  • One of the main objectives of the study is to propose a practical but realistic limit state model considering combined effect of axial and bending load for reliability analysis and safety assessment of cable-stayed bridge under vehicle traffic loads. This paper is intended to propose a new approach for the evaluation of reserved load carrying capacity of cable-stayed bridge under vehicle traffic loads in terms of equivalent strength, which may be defined as a bridge strength corresponding to the reliability index of the bridge. This can be derived from an inverse process based on the concept of FOSM form of reliability index. AFOSM and IST methods are used for the reliability analysis of the proposed models. The proposed reliability model and methods are applied to the safety assessment of Jindo Bridge which is one of major two cable-stayed bridges in Korea.

실시간 감시 정보를 이용한 전압안정도 제어 방안에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Voltage Stability Control Scheme using Real-time Monitoring Data)

  • In this paper, using the power system information obtained from real-time monitoring device, to analyze the voltage stability margin index and described the voltage stability control scheme for voltage stability enhancement. Based on the utilization of the voltage stability monitoring index based on local information provided by the PMU(Phasor Measurement Unit), the purpose of the plan is to control the system stably in real time. In order to apply the load control scheme, the voltage stability margin is calculated using the data acquired through the PMU installed in each load bus. If the voltage drops below a certain level, load control is performed for each. The effectiveness of the voltage stability control measures is applied to the actual KEPCO system to analyze the effectiveness.

  • Prestressing steels are susceptible to corrosion, which is considered the major reason in the deterioration of prestressed concrete structures. To solve this problem, many research have been made to utilize new type of tendons. FRP tendons have many advantages compared to steel tendons. However, FRP tendons have some disadvantages, such as no plastic behavior. This study focused on the flexural behavior of prestresssed concrete beams which is fabricated by post-tensioning method with CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) tendons. Th results drawn from the study, prestressed concrete beams with CFRP tendons have higher flexural cracking load, flexural yielding load, and flexural fracture load. While displacement at the fracture stage is lower compared to prestressed concrete beams with steel tendon. Excessive steel reinforcement lead lower ductility index. So, appropriate reinforcement guideline is needed. Further more, prestressed concrete beams with CFRP tendons can have sufficient ductility index when ruptured by crushing of concrete or used unbonded tendon. Therefore, the best design method for prestressed concrete beams with CFRP tendons is over-reinforcement, and use of unbonded tendon.

고해하중변화에 의한 탈수성과 탈수영향 인자 분석 (Characteristics of Stock Drainage Depending on Refining Load and Analysis of Drainage Factors)

  • Structures and strengths of paper have been studied by analyzing fibers characteristics depending on refining methods. Mixing ratio of softwood and hardwood fibers and fibers characteristics have been analyzed for paper quality improvement. In this study flocculation and drainage of fibers were analyzed to improve the production efficiency and paper product's quality. Floc size and drainage rate depending on stock consistency and fines content were analyzed. Total amount of drainage during drainage process was measured quantitatively by using DI(drainage index). Floc size, viscosity of floc and dewatering times were also measured. In the case of refining load $2.8 kg_f$ , drainage was occurred by filtration mechanism rather than thickening mechanism because drainage resistance increased by fibrillation of fibers. Therefore, the drainage rate of $2.8 kg_f$ refining load stock was slower than that of $5.6 kg_f$.

  • This paper presents VSCOPF(Votage Stability Constrained Optimal Power Flow) algorithm based on SLP(Successive Linear Programming) to interpret the large scale system. Voltage stability index used to this paper is L index to be presented by function form. The objective function consists of load shedding cost minimization. Voltage stability indicator constraint was incorporated in traditional OPF formulation. as well as the objective function and constraints are linearlized and the optimal problem is performed by SLP(Successive Linear Programming). In this paper, the effect of voltage stability limit constraint is showed in the optimal load curtailment problems. As a result, an optimal solution is calculated to minimize load shedding cost guaranteeing voltage security level. Numerical examples using IEEE 39-bus system is also presented to illustrate the capabilities of the proposed formulation.

