발전설비의 터빈 축정력 (I) : 발전소 적용 사례 (Turbine Alignment (I) : Case Study in th Electronic Power Plant Application)

  • When a shaft is misaligned, a high level of vibration is experienced. As a consequence, the system performance could be low with high level of noise generated. Even, a catastrophic damage of the rotating machinery may happen in the worst situation. The vibration caused by the shaft misalignment is not cured unless a correct alignment of the shaft is investigated. In this paper, a step by step approach for the turbine alignment has been demonstrated. It includes measurement tips of the coupling rim and face, calculation procedure of the bearing level, and the relevant values of the addition and subtration for shims in order to align the shaft level correctly. Then, as an application of the shaft alignment, the turbine system at the Pyung Tek focile electric power plant has been examined. Since the real system consists of high pressure, low pressure turbines and the generator, detailed alignment prolcedures of the multi stage shaft system has been demonstrated.

NREL Phase VI 풍력발전기 저주파 소음방사 특성 (Characteristics of Low Frequency Aero-acoustic Noise Radiation for a Wind Turbine Generator of NREL Phase VI)

  • The purpose of this work is to predict the low frequency aero-acoustic noise generated from the horizontal axis wind turbine, NREL Phase VI using large eddy simulation and Ffowcs-Williams and Hawkings model provided in the commercial code, FLUENT. Calculated aerodynamic performances such as shaft torque and power are compared with experimentally measured value. Performance results show a good agreement with experimental data within about 0.8%. If the distance by two times is changed from 32D to 64D toward the downstream region, sound pressure level is reduced by about 6.4dB.

  • Long Term Asset Management(LTAM) means a plan developed by using LCM(Life Cycle Management) process for optimum life cycle management of significant plant assets at each plant across the fleet. As a part of development of LTAM Strategies on nuclear turbines, a method so as to determine the future failure rates for low pressure turbine facilities at a nuclear plant was studied and developed by using both plant specific and industry-wide performance data. INPO's EPIX data were analyzed and some failure rate evaluation values considering preventive maintenance practices were calculated by using EPRI's PM Basis software. As the result, failure rate functions applicable to a priori and a posteriori replacement of low pressure turbines at a nuclear plant were developed and utilized in an assessment of economics of LCM alternatives on the nuclear turbine facilities in the respects of 40-year and 60-year operation bases.

큰 반경의 원운동을 하는 점 음원에 의한 저주파수 스위싱 음장 분석 (Study on Low Frequency Swishing Sound Field by a Singularity in Circular Motion with Large Radius)

  • In order to investigate low frequency swishing noise of wind turbines, acoustic source model using a singularity in circular motion is introduced to derive analytic solution of Lowson acoustic analogy in time domain. Results in time and frequency domains computed by the solution show apparent modulation of amplitude and frequency. The solution indicates that time histories of acoustic pressure at receiver points varied significantly according to receiver's directional location, even when the retarded time distributions are similar. However, the corresponding time-averaged spectra of sound pressure at the receiver locations where the retarded time distributions are almost same are not significantly different. It can be inferred from these results that the time-averaged sound pressure spectra which cannot take into account the detailed difference in the time-variation of wind turbine noise may not represent the sound quality of wind turbines due to its swishing. Finally, as an introduction of procedure to quantify low frequency swishing noise level, relative variation of overall sound pressure level is obtained using tonal low frequency noise model.

  • 실험에서 측정변수에 발생되는 불확도가 터빈 전효율의 불확도에 미치는 영향을 실험을 통하여 분석하였다. 단단 축류형 3차원 터빈이 실험에 사용되었으며 평균반경에서 반동도가 0.373이며 상온 저압 상태에서 실험이 수행되었다. 입구/출구전압력에 의하여 발생되는 불확도는 터빈 전효율의 불확도로 전파되는 영향이 상당히 크게 나타나므로 상온저압시험에서는 높은 정밀도를 갖는 압력계가 필요하게 된다. 측정변수의 불확도가 전효율의 불확도에 차지하는 영향은 토오크에 의하여 발생되는 불확도가 가장 크게 나타났으며 회전수에 의한 불확도가 가장 적었다. 토오크의 불확도 영향은 회전수의 증가에 따라 증가하는 경향이 있다. 전압력의 경우는 출구측에서의 불확도가 입구측에 비하여 영향력이 크게 나타났다.

