배터리 잔량 측정을 위한 새로운 current-based 기법 (Noble current-based Method for gauging remainder of battery)

  • 배터리 기반 시스템(휴대폰, PDA, 노트북)에서 현재 배터리에 대한 정확한 잔량 표시는 중요하다. 사용자입장에서 언제 배터리를 충전시켜야 하는지 알아야 하기 때문이다. 그런데 지금까지의 배터리 잔량 측정 장치를 보게 되면, 배터리의 전압만을 측정[1]하여 잔량을 표시하는 방식으로서 여기에는 여러 가지 문제점이 있다. 가장 중요한 문제점으로는 순간적인 배터리 전압강하에 따른 실 시간적이고 정확한 보상체계가 갖춰져 있지 않다는 점이다. 물론 하드웨어적으로 Schmitt Trigger라는 회로[2]를 구성하여 이를 방지해 놓고 있기는 하지만 Hysteresis margin[3]을 벗어난 값에 대해서는 보상을 해주지 않는다. 이런 보상은 보통 소프트웨어적으로 각 이밴트별 룩업 테이블을 만들어서 compensation하고 있기는 하지만, 수많은 이벤트에 대한 보상 값들과 예상치 못한 동작상의 오류를 막을 수는 없다. 따라서 이에 대한 근본적인 대안으로서 본 논문에서는 load current를 측정하여 그에 따른 전압강하를 계산하고 실시간적으로 배터리 전압에 보상을 해줌으로서 보다 정확한 배터리 잔량 표시를 구현하고자 한다.

자기증폭기의 시형설계 및 동작특성 (Design and Characteristics of Magnetic Amplifier)

  • An experimental design of magnetic amplifiers and their characteristics in steady state are presented. A saturable reactor model having 2KVA capacity was designed, using Z-10 grain-oriented silicon steel which is commonly used in power transformers. Experimental and theoretical analysis show that the experimental results are in good agreement with the equal ampere-turns law. In addition to the saturable reactor, the self-saturated magnetic amplifiers of 0.4VA and 5VA capacity, using 50% Ni-Fe alloy cores having rectangular hysteresis loops were designed. Control characteristic curves of these amplifiers show high ampere-turn gain enough to be used for voltage controllers under load and non-contact magnetic switches of the rated capacity.

  • The piping system of a power plant suffers not only thermal expansion according to the temperature variation, but also many kinds of load: steady state vibrations due to the equipment operation or fluid flow, and transient vibrations due to the earthquake or explosion, etc. The snubbers are usually installed on the piping system to allow thermal expansion, and to reduce dynamic responses. Most snubbers are kinds of hydraulic and mechanical type, which can be degraded by leakage and abrasion, and required much cost for maintenance and replacement. Recently the wire rope type snubbers are developed and applied to the power plant, and proved as effective to reduce piping system vibration. Wire rope type snubber uses the bending rigidity and energy dissipation properties of ropes. This paper presents the procedure of design, and the method to apply hysteresis curve to the dynamic response analysis. Experiments were also conducted to confirm design results.

광섬유 굽힘 손실을 이용한 직물 기반의 광섬유 촉각센서 개발 (Development of fabric-based optical fiber tactile sensor using optical fiber bending loss)

  • In this paper the tactile sensor system based on the bending loss of optical fiber sensor is presented. The sensor array was designed with fabric structure. The optical measuring system was composed of LED for light source and CCD camera for the signal light detector. Performance of this tactile sensor system was evaluated in various environments and compared with Harmon's design criteria. The result shows that load range is 3 g$\sim$100 g, resolution is 1.5 g, hysteresis error is 1.5%. The response linearity is good and flexibility of sensor array is excellent.

  • Hybrid electric vehicle has three operating mode, depending on the operation of the engine and electric motor. According to the speed range of BLDC motor, In hybrid traction mode, both the engine and electric motor deliver to drive train. Battery charge mode, the electric motor operates as generator and is driven by the engine to charge the batteries. In engine alone traction mode, the electric motor is do-energized, and vehicle is propelled by the engine alone. we propose hysteresis current control technique to maintain constant speed in the motor load torque at the reverse direction. The proposed method is verified by using Matlab Simulink software.

