisture content (MC) of $58.3{\pm}3.5$ percent reached 30 percent MC in 17 days, 25 percent MC in 24 days, 20 percent MC in 38 days and 15 percent MC in 84 days. 2. The air-dried lumber for 50-mm thickness from an initial average MC of $59.6{\pm}5.0$ percent reached 30 percent MC in 39 days, 25 percent MC in 55 days and 20 percent MC in 84 days. 3. Air-drying calendar that could be useful in estimating drying times for each month developed by the use of climatological data for Suwon. Total number of effective air-drying days during a year were 243.5 days and the major determinant of the effect air-drying days was temperature. 4. The air-drying rates for 25-mm and 50-mm coated lumber were slight1y slower than those of uncoated lumber. The number and total length of both end checks and surface checks for end coated lumber were less severe than those of uncoated lumber.

ON A GENERALIZATION OF MCCOY RINGS

  • Rege-Chhawchharia, and Nielsen introduced the concept of right McCoy ring, based on the McCoy's theorem in 1942 for the annihilators in polynomial rings over commutative rings. In the present note we concentrate on a natural generalization of a right McCoy ring that is called a right nilpotent coefficient McCoy ring (simply, a right NC-McCoy ring). The structure and several kinds of extensions of right NC-McCoy rings are investigated, and the structure of minimal right NC-McCoy rings is also examined.

  • A ring R is called linearly McCoy if whenever linear polynomials $f(x)$, $g(x){\in}R[x]{\backslash}\{0\}$ satisfy $f(x)g(x)=0$, there exist nonzero elements $r,s{\in}R$ such that $f(x)r=sg(x)=0$. In this paper, extension properties of linearly McCoy rings are investigated. We prove that the polynomial ring over a linearly McCoy ring need not be linearly McCoy. It is shown that if there exists the classical right quotient ring Q of a ring R, then R is right linearly McCoy if and only if so is Q. Other basic extensions are also considered.

칼슘을 첨가한 셀롤로우스 식용필름의 이화학적 특성 (Effect of Calcium Addition on Physicochemical Properties of Cellulose-Based Edible Films)

  • Methylcellulose (MC), hydroxypropylmethylcellulose-15 (HPMC-15)와 hydroxypropyl-methylcellulose-50 (HPMC-50)필름과 이에 칼슘을 첨가한 식용필름을 제조하여 이화학적 특성을 비교 연구하였다. 제조된 필름은 모두 $2.38{\sim}3.55$의 운도를 나타내며, 백색의 투명한 필름을 형성하였다. 인장강도는 MC필름이 HPMC필름보다 높았으며, 칼슘의 첨가에 의하여 증가하였고, 신장율은 HPMC-15와 이에 칼슘을 첨가한 필름군만 유의적으로 낮았다. 용해도는 HPMC의 점도의 증가에 따라 감소하였으며, MC필름과 HPMC-15필름 사이에는 유의적인 차이를 나타내지 않았고 칼슘의 첨가에 의하여 영향을 나타내지 않았다. 칼슘첨가에 의하여 투습도는 유의적인 차이를 나타내지 않았으며, MC필름이 HPMC-50 필름보다 낮았고, HPMC필름은 점도의 증가에 따라 증가하였다. 가스투과도는 MC필름이 HPMC필름보다 적었으며, 칼슘 첨가로 이산화탄소와 산소의 투과계수의 비가 낮게 측정되었다. 주사현미경으로 표면형상을 관찰한 결과 칼슘을 첨가한 MC필름이 더욱 균일한 표면형상을 나타냄을 알 수 있었다. 이상의 결과로서 HPMC와 MC필름은 Ca을 첨가함으로서 제조방법의 차이는 없었으나 인장강도가 증가하고 균일한 표면형상을 나타내어 HPMC와 MC필름 보다 내구성이 있는 필름을 제조할 수 있었다.

