The enzyme expressed from strain L-49 was 2.01 times higher than that of original strain. Strain L-49 can grow on culture plate with $50{\mu}g/mL$ ampicillin. The synthesis of $\alpha$-amylase was greatly suppressed when strain L-49 was grown on monosaccharide such as glucose and polysaccharide at the same time cell concentration was low. Amylase production was enhanced when the bacterium was grown on starch and dextrin. Among different nitrogen sources tried, yeast extract was found to be the best followed by panpeptone, peptone, meat extract, bean meal, and corn steep liquor. The average rate of enzyme production was enhanced for 3~4 times in fermentation time from 24h to 44h. The sugar uptake rate has also increased. Low oxygen supply rate enhanced the rate of strain propagation but depressed the enzyme production. Hence it is benefit to obtain high enzyme activity that agitation speed maintained not lower than 400r/min and aeration rate maintained greater than 1:1vvm.
When strain sensing cables are under long-term stress and cyclic loading, creep may occur in the jacket material and each layer of the cable structure may slide relative to other layers, causing fatigue in the cables. This study proposes a device for testing the fatigue characteristics of three types of cables operating under different conditions to establish a decay model for observing the patterns of strain decay. The fatigue characteristics of cables encased in polyurethane (PU), GFRP-reinforced, and wire rope-reinforced jackets were compared. The findings are outlined as follows. The cable strain decayed exponentially, and the decay process involved quick decay, slow decay, and stabilization stages. Moreover, the strain decay increased with the initial strain and tensile frequency. The shorter the unstrained period was, the more similar the initial strain levels of the strain decay curves were to the stabilized strain levels of the first cyclic elongation. As the unstrained period increased, the initial strain levels of the strain decay curves approached those of the first cyclic elongation. The tested sensing cables differed in the amount and rate of strain decay. The wire rope-reinforced cable exhibited the smallest amount and rate of decay, whereas the GFRP-reinforced cable demonstrated the largest.
In this study, the effect of Nb contents and processing parameters on dynamic recrystallization behaviour of 0.15C-0.2Si-0.5Mn low-carbon steels was investigated. Three kinds of steel specimens with different Nb contents were fabricated and then high-temperature compressive deformation test was conducted by varying reheating temperature (RT), deformation temperature (DT), and strain rate (SR). The Nb2 and Nb4 specimens containing Nb had smaller prior austenite grain size than the Nb0 specimens, presumably due to pinning effect by the formation of carbides and carbonitrides precipitates at austenite grain boundaries. The high-temperature compressive deformation test results showed that dynamic recrystallization behavior was suppressed in the specimens containing Nb as the strain rate increased and deformation temperature decreased because of pinning effect by precipitates, grain boundary dragging effects by solute atoms, although the compressive stress increased with increasing strain rate and decreasing deformation temperature.

In this paper, tensile behavior and low cycle fatigue behavior of 316L stainless steel which is currently favored structural material for several high temperature components such as the liquid metal cooled fast breeder reactor (LMFBR) were investigated. Research was performed at 55$0^{\circ}C$, $600^{\circ}C$ and $650^{\circ}C$ since working temperature of 316L stainless steel in a real field is from 40$0^{\circ}C$ to $650^{\circ}C$. From tensile tests performed by strain controls with $1{\times}10^{-3}/s,\; l{\times}10^{ -4}/s \;and\; 1{\times}10/^{ -5}/ s $ strain rates at each temperature, negative strain rate response (that is, strain hardening decreases as strain rate increases) and negative temperature response were observed. Strain rate effect was relatively small compared with temperature effect. LCF tests with a constant total strain amplitude were performed by strain control with a high temperature extensometer at R.T, 55$0^{\circ}C$, $600^{\circ}C$, $650^{\circ}C$ and total strain amplitudes of 0.3%~0.8% were used and test strain rates were $1{times}10^{-2} /s,\; 1{times}10^{-3} /s\; and\; 1{times}10^{-4} /s$. A new energy based LCF life prediction model which can explain the effects of temperature, strain amplitude and strain rate on fatigue life was proposed and its excellency was verified by comparing with currently used models.