Ti-42.5at.%Ni-10at.%Cu합금의 형상기억특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Shape Memory Characteristic Behaviors of Ti-42.5at%Ni-10at.% Cu Alloys)

  • Shape memory recoverable stress and strain of Ti-42.5at%Ni-10at%Cu alloys were measured by means of constant temperature tensile tests. The alloys' transformation behavior is B2 - B19 by DSC result. The strain by tensile stress were perfectly recovered by heating at any testing conditions but shape memory recoverable stress increased to 66MPa and then slightly decreased. Transformation temperatures from thermal cycling under constant uniaxial applied tensile loads linearly increased by increasing tensile load and their thermal hysteresis are about 110K and their maximum recoverable strain is 6.5% at 100MPa condition.

Optimal Design for Hybrid Active Power Filter Using Particle Swarm Optimization

  • This paper introduces a design and a simulation of a hybrid active power filter (HAPF) for harmonics reduction given an ideal supply source. The synchronous reference frame method has been used here to identify the reference currents. The proposed HAPF uses a new artificial- intelligence technique called Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) for tuning the parameters of a proportional and integral controller called PI-PSO. The PI-PSO controller is used to archive optimality for the DC-link voltage of the HAPF-inverter. The hysteresis non-linear current control method is used in this approach to compare the extracted reference and the actual currents in order to generate the pulse gate required for the HAPF. Results obtained by simulations with Matlab/Simuling show that the proposed approach is very flexible and effective for eliminating harmonic currents generated by the non-linear load with the HAPF based PSO tuning.

Ti-24Al-11Nb 합금의 피로균열성장거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fatigue Crack Growth Behavior of A Ti-24Al-11Nb Alloy)

  • The mechanisms of fatigue crack growth (FCG) in a Ti$_3$Al-based (${\alpha}_2$) alloy, Ti-24Al-11Nb (a/o) with acicular microstructure were studied with particular attention focused on the fatigue crack path through the microstructure and on the effects of specimen orientation and crack closure. The results showed that the fatigue cracks of Ti-24Al-11Nb alloy grew much faster than conventional titanium alloys, with little difference in FCG rates for TL and TS orientations. The fatigue crack paths revealed crystallographic transgranular fracture with frequent serrations and branching. This is in agreement with the known effects of slip planarity and microstructure on the FCG behavior. The load-displacement hysteresis loops showed that the crack closure influenced the FCG behavior.

A novel heuristic for handover priority in mobile heterogeneous networks based on a multimodule Takagi-Sugeno-Kang fuzzy system

  • H2RDC (heuristic handover based on RCC-DTSK-C), a heuristic algorithm based on a highly interpretable deep Takagi-Sugeno-Kang fuzzy classifier, is proposed for suppressing the mobile heterogeneous networks problem of frequent handover and handover ping-pong in the multibase-station scenario. This classifier uses a stack structure between subsystems to form a deep classifier before generating a base station (BS) priority sequence during the handover process, and adaptive handover hysteresis is calculated. Simulation results show that H2RDC allows user equipment to switch to the best antenna at the optimal time. In high-BS density load and mobility scenarios, the proposed algorithm's handover success rate is similar to those of classic algorithms such as best connection (BC), self tuning handover algorithm (STHA), and heuristic for handover based on AHP-TOPSIS-FUZZY (H2ATF). Moreover, the handover rate is 83% lower under H2RDC than under BC, whereas the handover ping-pong rate is 76% lower.

LWD를 활용한 에폭시 아스팔트 포장의 정상 표면처짐 범위 연구 (A Study on Normal Range of Surface Deflection for Epoxy Asphalt Pavement using Light Weight Deflectormeter)

  • 본 연구는 에폭시 아스팔트 포장 내부 상태 평가를 위해 이동 차량하중 모사가 가능한 회복탄성계수 실험과 LWD 실험을 수행하였다. 회복탄성계수 실험에서 측정된 변위는 일반 아스팔트와 달리 잔류변형이 매우 미소한 수준으로 탄성변형과 유사한 거동을 보여 정상 상태로 해석해도 무리가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 회복탄성계수에서 측정된 변위 결과를 처짐 탄성계수로 변환 후 1 SIGMA 단계를 적용하여 정상 처짐 탄성계수 범위를 산정하였다. $60^{\circ}C$에서의 파손 의심 처짐 범위와 하중-변위 선도 개형으로 포장 내부 상태를 예측하였다. 정상 표면처짐 구간인 $140{\mu}m$의 일부 구간에서 수분 침투 및 접착성능 저하가 관찰되었으나, 하중-변위 선도 개형에서 변곡점 발생 구간으로 확인되었다. 현장 확인 결과 제시된 기준은 높은 수준의 정확도를 보이는 것으로 나타났다.
