농촌진흥청 원예특작과학원에서는 2008년에 진한 자주색의 수출용 중 대형품종을 육성할 목적으로 1995년에 진자주색계 중형종 C. Miake'Pieta'와 중형종 진분홍색계 'Allstar Mariane' 품종을 교배하여 진자주색계 '퍼플스타'(Cymbidium 'Purple Star') 신품종을 개발하였다. 1996년부터 2007년까지 종자기내파종, 온실양성, 선발 그리고 특성검정으로 균일성, 안정성, 화색, 화수, 엽형 등이 우수하여 2008년 12월 농작물 직무육성 심의회를 거쳐 'Purple Star'로 명명하였다. 'Purple Star' 품종은 진자주색계(RHS, GP 186A)이며, 1개 꽃대에 10.7개의 소화가 착생하며 화폭이 약 7.6 cm로 크다. 꽃모양은 꽃받침과 꽃잎이 안쪽으로 약간 오므라드는 둥근 모양이고 꽃대는 반직립성이며 식물체 크기는 중형이다. 꽃은 보통재배시 1월 초순경부터 개화하는 중생종이며 잎 형태는 꼬임이 적은 반직립성이고 꽃대의 길이는 78.4 cm로 강건하며 수출용 재배에 적합하다.

동해안에서 고품질의 굴 양식 생산과 어업인의 안정적인 소득 향상을 도모하고저 경남 하동에서 채묘한 굴을 강원도 주문진 연안에 연승수하식으로 이식한 후 1994년 8월부터 1995년 7월까지 어장환경과 수층별 성장시험을 실시하였다. 환경요인 조사결과 수온은 8.33-$25.62^{\circ}C,\;염분\;32.84-34.28\textperthousand,\;영양염류인\;인산염은\;0.09-0.40\mug$-at/l, 용존성 무기질소(DIN)는 0.32-3.12$\mu$g-at/l로 나타났다. 굴의 성장은 상층이 각고 88.7 mm, 중층 84.9 mm, 하층 78.0 mm로 하층에 비해 상층의 성장이 더 빨랐다. 수층별 각고(SH)에 대한 각장(SL)의 상대성장식은 상층 SL=0.5403 SH+8.5486 (r=0.9959), 중층 SL=0.5813 SH+3.7775 (r=0.9869), 하층 SL=0.5159 SH+6.8736 (r=0.9961) 이였다. 육질은 상층 13.24 g, 중층 12.68 g, 하층 10.96 g으로 상층에서 높게 나타났으며, 수층별 전중량(TW)에 대한 육중량(MW)의 상대성장식은 상층 MW=0.1933 TW+0.1051 (r=0.9973), 중층 MW=0.1915 TW+0.1894 (r=0.9984), 하층 MW=0.1650 TW+0.0558 (r=0.9983)으로 나타났다.

본고는 귀이개라는 특정 공예품이 시대의 흐름에 따라 변화하는 양상을 통해 당대의 물질문화에 주목하고자 하였다. 2장에서 귀이개에 관한 용어 정리를 하고, 조선후기 단편적인 문헌을 통해 귀이개의 사용 문화를 살펴보았다. 귀이개는 첫 번째로 개인의 수신을 위한 위생도구였고, 두 번째로 남성들의 선추에 다는 구성품으로 상징적인 역할을 하였다. 3장에서는 시대별로 귀이개의 형태를 분류하고, 각 형태별 특징적인 장식기법을 살펴보았다. 고려시대 귀이개는 사용목적이 위생도구였으며, 형태에 따라 단독형, 복합형으로 구분된다. 단독형에는 각봉형, 손잡이형, 판형이 있으며, 복합형에는 족집게일체형, 리벳분리형이 있다. 손잡이형 귀이개에서 고려시대의 장식기법을 살펴볼 수 있었다. 선각, 금도금, 바탕에 누정기법으로 찍은 첩호(疊弧)문, 납입사로 화려하게 장식되었다. 조선시대 귀이개는 사용목적에 따라 위생도구와 장신구로 크게 분류된다. 위생도구는 단독형, 복합형으로 나뉘고, 장신구로 사용되는 귀이개 종류로는 뒤꽂이, 노리개, 선추 등이 있다. 귀이개 장신구는 성별에 따라 여성은 뒤꽂이, 노리개로, 남성은 선추로 사용되었다. 조선시대 귀이개의 장식기법은 주로 귀이개 뒤꽂이에서 볼 수 있었다. 칠보기법으로 다양한 색을 내거나 보석감장으로 장식하였다. 그동안 공예품 중 일상도구에 관한 연구가 미진하였다. 일상도구를 통해 시대의 흐름을 읽고 물질문화에 접근하려는 시도가 활발하게 이루어지길 바란다.

