국제선 운영변화에 따른 김포국제공항의 항공기 소음 분석 (Analysis of Aircraft Noise at Gimpo International Airport according to Changes in International Flight Operations)

  • Gimpo International Airport is a strategically utilized airport based on government policy, but there are many residents living around the airport, so it is very sensitive to changes in airport operation. In the past, similar noise results were obtained for aircraft noise at Gimpo International Airport despite changes in aircraft types and an increase in the number of aircraft operating, and recently ICAO proposed a low-noise aircraft noise standard (Ch.14). Since the new standard has a noise reduction effect of up to 15dB compared to existing aircraft noise, ICAO and Europe EASA predict that future aircraft noise will be reduced if the latest technologies such as low-noise aircraft are applied. Therefore, this study establishes the aircraft operation performance and measured noise of Gimpo International Airport in 2022 as a baseline scenario, noise changes using various scenarios of introduction of low-noise aircraft, operation of mid-to-long-distance routes, and changes in future air traffic demand were analyzed using simulation.

교통소음으로 인한 실내소음레벨과 주관반응 분석 - 항공기, 도로교통 및 철도소음을 중심으로 (Comparison between Indoor Noise Level and Subjective Response for Transportation Noise - Focusing on the Aircraft, Road traffic and Railway Noise)

  • A series of research to seek for the relationship between subjective responses and noise level for transportation noise have been proceeded, and their results showed similar for some cases and different for some other cases as well, which is considered due to the various conditions such as the way of survey, different scale applied, and country etc. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between sound level and subjective response for the different kinds of transportation noise. The noises recorded in real situation were played to thirty subjects with fourty nine adjectives. The percentage of people annoyed(% PA) and the percentage of people highly annoyed(% HA) were calculated from the subjective results and compared how many percent of people are annoyed and highly annoyed for the same sound level. As a result of calculating the average, the aircraft noise was highest and the white noise lowest. The relationship between window TL and average point was well correlated except the aircraft noise which was scattered because of high sound level at specific frequency and low TL at corresponding frequency. This means that appropriate rating method for airborne sound transmission should be sought for to evaluate outdoor noise which has different frequency characteristics. The Boltzmann equation for % PA and % HA was applied to predict the sound level corresponding to the percentage. It is concluded that the aircraft noise and road traffic noise have almost same response and the railway noise was same with white noise, used for the reference noise, annoyed lower than other noises about by 3 dB.

  • The potential hazards resulting from a low-velocity impact (bird-strike, tool drop, runway debris, etc.) on aircraft structures, such as engine nacelle or a leading edges, has been a long-term concern to the aircraft industry. Certification authorities require that exposed aircraft components must be tested to prove their capability to withstand low-velocity impact without suffering critical damage. In most of the past research studies unloaded specimens have been used for impact tests, however, in reality it is much more likely that a composite structure is exposed to a certain stress state when it is being impacted, which can have a significant effect on the impact performance. And the radiated impact sound induced by impact is analyzed for the damage detection evaluation. In this study, an investigation was undertaken to evaluate the effect in-plane loading on the impact force and sound of composite laminates numerically.

  • Objectives: This study was focused on the influence of chronic aircraft noise exposure on children's continuous performance, intelligence and reading skill. Methods: We enrolled 586 children in 4-6th grade of 7 primary schools near air base in Korea. Continuous performance was measured using the computerized ADS program. We analyzed 477-512 children on the visual continuous performance test, auditory continuous performance test, intelligence test, and reading and the vocabulary test. Intelligence was measured using vocabulary, digit span, block design, and digit symbol tests of K-WISC-III. Results: The commission error and variability deviation of auditory continuous performance test and reading test were significantly higher among children in schools with the helicopter noise and the fighting plane noise compared to children in the low noised schools. Conclusion: There was a possibility that chronic aircraft noise exposure was associated with impairment of the school performance. The result of our study also shows chronic aircraft noise was associated with reading ability.

김해국제공항 항공기 소음 저감을 위한 비행기항적실증분석 (Empirical Analysis of Airplane Route for Reduction of Aircraft Noise at Gimhae International Airport)

  • This study explored measures to reduce noise applicable to Gimhae international airport centering on densely packed housing areas. Especially, as for measures to relieve noise damage on the densely packed housing areas in Gimhae-si, the noise reduction effect is expected to be doubled if the west runway (36L/18R) is used as the preferred runway for the 36 direction takeoff, as well as if the flight bypasses the densely packed housing areas by means of sophisticated navigation using the area navigation (RNAV) procedure based on performance-based navigation (PBN). Takeoff toward the south connects the flight path to the South Sea which has comparatively low noise impact, relieving noise damage on the densely packed housing areas (apartment complexes in Naeoe-dong of Gimhae-si, etc.) near the northern end of the runway. The operation of the runway displaced threshold is currently being implemented on the west runway (36L/18R) of Gimhae international airport. It has been found that swing landing in spring and summer when the wind blows from the south has a noise reduction effect on the noise sensitive areas at the side and end of the west runway (Gangdong-dong and Jukdong-dong of Gangseo-gu and Buram-dong of Gimhae-si, etc.).

