In this paper, we present the hardware implementation of a smart antenna test-bed for a real -time performance analysis of the beam-forming algorithm operating in a wide-band CDMA environments of the WLL(Wireless Local Loop) standard. The test-bed introduced in this paper includes an external PC and signal generating module as well as the beam-forming module in order to perform, analyze, and evaluate the performance of the proposed smart antenna system. In the beam-forming module, the optimal weight vector is provided by the modified CGM algorithm. The computed weight vector is transferred back to the external PC for the performance analysis based on the off-line processing. From our analysis obtained in the hardware of the test-bed, it is concluded that the proposed smart antenna system for the WLL system is appropriate for enhancing the communication quality and capacity tremendously at the cell-site of the CDMA environment.
This study analyzed by simulation using TRNSYS as well as by experiment on the solar district heating system installed for the first time for the district heating system in Bundang. Simulation analysis using TRNSYS focused on the thermal behavior and long-term thermal efficiency of solar system. Experiment carried out for the reliability of simulation system. This solar system where the circuits of two different collectors, flat plate and vacuum tube collector, are connected in series by a collector heat exchanger, and the collection characteristics of each circuit varies. Therefore, these differences must be considered for the system's control. This system uses variable flow rate control in order to obtain always setting temperature of hot water by solar system. Specifically, this is a system that heats returning district heating water (DHW) at approximately $60^{\circ}C$ using a solar collector without a storage tank, up to the setting temperature of approximately $85{\sim}95^{\circ}C$ To realize this, a flat plate collector and a vacuum tube collector are used as separate collector loops. The first heating is performed by a flat plate collector loop and the second by a vacuum tube collector loop. In a gross collector area basis, the mean system efficiency, for 4 years, of a flat plate collector is 33.4% and a vacuum tube collector is 41.2%. The yearly total collection energy is 2,342GJ and really collection energy per unit area ($m^2$) is 1.92GJ and 2.37GJ respectively for the flat plate vacuum tube collector. This result is very important on the share of each collector area in this type of solar district heating system.

This paper proposes a confronting feedback control structure and controllers for positive output elementary super lift Luo converters (POESLLCs) working in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). The POESLLC offers the merits like high voltage transfer gain, good efficiency, and minimized coil current and capacitor voltage ripples. The POESLLC working in DCM holds the value of not having right half pole zero (RHPZ) in their control to output transfer function unlike continuous conduction mode (CCM). Also the DCM bestows superlative dynamic response, eliminates the reverse recovery troubles of diode and retains the stability. The proposed control structure involves two controllers respectively to control the voltage (outer) loop and the current (inner) loop to confront the time-varying ON/OFF characteristics of variable structured systems (VSSs) like POESLLC. This study involves two different combination of feedback controllers viz. the proportional integral controller (PIC) plus sliding mode controller (SMC) and the fuzzy logic controller (FLC) plus SMC. The state space averaging modeling of POESLLC in DCM is reviewed first, then design of PIC, FLC and SMC are detailed. The performance of developed controller combinations is studied at different working states of the POESLLC system by MATLAB-Simulink implementation. Further the experimental corroboration is done through implementation of the developed controllers in PIC 16F877A processor. The prototype uses IRF250 MOSFET, IR2110 driver and UF5408 diodes. The results reassured the proficiency of designed FLC plus SMC combination over its counterpart PIC plus SMC.

In this paper the Gamma guidance law, which was used for IUS (Inertial Upper Stage), is applied for solid-motor guidance of a upper stage of a satellite launch vehicle. The RCS (Reaction Control System), which activates after burnout of the upper stage, is employed for the convergence of the guidance algorithm and compensation of velocity errors induced by the solid motor. The algorithm is also simplified by replacing the time-consuming numerical integration process to predict final vehicle states with Keplerian trajectories. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated by conducting 3-DOF computer simulations for off-nominal flight conditions. The numerical results show that Gamma guidance can reduce the orbit injection accuracy in comparison with that obtained by applying open-loop commands.

The results of control law design for a tilt-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle that has a nacelle mounted wing extension (WE) are presented in this paper. It consists of a control surface mixer, stability and control augmentation system (SCAS), hold mode for altitude / speed / heading, and a guidance mode for preprogram and point navigation which includes automatic take-off and landing. The conversion corridor and the control moments derivatives between the original tilt-rotor and its variant of the nacelle mounted WE were compared to show the effectiveness of the WE. The nacelle conversion of the original tilt-rotor starts when the airspeed is greater than 30 km/h but its WE variant starts at 0 km/h in order to reduce the drag caused by the high incidence angle of the WE. The stability margins of the inner loop are presented with the optimization approach. The outer loops for the hold mode are designed with trial and error methods with linear and nonlinear simulation. The main control parameter for altitude control of the helicopter mode is thrust command and it is transferred to the pitch attitude command in airplane mode. Otherwise, the control parameter for the speed of the helicopter mode is the pitch attitude command and it is transferred to the thrust command in airplane mode. Therefore the speed and altitude hold mode are coupled to each other and are engaged at the same time when an internal pilot engages any of the altitude or speed hold modes. The nonlinear simulation results of the guidance control for the preprogrammed mode and point navigation are also presented including automatic take-off and landing in order to prove the full control law.

