요부신전운동에 의한 효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on Effect by Lumbar Extension Exercise)

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the effect of Lumbar extensor exercise program and develop the Lumbar extensor exercise program which will be suitable to the patients characteristics. In this study the experimental group was made up of 38 subjects. They are the patients with low back pain using the Lumbar extension exercise program in C hospital. The lumbar extension exercise program was given two times a week for 8 weeks. The results were estimated by Lumbar extensor strength by diagnosis agent. The results were measured three times, one time pre-treatment and two times post-treatment at 4weeks and 8weeks by lumbar extensor curve angle(0, 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72). The results were compared at pre-test 4weeks and 8weeks. The muscle strength measured at both 4weeks and 8weeks with the greater strength was shown at 4weeks. The muscle strength of patients with M.strain, Laminectomy and HNP was increased at all angles except for patients with stenosis. The results of this study indicated that diagnosis influenced the muscle strength in Lumbar extensor exercise program.

만성 요통환자의 요추부 신전강화에 의한 효과 (The Effect on Chronic Low Back Pain Patient Through Lumbar Extension Muscular Strength Training)

  • The number of the subjects of this study were all sixteen including 8 male and 8 female. They were chronic low back pain patients and treated at hospital out patient. The patients took lumbar extension strength training. The results of examination and analysis isometric lumbar extension muscular strength before and after the training are as follows; 1. TFT increased after lumbar extension muscular strength exercise than before the exercise. Inspire of difference of each angle. The reciprocal action didn't happen between training and angle. 2. NMT increased after lumbar extension muscular strength exercise than the before the exercise and the difference of each angle didn't happen. The reciprocal action also didn't happen between the training and angle. 3. Comparing presented standard point with individual point, 13persons' muscle strength of first step increased, on the other and 3 person's muscle strength a little increased in a same category. 4. The grade of low back pain decreased for all subjects. Concluding this study, lumbar extension muscular strength exercise through isokinetic device decreases the grade of low back pain and increase lumbar extension muscular strength. It is that equal exercise effect happen in full range of motion, for the exercise effect doesn't show the difference of each angle.

요부안정화 운동이 만성요통여성 환자의 근활성도와 등속성 근력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Lumbar Stabilization Exercise on Muscle Activity and Isokinetic Muscle Strength of Female Patients with Chronic Low Back Pain)

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study to investigate the effects of exercise on lumbar stabilization in muscle activity and isokinetic muscle strength of female with chronic low back pain. METHODS: The candidates was chose to twenty women in their 30s and 40s complaining back pain for over 12 weeks and consist of 10 people for lumbar stabilization and general physical therapy group(PL group), another 10 people for general physical therapy group(GP group). Lumbar stabilization exercise was conducted for 8 weeks and was comprised of 60 minutes for two times a week. In order to examine the effects of lumbar stabilization, results in the present study were analyzed maximal voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC) using electromyogram to measure muscle activity and isokinetic performance including peak torque and average power at the pre to post. RESULTS: The following are results in this study. The MVIC and isokinetic muscle strength were gradually increased in all group. As the result of the test of the MVIC and isokinetic muscle strength, the difference of lumbar stabilization and general physical therapy group is statistically more significant than that of general physical therapy group. CONCLUSION: In the present study, results indicate that lumbar stabilization helps to improve the muscle activity and isokinetic muscle strength.