Antioxidative and Anti-aging Effects of Sancho (Zanthoxylum schinifolium) Extract in Rats Fed High Fat Diet

  • This study was performed to investigate antioxidative and anti-aging action of extracts from Sancho (Zanthoxylum schinifolium) leaves. Two extracts were obtained by 80% methanol extraction followed by subsequent fractionation with methylene chloride (MC) and n-butanol (B) and fed at one or three levels to rats on normal level (5%) of fat (control) and high fat(20%) in diets. Male Sprague-Dawley rats weighing about 100 g were divided into ten groups such as control diet group(C), control diet+0.50%B group (CB), control diet+0.50%MC group (CMC), high-fat diet group (HF), high-fat diet+0.25%B group (HBL), high-fat diet+0.50%B group (HBM), high-fat diet+0.75%B group (HBH), high-fat diet+0.25%MC group (HMCL), high-fat diet+0.50%MC group (HMCM) and high-fat diet+ 0.75%MC group (HMCH) and fed each diet for four weeks. The effects of the extracts on antioxidant enzyme activities and indices of lipid peroxidation and aging were seen only in high fat diet groups. Hepatic superoxide dismutase and aryleaterase activities were not changed by Sancho extracts. But glutathione peroxidase, catalase and paraxonase activities were significantly restored by both MC and B at the level of 0.75% lipid peroxide which was increased by high fat diet was significantly reduced by B and MC at the level of 0.25% and over. Lipofuscin fluorescence and cabonyl value were increased by high fat diet were reduced by B and MC at the level of 0.5% and over. It is concluded that the Sancho extracts can be utilized as functional ingredients of health foods for reducing oxidative stress.

Analyses of Transpiration and Growth of Paprika (Capsicum annuum L.) as Affected by Moisture Content of Growing Medium in Rockwool Culture

  • Since the moisture content (MC) of growing medium closely related with the crop transpiration, the MC should be included to the environmental factors to be considered for irrigation control in soilless culture. The objective of this study was to analyze the transpiration of paprika plants using daily mean solar radiation (RAD) and vapor pressure deficit (VPD) as well as the growth of the plants at different MCs of rockwool growing media. The starting points of irrigation were controlled by a moisture sensor with minimum set points of 40%, 50%, and 60% of MCs. The canopy transpirations were measured for 80 to 120 days after transplanting and analyzed. The transpirations were well regressed with a combination of both RAD and VPD rather than daily mean RAD only under the controlled MCs. The transpiration at 60% MC was higher than those at 50% and 40% MCs. Leaf area, leaf fresh and dry weights at 60% MC were higher than those at 50% and 40% MCs while the number of leaves had no significant difference among the MCs. There were no significant differences in number of fruits and fruit size among all the MCs, while fruit weight was significantly lower at 40% MC than other treatments. Fresh and dry fruit yields were the highest at 60% MC. Therefore it was concluded that the transpiration was affected by the MC of rockwool growing medium and the minimum set point of 50-60% MC of rockwool growing medium gave better effects on the growth of the paprika plants.

동물플랑크톤 노출 강도가 유해남조 Microcystis aeruginosa와 Planktothrix agardhii의 생체량 및 세포내 microcystin함량변화에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Zooplankton Exposures on the Biomass and Intracellular Microcystin in Microcystis aeruginosa and Planktothrix agadhii)

  • 두 종의 초식성 동물플랑크톤(Daphnia magna. Moina macrocopa)의 직접노출 밀도차(0, 4, 8개체)와 동물플랑크톤 배양여과액(ZCMF) 농도차(0, 25, 50%)에 따른, 두남조 Microcystis aeruginosa와 Planktothrix agardhii의 생체량과 세포내 microcystin(MC)을 1일 간격으로 측정하였고, 직접노출실험의 경우 동물플랑크톤 생존륜을 1일 간격으로 관찰하였다. 동물플랑크톤 직접노출 실험 결과, 두 균주에서 세포내 MC함량이 증가하였으며 (rm-ANOVA: P< 0.039), P. agardhii균주에서는 4개체 처리군(ZT1)보다 8개체 처리군(ZT2)에서 통계적으로 유의한 수준으로 높은 세포내 MC값이 관찰되었다(Tukey test. P<0.082).세포내 MC가 최고값을 보인 3일 또는 4일째에, 처리군들은 대조군에 비하여 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다(One-way ANOVA, P< 0.021). ZCMF에 노출시킨 M. aeruginosa균주에서 세포내 MC함량이 통계적으로 유의한 수준으로 차이가 있었다(rm-ANOVA: P< 0.004), 실험기간동안 세포내 MC값은 M. aeruginosa균주에서 25%처리군 보다 50%처리군에서 통계적으로 유의한 수준으로 높게 나타났다(Tukey test, Plt; 0.025). 본연구결과, 세포내 MC량은 초식성 동물플랑크톤의 직접노출 밀도차와 분비화학물질(infochemical)농도차에 의존하여 증가 혹은 변화될수 있는 가능성이 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 부영양호에서 독성 남조 번성 조절시, 이러한 가능성을 고려하여 생물조절이 이루어져야 할 것으로 보인다.
