  • In this study accelerated aging test cycle and equipment was developed for aging test of polymer housed surge arresters under domestic weather condition In order to investigate aging characteristics of polymer surge arresters electrical and chemical analysis of the arresters which are used for accelerated aging test and outdoor exposure test were conducted. Through the analysis the capability of the proposed method was verified and characteristics data were presented for maintenance of domestic arresters. Based on these results long term reliability assessment method was proposed for polymer housed distribution surge arresters.

15년간 노출 시험한 일반 콘크리트의 탄산화 특성 검토 (Carbonation Properties of Ordinary Concrete Exposed for 15 Years)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 환경에서 장기간 옥외 노출 시험을 수행하였으며 이 중 콘크리트의 탄산화 특성에 대해 분석하였다. 시험체는 물/시멘트비에 따라 40 %, 50 % 및 60 %로 총 3종류를 대상으로 수행하였으며, 재령 3년차 및 재령 15년차의 탄산화 측정 및 분석하였으며 이를 대상으로 장기 탄산화 예측 모델을 도출하여 국내외 탄산화 예측 모델과 비교·분석하였다. 분석결과, 물/시멘트비에 따라 탄산화가 증가하는 경향을 보였으며 물/시멘트비 40 %를 기준으로 물/시멘트비 50 %의 경우 약 1.8배, 물/시멘트비 60 %의 경우 약 3.7배 증가하였다. 재령에 따른 탄산화를 비교한 결과 기존 문헌처럼 재령에 따라 증가하는 경향을 보였으며 본 시험체의 경우 재령 15년차 탄산화 값이 재령 3년차 기준 약 3배 정도 높게 나타났다. 본 연구에서 실측한 탄산화를 바탕으로 국내외 탄산화 예측 모델과 비교한 결과 기존 예측 모델과 많은 차이를 보이고 있으며, 추후 지속적으로 데이터를 확보하여 검증 및 개선할 예정이다.

Seawater curing effects on the permeability of concrete containing fly ash

  • Due to seawater's physical and chemical deterioration effects on concrete structures, it is crucial to investigate the durability of these structures in marine environments. In some conditions, concrete structures are exposed to seawater from the first days of construction or because of the lack of potable water, part of the concrete curing stage is done with seawater. In this research, the effects of exposure to seawater after 7 days of curing in standard conditions were evaluated. To improve the durability of concrete, fly ash has been used as a substitute for a part of the cement in the mixing design. For this purpose, 5, 15, and 30% of the mixing design cement were replaced with type F fly ash, and the samples were examined after curing in seawater. The resistance of concrete against chloride ion penetration based on the rapid chloride penetration test (RCPT), water permeability based on the depth of water penetration under pressure, and water absorption test was done. The changes in the compressive strength of concrete in different curing conditions were also investigated. The results show that the curing in seawater has slightly reduced concrete resistance to chloride ion permeation. In the long-term, samples containing FA cured in seawater had up to 10% less resistance to chloride ion penetration. The amount of reduction in chloride ion penetration resistance was more for samples without FA. Whiles, for both curing conditions in the long-term up to 15%, FA improved the chloride ion penetration resistance up to 40%. Curing in seawater slightly increased the penetration depth of water under pressure in samples containing FA, while this increase was up to 12% for samples without FA. In the long-term the compressive strength of samples cured in seawater is not much different from the compressive strength of samples cured in plain water, while at the age of 28 days, due to seawater salts' accelerating effects the difference is more noticeable.

