$Ni_3$Al의 기계적합금화에 미치는 $Y_2O_3$ 첨가의 영향 (The Effect of $Y_2O_3$ Addition on the Mechanical Alloying of $Ni_3$Al)

  • Mechanical alloying of $Ni_3Al$ and $Y_2O_3$ added ODS $Ni_3Al$ from elemental powders was investigated by the X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimeter, transmission electron microscopy and optical microscopy. The steady states of $Ni_3Al$ and ODS $Ni_3Al$ powders were reached after mechanical alloying with the condition of the ball-to-powder input ratio of 20:1 for 20 hours and 10 hours, respectively. The addition of nano-sized $Y_2O_3$ particles enhanced cold working and fracture, and subsequently accelerated MA of $Ni_3Al$ powders. DSC results of MAed $Ni_3Al$ powders showed four exothermic peaks at 14$0^{\circ}C$, 234$^{\circ}C$, 337$^{\circ}C$ and 385$^{\circ}C$. From the high temperature X-ray diffraction analysis, it was concluded that the peaks were resulted from the recovery solution of unalloyed Al in Ni, the formation of intermediate phase NiAl, and $LI_2$ ordering of MAed $Ni_3Al$ powders.

  • The refining process and solubility of Ti in Al matrix during mechanical alloying (MA) were investigated by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) as functions of alloy composition, milling time and ball to powder ratio (BPR). Mechanical alloyed samples were annealed for investigating their stability and the formation behavior of$Al_3Ti$in the temperature range from$200{\circ}C$to$600{\circ}C$. It is observed from present experimental that disappearance of Ti peaks in mechanically alloyed Al-10wt%Ti is not simply attributable to the dissolution of Ti into Al, but associated mainly with extreme refining and/or heavy straining of Ti particles The annealing of the mechanically alloyed Al-Ti powders show differences in aluminide formation behavior when Ti content in Al is equal to or less than l0wt% and higher than l5wt%Ti. When Ti-content in Al is equal to or less than l0wt%, the MA powders transform directly to a global equilibrium state forming $DO_{22}- type\;Al_3$Ti above$400{\circ}C$. In the Al-Ti samples with equal to or higher than l5wt%Ti, transitional phases of cubic$Al_3Ti$and tetragonal $Al_{24}Ti_8$ are formed above$400{\circ}C$. They are stable only below$500{\circ}C$, and, $DO_{22}-type\;Al_3Ti$ becomes dominant aluminide at temperature higher than$ 600{\circ}C$.

  • Ni-20Cr-20Fe-5Nb alloy with or without $Y_2O_3$ was manufactured by mechanical alloying process and consolidated by spark plasma sintering (SPS). The grain size of the alloy with $Y_2O_3$ was smaller than that of alloy without $Y_2O_3$ which results from the effect of $Y_2O_3$ suppressing grain growth. The tensile strength at room temperature was increased by the addition of $Y_2O_3$ but decreased abruptly at temperature above $600^{\circ}C$. It seems to result from the change of deformation mechanism due to fine grain size, that is, grain boundary sliding is predominant at above $600^{\circ}C$ while internal dislocation movement is predominant at below $600^{\circ}C$. After conventional heat treatment process of solution treatment and aging, a small amount of ${\delta}(Ni_3Nb)$ phase was formed in Ni-20Cr-20Fe-5Nb alloy while a large amount of ${\gamma}"(Ni_3Nb)$ was formed in Inconel 718 in the previous report. This is due to exhaustion of Nb content by the formation of NbC during consolidation.