The effects of motion taping on young males' lumbar stabilization exercise

  • PURPOSE: This study was conducted to examine the effects of motion taping on the effects of lumbar stabilization exercise. METHODS: The subjects of this study were 24 normal males with no problem in their nervous systems or musculoskeletal systems. The subjects were randomly assigned to a control group of 12 subjects and an experimental group of 12 subjects. The control group was applied with lumbar stabilization exercise while the experimental group was applied with lumbar stabilization exercise after being attached with tapes. The intervention period was four weeks in total and the subject underwent the exercises three times per week. The exercise time per session was set to one hour in principle consisting of warm-up exercise and cool-down exercise for 10 minutes each and main exercise for 40 minutes. Lumbar muscle strength was measured as a factor to examine the effects of lumbar stabilization exercises. RESULTS: The control group showed an increase in lumbar muscle strength from $111{\pm}6.30kg$ to $113{\pm}6.23kg$ and the experimental group showed an increase in lumbar muscle strength from $108{\pm}6.46kg$ to $116{\pm}5.21kg$. The increases shown by both groups were statistically significant and the experimental group that was applied with motion taping showed a larger increase in lumbar muscle strength compared to the control group. CONCLUSION: Lumbar stabilization exercise is considered to be good for lumbar stability and muscle strengthening and lumbar stabilization exercise applied with motion taping is considered to show larger effects for muscle strengthening and the improvement of lumbar functions.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of transverse abdominal exercise on the change of chronic low back pain and lumbar muscle strength. Method : 18 chronic lumbago patients were transverse abdominal exercise for 3weeks. Result : 1. The strength of the lumbar extensor and flexor of the male subjects was increased significantly after abdominal exercise(p<0.05). 2. The strength of the lumbar extensor and flexor of the female subjects was increased significantly after abdominal exercise(p<0.05). 3. The study can confirm significant relationship between the lumbar muscle strength and lumbar pain before and after the exercise Conclusion : The study of could find the increase of the ability of the lumbar extensor and flexor of both male and female subjects suffering from chronic low back and pain using three-week transverse abdominal exercise. The study confirmed the general decrease of pain after the experiment.

척추전방전위증 환자와 추간판탈출증 환자의 요부근 기능과 굴곡/신전근 비율에 관한 비교연구 (Comparison Study on Lumbar Strength and Lumbar Flexor/Extensor Ratio of Spondylolisthesis Patients and Herniated Disc Patients)

  • The Purpose of this study was to compare the lumbar strength and lumbar flexor/extensor ratio between spondylolisthesis and herniated disc patients. The patients who had a subacute low back pain have been proved to each disease through MRI and we measured the maximal isometric strength of all patients(28) through MedX lumbar extension machine(Ocala, FL). In all patients, males had higher lumbar extensor strength than that of females. Especially, the spondylolisthesis patients had lower lumbar extensor strength than that of herniated disc patients. The statistical significant(p<.05, p<.01) differences were manifested in $48^{\circ},\;60^{\circ}\;and\;72^{\circ}$ between male groups. Also the statistical significant (p<.05) differences were manifested in $60^{\circ}\;and\;72^{\circ}$between female groups. In the lumbar flexor/ extensor ratio, the males of spondylolisthesis groups represented the functional weakness in the flexed portion of the range of motion, and the females of spondylolisthesis and the all patients of herniated disc represented the functional weakness in the extended portion of the range of motion. In conclusion, we may propose the program such that the spondylolisthesis males must increase the ratio of extended portion exercise, and the spondylolisthesis females and herniated disc patients must increase the ratio of flexed portion exercise.

Effects of Lumbar Stabilization Exercise with Kinesio Taping on Pain, Muscle Strength, and Oswestry Disability Index in Patients with Chronic Low Back Pain

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects lumbar stabilization exercise with kinesio taping on pain, muscle strength, and oswestry disability index (ODI) in patients with chronic low back pain. Design: Two groups pre-post randomized controlled design Methods: Thirty-two subjects were randomly divided in two groups; 1) lumbar stabilization exercise with kinesio taping group (Experimental group, n=16), 2) lumbar stabilization exercise with sham kinesio taping group (Control group, n=16). The intervention was conducted in each group for thirty minutes a day, 5 times a week, for 4 weeks. Both group did 30 minutes of lumbar stabilization application. Evaluations were performed before the commencement of training and again 4 weeks after training was initiated. Visual analog scale (VAS) was used to evaluate pain level of patients with chronic low back pain. Distal muscle test was used to evaluate muscle strength of trunk extension. In addition, ODI was used to evaluate activity daily life of low back pain. Results: After training, the VAS, muscle strength of trunk extension and ODI were significantly more improvement in Experimental group than in the control group (p<0.05). Conclusions: We confirmed that the effects of lumbar stabilization exercise with kinesio taping group on pain, muscle strength, and ODI in patients with chronic low back pain.