The objective of this thesis is to unfold Latin American trends overlapping with Korean contemporary novels as an interesting scene in the circle of Korea literature at the beginning of the 21st century. This study was conducted largely in two directions. One is examining how long novel A Guest of Seok-yeong HWANG, a representative realist writer in Korea, and another long novel One Hundred Years Motel (Baeknyeon Motel) of Cheol-woo IM, a writer who has expressed Korean shamanic flowering as his fictitious characteristic since the 1980s, meet and interact with the world of magic realism in long novel One Hundred Years of Solitude of G. G. Marquez born in Colombia, Latin America, and the other is discussing the fictional techniques of H. L. Borges overlapping with short stories in novel collections The Age of Twenty and Fictions of Midnight by, respectively, young writers Yeon-soo KIM and PARK Hyeong-seo who displayed a unique world of fictions in the 2000s. For these purposes, we developed the points of discussion from the viewpoint of 'the meeting of two essences' for Seok-yeong HWANG and Marquez, of 'the meeting of two 'hundred years'' for Cheol-woo IM and Marquez, of 'novel writing as the finding of the original' for Yeon-soo KIM and Borges, and of 'novel writing surrounding fictions' for Hyeong-seo PARK and Borges. Around 2000, the trend of Latin American novels emerged as a phenomenon in Korean novels. It was probably a natural consequence of contemporary writers' struggling with genres and post-genres, the overturn of the center and the periphery, and blurred boundaries. Seok-yeong HWANG, Cheol-woo IM, Yeon-soo KIM, and PARK Hyeong-seo borrowed the contents and techniques of Latin American novels, but further research is required on how continuously their works internalized the characteristic properties of Marquez-style, Borges-style or polyphonic Latin American novels and, by doing so, how much they expanded or determined their own line. This is why this study has been performed productively out of vital importance. In every age throughout history, there have been the phenomena of encountering and sympathizing, and overlapping and spreading with foreign novels. This study is meaningful in that it illuminated the aspects of Korean contemporary novels in the flow of world literature through tracing the origin and reality of the trend of Latin American novels emerging conspicuously through overlapping particularly with Korean novels published in the 2000s.

The purpose of this study is to examine how fine art is received in fashion, and to contribute to the development of a creative fashion culture. In order to do this examination, this study focuses on the formative ideas of De Stijl which appeared in the early 20th century. In addition, this study presents examples of today's fashion that still reflects the formative ideas of De Stijl. The De stijl movement did not last for a long time, but it has had significant influence on modern art, and has been a source of inspiration to fashion designers since the Mondrian look was presented by Yves Saint Laurent in 1965. The study on the basis of De Stijl such as Neo-Plasticism of Piet Mondrian and Elementalism of Theo van Doesburg, has been conducted in this study. As a result, this study presents formative characteristics of the De Stijl group in fashion as follows: First, contemporary fashion designers have searched for proportion and thickness of lines and the side split using lines, a stylistic trait of an artist in the De Stijl group. Second, color scheme defined by the De Stijl group has been applied with modification to contemporary fashion. Modification and selective choice of the limited colors are for a contemporaneous style. Third, formative ideas of De Stijl, which strives to achieve the vision of Utopia, has turned up in contemporary fashion as a simple and minimal silhouette. Contemporary fashion has enhanced their aesthetic value by deriving not only a superficial expression but also plastic principle and philosophy from De stijl. It can be regarded as the fashion's ideal way to embrace style of art and it might be so described as a key to edifying artistic and creative attributes of fashion.

The Mevelana sect is a spiritual Islamic group experiencing spiritual transaction with their god through a peculiar dancing as a form of religious ritual. The Mevelana, a sect of Islamic Sufism, has their head mosque in Konya in Turkey. Although Mevelana sect is regarded as heretic of Islam, it has exerted considerable influence on the Islamic religion through its peculiar religious worshiping form constituted in dancing and reciting poems. Nowadays, Turkey recognizes the Mevelana dancing as their precious cultural legacy of a long history, exerting public information efforts to give it for wider publicity of Turkey to the world. The Mevelana dress with ornament attired for the ritual dancing performance is regarded to symbolize a spiritual medium, which leads to conciliation with the eternity. The straight lines and curved line characteristic of the Mevelana dancer's trousers, skirt, jacket and such mirrors the image of the Orientals, which is in peculiar contrast with the white and gray colors of the dress with ornament. The impression of the spiritual Mevelana dressing in harmony with the dynamic dancing motion goes beyond mere a religious dressing. It is expressive of a graceful and sophisticated modern formative art, of which the mystic design gives an inspiration to the modern fashion. After Poiret, Islamic factors have emerged in the modern fashion. For instance, a hat with Arabic fashion lapel, a Fez hat of Turkish style, harem pants and such are still popular in the modern fashion. It seems probable that the Iraq War would far more activate the influence of Arabic culture to the modern fashion. By making an analysis on the religious background and formative characteristics of the Mevelana dressing, and by giving design examples on how the Mevelanan dressing has been applied to the modern fashion, this research suggests working out new designs by making a renewed application of their characteristics to the modern fashion.

