Two-dimensional (2D) materials, especially graphene and $MoS_2$ sheets, have gained much attention and shown great promise for the application in supercapacitors. To widely use the 2D materials for supercapacitors, highly efficient, low cost, and environmentally friendly synthetic methods for the preparation of 2D materials should be developed. Here, we will review recently developed solution-based processes for preparing 2D materials for supercapacitors. Chemical exfoliation-reduction, chemical intercalation, and liquid phase exfoliation methods will be introduced. Moreover, the electrochemical characteristics of graphene and $MoS_2$-based electrodes for supercapacitors are summarized. In addition to solution-based processes, other challenges and opportunities are discussed in terms of controlling nanosheet compositions, sizes, and thicknesses.

In this paper, a novel non-vacuum technique is described for the fabrication of a $CuInSe_2$ (CIS) absorber layer for thin film solar cells using a low-cost precursor solution. A solution containing Cu- and Inrelated chemicals was coated onto a Mo/glass substrate using the Doctor blade method and the precursor layer was then selenized in an evaporation chamber. The precursor layer was found to be composed of CuCl crystals and amorphous In compound, which were completely converted to chalcopyrite CIS phase by the selenization process. Morphological, crystallographic and compositional analyses were performed at each step of the fabrication process by SEM, XRD and EDS, respectively.

Metal-halide perovskite (MHP) solar cell is a promising candidate for next-generation flexible devices and the BIPV (Building-integrated photovoltaics) because it can exhibit high power conversion efficiencies over 23%, good bendability and low processing cost. However, MHP solar cells are commonly fabricated by the spin coating that is not a reliable method to produce large-scale commercial solar cells. A shear coating can be one of the potential candidates for the large-scale deposition method of MHP films. In this work, the influences of the process parameters such as solvents of precursor solution, substrate temperature, concentrations of precursor solution, and annealing time on the thin film growth of MHP were investigated for the shear coating process. This study presents the possibility of the shear coating process for large-scaled perovskite film fabrication and reveals the role of process condition in the thin film growth of perovskites.

In this study, lignin/chlorinated poly(vinyl chloride)(CPVC) blended fibers have been produced for the development of low-cost carbon fiber. Carbon fiber manufacturing was accomplished through stabilization and carbonization process. The lignin/CPVC blended fibers were prepared by wet spinning method. Dimethylacetamid e(DMAc) and cychlohexanone in a ratio of 5:1(wt%) was employed as co-solvent. The ratio of lignin/CPVC was prepared at 0/10, 1/9, 2/8, 3/7, 4/6, and 5/5(wt%). The spinning solution was extruded at a rate of 0.1 to 0.4ml/min according to the blending ratio. The speed of the rollers was the same for all ratios(draw ratio=1). Analysis of fiber cross-section by scanning eletron microscopy(SEM) showed that as the lignin ratio increased in the same coagulation bath and distilled water, the pore size of the spinning fiber decreased. Therefore, the highest tensile strength of the blending fibers was 6.3±1.2MPa at the 5/5 ratio. The carbon fiber also showed the best tensile strength of 120.78±2.43MPa at 5/5 ratio.

In recent years, research has been actively conducted on the navigation in an indoor environment where Global Navigation Satellite System signals are unavailable. Among them, a study performed indoor navigation by integrating pseudolite carrier and Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensor. However, in this case, there was no solution for the cycle slip occurring in the carrier. In another study, cycle slip detection and compensation were performed by integrating Global Positioning System (GPS) and IMU in an outdoor environment. However, in an indoor environment, cycle slip occurs more easily and frequently, and thus the occurrence of half cycle slip also increases. Accordingly, cycle slip detection based on 1 cycle unit has limitations. Therefore, in the present study, the aforementioned problems were resolved by performing indoor navigation through the integration of pseudolite and ultra-low-cost IMU embedded in a smartphone and by performing half cycle slip detection and compensation based on this. In addition, it was verified through the actual implementation of real-time navigation.

This paper proposes a portable 3-D scanning technique using a laser pointer. 3-D scanning is a process that acquires surface information from an 3-D object. There have been many studies on 3-D scanning. The methods of 3-D scanning are summarized into some methods based on multiple cameras, line lasers, and light pattern recognition. However, those methods has major disadvantages of their high cost and big size for portable appliances such as smartphones and digital cameras. In this paper, a 3-D scanning system using a low-cost and small-sized laser pointer are introduced to solve the problems. To do so, we propose a 3-D localization technique for a laser point. The proposed method consists of two main parts; one is a fast recognition of input images to obtain 2-D information of a point laser and the other is calibration based on the least-squares technique to calculate the 3-D information overall. To verified our method, we carry out experiments. It is proved that the proposed method provides 3-D surface information although the system is constructed by extremely low-cost parts such a chip laser pointer, compared to existing methods. Also, the method can be implemented in small-size; thus, it is enough to use in mobile devices such as smartphones.

Every products, which made by mass production, is not identical in their size but have variations in some intervals specified by tolerance dimensions. Tolerances play major role in standardization of part and its quality, and also make a huge impact on manufacturing cost. The optimal condition for tolerances is giving the values as loose as possible for low production cost while satisfying quality specification, which usually demand tight control of tolerances. Tolerance analysis is necessary to get an optimal solution for this conflict situation. This paper have studied tolerance analysis for universal joint assembly of vehicle steering system and tried to find useful results of the study for product design and quality control.

Less power consumption, lower cost, smaller size and more functionality are the increasing demands for consumer electronic devices. The three dimensional(3-D) TSV packaging technology is the potential solution to meet this requirement because it can supply short vertical interconnects and high input/output(I/O) counts. Cu(Copper) has usually been chosen to fill the TSV because of its high conductivity, low cost and good compatibility with the multilayer interconnects process. However, the CTE mismatch and Cu ion drift under thermal stress can raise reliability issues. This study discribe the thermal stress reliability trend for successful implementation of 3-D packaging.

In Korean agriculture, an automatic environment control system for greenhouse is essential to save labor and to increase the quality of products. The existing environment monitoring systems have weighed on greenhouse growers and researchers because of their high cost and difficult applications. Many sensors are widely used for monitoring the greenhouse environment, but most of commercial sensors are expensive and not suitable for use in greenhouses. Thus , the development of an environment monitoring system for exclusive use in greenhouses is essential . The objective of this study was to develop modular environment monitoring systems, which are low-cost , reliable and easy -to -use. The results showed that the sensors for indoor and outdoor environments and nutrient solution had the ranges and accuracies appropriate for use in greenhouses. Also the modular environment systems developed showed a satisfactory performance in terms of stability and reliability in the measurement and acquisition of the greenhouse environment data.

This paper addresses a mathematical approach to decision making in a real-world material distribution situation. The problem is characterized by a low-volume and highly-varied mix of products, therefore there is a lot of material movement between the facilities. This study focuses especially on the transportation scheduler with a tool that can be used to quantitatively analyze the volume of material moved, the type of truck to be used, production schedules, and due dates. In this research, we have developed a mixed integer programming problem using the minimum cost, multiperiod, multi-commodity network flow approach that minimizes the overall material movement costs. The results suggest that the optimization approach provides a set of feasible solution routes with the objective of reducing the overall fleet cost.