The current understanding for phase/grain boundary sliding and low-temperature/high-strain rate superplasticity of two-phase titanium alloys is summarized. The quantitative analysis on boundary sliding revealed increased sliding resistance on the order of $\alpha/\beta\;\ll\;\alpha/\alpha\;\approx\;\beta/\beta$ boundary, hence, led to the conclusion that approximately 50% alpha(or beta) volume fraction and/or grain refinement is beneficial for obtaining large superplastic elongation at low temperature and/or high strain rate. To predict the temperature for 50% alpha volume in various alpha/beta Ti, artificial neural network was applied. Finally, much enhanced superplasticity was achieved through grain refinement utilizing dynamic globularization.
Two kinds of alumina specimens with different grain size (1 and 51 $\mu\textrm{m}$) but same density were prepared by hot-pressing. Fracture strength and fracture toughness of these specimens at low strain rate, sonic velocity, and elastic property were evaluated. Ballistic performance against Cal. 50 AP projectile was characterized by thick-backing method by using A16061-T6 reference block. Mechanical properties measured at low strain rate showed that the specimen with samll grain (SG) were better than specimen with large grain (LG). Fracture strength and fracture toughness of LG specimen were 131 MPa and 3.01 MPa{{{{ SQRT { m} }}, but those of SG specimen were 349 and 4.23, respectively. Sonic velocity and elastic properties of these specimen were similar, but bulk velocity and bulk modulus were different at amount of 4 and 9%. The tendency of ballistic performance was not consistent with the mechnaical properties at low strain rate. The ballistic performance based on quantitative efficiency revealed that the LG specimen (5.13) was ballistically better than the SG specimen (4.00) in spite of their lower mechanical properties.
The high temperature deformation behavior of $Ni_3Al$ and $Ni_3(Al,Mo)$ single crystals that were oriented near <112> was investigated at low strain rates in the temperature range above the flow stress peak temperature. Three types of behavior were found under the present experimental conditions. In the relatively high strain rate region, the strain rate dependence of the flow stress is small, and the deformation may be controlled by the dislocation glide mainly on the {001} slip plane in both crystals. At low strain rates, the octahedral glide is still active in $Ni_3Al$ above the peak temperature, but the active slip system in $Ni_3(Al,Mo)$ changes from octahedral glide to cube glide at the peak temperature. These results suggest that the deformation rate controlling mechanism of $Ni_3Al$ is viscous glide of dislocations by the <110>{111} slip, whereas that of $Ni_3(Al,Mo)$ is a recovery process of dislocation climb in the substructures formed by the <110>{001} slip. The results of TEM observation show that the characteristics of dislocation structures are uniform distribution in $Ni_3Al$ and subboundary formation in $Ni_3(Al,Mo)$. Activation energies for deformation in $Ni_3Al$ and $Ni_3(Al,Mo)$ were obtained in the low strain rate region. The values of the activation energy are 360 kJ/mol for $Ni_3Al$ and 300 kJ/mol for $Ni_3(Al,Mo)$.

Tensile and LCF(low cycle fatigue) tests were carried out in air at wide temperature range 20$^{\circ}C$-750$^{\circ}C$ and strain rates of 1${\times}$10$\^$-4//s-1${\times}$10$\^$-2/ to ascertain the influence of strain rate on tensile and LCF properties of prior cold worked 316L stainless steel, especially focused on the DSA(dynamic strain aging) regime. Dynamic strain aging induced the change of tensile properties such as strength and ductility in the temperature region 250$^{\circ}C$-600$^{\circ}C$ and this temperature region well coincided with the negative strain rate sensitivity regime. Cyclic stress response at all test conditions was characterized by the initial hardening during a few cycles, followed by gradual softening until final failure. Temperature and strain rate dependence on cyclic softening behavior appears to result from the change of the cyclic plastic deformation mechanism and DSA effect. The DSA regimes between tensile and LCF loading conditions in terms of the negative strain rate sensitivity were well consistent with each other. The drastic reduction in fatigue resistance at elevated temperature was observed, and it was attributed to the effects of oxidation, creep and dynamic strain aging or interactions among them. Especially, in the DSA regime, dynamic strain aging accelerated the reduction of fatigue resistance by enhancing crack initiation and propagation.

The continuous deformation , multistage deformation and stress relaxation were carried out to investigate the strain induced procipitation by torsion tests in the range of 1000∼800$^{\circ}C$, 0.05/sec∼5/sec for V-microalloyed steel. The starting temperature and time for the initiation of precipitation were determined by stress relaxation tests and the distribution of percipitates increased at higher strain rate and the mean size of precipitates was found to be about 50nm. The precipitation starting time decreased with increasing strain rate from 0.05/sec to 5 /sec and pre-strain. The effect of deformation conditions on the no-recrystallization temperature(Tnr) was determined in the multistage deformation with declining temerature. The Tnr decreased with increasing strain and strain rae. In the controlled rolling, grain refinement and precpitation hardening effects could be achieved by the alternative large pass strain at the latter half pass stage under the condition of low temperature and high strain rate.
Sheet metal forming of Mg alloy is usually performed at elevated temperature because of the low formability at room temperature. Therefore, strain rates affected with the forming temperature and speed must be considered as important factor about formability. Effects of process parameters such as various temperatures and forming speeds were investigated in circular cup deep drawing. From the experimental results, it is known that LDR (Limit Drawing Ratio) increase as the strain rate increase. On the contrary, the FLD (Forming Limit Diagram) shows lower value as faster strain rate. Therefore, anisotropy values are investigated according to the temperature and strain rates at each forming temperature. R-values also represent higher value as faster strain rate. It is known that the formability can be different with the deformation mode on warm forming of AZ31 alloy sheet.