The Commercial space are changed gradually large scalized and complexed to introduce different culture exchanges and experience. However, the mass-complex commercial space are limited as of their complexed space composition or degree of space depth, which may become factors causing people to get tired easily. Thus, having a design strategy is important to create economical effectiveness in order to overcome these limitations and for the people to stay longer and do their consumption activities through more experiences and social interchanges. Recently, Jerde Partnership's who designed many complex commercial spaces made a commercial success by their unique design strategy to setup a new space and lead the interaction between space and people. The purpose of this study is based on Jerd's design concept to analyze Jerd Partnership's design strategy and space related structure to propose their space construction and design method for mass-complex commercial spaces. The results are as follows. (1)Jerde Partnership's causes the abundant space experience of the user through mass and space constitution to have a theme and a story. (2)They builds an excursion type line of flow system with an organic curve, and a non-daily experience by the change of the space scale and the application of various programs is enabled and guides the stay for the long time. (3)They builds the doorway of various courses and a circulation system through the open space and controls depth of the space. In addition, various events are performed in the center of such a circulation system, and this event makes a unique place.

Recent industrial society has human widely exposed to PAHs that are coming from the incomplete combustion of organic material as widespread environmental contaminants. Biological activities of PAHs are not known although PAHs are considered as carcinogens. The mechanism of action of PAHs has been studied extensively, however it is not clear how PAHs turn on CYPlAl in human breast cancer, Our laboratory have been studied the effect of PAHs in the human breast cancer cells, MCF-7. In this study, we examined the ZR-75-1, human breast cancer cells, as a new system to evaluate bioactivity of PAHs and to compare the PAHs action with that of MCF-7 cells. ZR-75-1 human breast cancer cell line is responsible to estrogen and progesterone. We have been able to establish long term culture system of this cells then used for the study to the effect of 13 different PAHs and environmental samples. We demonstrate that PAHs induced the CYP1A1 promoter and 7-ethoxyresorufin O-deethylase (EROD) activity in a concentration-dependent manner. RT-PCR analysis indicated that PAHs significantly up-regulate the level of CYP1A1 mRNA. Some of PAHs showed stronger stimulatory effect on CYP1 gene expression than TCDD Apparently, ZR-75-1 cells have Aryl hydrocarbon receptors (AhR), therefore it would be a good experimental tool to study the cross-talk between PAHs and steroid actions.

In recent years, as selling books on the internet becomes popular, the number of off-line bookstores are rapidly dwindling away. This change on the book market requires, the function and space of the bookstores should be defined again. Now bookstores are the places of experiences on cultures, world-views, and lifestyles around books. The study examines six large bookstores and finds three strategies of space expression as follow. First, Dominicanen bookstore in Maastricht which was built as a church has an expression which contrasts the old and the new as well as the sacred and the profane. Fangsuo bookstore in Chengdu creates a modern underground Sutra Depository. Here, people experience history and religion. Second, Cook & Book in Brussels has nine theme areas, each with a different selection of books, different interior decoration and special food and beverage like a theme park. Zhongshu bookshop in Shanghai has a lattice of nine reading rooms in which each unique design theme is characterized based on each book subject. Third, Cultura Bookstore in Sao Paulo is created to support social interchange. It leads people to the enormous plaza of books where people read books freely and participate in workshops, movies and all kinds of events. Daikanyama Tsutaya Books in Tokyo is composed of three white box-form pavilions which are connected by a 55-meter long aisle, called a magazine street. People walk along the street and choose concierge services as they browse magazines and books. The study finds out three strategies of design in current large bookstores to promote place-experience, which are the story-telling of history and culture, the design of theme parks, and openness for public mingling like plazas and streets. Thus, the study suggests a new paradigm in the design of bookstores in this internet age.

The purpose of this study was to find the biomechanical research project result carried out at 2011 IAAF World championship in Daegu. This project was approved by the International Amateur Athletic Federation(IAAF) and financially supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism(MCST) and, Korea Association of Athletics Federations(KAAF). The total number of the project members was 20, including the members of the Scientific Committee, the Korean Society of Sport Biomechanics(KSSB) and graduate students as assistants. The objective of this project has been to analyze the performance in the track events(100 m, 110 mH) and field events(Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, Javelin Throw and Shot Put). This project was focused on the biomechanical research only. This kind of analysis has been carried out at major competitions for more than a decade, as it provides coaches and athletes with very useful information as an aid to training programmes and competition preparation. The biomechanical analysis of the top athletes in the world in each specialty serves as a reference for assessing technique and rationalizing the results achieved. The results will be disseminated world-wide and coaches will be in a better position to design training strategies in line with current world trends.
