"Living in the present moment," a Buddhist concept, was applied in this research. This concept urges the patients to cling neither to the past nor the future as well as being mindful of their body, feelings, mind, and mental qualities. The purpose of the study was to develop a "living in the present moment" model and to evaluate the power of "living in the present moment" in terms of physical and mental results. The study used non-participatory action research with quasi-experimental research design that included 3 camps composed of 6 main activities. The percentages, SD, and paired t-test statistics were used to analyze and compare 17 purposively selected diabetic patients from Pak Thong Chai Hospital before and after they attended the 3 camps. The patients improved significantly in terms of waistline, body weight, body mass index (BMI) and blood pressure (SBP and DBP). The mean of fasting plasma glucose (FPG) level was also changed considerably. The results revealed that the treatment helped the patients to gain self-awareness and self-realization (Yonisomanasikara), as well as knowledge and increased support from friends (Kalyanamitta). They also let go of their attachment to their physical and mental oppressions. This helped the patients to relieve their daily pain, fatigue, insomnia, and diabetes-related complications. About 75% of all patients were able to achieve lifestyle modifications. Therefore, implementation of the model should be expanded and utilized in other diabetic centers. The model might also be expanded to pre-diabetes.

Living in the age of information people face problems related to information overload. Information is easy to produce, store and distribute through various communication channels, one of which is emails. With the appearance of the mobile devices, such as smart phones and tabs, people can have access to email inbox at any moment of time from everywhere. In this paper we present information extraction system with a specific goal of extracting meeting location from the announcement of seminar or conference. We apply a machine learning method (conditional random fields, CRF), train the system using annotated corpus of seminar and conference announcements and validate results by applying various extracted correction rules and patterns. Furthermore, we normalize extracted location, and reference using geo-coding databases, OpenStreetMap and Wikipedia resources to determine real geographical coordinates.

Since the Korean War, starvation and severly desperate living conditions hit the whole country. However, Koreans finally overcame such difficulties, achieving the miracle on the Han River. Through rapid industrial developments, Korea would not need any more supports from the outside but rather became a country which would offer a support. Meanwhile, in 1997, the Korean domestic economy underwent IMF which had caused a massive number of unemployeds. Among those people, many began to show interest in D.I.Y woodcraft for a whole new change and eventually, the industry of D.I.Y woodcraft business became expanded. Now, Korea survived I.M.F and was grown as one of the leading countries in the world, having held the G20 summit conference. Such achievements helped national income increased with the domestic GNP of $30,000, having exceeded $20,000. The population also grew to over fifty million and with all these factors, Korea joined the ranks of advanced countries. As a living environment of an individual gets improved and people have had time on their sides due to the five-day workweek, many have been taking this opportunity to engage in self-development and leisure activities. As trends are pursuing eco-friendliness and D.I.Y, D.I.Y woodcraft workshops are opening nationwide. Considering this, as analyzing present conditions of D.I.Y woodcraft workshops, which are being quickly popular at this moment in Korea, this study focuses on presenting a Korean-style D.I.Y woodcraft workshop, suggesting how to promote D.I.Y woodcraft business to be a pivot of the furniture industry in Korea.

The culture of Korea shows political and religious discrimination by changed the era, but in the culture the inherent spirit of Koreans has been more specific at various angles to. But in the last several decades looking at the domestic furniture design field, the introduction of Western technology with high-tech, the mechanical plastics of modern Western European furniture, and imitations have been flooded. Owing to them our spirit were soon altered and made to face the current leads to confusion. Fortunately, in the latest national and international design fair the domestic furniture companies are breaking the ambiguous identity of the design in the meantime they keep studying and developing of our spirit and the demands of the times. Moreover, a new awareness and heightened interest on Korean traditional and stylish furniture are more elevated. At this moment, a study on the Connectivity of Aesthetic Consciousness Appearing in Korean Traditional Architecture and Furniture is required to overcome the today's confusion and to establish identity and the direction of the domestic furniture industry. Thus, this paper purposes to present the new direction for domestic furniture industry by researching and analyzing on the Korean traditional architecture and traditional furniture with the Korean spirit and a sense of beauty.