  • A steam turbine is one of propulsion systems of a LNG carrier, which consists of high pressure (HP) and low pressure (LP) turbines. In order to obtain high power, each one has the form of a multi-stage turbine. Especially, the first stage of a HP turbine is Curtis stage and uses partial admission considering the turbine efficiency. The performance of a HP turbine can be predicted by a mean-line analysis method, because the relatively large value of hub-tip ratio makes the three-dimensional losses small. In this study, a performance analysis method is developed for a multi-stage HP turbine using Chen's loss model developed for the transonic steam turbines. To consider the feature of partial admission, different partial admission models are reviewed, This analysis method can be used in partial load conditions as well as full load condition. The calculation results are also compared with the CFD results about some simple cases to check the accuracy of the program. Performance of two HP turbine models are calculated, and the calculation results are compared with the designed data. The comparison shows the qualitative performance analysis result.

소형 가스터빈 연소기 고공환경 점화 시험 설비 구축 및 검증 실험 (Construction of a High-Altitude Ignition Test Facility for a Small Gas-turbine Combustor)

  • 본 연구에서는 가스터빈 연소기의 고공환경 모사 점화 성능 시험을 목적으로 소형 고공환경 모사 시험 설비를 구축하였고 이에 대한 성능 실험을 수행하였다. 고공환경 조건인 저압 환경 구현을 위해서는 초음속 디퓨저를 사용하였고, 저온 환경 구현을 위해서는 드라이아이스를 냉각제로 사용한 열교환기를 사용하였다. 저압 환경 구현 성능 실험 결과 연소기로 20g/s의 공기 공급 상태에서도 연소기 내부에 고도 약 6,100m에 해당하는 저압 환경 구현이 가능한 것을 확인하였다. 또한 저온 환경 구현 성능 실험 결과 연소실 내부에 고도 6,100m 이상의 저온 환경 구현이 가능한 것을 알 수 있었으며, 상온공기와 냉각공기의 혼합율 조절로 다양한 고도의 저온 환경 구현이 가능한 것을 확인하였다.

Influence of Blade Number on the Flow Characteristics in the Vertical Axis Propeller Hydro Turbine

  • In this paper, the design method of a low-head propeller-type hydro turbine is studied for various numbers of blades on an axial propeller. We also investigate the relationship between geometrical parameters and internal performance parameters, such as angular velocities (100, 200, 300, 400 rpm) and 2.5~4m low heads through a three-dimensional numerical method with the SST turbulent model. The numerical results showed that the blade number had a more dominant influence than the change in heads and rotational speed on the flow characteristics of the turbine. The distributions of pressure and velocity in the streamwise direction of the propeller turbine were graphically depicted. Especially, the relationship among dimensionless parameters like specific speed ($N_s$), flow coefficient (${\phi}$) and power coefficient (P) were investigated.

  • This study is to develop a 1kW-class small wind turbine blade which will be applicable to relatively low speed regions. For this blade, a high efficiency wind turbine blade is designed and a light and low cost composite structure blade is adopted considering fatigue life. In this study, shape design of 1kW-class small wind turbine blade for hybrid power generation system is carried out by BEMT(blade element momentum theory). X-FOIL open software was used to acquire lift and drag coefficients of the 2D airfoils used in power prediction procedure. Moreover, pressure and velocity distributions are investigated according to TSR by CFD analysis.

NREL Phase VI 수평축 풍력터빈의 저주파 공력소음 해석에 관한 수치적 연구 (A Numerical Study on Analysis of Low Frequency Aero-acoustic Noise for a HAWT of NREL Phase VI)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 수평축 풍력터빈인 NREL Phase VI를 대상으로 ANSYS FLUENT에서 제공하는 LES와 FW-H 상사식을 이용하여 풍력발전기로부터 방사되는 저주파 공력소음을 수치적으로 예측하는 것이다. 풍력발전기 공력소음에 관한 어떠한 실험적 자료가 존재하지 않으므로, 먼저 정격풍속에서 토크와 출력 등의 공력성능 수치결과를 실험결과와 비교하여 소음원 예측의 타당성을 검증한 후, 풍속 변화에 따른 공력소음 특성을 분석하였다. 그 결과 수치성능결과는 약0.8%이내에서 실험결과와 잘 일치하였다. 풍속이 증가함에 따라 사극자와 이극자에 의한 총음압레벨은 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 또한 풍력터빈 허브중심으로부터 거리가 증가함에 따라 원방에서는 $r^{-1}$, 근방에서는 $r^{-2}$에 비례하여 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 거리가 두배 증가함에 따른 총음압레벨은 약 6dB 감소하였다.
