  • Single phase induction motor is used widely in various electronic appliances by advantage that is simple structure and a low-cost. As high starting torque characteristic is mostly used capacitor run single phase induction motor. In this paper, it is applied that speed controller of Capacitor run single phase induction motor of digital way used general microprocessor, and phase control method used average voltage. Torque get non-linearity to domain of low speed. Unstable domain of low speed is applied of integral cycle control. so it is wide that Speed control domain. Also, PID controller is used to improve characteristic of fast response. The validity of proposed method is verified from simulation and experiment result

Application of Ionic Liquids Based on 1-Ethyl-3-Methylimidazolium Cation and Fluoroanions to Double-Layer Capacitors

  • Ionic liquids based on l-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium cation $(EMI^+)$ and inorganic or organic anions containing fluorine atoms were applied to electrolyte materials for double-layer capacitors. The double-layer capacitors composed of a pair of activated carbon electrodes and an ionic liquid selected from $EMIBF_4,\; EMINbF_6,\;EMITaF_6,\;EMICF_3SO_3,\;EMI(CF_3SO_2)_2N,\;and\;EMI(C_2F_5SO_2)_2N$ showed inferior low-temperature characteristics to those of a conventional nonaqueous electrolyte based on propylene carbonate (PC) solvent. On the other hand, the capacitor using $EMIF{\cdot}2.3HF$ showed excellent low-temperature characteristics due to its high conductivity at low temperatures, however, it had a lower working voltage $(\~2V)$ than the conventional nonaqueous counterpart $(\~3V)$.

  • Higher frequency of energy transfer or at least energy conversion has to be used in order to reduce the size of inductors and capacitors required in the power supplies. Conventional PWM switching-mode power supplies have a limitation of operating frequency due to switching losses in the switching transistors and rectifier diodes. Means of reducing switching losses have been developed for high-frequency resonant amplifiers or more exactly dc/ac inverters. Because of smooth current and voltage waveforms resonant convertesrs havelower device switching losses and stresses lower electromagnetic interference(EMI) and lower noise than PWM converters. Therefore in this paper design equations of Classs E resonant low dv/dt rectifier with a series resonant capacitor drived using Fourier series techniques. The theory is compared with simulation results obtained for the rectifier operating at 10[MHz] ac input and 5[V] coutput.

  • Voltage and harmonic stability characteristics of capacitor commutated converters applied to a BTB (back to back) system (CCC-BTB) are analyzed and compared to characteristics of a BTB system composed of conventional line commutated converters (LCC-BTB). About 1.6 times larger safe operating regions can be obtained for the CCC-BTB system compared to the latter. The CCC-BTB system results in no harmonic instability problem as it has no shunt reactive compensators in the station and the adjoining AC system generates no low anti-res onance points.

  • For transferring the primary power to the secondary one, the high frequency series resonant converter has been widely used for the contactless power supply system. However, the high frequency series resonant converter has the disadvantages such as the low efficiency, the high voltage gain characteristics and deviation of the phase angle in the overall load range. To improve this disadvantage, In this paper, the characteristics of the high efficiency and unit voltage gain as well as in phase are revealed in the proposed three-level LCLC ( Inductor - Capacitor - Inductor -Capacitor)resonant converter. The results are verified on the simulation based on the theoretical analysis and the 4kW experimental prototype.

  • A ZVZCS(Zero Voltage and Zero Current Switching) Three Level DC/DC Converter is presented to secondary auxiliary circuit. The new converter presented in this paper used a phase shift control with a flying capacitor in the primary side to achieve ZVS for the outer switch. A secondary auxiliary circuit, which consists of one small capacitor two small diode and one coupled inductor is added in the secondary to provides ZVZCS conditions to primary switches, ZVS for outer switches and ZCS for inner switches. Many advantages including simple circuit topology high efficiency, and low cost make the new converter attractive for high power applications. The principle of operation, feature and design considerations are illustrated and verified through the experiment with a 1kW 50kHz IGBT based experimental circuit.

  • Buck converter must operate at fairly high switching frequency for miniaturizing a whole circuit and achieving a fast response. However, at the conditions of low output voltage, high output current, and high switching frequency, the influence of parasitic elements to circuit operation will become extremely obvious. In this paper, it has been shown that these parasitic elements of output capacitor link the ripple of the output voltage. The MCP capacitors and aluminum electrolytic capacitors are applied to the buck converter and observed characteristics and the experimental results were reported.

  • This paper proposes a novel control strategy of SVC(Static var compensator) using cascade multilevel inverter. To control the reactive power instantaneously, the dq-dynamic system model is described and analyzed. A single pulse pattern based on the SHE(Selective Harmonic Elimination) technique is determined from the look-up table to reduce the line current harmonics and a rotating fundamental frequency switching scheme is applied to adjust the DC capacitor voltage at the scheme level. From the simulation, it is verified that this proposed control scheme make the dynamic control response of SVC fast, the current harmonics low, and the DC capacitor voltage balanced.

  • GSM 셀룰러폰을 위한 저전압 고선형 바이폴라 OTA와 이룡 이용한 IF bandpass filter(BPF)를 제안하였다. OTA는 저전압 선형 transconductor, translinear 전류이득 셀, 그리고 3개의 전류 미러로 구성 되어있다. BPF는 2개의 동일한 2차 BPF를 직렬 연결한 형태인데, 2차 BPF는 저항과 커패시터 그리고 2개의 OTA와 커패시터로 된 ground simulated inductor로 구성되어 있다. 8GHz bipolar transistor-array를 사용한 SPICE 시뮬레이션에서는 1mS의 transconductance의 OTA가 ${\pm}2%$ 이하의 선형 오차와 ${\pm}2\;V$에서 ${\pm}0.65\;V$이상의 선형범위를 가짐을 보여준다. transconductor의 온도계수는 $-90ppm/^{\circ}C$이하이다. BPF는 중심 주파수는 $85MHz\;Q$값은 80이 되도록 설계하였다. 중심주파수에서의 온도계수는 $-182ppm/^{\circ}C$이고, BPF의 소비전력은 128mW 이다.

Single-Phase Self-Excited Induction Generator with Static VAR Compensator Voltage Regulation for Simple and Low Cost Stand-Alone Renewable Energy Utilizations Part I : Analytical Study

  • In this paper, the comparative steady-state operating performance analysis algorithms of the stand-alone single-phase self-excited induction generator (SEIG) is presented on the basis of the two nodal admittance approaches using the per-unit frequency in addition to a new state variable de-fined by the per-unit slip frequency. The main significant features of the proposed operating circuit analysis with the per-unit slip frequency as a state variable are that the fast effective solution could be achieved with the simple mathematical computation effort. The operating performance results in the simulation of the single-phase SEIG evaluated by using the per-unit slip frequency state variable are compared with those obtained by using the per-unit frequency state variable. The comparative operating performance results provide the close agreements between two steady-state analysis performance algorithms based on the electro-mechanical equivalent circuit of the single-phase SEIG. In addition to these, the single-phase static VAR compensator; SVC composed of the thyristor controlled reactor; TCR in parallel with the fixed excitation capacitor; FC and the thyristor switched capacitor; TSC is ap-plied to regulate the generated terminal voltage of the single-phase SEIG loaded by a variable inductive passive load. The fixed gain PI controller is employed to adjust the equivalent variable excitation capacitor capacitance of the single-phase SVC.