항공기용 하니콤 트림판넬의 다채널 능동제어 (Multichannel Active Control of Honeycomb Trim Panels for Aircrafts)

  • This paper summarizes theoretical work on the multichannel decentralized feedback control of sound radiation from aircraft trim panels using piezoceramic actuators. The aircraft trim panels are generally honeycomb structures designed to meet the design requirement of low weight and high stiffness. They are resiliently-mounted to the fuselage for the passive reduction of noise transmission. It is motivated by the localization of reduction in vibration of single channel active trim panels. 12-channel decentralized feedback control systems are investigated in terms of the reduction of noise and vibration for three configurations of sensor actuator pairs. Local coupling of the closely-spaced sensor and actuator pairs was modeled using single degree of freedom systems. The multichannel control system is characterized using the state-space model. For the stability point of view, the relative stability or robustness is evaluated by comparing the real part of eigenvalues of the system matrix for the three configurations. The control performance is also evaluated and compared for the three configurations. It is found that the multichannel system can lead to the globalization of the reduction in vibration and radiated noise. It does not appear to yield a significant improvement in the vibration because of decreased gain margin. However, the reduction in the radiated noise is remarkably improved due to the variation of the vibration pattern with the actuation configurations.

공동주택에서 음원특성에 따른 외부창호 차음성능 변화 (Variation of the Sound Insulation Performance of Window in the Apartment House depending on the Sound Source Characteristics)

  • The aim of this study is to analyze the sound insulation performance of windows depending on the sound source types and to propose the noise control method in the apartment house. The regions where apartment houses are constructed are varied in the dominant noise sources such as aircraft noise, railway noise and road traffic noise. For the experiment, nine noise sources including pink noise were selected and recorded, which was used in the experiment by reproducing. As a result of this study, the sound insulation performance of window was found that when the frequency contents of the noise were high level in all frequency bands the difference of sound insulation performance was negligible, but when the frequency contents were low level at particular frequency band the difference of sound insulation performance was shown very differently.

연료전지항공기 기술 동향 (Technical Trends for Fuel Cell Aircraft)

  • 연료전지는 소음이 낮고$CO_2$ 배출이 없는 친환경적 특성을 기반으로 항공기 추진시스템에 적용되고 있으며, 현재 연료전지를 탑재한 여러 종류의 무인항공기와 소형 유인항공기 개발이 진행되고 있다. 항공기용 연료전지는 대표적으로 PEMFC(Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell)방식과 SOFC(Solid Oxide Fuel Cell) 방식으로 분류되며, 항공기의 임무 및 운용조건에 적합한 연료전지 시스템이 개발되고 있다. 무인항공기의 경우 대부분 PEM 연료전지 기술을 기반으로 군용 또는 상용으로 활용할 수 있는 다양한 형태와 크기의 항공기가 개발되고 있으며, 시스템의 안정성과 운용시간이 더욱 향상될 것이다. 소형 유인항공기에서는 추진시스템을 연료전지로 대체하기 위한 많은 연구가 수행되고 있으며, 또한 대형 상용 항공기의 보조동력장치(APU)에 연료전지를 적용하여 성능을 높이기 위한 개발이 진행되고 있다. 향후, 연료전지항공기는 연료전지의 전력밀도 증가와 더불어 신뢰성과 효율을 더욱 향상시킬 것으로 기대된다.

직사격형 공동에서 덮개 효과에 대한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Investigation of the Cover-Plates Effects on the Rectangular Open Cavity)

  • The aeroacoustic phenomena in the simple rectangular open cavity are well published by many researchers. But the geometry shapes of aircraft landing gear wells, weapon bays, etc. are more complicate than that of the simple retangular cavity. They are more similar to the cavity having cover-plates at adges, or Helmholtz resonator. Therefore, the effects of cover-plates existing on edges of rectangular open cavity are numerically investigated in this paper. The compressible Navier-Stokes equations are solved for two-dimensional cavities with laminar boundary layers upstream. The high-order and high-resolution numerical schemes are used for the evaluation of spatial derivatives and the time integration. Physically correct numerical boundary conditions and buffer zone techniques are implemented to produce time-accurate solutions in the whole computation domain. The computational domain is large enough to directly resolve a portion of the radiated acoustic field. Results show that the cover-plates existing on edges of cavity reduce the noise convected from cavity, make the frequency of noise become higher, and change the directivity pattern. So these results can be used in the design of a low noise cavity.