  • This paper presents an algorithm to obtain an approximate optimal solution for the service restoration and load balancing of large scale radial distribution system in a real-time operation environment. Since the problem is formulated as a combinatorial optimization problem, it is difficult to solve a large-scale combinatorial optimization problem accurately within the reasonable computation time. Therefore, in order to find an approximate optimal solution quickly, the authors proposed an algorithm which combines optimization technique called cyclic best-first search with heuristic based feeder loadings balance index for computational efficiency and robust performance. To demonstrate the validity of the proposed algorithm, numerical calculations are carried out the KEPCO's 108 bus distribution system.

  • Many tribological components in automobile engine undergo high load and sliding speed with thin film thickness. The lubrication characteristics of the components are regarded as ether hydrodynamic lubrication or boundary lubrication, whereas in a working cycle they actually have both characteristics. Many modem engine lubricants have various additives for better performance which make boundary film formation even under hydrodynamic lubrication regime. Conventional Reynolds equation with the viewpoints of continuum mechanics concerns only bulk viscosity of lubricant, which means that its simulation does not give insights on boundary lubrication characteristics. However, many additives of modern engine lubricant provide mixed modes of boundary lubrication characteristics and hydrodynamic lubrication. Especially, high molecular weight polymeric viscosity index improvers form boundary film on the solid surface and cause non-Newtonian fluid effect of shear thinning. This study has performed the investigation about journal bearing system with the mixed concepts of boundary lubrication and hydrodynamic lubrication which happen concurrently in many engine components under the condition of viscosity index improver added.

클램핑 포스가 존재하는 복합재료 체결부의 파손강도 예측 (Failure load prediction of mechanically fastened composite joint with the clamping force)

  • 복합재 구조물에서 체결부위는 매우 취약한 부분이므로 복합재료 체결부에 대한 설계는 중요한 연구분야로 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 클램핑 포스가 존재하는 복합재료 기계적 체결부의 파손강도를 파괴면적지수법으로 예측하였다. 클램핑 포스가 존재하는 기계적 체결부의 파손강도를 파괴면적지수법으로 예측한 결과, $22.5\%$ 범위 내에서 체결부의 강도를 예측할 수 있었다.

체적제어에 의한 적층 복합재 구멍의 형상 최적화 (Shape Optimization of Cutouts in a Laminated Composite Plate Using Volume Control)

  • Shape optimization was performed to obtain a precise shape of cutouts including the internal shape of cutouts in a laminated composite plate by three dimensional modeling using solid element. Volume control of the growth-strain method was implemented and the distributed parameter chosen as Tsai-Hill fracture index for shape optimization. It makes Tsai-Hill failure index at each element uniform in laminated composites under the predetermined volume a designer requires. Shapes optimized by Tsai-Hill failure index were compared with those of the initial shapes for the various load conditions and cutouts. The following conclusions were obtained in this study; (1) It was found that growth-strain method was applied efficiently to shape optimization of three dimensional cutouts in a laminate composite, (2) The optimal shapes of the various load conditions and cutouts were obtained, (3) The maximum Tsai-Hill failure indices of the optimal shapes were remarkably reduced comparing with those of the initial shapes.

平面應力狀態 에서 균열先端 의 小規模降伏 에 관한 有限要素解析 (Finite Element Analysis on the Small Scale Yielding of a Crack Tip in Plane Stress)

  • Plastic plane stress solutions are given for a center cracked strip, characterized by the Ramberg-Osgood plastic index, under bi-axial tension. Using a power law hardening stress-strain relation, an incremental plasticity finite element formulation is developed, and simple formulation is given for computing J-integral with nodal displacements. The near tip angular distribution of von Mises effective stress doesn't differ significantly in magnitude according to the change of loading stress and bi-axial load combination factor. But, for smaller plastic index, the location of its maximum value moves vertically at a head of crack. J-integral value, in the plastic zone near crack tip, decreases with load combination factor for large and small plastic index.