Our natural desire to exuviate old theory and search for new ideas means conversion and reformation. Howev-er, the new idea of the present moment will soon become an ancient history when the next generation emerges with more advanced ideas. Naturally, we have learned to accept the past history and utilized it as a the foundation for the future. Through the repeated process of the learning method, the popula-tion cultivate themselves with proper understanding and appropriate attitude toward design. By analyzing social behaviors of the past and living conditions, we can ex-pand our imaginations beyond limits. Each society and its local condition have tremendous effects on the develop-ment and progress of artistic theories, techniques and craftsmanship, and potential design of every day use products. Today, interior design can not afford to ignore the or-ganic relationship of life style and space. Thus, the plan-ning of space means the planning of life style. Life style, as it is, has a vast definition and changes with time. That is why spaces, which consider the life style and its environment when designed, show different aspects ac-cording to its corresponding time. Interior design, in particular, differs by time and re-gion to create its unique style. The change in space is the natural result of the change in life style which again is sensitive to the change in cultural and environmental elements. Design is no longer designing of mere physical elements and environment. Design should be taken as the equivalent of creating spiritual culture.

The purpose of the present study to investigate relationships among family background factors (i. e. adolescents' sex, mother's educational level and employment status. family's SES, and family types), mother-adolescent communication patterns and ego-identity development of adolescents. The subjects were 169 mother-adolescent dyads living in Seoul. Statistical methods used for the data analysis were frequencies, percentiles, Mean, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, Pearson's product-moment correlation, regression analysis, ANCOVA, and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. The results were as follows: (1) Significant differences of the adolescents were between family's SES and open communication patterns, between family types and problematic communication patterns. (2) Significant differences of the mothers were between family's SES and open communication patterns, and among family's SES, mother's educational level and problematic communication patterns. (3) There were significant differences in ego-identity of adolescents according to family's SES. (4) There were significant relationships between mother-adolescent communication patterns and the ego-identity development of adolescents. (5) The most influential variable explaining adolescents' ego-identity development was found to be problematic communication patterns perceived by adolescents. Family background factors and mother's communication patterns were not found to have significant effects.

우리의 세계가 점점 더 똑똑해지고 우리를 점점 더 잘 알아 갈수록 어디가 세계의 끝이고 어디에서 자아가 시작되는지 분간하기 어려워진다는 앤디 클라크의 지적은 디지털 시대를 살아가는 우리에게 매우 의미 심장하다. 거대한 테크놀로지의 힘이 노아의 방주처럼 지구를 휩쓸고 있는 현대에 인간들은 역사상 유례 없는 새로운 환경, 새로운 인간신체들 속에서 파편화되어 다양한 방향으로 표류하고 있다. 그럼에도 현대를 가늠하게 하는 몇 가지 특징들을 살펴 볼 수 있는데 본 논문은 이 특징들을 금단을 향한 인간 욕망과 테크놀로지가 낳은 사생아인 사이보그라는 코드를 통해 접근해 보고자 한다. 경계 해체와 혼종, 변형, 융합, 이미지 커뮤니케이션 디지털적 감수성과 사고방식, 여성성 등과 같은 특성들은 현대에 와서 기계와 인간의 흔종이란 협의의 의미를 넘어 디지털 세상의 다양한 성격들을 지칭하는 광의의 의미로 확장되고 있는 사이보그 특성들과 공명한다. 디지털 시대에 가장 각광받고 있는 매체 중 하나인 애니메이션을 통해 현대 사이보그의 역사를 추적하고 이러한 사이보그 개념의 확장을 촉발, 담론화 시킨 오시이 마모루의 사이버펑크 애니메이션 <공각기동대>와 <이노센스>의 작품분석들 통해 그 특성들을 확인해 볼 것이다. 후속 작업을 통해 본 논문의 문제제기가 현대라는 시대와 현대인들이 각자 삶의 현주소를 진단하는 하나의 계기로 나아갈 수 있으리라 기대해 본다.

본 연구는 미래의 불확실한 상황이 발생했을 때를 대비하여 의식이 있을 때 임종기의 치료에 대한 선호도를 밝혀두는 사전의료지시서(Advance Directives) 모형 개발에 필요한 실증적 자료를 제공하기 위해 시도되었다. 6개 시·도에 거주하는 의료인(의사/간호사)과 일반성인 383명을 대상으로 AD 관련 실태와 무의미한 연명 치료에 대한 태도, AD 모형에 대한 인식과 선호도를 조사하였으며, 연구도구는 구조화된 설문지를 사용하였다. 수집한 자료는 SPSS 14.0을 이용하여 빈도분석과 백분율, χ² test, 평균과 표준편차를 구하였다. 연구결과 대부분의 의료인들은 심폐소생거부권(DNR order)과 AD에 대해서 알고 있었으며, 소수이기는 하지만 병원 내규나 서식을 통해 활용하고 있었다. 무의미한 연명치료에 대해서는 전체적으로 부정적인 인식을 가지고 있었으며, 대다수의 응답자들이 우리나라에 AD를 도입하는 것과 AD를 작성하는 것에 동의하였고, AD가 법적 효력을 갖는 것에 찬성하였다. AD를 작성하는 방법으로는 생전유언과 대리인 지정을 혼합하는 유형을 희망했고, 문서로 작성하는 것을 희망했다. 또한 AD를 작성하는 시기로는 말기질환으로 진단받았을 때를 가장 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 우리나라 문화와 실정에 맞는 AD 모형을 제시하였다. 향후 연구에서는 AD 도입을 위해 사회적 합의를 이끌어 내기 위한 구체적인 방안이 논의 되어야 할 것이다.