라돈 노출 유효선량 평가를 위한 연간 평균 라돈 농도 예측모델 개발 (Development of Predictive Model for Annual Mean Radon Concentration for Assessment of Annual Effective dose of Radon Exposure)

  • This research, sponsored by the Korean Ministry of Environment in 2014, was the first epidemiological study in Korea that investigated the health impact assessment of radon exposure. Its purpose was to construct a model that calculated the annual mean cumulative radon exposure concentrations, so that reliable conclusions could be drawn from environment-control group research. Radon causes chronic lung cancer. Therefore, the long-term measurement of radon exposure concentration, over one year, is needed in order to develop a health impact assessment for radon. Hence, based on the seasonal correction model suggested by Pinel et al.(1995), a predictive model of annual mean radon concentration was developed using the year-long seasonal measurement data from the National Institute of Environmental Research, the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety, the Hanyang University Outdoor Radon Concentration Observatory, and the results from a 3-month (one season) survey, which is the official test method for radon measurement designated by the Korean Ministry of Environment. In addition, a model for evaluating the effective annual dose for radon was developed, using dosimetric methods. The model took into account the predictive model for annual mean radon concentrations and the activity characteristics of the residents.

  • An experimental study to evaluate to evaluate corrosion protection systems was undertaken with 44 reinforced concrete slab specimens subjected to cyclic wet and dry saltwater exposure. Corrosion measurements included monitoring macrocell corrosion currents, which are genrerally accecpted in United States practice. Test results indicate that specimens containing 2 kg/$\textrm{m}^3$ of NaCl and exposed to wet(outdoor) and dry(indoor) conditions but not to saltwater show very low values of corrosion measurements regardless applying any corrosion protective systems. Corrosion currents of the specimens exposed at 10 percent of NaCl were higher than that of the specimen exposed at 5 percent of NaCl, so the density of the salt water had an influential effect on the test. For the specimens with water repellent membrane currents kept relatively low numerical values, but test specimens with surface corrosion inhibitor protective system showed high values of corrosion current. It would be expected that evaluation of the corrosion protective systems need long-term measurement.

동슬래그 골재를 함유한 콘크리트의 내구성 평가 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of the Durability of Concrete Using Copper Slag Aggregates)

  • 동의 제련과정에서 생성되는 동슬래그의 건설용 골재 활용이 국내에서도 2004년부터 가능하게 되었으나, 현재까지 장기적인 안정성 즉, 내구성에 대한 충분한 판단자료가 미흡하여 실용화를 저해하는 한 요인으로 작용하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 동슬래그를 천연모래 (잔골재)의 부분 치환재로 사용한 콘크리트의 내구적 특성을 18 MPa 및 27 MPa급 상용 콘크리트에 대해 촉진 및 폭로 실험을 수행하여 규명하고, 이를 통해 동슬래그 콘크리트의 실용화를 가속시키기 위한 토대를 마련하고자 하였다. 실험결과, 동슬래그 30% 치환조건에서는 대부분의 천연모래를 사용한 배합과의 내구특성 차이가 크지 않은 것으로 나타났으며, 부순모래를 사용한 경우는 대체로 50% 치환조건과 유사한 것으로 확인되었다. 특히 8년간 진행된 폭로실험 결과에서도 천연모래만을 사용한 경우와 대비하여 동등한 정도의 내구성을 확보함은 물론, 저품위인 18 MPa 콘크리트의 경우에도 피복두께 20 mm까지 중성화에 도달하는 수명을 50년 이상 확보할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

플라이애시 혼합 콘크리트의 철근 부식 저항성능 평가 (Corrosion-Resisting Performance Evaluation of Concrete Mixed with Fly-Ash)

  • 플라이애시가 시멘트의 대체재로 사용되면서 플라이애시는 콘크리트의 특성변화에 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 보통 콘크리트와 플라이애시를 혼입한 콘크리트의 철근부식에 대한 저항성을 평가하였다. 부식속도가 가장 빠른 간만대 환경을 모사한 최적 건습반복시험방법을 찾고 해양환경폭로시험장의 간만대에 장기간 노출된 시편의 철근부식모니터링 시험결과와의 비교를 통해 FA 혼입에 따른 OPC 대비 부식 지연비를 도출하였다. 반전지전위법에 의한 부식 모니터링 결과 인공해수에 3일간 침지 후 4일간 건조의 반복 조건보다는 염수를 시편 상부에 침지시켜 염수 및 산소의 공급이 계속되는 염수 ponding 시험법이 부식을 촉진시키는 것으로 나타났다. 모든 시험법에서 OPC에 비해 FA의 철근 부식이 지연되었다. FA의 철근부식 지연비율은 재령이 증가할수록 증가하였으며 OPC 대비 최대 27%까지 철근부식이 지연되었다. 그 결과 플라이애시 콘크리트는 재령이 증가할수록 철근부식 저항성능이 향상됨을 알 수 있었다.

