정보엔트로피 개념에 의한 하천 지형특성인자의 산정 (Estimation of Stream Geomorphological Characteristics Based on the Informational Entropy)

  • 본 연구는 하천종단면에 정보엔트로피이론을 적용하여 평균하천경사, 하천경사 및 하천종단고도 결정방법을 제시하였다. 최대화된 엔트로피는 제약조건하에서 일정한 하천종단면의 확률분포를 만들며, 이와 같은 관계를 이용하여 평균하천경사, 하천경사 및 하천종단고도 산정식을 유도하였다. 충북 지방하천 정비기본계획에서 얻은 달천유역의 실측된 지형학적 인자를 사용하여 매개변수를 최소자승법으로 결정하였다. 유도된 평균하천경사와 하천종단고도식을 실제유역에 적용하였으며, 실측치와 잘 일치함을 나타낸다. 본 연구의 결과로부터 평균하천경사와 하천종단고도의 결정에 직접 적용할수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

가변롤성형 공정을 이용한 단면이 가변하는 프로파일의 형상변수 분석에 관한 연구 (Investigation of Shape Parameters for a Profile with Variable-cross Sections Produced by Flexible Roll Forming)

  • Flexible roll forming allows profiles to have variable cross-sections. However, the profile may have some shape errors, such as, warping which is a major defect. The shape error is induced by geometrical deviations in both the concave zone and the convex zone. In the current study, flexible roll forming was modeled with FE simulations to analyze the shape error and the longitudinal strain distribution along the flange section over the profile. A distribution of analytically calculated longitudinal strains was used to develop relationships between the shape error and the longitudinal strain distribution as a function of the defined shape parameters for the profile. The FE simulations showed that the shape error is primarily affected by the deviations between the distribution of analytically calculated longitudinal strain and the longitudinal strain distribution of the profile. The results show that the shape error can be controlled by designing the shape parameters to control the geometrical deviations at the flange section in the transition zones.

축 평형단면의 형상정의에 의한 대형 스크류 가공프로그램 생성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Generation of Machining Program for Large Screws Defined by Longitudinal-Section Profile)

  • In machining large screws such as those of extruders, it takes long time to machine them on conventional machines which usually use single-tipped fixed tools. And it is also difficult to use an existing CAD/CAM coftware when trying to get over the problems of conventional machines and making use of CNC machines. In this paper, generation of machining program using rotational tools for large screws defined by longitudinal-section profile is descrebed. Use of rotational tools in machining plays an important role in saving machining time. In the sort of extruder screws, it is easy to define a screw shape by longitudinal-section profile, and by which improvement of dimensional accuracy can be expected. The CAM software developed in this paper is based on user's and designer's friendliness.

  • The use of roll-formed products increases every year due to its advantages, such as high production rates, reduced tooling cost and improved quality. However, till now, it is limited to part profiles with constant cross section. In recent years, the flexible roll forming process, which allows variable cross sections of profiles by adaptive roll stands, was developed. In this study, an attempt to optimize profile design for the flexible roll forming process was performed. An equation that predicts the longitudinal strain for part geometries with variable cross-sections was proposed. The relationship between geometrical parameters and the longitudinal strain was analyzed and investigations on the optimal profile design were performed. Experiments were conducted with a lab-scale roll forming machine to validate the proposed equation. The results show that the profile design method proposed in this study is feasible and parts with variable cross sections can be successfully fabricated with the flexible roll forming process.

  • In research on behavioral studies, significant attention has been paid to the stage-sequential process for multiple latent class variables. We now explore the stage-sequential process of multiple latent class variables using the multivariate latent class profile analysis (MLCPA). A latent profile variable, representing the stage-sequential process in MLCPA, is formed by a set of repeatedly measured categorical response variables. This paper proposes the extended MLCPA in order to explain an association between the latent profile variable and the latent group variable as a form of a two-dimensional contingency table. We applied the extended MLCPA to the National Longitudinal Survey on Youth 1997 (NLSY97) data to investigate the association between of developmental progression of depression and substance use behaviors among adolescents who experienced Authoritarian parental styles in their youth.