Aging is a senescence and defined as a normal physiologic and structural alterations in almost all organ systems with age. As Leonard Hayflick, one of the first gerontologists to propose a theory of biologic aging, indicated that a theory of aging or longevity satisfies the changes of above conditions to be universal, progressive, intrinsic and deleterious. Although a number of theories have been proposed, it is now clear that cell aging (cell senescence) is multifactorial. No single mechanism can account for the many varied manifestations of biological aging. Many theories have been proposed in attempt to understand and explain the process of aging. Aging is effected in individual by genetic factors, diet, social conditions, and the occurrence of age-related diseases as diabetes, hypertension, and arthritis. It involves an endogenous molecular program of cellular senescence as well as continuous exposure throughout life to adverse exogenous influences, leading to progressive infringement on the cell's survivability so called wear and tear. So we could say the basic mechanism of aging depends on the irreversible and universal processes at cellular and molecular level. The immediate cause of these changes is probably an interference in the function of cell's macromolecules-DNA, RNA, and cell proteins-and in the flow of information between these macromolecules. The crucial questions, unanswered at present, concerns what causes these changes in truth. Common theories of aging are able to classify as followings for the easy comprehension. 1. Biological, 1) molecular theories - a. error theory, b. programmed aging theory, c. somatic mutation theory, d. transcription theory, e. run-out-of program theory, 2) cellular theories - a. wear and tear theory, b. cross-link theory, c. clinker theory, d. free radical theory, e. waste product theory, 3) system level theory-a. immunologic/autoimmune theory, 4) others - a. telomere theory, b. rate of living theory, c. stress theory, etc. Prevention of aging is theoretically depending on the cause or theory of aging. However no single theory is available and no definite method of delaying the aging process is possible by this moment. The most popular action is anti-oxidant therapy using vitamin E and C, melatonin and DHEA, etc. Another proposal for the reverse of life-span is TCP-17 and IL-16 administration from the mouse bone marrow B cell line study for the immunoglobulin VDJ rearrangement with RAG-1 and RAG-2. Recently conclusional suggestion for the extending of maximum life-span thought to be the calory restriction.

원시시대부터 인간의 커뮤니케이션 수단으로 이용되어 온 일러스트레이션은 이제 우리 생활 속에서 생활의 단편적이거나 혹은 심층적인 면을 함축하여 표현하는 수단이 되었다. 즉 그것은 피터 노크(Peter Knock)의 한 잡지 일러스트레이션을 보고 어떤 예술가가 '여태껏 읽은 것 중 가자 훌륭한 기사였다'고 말 한데서도 알 수 있듯이, 일러스트레이터의 임무는 하루의 일상생활에서 아니 순간 순간의 사물의 지각을 통한 비구체적이든, 구체적이든 일러스트레이션의 소스(source)가 우리의 잠재의식 속에 남아있다고 가정할 때 이들을 추출해서 사실적으로 묘사하는 작업을 하고 있다고 할 수 있고, 그것은 어떤 미사여구를 붙인 문자 언어보다도 강한 지각작용을 불러일으킬 수 있다는 것이다. 뿐만 아니라 일러스트레이션의 활용분야는 나날이 증가하고 있으며 그 대상도 인물, 자연, 인공, 과학 등 다양해지고 따라서 이러한 시점의 일러스트레이션에서 가장 요구되는 것은 얼마나 창조적이며 참신한 아이디어를 지녔냐 하는 것이다. 왜냐하면 복잡 다양한 사회 속에서 일반인의 마음속에 자리잡기 위해서는 보다 독특한 이미지와 호소력을 가져야 하기 때문이다. 따라서 일러스트레이션의 교육도 이젠 단순한 기술연마가 아닌 시넥틱스(Synetics)적 사고에 바탕을 둔 작품으로 유도되어야하며 기능 위주의 도식적인 일러스트이션 교육에서 벗어난 보다 자유롭고 풍부한 개성을 지닌 사고를 할 수 있도록 되어야 한다.