To develop a new nuclear fuel, it needs to make a test fuel rod and carry out burn-up test in the test loop of a research reactor to check the irradiation characteristics of the nuclear fuel. At that time, several sensors such as thermocouples, LVDTs and SPNDs are needed to be attached in and out of the fuel rod and connect them with instrumentation cables. Then, the instrumentation cables deliver the signals measured by the sensors to the measuring device located outside of the reactor pool. In particular, to install a thermocouple in a fuel rod, it needs to drill off holes on the alumina blocks and sintered $UO_2$ pellets. However, because the hardness of a sintered $UO_2$ pellet is 700 Hv (or HRC 61) and that of an alumina block is 1480 Hv, a special drilling machine which adapts a diamond coated drill bit had developed. In this study, several case experiments have been carried out to find an optimal drilling condition of the drilling machine. And, using the optimal drilling condition, minimum numbers of the holes that a drill bit can drill off are verified.
In this study, we used the big data of Voice of Customer (VOC) related to high-speed Internet products to look at the causes of perceived quality and the possibility of proactive service. In order to verify the possibility of proactive service, we collected VOC data from 13 facilities and equipment of a mobile communication service company, and then conducted 𝒙2 test to verify that there was a statistically significant difference between the actual VOC observation values and expected values. We found statistical evidence that proactive service is possible through real-time monitoring for the six disability alarms among the 13 facilities and equipment, which are FTTH-R Equipment ON/OFF, FTTH-EV Line Error Detection, Port Faulty, FTTH-R Line Error Detection, Network Loop Detection, and Abnormal Limiting Traffic. Companies are able to adopt the proactive service to improve their market share and to reduce customer service costs. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the actual application of industry in that it has diagnosed the possibility of proactive service in the telecommunication service sector and further suggested suggestions on how to provide effective proactive service.

The wetlands are facing environmental changes such as desiccation that occurs with the passage of time and reduced ecosystem services from wetlands in the city. In order to maintain the ecosystem services provided by wetlands in urban areas, a system thinking about the trade-off phenomenon of ecosystem services occurring as the wetlands undergo environmental changes is needed. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop strategies for wetland design using system thinking approach to enhance the resilience of ecosystem services degraded by the desiccation of wetlands and other disturbances. The objectives of this study include the system boundary and variables. Second, analyzing the dynamics of wetland design strategy. Third, it analyzes the trade-off phenomenon of ecosystem services in terms of the hydrology, hydric soil, and plants strategies to mitigate these effects. Fourth, wetland basic design to improve the resilience of ecosystem services. A wetland in Abuk-Mountain Neighborhood Park, Miryang-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, has been selected as a case study. Causal loop diagrams(CLDs) are used to analyze feedback in the wetland regime. In summary, hydrology, hydric soil, and plants is suggested as system boundaries to design plan. Design strategies for the wetland focused on robustness, redundancy, rapidity, and resourcefulness as a result of CLD analysis are first proposed in order to effectively maintain the wetland regime over the long term. Secondly, in a section related to hydrology, the CLD results show the trade-offs between provisioning-cultural services and regulating services. In order to control these services, a "water cycling system" has been implemented due to its strength in terms of robustness. The CLDs for hydric soil showed the trade-offs between regulating services and supporting services. An "installation of storm drainage for maintaining water levels" was selected due to the strength offered in terms of redundancy and rapidity. The CLDs for plants showed the trade-offs between provisioning - cultural services and regulating services. In order to control the strategic points, the "planting of indigenous vegetation" was suggested given the strength in terms of redundancy. In this study, a wetland design method is proposed that can improve the resilience of wetland ecosystem services by analyzing the dynamics overtime. The results of this research can theoretically be applied to help restore ecosystem services in wetlands using ecological landscape design. In addition, this study will contribute to reducing maintenance costs by improving wetland resilience.

The clock recovery module of gap filler for satellite DMB is proposed. Proposed module sustains the output frequency of 10 MHz whether the received signal from the satellite is unstable or cut off within 0.5 sec. The advantages of this module is without frequency tuning at regular interval and low material cost. This module is fabricated by using CPLD as clock recovery IC and new type of loop filter for satisfying the fast lock time and long hold over time simultaneously. The measured performance of the fabricated module has a holdover time of 11 sec at frequency stability less than 0.01 ppm, and phase noise of -113 dBc/Hz at 100 Hz offset.

This paper introduces a vision-based on-line fabric inspection methodology of woven textile fabrics. Current procedure for determination of fabric defects in the textile industry is performed by human in the off-line stage. The advantage of the on-line inspection system is not only defect detection and identification, but also 벼ality improvement by a feedback control loop to adjust set-points. The proposed inspection system consists of hardware and software components. The hardware components consist of CCD array cameras, a frame grabber and appropriate illumination. The software routines capitalize upon vertical and horizontal scanning algorithms characteristic of a particular deflect. The signal to noise ratio (SNR) calculation based on the results of the wavelet transform is performed to measure any deflects. The defect declaration is carried out employing SNR and scanning methods. Test results from different types of defect and different style of fabric demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed inspection system.
