In this study, on-site testing was carried out to investigate the vibration performance of a composite steel-bar truss slab with steel girder system. Ambient vibration was performed to capture the primary vibration parameters (natural frequencies, damping ratios, and mode shapes). The composite floor possesses low frequency (< 10 Hz) and damping (< 2%). Based on experimental, theoretical, and numerical analyses on natural frequencies and mode shapes, the boundary condition of SCSC (i.e., two opposite edges simply-supported and the other two edges clamped) is deemed more reasonable for the composite floor. Walking excitations by one person (single excitation), two persons (dual excitation), and three persons (triple excitation) were considered to evaluate the vibration serviceability of the composite floor. The measured acceleration results show a satisfactory vibration perceptibility. For design convenience and safety, a crest factor ${\beta}_{rp}$ describing the ratio of peak acceleration to root-mean-square acceleration induced from the walking excitations is proposed. The comparisons of the modal parameters determined by ambient vibration and walking tests reveal the interaction effect between the human excitation and the composite floor.

This paper presents the reduction of acoustic noise generated by electromagnetic force in an induction motor of the electrical forklift. After summarizing the electromagnetic excitation forces due to the interaction between the stator/rotor slot permeance and the stator winding magnetomotive force, the effects of the electromagnetic force on the noise and vibration of an induction motor are analyzed. In order to experimentally identify the noise sources of the motor, the signal analyses for noise and vibration are performed by using waterfall plots of noise and vibration spectrums. It is found that severe noise and vibration are caused by the electromagnetic force when the mode number of the excitation shape for a stator is low. Furthermore, it is verified that the motor noise is amplified if the excitation frequency of the electromagnetic force coincides with one of the natural frequencies of the stator. It is experimentally demonstrated that this severe noise can be considerably reduced by structure modifications. Finally, some design guidelines are suggested to develop an induction motor with a low level of noise.

Through the multibody dynamic simulation, the analysis model of the modalohr freight car of the DMT freight car was developed. By using the developed analysis model, the running dynamic characteristics was inquired through the dynamic analysis about the modalohr freight car. As the running speed and the primary suspension were increased, the lateral and vertical vibration accelerations of the car-body and the bogie were also increased. In case of the lateral vibration acceleration of the car-body, however, review should be considered since it can be influenced by the nonlinear characteristic of the primary suspension. The lateral and vertical vibration of the car-body were generated at the frequency of $2{\sim}3\;Hz$ and $7{\sim}8\;Hz$. And the lateral and vertical vibration of the bogie were generated at the frequency of $25{\sim}35\;Hz$ at the low speed section, $40{\sim}50\;Hz$ at the high speed section.
As a vital component of power grids, long-span transmission tower-line systems are vulnerable to wind load excitation due to their high flexibility and low structural damping. Therefore, it is essential to reduce wind-induced responses of tower-line coupling systems to ensure their safe and reliable operation. To this end, a shape memory alloy-bidirectional tuned mass damper (SMA-BTMD) is proposed in this study to reduce wind-induced vibrations of long-span transmission tower-line systems. A 1220 m Songhua River long-span transmission system is selected as the primary structure and modeled using ANSYS software. The vibration suppression performance of an optimized SMA-BTMD attached to the transmission tower is evaluated and compared with the effects of a conventional bidirectional tuned mass damper. Furthermore, the impacts of frequency ratios and SMA composition on the vibration reduction performance of the SMA-BTMD are evaluated. The results show that the SMA-BTMD provides superior vibration control of the long-span transmission tower-line system. In addition, changes in frequency ratios and SMA composition have a substantial impact on the vibration suppression effects of the SMA-BTMD. This research can provide a reference for the practical engineering application of the SMA-BTMD developed in this study.
The pipping system is widely used in many industries as equipment for transporting fluids over long distances. In high-pressure pipe, as the speed of the fluid increases, a loud noise is generated. Therefore, various studies have been conducted to reduce pipe noise. In this paper, a pipe noise analysis was developed to predict and quantitatively assess the flow-induced vibration and acoustic-induced vibration due to valve flow in high-temperature and high-pressure. To do this, a high-fidelity fluid analysis technique was developed for predicting internal flow in the pipe with valve. In additional, the contribution of compressible/incompressible pressure by frequency band was evaluated using the wavenumber-frequency analysis. To predict a low/middle frequency pipe noise, the vibroacoustic analysis method was developed based on Finite Element Method (FEM). And the pipe noise prediction method for the middle/high frequency was developed based on Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA).