전복(Haliotis discus hannai) 용 배합사료내 오징어분 및 해조류 대체원으로서 대두박이 전복 치패의 성장과 체조성에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Substituting Squid Meal and Macroalgae with Soybean Meal in a Commercial Diet on Growth and Body Composition of Juvenile Abalone Haliotis discus hannai)

  • We examined the effect of substituting squid meal and macroalgae with soybean meal in a commercial diet on the growth and body composition of juvenile abalone Haliotis discus hannai. We randomly distributed 2310 juvenile abalone into 33 rectangular plastic containers and fed them five experimental diets in triplicate as follows. The control diet (Con) consisted of 12% squid meal, 8% corn gluten and 20% soybean meal as protein source, wherein 10% ${\alpha}$-starch, 20% wheat flour, and 5% dextrin were carbohydrate source. The experimental diets, 50% squid meal (SM50), 50% squid meal and 50% macroalgae (SM50+MA50), and 100% squid meal and 50% macroalgae (SM100+MA50) were substituted with the same respective amounts of soybean meal. The fifth experimental diet consisted of the control diet plus 1% diatom powder (DP). We prepared two domestic (Domestic A and B) and two imported (China and Japan) abalone feeds. Finally, we prepared Undaria and sea tangle. We found that the weight gain of abalone fed the Con, DP, and China and Japan diets was significantly greater than that of abalone fed Undaria and sea tangle. We conclude that the substituting squid meal and macroalgae with soybean meal in abalone feed has limited benefits, but supplementing diets with 1% diatom powder is effective in improving weight gain.

기계적 합금화한 $\sigma$-VFe합금의 중성자 및 X선 회절에 의한 상분석 (Phase Analysis of Mechanically Alloyed $\sigma$-VFe Alloy Powders by Neutron and X-ray Diffraction)

  • $\sigma$-VFe 금속간화합물에 대한 기계적 합금화(MA) 효과를 중성자 및 X선 회절법으로 조사하였다. MA 분말의 구조분석은 X선 회절(Cu-K$\alpha$) 린 중성자회절(HRPD, λ=1.835$\AA$)을 이용하여 행하였다. $\sigma$-VFe화합물의 MA시 큰 구조변화가 관찰되었으며, MA 60시간의 경우 Fe-Fe 훤자분포는 unit cell에 30개의 원자를 포함하고 있는 $\sigma$상의 tetragonal구조에서 $120^{\circ}C$이상에서 안정하게 존재하는 $\alpha$-(V,Fe) 고용체의 bcc 구조로 상변화함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 $\alpha$-VFe 화합물에 대한 중성자 및 X선 회절패턴의 비교분석을 행하였으며 그 결과 $\sigma$상이 가지는 화학적 규칙성에 기인하는 (101)과 (111) 회절 피크가 중성자 회절에서 뚜렷하게 관찰됨을 알 수 있었다.

산 및 결로방지 처리한 기능성 MA포장으로 포장한 '후지' 사과의 신선도 (Freshness of 'Fuji' Apples Packed MA Film Treated with Acid and Anti-fogging Agents)

  • 국내산 제올라이트 분말소재를 가공하여 개발한 두께 $30{\mu}m$의 필름에 산 및 결로방지 처리한 후 마스터뱃치하여 생산한 기능성 MA필름(FMA)의 사과의 선도유지 효과를 알아보고자 '후지' 사과를 20개씩 포장하여 온도 $15^{\circ}C$, 상대습도 67%의 항온 항습실에 150일 동안 저장하였고 저장 후 50, 90, 120 및 150일에 기호도, 중량, Vitamin C, 당도, 산도, 기체조성을 비교 분석하였다. 대조구용 필름으로 기존 유통 중인 LLDPE필름을 L이라 하였고, 1 N HCl용액으로 처리한 제올라이트 소재로 생산한 포장구에 수분응축처리를 한 필름은 개발포장구 CA라 하였다. 품질유지가 가능한 기간은 대조구 L이 130일, 개발포장구 CA는 170일로 나타나 40일 정도 품질유지기간이 대조구보다 길게 나타남을 확인했다. 저장 150일 후 중량 감소는 대조구 L은 0.4%였고 개발포장구 CA는 1.0%의 중량감소가 일어났다. Vitamin C 함량은 초기 5.24 mg/100g F.W.에서 저장 150일 후 대조구 L은 2.09였고 개발포장구 CA는 2.94 mg/100g F.W.을 나타냈는데 개발포장구가 대조구보다 Vitamin C 잔존량이 높게 나타났다. 당도는 저장 150일 후 비슷하게 유지되었으며 산도는 개발포장구에서 더 높게 유지되고 있었으며 에틸렌 가스의 경우 대조구 L은 192.2 ppm였고 개발포장구 CA는 165.6 ppm으로 조사되었다. 개발포장재와 대조구간의 포장재내 가스농도차가 저장 90일후는 21.0 ppm 저장 150일 후는 44.3 ppm으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과에서 개발한 MA 저장용 필름을 사과의 선도유지용 포장재로 활용할 수 있음을 입증하였다. 또한 수분응축현상이 생기지 않도록 수분응축억제 처리했을 때 사과의 상품성에는 도움이 될 수도 있으나 신선도 유지에 큰 영향은 없는 것으로 보여진다.

