Joint latent class analysis for longitudinal data: an application on adolescent emotional well-being

  • This study proposes generalized models of joint latent class analysis (JLCA) for longitudinal data in two approaches, a JLCA with latent profile (JLCPA) and a JLCA with latent transition (JLTA). Our models reflect cross-sectional as well as longitudinal dependence among multiple latent classes and track multiple class-sequences over time. For the identifiability and meaningful inference, EM algorithm produces maximum-likelihood estimates under local independence assumptions. As an empirical analysis, we apply our models to track the joint patterns of adolescent depression and anxiety among US adolescents and show that both JLCPA and JLTA identify three adolescent emotional well-being subgroups. In addition, JLCPA classifies two representative profiles for these emotional well-being subgroups across time, and these profiles have different tendencies according to the parent-adolescent-relationship subgroups.

계측자료를 이용한 터널의 종단변형도 (Longitudinal Deformation Profile in Tunnel using Measured Data)

  • 기존의 연구에서 터널 종단변형도는 대부분 수치해석적 방법으로 구해졌으나, 본 논문에서는 실제 계측치를 이용하여 종단변형도를 구성하고 굴착에 따른 터널의 종단변위 발생 경향을 검토하였다. 막장전방의 변위는 수평경사계 계측치의 최대변위에 대한 지점 변위를 비교 분석하여 가장 적합한 결과를 나타내는 지점의 변위를 채택하였고, 막장 후방은 천단변위계에 의한 계측치를 회귀분석하여 구하였다. 연구 대상 터널의 계측치로 천단변위를 분석한 결과, 막장 3D 이전부터 변위가 발생하였고, 막장에서는 수치해석적으로 구한 내공 변위에 비해 10%, 정도 높은 약 40%의 변위가 발생하였으며, 막장 후방 4D 이후 최종변위에 수렴하는 것으로 나타났다.

A new formulation for calculation of longitudinal displacement profile (LDP) on the basis of rock mass quality

  • Longitudinal Displacement Profile (LDP) is an appropriate tool for determination of the displacement magnitude of the tunnel walls as a function of the distance to the tunnel face. Some useful formulations for calculation of LDP have been developed based on the monitoring data on site or by 3D numerical simulations. However, the presented equations are only based on the tunnel dimensions and for different quality of rock masses proposed a unique LDP. In the present study, it is tried to present a new formulation, for calculation of LDP, on the basis of Rock mass quality. For this purpose, a comprehensive numerical simulation program was developed to investigate the effect of rock mass quality on the LDP. Results of the numerical modelling were analyzed and the least square technique was used for fitting an appropriate curve on the derived data from the numerical simulations. The proposed formulation in the present study, is a logistic function and the constants of the logistic function were predicted by rock mass quality index (GSI). Results of this study revealed that, the LDP curves of the tunnel surrounded by rock masses with high quality (GSI>60) match together; because the rock mass deformation varies over an elastic range.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the chronologic changes of the soft tissue profile in 6 to 11 years children. The author analyzed 174 cephalometric roentgenograms of 13 boys and 16 girls taken from the ages of 6 to 11 to assess the growth changes of the soft tissue profile. The results were obtained as follow: 1. Means, standard deviation and coefficient of variation of children were obtained. 2. Items which showed difference between males and females in longitudinal study were prn. Sn. A', and Ls that were greater than females variation. 3. With age, thickness of the soft tissue were increased except Ls. 4. Nasolabial angle and facial convexity had no significant change with age and sex.

경시적 영과잉 가산자료와 생존자료의 결합모형 (A joint modeling of longitudinal zero-inflated count data and time to event data)

  • 시간의 흐름에 따라 관측되는 경시적(longitudinal) 자료의 경우, 경시적 자료와 생존(survival) 자료가 종종 동시에 수집된다. 이 때 경시적 자료에서 발생하는 결측이 생존자료와의 연관성으로 인해 발생한 무시할 수 없는 결측(non-ignorable missing)이라면, 경시적 자료분석 방법만으로는 두 자료 간의 연관성을 고려하지 않아 독립변수에 대한 효과는 편향된 결과를 얻게 된다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 결측의 원인이 생존시간과 연관되어 있으므로 생존모형을 고려하여 불편추정량을 얻기 위해 경시적 자료와 생존자료의 결합모형에 대한 연구가 이루어져 왔다. 본 논문은 경시적 자료의 형태가 영이 많이 존재하는 영과잉 가산자료(zero-inflated count data)와 생존자료의 결합모형을 연구하였다. 경시적 영과잉 가산자료와 생존자료는 각각 허들모형(hurdle model)과 비례위험모형(proportional hazards model)의 부 모형을 적용하였고, 두 부 모형들의 변량효과가 다변량 정규분포를 따른다는 가정을 통하여 결합하였다. 모수의 최우추정법으로 EM 알고리즘을 활용하였고, 추정된 표준오차를 계산하기 위해 프로파일 우도(profile likelihood)를 이용하였다. 최종적으로 모의실험을 통해 두 부 모형의 변량효과 간 상관관계가 존재하는 경우 결합모형이 개별적 모형보다 편의와 포함확률(coverage probability)의 측면에서 더 우수함을 보였다.

