  • Currently, Korea is actually increasing and increasing demand for leisure such as parts for A/S of automobile parts of the car, as well as trends in borrowing and finished parts are also required a steady increase in automobile traffic daetsu. There is one car and want to be driving a car A/S parts supplier smoothly for many years and that it is often the case if it is not supplied in a timely fashion, it is a reality that many eonseong hear from customers. These symptoms can be confirmed that the logistics systems of a system of selling auto parts supplier but above all a problem for several reasons, which will be considered as areas for improvement should be done urgently.   • This paper describes the problem of existing maintenance system for mail sorting machnies, and presents to-be considerations of maintenance system based on AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) analysis with efficiency and economic aspects. There are standard procedure for diagnosis and repair of mail sorting machine as preventive and operational maintenance, roles and missions of maintenance technical support center for upgrade of maintenance skill in this paper. The proposed maintenance system will be adapted for more safety and efficiency maintenance of mail sorting machine.

  • This paper analyzed tendency of research of articles published in the Journal of Shipping and Logistics from Vol. 51 to Volume 60. The results of the analysis are as the following: First, the subjects mainly researched in shipping and in logistics are port economics/management and logistics management/operation in the proportion of 35.0% and 13.7%, respectively. Second, university professors carry out research more actively than other research groups. Third, quantitative analyses are more often used than qualitative analyses for research method. Finally, Korean literatures and English literatures are used at the same rate for reference. In conclusion, for the development of the Journal of Shipping and Logistics, the subjects should be diversified, systematic collaboration between educational and industrial circles is required. and cooperation with foreign academies should be continued.

  • The results of this study has been split into two components, On set of results addressed the strategy of developing a Agility for maintenance consumer. The other set of results addressed the strategy of illuminating the successful measurement and concepts formed during the maintenance problem solving process, especially in the context of the Logistics Information system by aggregation information space.   • The EPCglobal Network is a system which provides the information of items to suppliers, consumers, and customers by granting identification numbers on the goods based on the technologies of EPC(Electronic Product Code) and RFID(Radio Frequency Identification), and connecting the space to store those information by network. The EPCglobal architecture framework is also a service consolidating supply and process chain by using EPC for the common goal of business corporations. In the national level, it is necessary to define standard vocabularies for each location and logistics business process for RFID environment using the pre-constructed logistics information infrastructure. Therefore, we define the standard vocabularies and partially user vocabularies for international logistics on EPCglobal network architecture. Finally, we believe that our vocabularies contribute to describing the events fur the EPCglobal network architecture and actually providing usable platform via the XML implementation.

A Study on the Baggage Allocation Method of Passenger-Baggage Hybrid Train (여객-화물 복합열차의 화물 배치방법에 관한 연구)

  • Three baggage allocation methods of passenger-baggage hybrid train in restricted railway transportation capacity including round conveyor system, vertical circulation system, and horizontal circulation system are presented. Loading/Unloading time is calculated based on the volume transported from Busan to Seoul via Daegu, Daejeon, and Osong with the parcel company P's logistics data. The horizontal circulation system shows less baggage volume capacity to be allocated and the maximum loading/unloading time with 434 secs. The vertical circulation system presents more loading time, but it shows best result with 408 secs. Loading/Unloading times are compared for each system and useful method is presented to improve transportation efficiency of the train.

An Entry Strategies on the Western China of Korean Logistics Corporations (한국물류기업의 중국서부지역 진출 전략)

  • The Korea-China FTA and China's huge development policy for its western regions could create a strategic opportunity for Korean Companies. This study suggests a strategy for expanding the domestic activities of Korean logistics Corporations and supporting the activities of Korean Companies operating in China. Using surveys of 32 Korean Logistics Corporations, important factors to consider when expanding into western China were analyzed. The results identified factors in the order of government, local markets, strategy, infrastructure, and finance and budget. The "development of Chinese Logistics specialists," "economic cooperation with the local governments of western China," and "holding investment Fairs and exhibitions" were important government-related factors. "Understanding entry permits and procedures for logistics corporations in China" and "understanding the logistics system of western China" were also shown to be important factors. Furthermore, governmental factors were suggested to be significant by large, medium-sized, and small businesses alike, while the factor of local markets was suggested to be significant by small-scale businesses.

  • The volume of trade between Korea and China has been growing significantly year by year since the diplomatic relations have been established in 1992. The economic and logistics cooperation between the two countries is crucial not only for the development of their economic relations but for promotion of value-added logistics. However there are still huge and serious impediments to logistics network and management between the two countries including bottlenecks in transport and customs procedures. The purpose of this study is to investigate how to promote value added logistics activities between Korea and Shandong Province of China. It is suggested the ways to increase VAL activities such as enhanced division of international labour within industries, provision of comprehensive logistics service and establishment of strategy for supply chain management between the two countries.

  • Major nations undergone grand national strategy regarding Eurasia such as China's One Belt and One Road Strategy and Korea's Eurasia Initiative owing to Eurasia's regional importance. Korea's Eurasia Initiative aims to make one continental, creative continental, peaceful continental with intra-Eurasian nations as grand national strategy is based on creative economy, undertaken by President Park's Government for the future of Eurasia after the Northeast Asian logistics hub strategy. Eurasia Initiative includes logistics network project as an important one which consists of Eurasia Friendly Express, Rajin-Hassan logistics project, the Arctic Ocean route project and Rail transport network project. The success of Eurasia Initiative depends on North Korea. The purpose of this paper is to contribute to the improvement of prompt logistics network by networking main rail transport and other transports such as inland waterway transport and air transport by studying the current situation of Eurasia Express project, including rail transport network and the efficient methods of Eurasia logistics. The efficient methods of rail transport network under the Eurasia initiative are construction of multimodal logistics network connected with rail, international cooperation for logistics standardization in Eurasia, Eurasia nations' subscription of logistics-related conventions and projects performance based on these conventions, etc.

  • The purpose of this paper is "A Study on the Establishment of Distribution and Logistics System in the unified Korea". The main conclusion of this paper are as follows : North and South Korea shall conjunctionally foster the exchange and cooperation area and operate the joint pilot project to combine distribution and logistics system. To solve the problems of the maritime affairs, Fisheries, and international logistics, the cooperative agreement between North and South Korea will be needed to protect and develop of shipping, aviation and shipbuilding industry. Unification of two Koreas must be prepared as stage by stage ; ${\cdot}$Stage1(preparation period) : initiation of peace area. ${\cdot}$Stage2(development period) : forming the exchange and cooperation area ${\cdot}$Stage3(settlement period) : establishing peace belt on border area. After the unification, two Koreas must plan and undertake the construction of the distribution and logistics infrastructures, establishment of SCM system through Network and the connection to China through railway and road Network.