산 처리된 제올라이트와 결로 방지제를 함유한 MA 필름으로 포장한 감귤의 신선도 (Freshness of Satsuma Mandarin Packed in Anti-fogged MA Film with Acid Treated Zeolite)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내산(경북 포항 영일만) 제올라이트 분말소재를 산 처리하여 MA필름 제조시 수분억제제(결로방지, 방담처리)를 병행 처리하여 생산한 개발포장구(CA)로 포장한 감귤과의 신선도유지 효과를 조사하고자 기존의 LLDPE 필름과 개발포장구(CA)에 감귤을 포장하여 온도 $15^{\circ}C$, 상대습도 67%의 항온항습실에 120일 동안 저장하면서 기호도, 중량, Vitamin C, 당도, 산도와 기체조성을 비교 분석하였다. 품질유지기간은 대조구(L)은 100일 개발포장구(CA)는 130일로 예측되었으며 30일 정도 품질유지기간이 대조구보다 길게 나타남을 확인했다. 저장 중 중량 감소는 저장 120일 후에 대조구(L)은 1% 내외였고 개발포장구(CA)는 1.6%였다. Vitamin C함량은 개발포장구(CA)에서 Vitamin C 잔존량이 17% 정도 더 높게 유지되고 있었다. 당도는 개발포장구(CA) 보다 대조구(L)에서 더 높게 나타났고 산도는 대조구(L)보다 개발포장구(CA)에서 더 높게 나타났다. 포장재 내의 에칠렌 가스 농도는 저장 120일 후에는 대조구(L)은 89.5 ppm을 개발포장구(CA)는 73.6 ppm으로 대조구(L)보다 개발포장구(CA)에서 15.9 ppm 낮게 나타났다. $O_2$ 가스의 경우 저장 120일 후 대조구(L)은 9.5%였고 개발포장구(CA)는 10.9%로 나타나 대조구보다 1.4% 높게 유지되고 있었다. $CO_2$ 가스의 경우 저장 120일후 대조구(L)은 7.5%였고 개발포장구 C는 6.5%를 나타내 대조구(L)보다 개발포장구(CA)에서 1% 더 낮게 유지되고 있었다. 이상의 결과에서 개발한 MA필름을 감귤의 선도유지용 포장재로 활용할 수 있음이 입증되었다. 또한 수분응축현상이 생기지 않도록 수분응축억제 처리한 필름을 처리하지 않은 필름과 비교해 보았을 때, 신선도에는 큰 영향이 없지만 상품성유지에는 도움이 될 것으로 판단되었다.

