  • It started road constructions around river in 1990s. These maintenances concentrate on city river. Because river lives no living things and men don't come near there. But in spite of these river environment go to rack, river maintenances still keep on using preexistence method since 1990s. Only a part of city river environment maintenances consider environmental ability of passive river, river maintenance of a purpose of flood control still don't consider in the concrete. Because propulsion device that consider environment ability of passive river and possible application techniques don't complete. In accordance, A natural river maintenance needs absolutly a series of river projects. Because a natural river maintenance prevents a damage of environment ability. This study is to assume the flood really happened and to carry out the flood damage simulation needed in overflow simulation about the inundated zone. Also, This study examine unstable part about the hydraulic characteristic as velocities, stream power, shear, hydraulic depth, flow area in basin. And this study applied the HEC-RAS(river analysis system) model to predict flood overflow in youngsan river basin. Project flood is used the return period 100 year and inputed data that was calculated in intensity figures of illumination.

  • The international marine system was plunged into the age of divided occupation with the adoption of the United Nations Convention on Law of the Sea in April, 1982. The exclusive economic zone of 200 Nautical miles set up by the Convention confirms the assertions of many coastal states whose fishing industries are not well-developed. However, it is unfavorable to the countries whose fisheries are being carried on in deep-sea, because the coastal state has sovereign rights to conserve and manage living resources in it. Under the circumstances the Korean deep-sea fisheries had to find ways out of the difficulties. The ways may be divided into two ways, namely, licensed fishing and joint-venture fishing. The former type becomes unfavorable to foveign fisheries because of decreasing quarts, rising fees and remunerations. The latter type properly meets the wishes of countries concerned and has some merits. However, there is a possibility of bearing the risk in case of investment in developing countries. The insurance system is effective to make up for the loss from the risk, although not perfect. The deep-sea fisheries depressed now by accumulated difficulties need more financial support from the Goverment for the active promotion of overseas joint-venture.

To provide convenience to prospective residents, a package sales scheme covering from lot purchase to building permit was adopted. 3. As for the planting plan, existing plants was preserved as much as possible to keep harmony with new plants. In selecting plant types, a traditional method that emphasizes on the visual effects of aesthetic plants and shade trees with the change of seasons and plants various kinds of plants according to directions was adopted. 4. Each household was given the opportunity to design its own garden according to the family's preference and taste. 5. The advantages of a rural area that city does not offer were fully utilized to provide the residents with convenience and pleasure of living.

  • Residents who live near petrochemical industrial areas are exposed to a variety of petrochemicals, including benzene or benzene-containing liquids. It is a serious concern because some VOCs are carcinogens naturally present in petroleum and gasoline. The aim of this study was to assess the exposure to VOCs, measured by personal/indoor/outdoor air sampling, and to estimate the relationship between the air samples and biological monitoring data. Through biological monitoring, we investigated VOCs in blood and s-phenylmercapturic acid (s-PMA) , minor urinary metabolites of benzene. The external benzene exposure of subjects was measured using passive dosimeters and urinary s-PMA and blood-benzene were determined by GC/MS. More than 80% of subjects were detected for m-xylene, ethylbenzene, and toluene in blood samples and not detected at all for chloroform, 1 , 1 , 1 -trichloroethylene, and tetrachloroethylene. The mean concentration of benzene in the breathing zone of residents was 6.3 $\mu\textrm{g}$/m$^3$, personal, indoor and outdoor concentrations were strongly correlated to each other. s-PMA detected in all subject samples was affected by personal exposure (p< 0.05) and the level was different by age (p< 0.01). Blood benzene was not affected by external benzene during these periods .

  • Two Spirostomum species were collected from freshwater in Jindo Island, Korea and identified as Spirostomum ambiguum (Muller, 1786) Ehrenberg, 1835 and Spirostomum minus Roux, 1901. This study is the first known morphological record of these two species being found in Korea. The description is based on the observation of living specimens and protargol impregnated specimens. Diagnostics of Spirostomum ambiguum: body size $340-930{\times}45-80{\mu}m$ in vivo; long and slender body with truncated posterior part; macronucleus moniliform with 7-22 nodules; cortical granules irregularly arranged 4-5 rows in between somatic kineties; 24-58 somatic kineties arranged longitudinally; adoral zone of membranelles (AZM) covered about 60-80% of body length. Diagnostics of Spirostomum minus: body size $500-730{\times}35-45{\mu}m$ in vivo; long and slender body with truncated posterior part; macronucleus moniliform with 11-16 nodules; micronucleus 20-37 oval shape; cortical granules regularly arranged 3-4 rows in between somatic kineties; 20-30 somatic kineties arranged longitudinally; AZM covered about 40-50% of body length with 120-150 adoral membranelles.

  • The commercial service of KTX from April 1st 2004 has realized that whole country has shrunk into half-day life zone and it opened the times of speed. However, some technical problems unexpected before service have been raised and, among them, the noise generation at train passing was claimed by the residents living nearby the track and it is often publicized by the broadcastings and newspapers. In case where the residential area is close to the track, the installation of noise barrier at trackside is the general measures for noise reduction on bridge section and earthwork section. In case of KTX project, such measures were actually taken without any exception; however, the noise level is still high. In this study, analysis for the reason of higher noise level in spite of which the noise barriers are being installed was carried out, the sample of insulation material effective for noise barrier was manufactured and the performance of the insulation material was evaluated to verify its effectiveness

  • The purpose of this study was to the characteristics of the interior space composition for luxurious apartments and the trend of interior design. Surveying visits were made to 30 model houses for which individual apartments of 8 million Won or more per pyeong (about 3.30 square meters) were on sale from December 1999 through November 2000 in Seoul and suburb area, pundang. The major finding were summarized as follows; (1) The characteristics of the planes indicated that the living-room separation type accounted for the majority, which was not generally different from common apartments. The master zone divided several room. The main room which conventionally played the roles of the family gathering space and the second room shared by family members, was designed exclusively for husband and wife. Distinctively separated from the other spaces, it was to be used for personalized space, together with bathroom for the couple, dressing room, or study. Attempts were made for the high-class apartments to get away from the common uniformed apartments, such as the yard-type balcony or the second entrance in consideration of the moving path.
