Due to the significant aerodynamic interference from sub-towers and surrounding tall buildings, the wind loads and dynamic responses on main tower of three-tower connected tall building typically change especially compared with those on the isolated single tall building. This paper addresses the wind load effects and equivalent static wind loads (ESWLs) of three-tower connected tall building based on measured synchronous surface pressures in a wind tunnel. The variations of the global shape coefficients and extremum wind loads of main tower structure with or without interference effect under different wind directions are studied, pointing out the deficiency of the traditional wind loads based on the load codes for the three-tower connected tall building. The ESWLs calculation method based on elastic restoring forces is proposed, which completely contains the quasi-static item, inertia item and the coupled effect between them. Then the wind-induced displacement and acceleration responses for main tower of three-tower connected tall building in the horizontal and torsional directions are investigated, subsequently the structural basal and floor ESWLs under different return periods, wind directions and damping ratios are studied. Finally, the action mechanism of interference effect on structural wind effects is investigated. Main conclusions can provide a sientific basis for the wind-resistant design of such three-tower connected tall building.

Recently, the audible sound level of power transformer has been reduced due to development of new material and enhancement of manufacturing technology. There is lack of research on the audible sound of winding and cooling fan because the research on reduction of audible sound is concentrated on the core sound. Therefore this paper describes 3 kinds(core, winding and cooling fan) of transformer sound source. Also this paper analyzes the effect of load sound and cooling fan sound on the total transformer sounds. As the results, total sound level of 79dBA class transformer rises 0.2~0.3dB due to effect of load sound and rises 2.1~3.5dB due to effect of cooling fan sound. Also, total sound level of 55dBA class transformer rises 2.3~2.9dB due to effect of load sound and rises 1.9~3.5dB due to effect of cooling fan sound.

The performance of a solar water heater incorporating evacuated tubes was evaluated using a transient simulation program, TRNSYS. Simulations were performed for $60^{\circ}C$ of hot water load temperature and for 280 liter of daily hot water volumes and three 400 liter of storage tank volumes. Three patterns of daily hot water consumption profile were used in the present study (morning, lunch and evening). The results show that the increase in solar fraction depends on the load profile, as well as the collector efficiency coefficient. Hot water draw profile has a large effect on the performance of the SDHWS, the morning load profile has the highest solar fraction. The annual solar fraction of the system, at the weather conditions of Jinju is approximately 84% at lunch load pattern, the 280 kg of load volume, 400 kg of tank volume and the $60^{\circ}C$ of load temperature.

In this study, we recognized about application of the load distribution factor for design of tunnel in 3D numerical analysis. Generally, load distribution factor of tunnel is applied to describe 3D arching effect that can not describe when 2D numerical analysis. Through result of 3D numerical analysis, we used to apply in numerical analysis for the load distribution factor that ratio of finally displacement to displacement of construction step. But 3D numerical analysis need to apply to load distribution factor for convenience of numerical analysis. Therefore, we proposed load distribution factor that reduce time and coast. It corrected variable of advanced length in load distribution factor of 3D numerical analysis.
Steel structures often require strengthening due to the increasing life loads, or repair caused by corrosion or fatigue cracking. Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers (CFRP) is one of the materials used to strengthen steel structures. Most studies on strengthening steel structures have been carried out on steel beams and steel columns under centric compression load. No independent article, to the author's knowledge, has studied the effect of CFRP strengthening on steel columns under eccentric compression load, and it seems that there is a lack of understanding on behavior of CFRP strengthening on steel columns under eccentric compression load. However, this study explored the use of adhesively bonded CFRP flexible sheets on retrofitting square hollow section (SHS) steel columns under the eccentric compression load, using numerical investigations. Finite Element Method (FEM) was employed for modeling. To determine ultimate load of SHS steel columns, eight specimens with two types of section (Type A and B), strengthened using CFRP sheets, were analyzed under different coverage lengths, the number of layers, and the location of CFRP composites. Two specimens were analyzed without strengthening (control) to determine the increasing rate of the ultimate load in strengthened steel columns. ANSYS was used to analyze the SHS steel columns. The results showed that the CFRP composite had no similar effect on the slender and stocky SHS steel columns. The results also showed that the coverage length, the number of layers, and the location of CFRP composites were effective in increasing the ultimate load of the SHS steel columns.
The recent increasing application rate of advanced high-strength steel(AHSS) for automotive parts makes it difficult to ensure the durability of forming tools. Significant load and friction generated during the piercing process of AHSS increase the wear rate and the damage degree to dies. These harsh process conditions also yield product failures, such as dimensional inconsistency of pierced holes and insufficient quality of hole's sheared edge. This study analyzed the effect of punch wear on the sheared surface of pierced parts and the forming load during the piercing process. Wear-shaped punches showed approximately 20% higher piercing load than normal-shaped punches, and the rollover ratio of the sheared surface also increased. It is considered that the dull edge of wear-shaped punches does not penetrate directly into the material but shears after tensioning it in a piercing direction. In addition, wear-shaped punches experienced compressive load even after completing the piercing process during the down-stroke and tensile load during the up-stroke. This load variation is related to the smaller diameter piercing holes produced by wear-shaped punches compared to normal-shaped punches. Thus, we demonstrated the predictability of the wear level of dies through a comparative analysis of the piercing load pattern.
To consider dynamic magnification effect at the static design stage, impact load factor is applied to design load. Current impact load factor adopted EUROCODE without verification while Japan suggested impact load factor including velocity of high-speed train throughout theoretical and experimental studies. On the purpose of evaluate current impact load factor, this study investigated the calculation of impact load factor from dynamic response of running train.

This paper proposes the cost analysis on the energy efficient equipment when this equipment is participated in the demand-side bidding. Conventional demand-side bidding is exercised through load re-distribution. However if this load reduction is exercised by the use of high efficient equipment, its effect will be assumed to be more economical. This paper analyses this cost-benefit effect of high efficient equipment in the demand-side bidding.

In this paper, 1-168 hours ahead load prediction algorithm is developed for power system economic weekly operation. Total load is composed of three components, which are base load, week load and weather-sensitive load. Base load and week load are predicted by moving average and exponential smoothing method, respectively. The days of moving average and smoothing constant are optimally determined. Weather-sensitive load is modeled by linear form. The paramiters of weather load model are estimated by exponentially weighted recursive least square method. The load prediction of special day is very tedious, difficult and remains many problems which should be improved. Test results are given for the day of different types using the actual load data of KEPCO.

Load models are very important for improving the accuracy of stability analysis and load flow studies. Various loads are connected to a power bus and their characteristics of power consumption change with voltage and frequency. Thus, the effect of voltage/frequency changes must be considered in load modeling. In this work, artificial neural networks-ANNs- were used to construct the component load models for more accurate modeling. A typical residential load was selected and subjected to a test under variable voltage/frequency conditions. Acquired data were used to construct component models by ANNs. The aggregation process of separately determined load models is also presented in the paper. Furthermore, this paper proposes a method to transform a single load model constructed by the aggregation method into a mathematical load model that can be used in traditional power system analysis software.