메덱스 척추강화운동 프로그램이 만성 요통 노인 환자들의 요부 신전 근력에 미치는 영향 (The effect of MedX exercise program on lumbar extensor strength in the elderly with chronic LBP)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the lumbar extensor strength between before exercise and after 8 weeks exercise in the elderly. To evaluate lumbar extensor strength of total 18 patients (above 59 age) with low back pain or have experienced surgical operation. Lumbar extensor strength was measured in 8 male patients and 10 female patients (9 op group and 9 non-op group) by Medx lumbar extension machine. The data were analyzed with paired t-test compared to muscle strength, with repeated measured ANOVA compared to amount increase of muscle strength, using SPSS ver. 10.0 program. The results of this study were as follows: 1. There were significantly increased total lumbar extension strength was appear $6918.7{\pm}2802.77$ft-lbs in before exercise, $10432.83{\pm}2802.773397.1$ft-lbs in after 8 weeks exercise (p<. 05). 2. There were significantly increased total lumbar extension strength was increased to compared before exercise with after 8 weeks exercise in sex (p<. 05), op/non-op group (p<. 05).

만성요통 환자의 테이핑 적용 시체간의 굴곡과 선전의 근력과 지구력의 변화 측정 (The Effect of Kinesio Taping on the Change of Muscle Strength and Endurance in Trunk Flexion and Extension in Chronic Low Back Pain(CLBP))

  • In this study, the muscle strength and endurance of the lumbar at flexion and extension were determined using an isokinetic muscle strength meter (Biodex) in patients with chronic lumbar go (10 male and 10 females), and the changes in muscle strength and endurance of the lumbar at flexion and extension after application of Y-shaped sacrospinalis muscle taping, typically used for patient with lumbar go, were studied. In addition, the sacrospinalis muscle taping of a different shape (I-shaped taping) was applied bilaterally centering on the spine, and the muscle strength and endurance of the lumbar at flexion and extension were determined and compared with those before taping. In addition, the results after application of Y-shaped taping and I-shaped taping were also compared. 1. The extensor muscle strength of the lumbar at loading of $60^{\circ}$/sec before application of kinesio Taping and after application of Y-shaped taping showed the level of significance (p<.05). The flexor muscle strength of the lumbar at loading of $60^{\circ}$/sec before application of kinesio taping and after application of Y-shaped taping did not show the level of significance. 2. The flexor muscle endurance of the lumbar at loading of $90^{\circ}$/sec before application of kinesio Taping and application of Y-shaped taping did not show the level of significance. The extensor muscle endurance of the lumbar at loading of $90^{\circ}$/sec before application of kinesio Taping and after application of Y-shaped taping did not show the level of significance. 3. The extensor muscle strength of the lumbar at loading of $60^{\circ}$/sec before application of kinesio Taping and after application of I-shaped taping showed the level of significance (p<.05). The flexor muscle strength of the lumbar at loading of $60^{\circ}$/sec before application of kinesio Taping and after application of I-shaped taping showed the level of significance (p<.05). 4. 등장성 재활 트레이닝 및 스트레칭 프로그램이 요통의 감소 및 요부근력증가에 미치는 임상 보고 (A case of the Improvement Low Back Pain and Lumbar Strength by isotonic lumbar extension training on lumbar strength and self Low Back Exercise Stretching Program)

  • 본 증례는 약 8 주간의 운동치료와 스트레칭 프로그램의 운용으로 요통의 감소와 함께 요부근력의 상승을 가져왔다. 환자 관리에 유용한 입원 치료를 통하여 타 연구에 비해 뛰어난 요부근력의 향상을 보였는데 이는 일정 기간 내에서 환자 관리에 따라서 요부 근력의 상승정도를 높일 수 있음을 보여준다고 생각된다. 추나치료, 침구치료 등이 미치는 영향에 대해서 일일이 제한을 두지 않았고 이러한 한방치료의 병행 자체가 미치는 영향에 대하여서는 보다 많은 case 연구가 필요하다고 생각된다.