This paper deals with the natural frequency analysis and two experiments to evaluate first twisting and bending natural frequency of railway vehicle. The KS R 9228 testing method is generally performed as pseudo FRF(frequency response function) which is widely used by two accelerometers. The exciting method is utilized using the load weight(1 ton release). The modal testing is used to verify KS R 9228 testing result and the natural frequency analysis result. The first twisting and bending natural frequency should be above 10 Hz by resonance which is mostly generated between bogie and vehicle frame exciting low frequency. The first twisting and bending natural frequency of railway vehicle are successfully verified between analysis and test.

Vibration of compressor in the air-conditioner outdoor unit have known to be main noise source radiated from outdoor unit. However, as the operating speed of compressor increase, the relative contribution of flow induced vibration and noise is also increase. In this paper, the numerical method was established to predict fluid-borne noise from compressor discharging pipe of air-conditioner outdoor unit. In this step, numerical result was compared to experimental one to verify numerical method. Additionally, the effects of pressure pulsation of compressor and compressor vibration into radiated noise were investigated in frequency domain. It was confirmed that the compressor vibration contributed to the low frequency band, while the pressure pulsation dose to the high frequency band.
Modal identification of civil engineering structures based on ambient vibration measurement has been widely investigated in the past decades, and a variety of output-only operational modal identification methods have been proposed. However, vibration modes, even fundamental low-order modes, are not always identifiable for large-scale structures under ambient vibration excitation. The identifiability of vibration modes, deficiency in modal identification, and criteria to evaluate robustness of the identified modes when applying output-only modal identification techniques to ambient vibration responses were scarcely studied. In this study, the mode identifiability of the cable-stayed Ting Kau Bridge using ambient vibration measurements and the influence of the excitation intensity on the deficiency and robustness in modal identification are investigated with long-term monitoring data of acceleration responses acquired from the bridge under different excitation conditions. It is observed that a few low-order modes, including the second global mode, are not identifiable by common output-only modal identification algorithms under normal ambient excitations due to traffic and monsoon. The deficient modes can be activated and identified only when the excitation intensity attains a certain level (e.g., during strong typhoons). The reason why a few low-order modes fail to be reliably identified under weak ambient vibration excitations and the relation between the mode identifiability and the excitation intensity are addressed through comparing the frequency-domain responses under normal ambient vibration excitations and under typhoon excitations and analyzing the wind speeds corresponding to different response data samples used in modal identification. The threshold value of wind speed (generalized excitation intensity) that makes the deficient modes identifiable is determined.
An industrial vibratory conveyor system is devised for large-scale feeding by the low-power, using natural frequency of the system. The important thing in this system is to determine the natural frequency and to drive by it. The purpose of this study is to build up reliance on the system with changing of element parameters for vibration characteristics of balancing type vibratory conveyor by using F.E.M. modeling. For investigating the natural frequency, modal testing is performed by using impact hammer, accelerometer and LMS/Vibration Analysis System. Experimental results are compared with F.E.M results. The results of the comparisons within the errors of less than 2 percent can verify the reliability of the F.E.M. analysis of the system. Also we can verify that the characteristics of natural frequency have linearly decreased(-6%) as adding the mass($50{\sim}600kg$). We can find that controlling driving frequency is necessary for triggering the natural frequency, but natural frequency is less affected by adding the mass on the balancing weight.

Vibration transmitted through rolling tire is a major source of road noise in vehicle interior noise on the range of low frequency.($0{\sim}500Hz$) Among various road noises, tire cavity noise has very peak on $200{\sim}250Hz$. And generally it is generated by cavity resonance of tire. In this paper, tire cut-sample is used to calculate the tire cavity frequency. Cavity resonance frequency of tire is measured through vertical/tangential forces at load cell of axle using drum cleat impact. This method is useful to find cavity peak because measured forces do not have complex peaks. And changing the test conditions (air inflation, loads), tire cavity resonance characteristics are identified. Finally, vehicle interior noise is measured as tire/vehicle are changing. As difference of tire vertical force is bigger, interior noise level is higher at cavity frequency. Also we can assume that vehicle sensitivity is important factor at tire cavity noise.