유아-교사 관계의 잠재프로파일 집단이 유아의 또래 상호작용에 미치는 영향에 관한 종단 연구 (Longitudinal Study of Child-Teacher Relationship and Peer Interactions Based on Latent Profile Analysis)

  • This study clarified the maintenance of relationship between children and teachers based on longitudinal data and explored the latent classes. It clarified the latent classes connection with the children's peer play interaction. The subjects of this study were 194 children (aged 3) who attended 11 different kindergartens and daycare centers. We collected data three times (once every 6 months) until they reached age 4. The results of this study were: first, closeness, conflict, and dependence of child-teacher relationship that showed a continuous short-term connection. Second, we classified the child-teacher relationship into three groups according to longitudinal data. Those groups were, 'low level maintenance group' which had the lowest conflict and dependence compared to the highest closeness with teacher, 'middle level maintenance group' which had the teacher relationship in the middle level of the sub element area, and 'high level maintenance group' which showed high conflict and dependence compared to low closeness with the teacher. Third, the group which maintains a longitudinal high conflict.dependence showed more interruption and disruption behavior than the group which maintained a low conflict and dependence. In conclusion, the child-teacher relationship seemed to be the steady characteristic because it showed the early formation of a stable relationship. It was possible to predict the child's peer interaction through an early child-teacher relationship. Teachers need to be educated by the kindergarten and daily care center because the early formation of a child-teacher relationship can be the foundation of child's later peer and teacher relationships.

급변만곡부에서 종방향 유속의 연직분포 (The Vertical Distribution of Longitudinal Velocity in Sharp Open Channel Bends)

  • 종방향 유속의 특성을 파악하기 위해서 중심각이 $180^{\circ}$인 순환수로에서 실험을 수행하였으며, 3차원 유속장 측정은 측방 음파 도플러 유속계를 이용하였다. 기존의 종방향 유속식들의 단점들을 검토하였다. 종방향 운동 방정식에 와점성 개념을 도입하여 새로운 종방향 유속의 연직분포 식을 개발하였다. 종방향 유속의 연직분포들을 비교한 결과 잘 일치함을 보여주고 있으며, 곡선수로에서 곡률의 변화는 종방향 유속의 연직분포 변화 및 최대 유속 발생 지점에 영향을 미치는 것을 발견하였다.

VOB를 이용한 선형 설계 실용화에 대한 연구 (Practical Hull Form Design using VOB)

  • In general, ship hull form design is carried out in two stages. In the first stage, the longitudinal variation of the sectional area curves is adapted from a similar mother ship to determine the volume distribution in ships. At this design stage, the initial design conditions of displacement, longitudinal center of buoyancy, etc. are satisfied and the global hydrodynamic properties of the structure are optimized. The second stage includes the local designing of the sectional forms. Sectional forms are related to the local pressure resistance in the fore- and aft-body shapes, cargo boundaries, interaction between the hull and propeller, etc. These relationships indicate that the hull sections need to be optimized in order to minimize the local resistance. The volumetric balanced (VOB) variation of ship hull forms has been suggested by Kim (2013) as a generalized, systematic variation method for determining the sectional area curves in hull form design. This method is characterized by form parameters and is based on an optimization technique. This paper emphasizes on an extensional function of the VOB considering a geometrical wave profile. We select a container ship and an LNG carrier to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed technique. Through analysis, we confirm that the VOB method, considering the geometrical wave profile, can be used as an efficient tool in the hull form design for ships.

유동방향의 열전도가 전열면의 성능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of longitudinal conduction on the performance of heat transfer surfaces)

  • The effects of longitudinal heat conduction on the performance of heat transfer surfaces are investigated by using a single-blow method. In the transient testing method for determining the heat transfer characteristics, exponential inlet temperature variations are made by using screen-mesh heater with small time constant and low frontal velocities of the test section, and the experimentally determined inlet temperature profile is used as the inlet fluid temperature condition. The effects of longitudinal heat conduction are negligible only if $\gamma^\act<0.05\;and \;N_{tu}\le3$ and should be considered if $N_{tu}\le3$ The test results ate compared with the existing theoretical and experimental data and the validity of this technique is confirmed by the good agreement.

  • The re-enty guidance design involves trajectory optimization, generation of a reference drag acceleration profile with the satisfaction of trajectory constraints. This reference drag acceleration profile can be considered as the reference trajectory. This paper proposes the atmospheric re-entry system which is composed of longitudinal, later and range control. This paper shows the a performance of a re-entry guidance and control system using feedback linearization control and predictive control.