Phenol함유 폐수의 처리에서 분말 활성탄 첨가의 영향 (Effects of Fine Powder Active Carbon Addition on the Wastewater Treatment Containing Phenol)

  • This study investigated performance of the phenol degradation and reaction characteristics according to variation of phenol volumetric loading rates and dilution rates in suspension and PACT reactors using Pseudomonas sp. B3. 1. Removal efficiencies of the PAC unit indicated about 100 % with phenol volumetric loading rates from 0.4 phenol $kg/ma^3\cdot d$ to 1.2 phenol $kg/m^3\cdot d$, however, which of the suspension reactor showed about 100% with from 0.2 phenol $kg/m^3\cdot d$ to 0.75 phenol $kg/ma^3\cdot day$. 2. The cell density slightly was decreased from 298.2 mg/l to 272 mg/l, when dilution rate for suspension was reactor increased from 0.4 to 1.41 1/d, and also the cell density suddenly was decreased to 145.5 mg/l and was washed out at the dilution rate higher than 1.60 1/d. But the cell density for the PAC unit was linearly decreased with dilution rate of from 0.8 to 3.0 1/d, and showed 220.75 mg/l at maximum dilution rate. 3. The phenol utilization rate was increased from 0.008 to 0.031 phenol g/l$\cdot$h, when dilution rate for suspension reactor was increased from 0.4 to 1.5 1/d, however, the rate for the PAC unit was linearly increased from 0.017 to 0.061 phenol g/l$\cdot$h as variation changes from 0.017 to 0.061 phenol g/l$\cdot$h dilution rate.

Thermoelectric Properties of Half-Heusler TiCoSb Synthesized by Mechanical Alloying Process

  • Half-Heusler alloys are a potential thermoelectric material for use in high-temperature applications. In an attempt to produce half-Heusler thermoelectric materials with fine microstructures, TiCoSb was synthesized by the mechanical alloying of stoichiometric elemental powder compositions and then consolidated by vacuum hot pressing. The phase transformations during the mechanical alloying and hot consolidation process were investigated using XRD and SEM. A single-phase, half- Heusler allow was successfully produced by the mechanical alloying process, but a minor portion of the second phase of the CoSb formation was observed after the vacuum hot pressing. The thermoelectric properties as a function of the temperature were evaluated for the hot-pressed specimens. The Seebeck coefficients in the test range showed negative values, representing n-type conductivity, and the absolute value was found to be relatively low due to the existence of the second phase. It is shown that the electrical conductivity is relatively high and that the thermal conductivities are compatibly low in MA TiCoSb. The maximum ZT value was found to be relatively low in the test temperature range, possibly due to the lower Seebeck coefficient. The Hall mobility value appeared to be quite low, leading to the lower value of Seebeck coefficient. Thus, it is likely that the single phase produced by mechanical alloying process will show much higher ZT values after an excess Ti addition. It is also believed that further property enhancement can be obtained if appropriate dopants are selectively introduced into this MA TiCoSb System.

A Simple Device of the Dry Tetrabromophenolphthalein Ethyl Ester Reagent Strip for the Detection of Methamphetamine

  • A new device to detect methamphetamine (MA), amphetamine(A) and its metabolites in urine was developed using the paper strip method and the test tube method of dry chemical reagents. The reagent containing tetrabromophenolphthalein ethyl ester (TBPE) and borax. For the TBPE paper strip method, a device was prepared with a window at each end of the reagent paper strip ; one window is for the sample application, and the other window is for the methylene chloride. The diffused sample from one window reacts with reagent in the paper and produces color at the point where it meets with methylene chloride which has diffused form the other side. A positive smaple produces as red-purple color and the negative sample a greenish color, with a detection limit of 5-10 ppm. The result can be obtained within one minute. For the TBPE test tube method which contains dry reagents, the detection limit is 5 ppm and the result can be obtaineed within 30 seconds, however the carry-on is not as convenient as the paper strip method. The performance of both methods were evlauated by comparing with the results of gas chromatography (GC) and fluorescence polarizaiton immunoassay (FPIA). The results were proven that both methods were useful as primary screening reagents to detect MA in urine and in dry powder.
