  • To protect financial services against danger of financial accidents and customer information leakage caused by malware, injection attack and so on, Financial Services Commission announced "Financial Networks Security Enhancement Comprehensive Plan", which suggests the guideline of protecting customer information and providing secure financial services by separating network topology and then makes the financial company use network partitioning system. In consequence of this policy, financial companies respectively chose between the physical partitioning mechanism or the logical partitioning mechanism according to their IT environment. This paper suggests an efficient infrastructure configuration plan for making the logical network partition, by comparison of a construction of traditional general equipment and an integrated HCI(Hyper Converged Infrastructure) through 'Hyper Converged' which is one of virualization techniques for developing currently, and the case study of the integrated HCI method.

  • In these days of severe struggle for existence, the world has changed a great deal to global and digital oriented period. The enterprises try to introduce new management and production system to adapt such a change. But, if the only new technologies are applied to an enterprise without definite analysis about manufacturing, failure fellows as a logical consequence. Hence, enterprise must analyze manufacturing system definitely and needs new methodologies to mitigate risk. This study suggests that the new approach, which is systems approach for process improvement, is organized to systems analysis, systems diagnosis, and systems verification. Systems analysis analyzes manufacturing systems with object-oriented methodology-UML(Unified Modeling language) from a point of product, process, and resource view. Systems diagnosis identifies the constraints to optimize the system through scientific management or TOC(Theory of constraints). Systems verification shows the solution with virtual manufacturing technique applied to the core problem which emerged from systems diagnosis. This research shows the artifacts to improve the productivity with the above methodology applied to forming shop. UML provides the definite tool for analysis and re-usability to adapt itself to environment easily. The logical tree of TOC represents logical tool to optimize the forming shop. Discrete event simulator-QUEST suggests the tool for making a decision to verify the optimized forming shop.

  • The change of the developed countries to highly technological societies continuously requires that they nurture and use the full potential of mathematically and scientifically talented people. As this is a process that should start early in order to be efficient, the main responsibility of identifying and addressing the specific needs of these people is assigned to public school systems and, in particular, to elementary teachers. In this regard, three significant areas of concern arise and are discussed in this paper: (a) The complexity in identifying mathematically promising and mathematically talented elementary students; (b) The highly responsible and difficult task for elementary teachers to differentiate and serve the mathematically promising students within an inclusive classroom; and (c) The need of teachers with specialized training and mathematics knowledge in pre-high school grades. The last one should be considered predominantly as a logical consequence of the first two. The main goal and, hence, the purpose of the paper is to promote understanding of this crucial necessity of mathematics specialists and to advocate for a change in this direction.

  • A finite element method based on the penalized subdomain-interface framework is proposed for fully-coupled, nonlinear thermomechanical analyses with thermal contact anuor radiation boundaries. In the variational formulation, a well-known penalty functional scheme is adopted for connecting subdomains and interfaces that satisfy various continuity requirements. As a logical consequence, the whole domain can be arbitrarily divided into independently-modeled subdomains without considering the conformity of meshes along their interfaces. Since the nonlinearities due to the contact and radiation boundaries can be localized within a few subdomains, the computational efficiency of the present method is greatly increased with appropriate solution algorithms. By solving some numerical problems, these advantageous features are confirmed carefully.

  • Over the past several decades, several architectural approaches have been applied to develop Information Systems, The software architectural model has been recognized as one of the most important methods for improving productivity. Most conceptual models are difficult to understand and interpret at various system models. As a consequence, conceptual models of many Information Systems fail to represent, exploit, and apply to various aspects, which is needed for reducing development step of the architecture. In this paper, we will explain the architectural model as the 4+1 View of UML. This model integrates the Knowledge Management System into five views: the Logical View, the Process View, the Deployment View, Implementation View, and the Use-Case View. Moreover, this paper will not only provide information on the application of the software architectural model by stakeholders, but also ultimately improve productivity.

  • Hazard identification is one of the most important task in process design and operation. This work has focused on the development of a knowledge-based expert system for HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies which are regarded as one of the most systematic and logical qualitative hazard identification methodologies but which require a multidisciplinary team and demand much time-consuming, repetitious work. The developed system enables design engineers to implement existing checklists and past experiences for safe design. It will increase efficiency of hazard identification and be suitable for educational purposes. This system has a frame-based knowledge structure for equipment failures/process material properties and rule networks for consequence reasoning which uses both forward and backward chaining. To include wide process knowledge, it is open-ended and modular for future expansion. An application to LPG storage and fractionation system shows the efficiency and reliability of the developed system.

  • Since adding design elements to train manufacturing technologies creates addition of high value, it is necessary to develop design for FRT with increased convenience of transportation by rail, which is a new paradigm. Therefore, an evaluation model for increasing convenience of the interior of FRT should draw the requirements of such design and their importance and supply logical basis for setting standards of establishing convenience of system and evaluating and measuring them. In order to evaluate design elements such as interior layout and arrangement of facilities, the model, of which commonness and subjectivity have been verified, should be presented. In consequence, this study going to more concretely focus on new values and sensitive technologies, application of availability and visual communication.

  • The structure of chemical process has become increasingly complex, due to better management of energy and raw materials. As a consequence, the design of control systems for complete plants now constitutes the focal point of engineering interest, rather than controller designs for single processing units. Instead of traditional methods based on complex mathematical model, chemical processes are represented by structural array and cause-and-effect graph to apply non-numerical problem-solving techniques. A systematic logical procedure to synthesize alternatives of control system structure and some heuristic rules to select a feasible solution from the vast number of alternatives that are possible are considered in this study.

  • Seismic design of reinforced concrete flat plate structures is often complicated as it deals with three dimensionality and continuous spans, and mostly material complexity and reinforcement variation. A great degree of uncertainty in such structural and material properties is thus inherent in the RC flat plate systems, and hinders simplification of the design process in terms of slab flexure, unbalanced moment transfer at a slab-column connection, and punching shear. For these reasons, there have been substantial changes and updates in building codes relating to flat plates and slab-column connections over a handful of decades. Also, for the same reason, some of codes never have been revised. As a consequence of nonsimultaneous development of each provision, it tends to confuse structural engineers when using a mixture of all different US code provisions. In this paper, in the step-by-step logical order, seismic design of the RC flat plate systems is re-organized and clarified to make it easier to apply. Furthermore, recent changes or proposed changes are introduced, and are explained as to how it will apply in practice.

  • In general, a number of severe accident scenarios derived from Level 2 probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) are typically grouped into several categories to efficiently evaluate their potential impacts on the public with the assumption that scenarios within the same group have similar source term characteristics. To date, however, grouping by similar source terms has been completely reliant on qualitative methods such as logical trees or expert judgements. Recently, an exhaustive simulation approach has been developed to provide quantitative information on the source terms of a large number of severe accident scenarios. With this motivation, this paper proposes a machine learning-based categorization method based on exhaustive simulation for grouping scenarios with similar accident consequences. The proposed method employs clustering with an autoencoder for grouping unlabeled scenarios after dimensionality reductions and feature extractions from the source term data. To validate the suggested method, source term data for 658 severe accident scenarios were used. Results confirmed that the proposed method successfully characterized the severe accident scenarios with similar behavior more precisely than the conventional grouping method.