  • Cardiovascular, respiratory and electrodermal responses to acute stress episodes modeled by combined presentation of intense white noise and performance of word recognition task with noise background were studied in 15 college students. Experimental procedure consisted in sessions with white noise, word recognition task presentation with noise background and test with noise background. Recorded physiological variables were analyzed in terms of their sensitivity to detect activation of sympathetic and parasympathetic branches of autonomic nervous system and thus reflect autonomic arousal level during shout-term stress-inducing experimental manipulations. It was shown that performance of effortful mental task with noise background elicited significant physiological responses typical for active coping behavior, namely electrodermal arousal and increased cardiovascular activity. this response profile was more profound as compared to white noise only or attending task in noise background. However, all physiological responses were mostly phasic, without long-term tonic changes, since almost all variables recovered to their initial baseline levels, suggesting that dominant autonomic mechanisms in transient acute stress episodes were of parasympathetic nature (withdrawal in stress with subsequent activation in restoration period), while sympathetic contribution was not long-lasting. Nevertheless, increased number of stressors and their longer exposure may result in higher profile of tonic sympathetic arousal and reduced functional role of vagal mechanisms in autonomic balance regulation.

신생흰쥐의 알콜성 뇌손상 후 환경강화가 BDNF 발현 및 운동수행력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Enriched Enviroment on Expression of BDNF and Motor Performence after Alcohol-induced Brain Injury in Neonatal Rats)

  • Alcohol exposure during development leads to significant long-term neurobehavior dysfunction and central nervous system alteration. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of enriched enviroment in developmental period through motor behavior test and expression of BDNF. Neonatal rat exposed to alcohol on postnatal days 4 through 10 were studied. Female Sprague-Dawley pups were assigned to two groups. Experimental group(EG) via 4.5 g kg-1day-1 of ethanol was housed in enriched enviornment for 9 weeks. The main result of this study were as follows: 1. There was significant difference in the mean of weight change between control and experimental group. 2. In motor behavior test, there was significant difference in the mean of weight change between control and experimental group. 3. Regarding the immunoreactivity of BDNF were higher appeared experimental group than control group. In conclusion, the present results reveals that enriched enviroment in developmental period is to be extremely useful in neuronal reprganization and motor behavior improvement after alcohol exposure.

Phantom을 이용한 뇌 관류 CT검사에서 방사선 피폭선량에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Radiation Exposure Dose of Brain Perfusion CT Examination a Phantom)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 급성기 허혈성 뇌졸중 환자의 뇌 관류 CT검사 시 피폭선량을 알아보고자 하였다. 특히, 방사선 감수성이 높은 장기들의 장기선량(Organ dose)을 팬텀과 유리선량계를 이용하여 실측해보고, 제조사가 제시한 기존 프로토콜(고정시간기법)과 새로 제시한 융합 프로토콜(조영제 추적기법)을 적용하여 선량을 측정하여 보고, 피폭선량 저감화 방안을 마련하고자 하였다. 분석결과 기존 프로토콜과 비교하여 새로 제시한 융합 프로토콜에서 최고 39.8 %, 최저 5.8 % 장기선량이 감소하였고, 검사 피폭선량인 $CDTI_{vol}$과 DLP 값은 각각 25 % 감소하였으며, 권고 선량 이하로 측정되었다. 위의 분석결과를 바탕으로 기존에 제시된 프로토콜을 점검해보고, 새로 제시한 융합 프로토콜을 적용하여 피폭선량을 감소시켜 국민보건향상에 이바지 해야 할 것이며, 다른 검사에서도 최적의 프로토콜을 찾기 위한 연구가 계속되어져야 할 것으로 사료된다.