  • This study was performed to improve the evaluation of the longitudinal roughness index for various profilometers at airport runway. Especially, a laser type of profilemeter subjected to the longitudinal roughness index has been focused. The test result show that a new type of profile index, IRI(International roughness index) resulted from a laser type of profilometer was profitable for airport runway etc.. The present study provides useful results for the improvement of evaluation of the conventional profile index.

Experimental investigations on composite slabs to evaluate longitudinal shear strength

  • Cold-formed steel profile sheets acting as decks have been popularly used in composite slab systems in steel structural works, since it acts as a working platform as well as formwork for concreting during construction stage and also as tension reinforcement for the concrete slab during service. In developing countries like India, this system of flooring is being increasingly used due to the innate advantage of these systems. Three modes of failure have been identified in composite slab such as flexural, vertical shear and longitudinal shear failure. Longitudinal shear failure is the one which is difficult to predict theoretically and therefore experimental methods suggested by Eurocode 4 (EC 4) of four point bending test is in practice throughout world. This paper presents such an experimental investigation on embossed profile sheet acting as a composite deck where in the longitudinal shear bond characteristics values are evaluated. Two stages, brittle and ductile phases were observed during the tests. The cyclic load appears to less effect on the ultimate shear strength of the composite slab.

  • This paper presents an algorithm capable of detecting free space for the autonomous vehicle navigation. The algorithm consists of two main steps: 1) estimation of longitudinal profile of road, 2) detection of free space. The estimation of longitudinal profile of road is detection of v-line in v-disparity image which is corresponded to road slope, using v-disparity image and hough transform, Dijkstra algorithm. To detect free space, we detect u-line in u-disparity image which is a boundary line between free space and obstacle's region, using u-disparity image and dynamic programming. Free space is decided by detected v-line and u-line. The proposed algorithm is proven to be successful through experiments under various traffic scenarios.

표면결함유형이 초음파 후방산란 프로파일에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Surface Flaw Type on Ultrasonic Backscattering Profile)

  • 후방산란된 초음파의 입사각 의존성을 이용한 표면 결함유형의 평가가 시도되었다. 평탄한 유리위에 순수한 홈, 구리로 채워진 홈, 표면위 붙여진 구리선등의 표면결함 시편에 대한 후방산란 프로파일은 제 1 임계각에서 종파의 산란과 관련된 새로운 프로파일을 보여주었다. 결함에 의한 산란효과가 클수록 후방프로파일들의 정점 위치는 작게 나타났으며 후방복사 프로파일과 정점 위치에서의 파열의 모양은 결함의 유형과 위치에 따라 누수파와 산란파의 복합적 요인에 의해 다른 형태를 보여주었다.

공간적으로 변이하는 지진파에 대한 터널의 응답 예측 (Prediction of Tunnel Response by Spatially Variable Ground Motion)

  • 지진파는 진원지로부터 지표면으로 전파되는 과정에서 전파경로와 부지증폭정도의 차이, 그리고 비균질한 지반에서의 지진파 산란 등으로 인하여 공간적으로 변이하게 된다. 공간적으로 변이하는 지진파는 교량과 터널과 같이 종단방향 길이가 긴 구조물에 큰 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 지진파의 공간적 변이성이 교량에 미치는 영향에 대해서는 잘 알려져 있지만 터널에 미치는 영향에 대해서는 체계적인 연구가 수행된 바 없다. 본 연구에서는 공간적으로 변이하는 지진파에 대한 터널의 응답을 예측하기 위한 새로운 기법을 개발하였다. 개발된 기법의 핵심은 이격거리별 계산된 공간적으로 변이하는 지진파의 시간이력으로부터 생성되는 종단방향 변위 주상도이다. 종단방향 변위 주상도는 일련의 3차원 유사정적 유한요소해석을 수행하는데 사용되었다. 해석결과, 공간적으로 변이하는 지진파는 터널에 종단방향 휨을 유발하며 터널 라이닝에 큰 축력이 발생할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 특히 지반의 특성이 변이하는 경계면에서 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났다.
