  • This study aims to understand the experiences as consumers of Thai students studying in Korea. "Study Korea Project" which is a drive to globalize local universities by attracting more oversea students as a pull factor, and economic growth, values on education and Hallyu as push factors contribute to the increase the number of Thai students in Korea. In order to understand the experiences of Thai students as consumers studying in Korea, individual interviews were conducted. A total of 5 participants were asked about meaning of consumption in everyday life in Korea or any changes in consumption behavior compared to living in Thai. Three themes were identified through wholistic and selective approaches. First, all participants in the study said that they were surprised because of high living expense in Korea. Consequently, survival itself is too much for them and they have become more conscious of prices of goods. Secondly, since most participants in this study can control their own budget, they feel some degree of freedom and power of control of their own lives. This experience may help them to accomplish their developmental tasks during the transition to adulthood. Thirdly, they are easily imbued with Korean consumer culture. It causes various conflicts between buying and not-buying or friends gathering and saving money. Sometimes it makes them in stuck excessive consumption and financial problems. For a deeper understanding of oversea students' lives in Korea as consumers, further studies should take into consideration of not only their culture of origins, but also misconceptions that have accumulated around these students.

  • The present study is to investigate the middle school students' worldview and consciousness about the environment. To conduct this study, 605 students from the two middle schools of Daegu metropolitan area, seventh grade, were measured using a modified version of New Environmental Paradigm (NEP) instrument and qustionnaire of environmental consciousness. The results are as follows: First, a majority of middle school students held an ecological environmental worldview. They also had a similar environmental worldview to education experience on environment-related to subjects. The strongest area of agreement with the NEP were in the "Negative results of growth and technology." The weakest area of agreement with the NEP were in the "Quality of life" dimension with only 44.9 percent agreement across that dimension's four statements. Second, the middle school students are sensible of consciousness in environmental problems. They pointed out that air pollution and noise are the most as sever problems in country and local area, respectively. Finally, the subjects who showed the higher environmental worldview had a higher environmental consciousness and better attitudes related to environmental problems.

  • The present study proposes an innovative approach to develop educational contents for the field trip with creative activities. In the study, the field trip with creative activities extends students' learning spaces from not only the classroom but also social circumstances. With the use of the Creative Resource Map (CRM) for students' field trip, students can approach to rich contents whenever and wherever they want. For this, it is necessary to have a variety of curriculum-related contents. For the content development, it is important to enhance mutual cooperation between school and local community as well as to create local capacity for the development of the u-learning contents with smart devices.

  • This study applied effective playful learning to increase the learning motivation of non-CS major students to help them achieve learning and to successfully operate online SW liberal arts classes for 560 students. As a result of analyzing the students' reflection journals, most of the students accepted the 'white radish' of dialect names as fun playful learning in the process of learning local variables and global variables. And they were surprised and amazed at discovering unexpected contents in our SW class. It was found that they experienced delight in learning, learning-flow, confidence, and intrinsic motivation. In the final term exam at the end of the semester, it was confirmed that the correct rate of 92% for questions related to local and global variables was higher than the average rate of other questions' correctness of 67.1%.

  • Practical problem-solving studies in a company or organization have provided great advantages for our university and students. For example, such studies can lead them to build a stronger relationship with local governments and companies as well as develop their research through collaborative studies. On the other hand, comments from companies or organizations that accepted our students showed that they did not always have advantages. This study seeks ways to establish a sustainable long-term internship program that can offer advantages for companies. Advantages and disadvantages of the internship are written by the company on the evaluated sheet. These feedback comments are analyzed by text-mining approach. It is shown that there are three types of company and organizations depending on their reasons for accepting students. Next, suitable internship programs for each type, including their period and expense distribution are presented.

  • GNTECH-ICEE, which this study seeks to investigate and evaluate, demonstrates a new system of training innovative engineers. An essential component of this operation is a Small Engineering Group (SEG) that links professors, students and industrial experts together, to study and apply different techniques in determining the processes and products that relate industrial sectors needs. As an education program, SEG also provides a right direction for educating students, and generates industry-university link based human resources. Through these efforts, GNTECH-ICEE has effectively trained creative, professional, and practical engineers, by operating a variety of programs for meeting industrial needs and enhancing engineering education. SEG has many merits that have influenced its success so far, but the program also faces some challenges. The merits include; strong group bondage, practical ability incubation, and efficient administrative support. In terms of demerits, it is evident that sufficient theoretical education and local small-middle size enterprises (SMEs)' sustainable participation cannot be warranted. Thus, we propose that initiative strategies have been helpful to maximize GNTECH-ICEE's goal of making students into multi-player engineer, but continuously financial and administrative strategies be put into place in order to guarantee SMEs' long-term devotion to the program, and to help create a sustainable network between students and the companies involved.

  • In this study, the researcher analyzed relationship between stuents' science anxiety and achivement, and investigated the tendency of the science anxiety by students' variables. For the survey of this study. 5,304 stuents were sampled from the population of Korean secondary school. The researcher adopted R&D procedure for the development of SAMS(science anxiety measurement scale) and the SAT(science achivement test). The instrument SAMS consisted of 38-item scale. Cronbach a for SAMS was 0.92, concurrent validity was 0.66. SAT consist of 2O-item, the reliable coefficent of KR-20 was 0.70. The data were analyzed by using Pearson-Product coefficient and Regression analysis for the correlation between dependent and independent variable. The tendency of science anxiety were analyzed Multi-way analysis of variance, and all hypotheses were evaluated as the significant level of 0.001. Results of this study were summarized as follows : 1) The relationship between the science anxiety and the achivement showed negative correlation(r=-O.24) in all grades. 2) The relationship between the male and the female showed negative correlation (male;r=-Q.23. female=-O.22), but 11ths' humanities course and female of the science course didn't showed correlation. 3) The size of city where the school located showed negative correlation to the students anxiety(big city;-O27. medium;-O.24, small city;-O.22). 4) Tendency of students' science anxiety according to the variable of grades and sex variables was found to significant difference. The effects of interaction were found to significant difference between two variables of grade and sex. sex and local, local and grade. The effects among three variables were formed to significant difference grade, sex and local.

  • The purposes of this study were to examine understanding, attitudes, and behaviors of college students regarding the nutrition labels of food package and the relations among these factors and demographic background such as educational experience with label, major, home place and parents' status. The study was surveyed 471 undergraduate students enrolled in general education classes at local university. Generally, college students could understand nutrition label. Nutrition related class in college didn't influence Nutrition label understanding, use and purchasing behavior. Students whose mothers with higher than college education level and professional work showed strong dependability on nutrition label. Label use, understanding and purchasing behaviors significantly associated with gender of subjects. All the subjects looked at the amount of sodium most frequently among all the nutrients listed on the food package(88.8%). Of all the food labels, the manufacturing date(25.1%) was considered the most important and the refund and exchange(12.9%) was considered the least important information. This paper suggested that nutrition education program for college students needs to be developed in series from elementary school curriculum and to enhance the use of nutrition labels.
