원심분리기의 채널 설계(II) - 입자의 침강문제와 보울 길이 (Channel Design of Decanter-Type Centrifuge (II) - Particles' Sediment and the Bowl Length)

  • In this paper, based on the concept of solid particles' sediment problem the working formula determining the bowl length of a Decanter-type centrifuge were derived. Assuming that particles are uniformly distributed along the vertical line of the liquid inlet position, it was possible to derive a constant value k used for determining the bowl length. It was shown from the sample calculations that the bowl length should be increased as the particle size to be removed from the liquid is decreased. The length also should be increased for the same particle size as the bowl diameter is decreased. To help the engineers choose a reasonable bowl diameter, the statistical relationship between the bowl diameter and the capacity of the international products is obtained and presented.

  • 동적 감쇠자로서 백홀에 대한 동적 제어 테스트를 수행하였다. 공급라인에서 압력 섭동에 의해 발생되는 가진과 스월 인젝터의 내부 파동 분석을 위해 수력학적 진동발생기와 1차원 가시화 모델 인젝터가 제작되었다. 음향학적 대신에 동적 감쇠자로서 백홀의 영향에 초점을 두었기 때문에 액막의 분열길이와 액막 두께를 측정하여 정상 상태와 가진 상태의 결과를 비교하였다.

  • Liquid-liquid phase separation에는 nucleation and growth와 spinodal decomposition의 2가지 경로가 있다. 상온에서 고농도의 고분자 용액과 저량의 비용매의 조성의 근처에는 용해도 갭으로 들어가게 되면 비용매에 아주 미량의 고분자가 있는 조성을 갖는 핵이 고분자 용액 내에서 형성되고 이러한 핵은 여러게가 액적의 형태로 주위의 고분자 용액의 gelation에 의해서 성장이 멈출 때까지 커지게 된다. 여기서 어떤 고분자 상이 nucleation되는지가 매우 중요하게 된다. 실제 우리가 상전이 막을 제조할 경우는 대부분 10wt% 이상의 고분자 농도이므로 polymer-poor상이 nucleation이 된다. Spinodal decomposition의 경우는 용해도 갭을 빠르게 통과해서 nucleation이 일어나지 않고 spinodal line을 지나는 경우이다. 이러한 경우의 용액은 매우 불안정해서 약간의 농도 변화에도 자발적인 상분리가 일어나서 polymer-poor상과 polymer-rich상이 서로 얽혀져 있는 network구조를 형성하게 된다.

  • In this paper, we have proposed a new row signal modulation method in order to display multi-gray image using super-twisted nematic liquid crystal display (STN-LCD), which has no complex computation, high selection ratio, and low driving voltage. By the proposed method, we have implemented a 320*240, 8-gray video-rate STN-LCD. For achieving a video-rate STN-LCD, 6 lines are selected at a time. Each row line is selected 8 times by equally distributed pulses throughout one frame. As a result, we can get 8 gray, video-rate image. The repetive horizontal pattern and the filckering was analyzed and the improvements have been presented.

  • 액체 로켓 엔진 점화 라인에 부착되는 연소기 점화기 중에 양단에 파열판이 부착되는 방식이 있다. 본 연구에서는 전단에 솔레노이드밸브가 있는 이러한 연소기 점화기에 대한 유량계수 시험을 수행하였다. 방사형 및 원주형 스코어를 가지는 인장형 파열판, 점화기에 대한 상온 수류 시험을 통하여, 유량계수에 대한 스코어, 유량, 파열판 두께, 전단 공기층 및 솔레노이드밸브의 영향을 살펴보았다.

  • One-Drop-Filling (ODF) process is an advanced vacuum filling process in LCoS manufacture line. The merits not only increase the throughput of liquid crystal filling process but also reduce the number of equipments. Studying application of ODF process in LCoS panel manufacturing is the purpose of is this article. The accuracy of liquid crystal drop size, the stability of seal dispensing and the nozzle size etc. In the tiny panel manufacture are more important than those factors in normal panel manufacture.

  • Now a days, many different kinds of display technologies such as Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED), and Liquid Crystal On Silicon (LCOS) are designed. And these display technologies will be used in many application products like High Definition Televisions (HDTVs) or mobile devices. In this paper, pattern generation circuit for display test is proposed. The proposed circuit will be embedded in the control circuit of display chip. Two differenct kinds of patterns is generated by the circuit. One is block pattern for color test, and the other is line pattern for pixel test. The shape of test pattern is determined by the values of registers in pattern generation circuit. The circuit is designed using Verilog HDL RTL code.

On-line Trace Enrichment for the Determination of Insulin in Biological Samples Using Reversed-Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatography with Column Switching

  • Column--swtiching technique with a reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatographic method has been developed for the routine analysis of radioiodinated insulin and its degadation products in biological fluids. The diluted biological samples were loaded onto a precolumn packed with LiChrosorb RP-8 $(25-40{\;}{\mu}m)$ using 0.1% trifuoroacetic acid (TFA) in water as a washing solvent. After valve switching, the concentrated insulins were eluted in the back-flush mode and separated by a W-Porex $C_{18}$ column with a gradient of 0.1% TFA in water and 0.1% TFA in acetonitrile as the mobile phase. The method showed good precision, accuracy and speed with the detection limit of 20 pg/ml. Total analysis time per sample was about 40 min and the coefficients of variation were less than 8, 2%.

Antiferroelectric Liquid Crystal Display with High Image Quality

  • The antiferroelectric liquid crystal display (AFLCD) is unique display that can show the perfect moving image using the passive matrix driving scheme. We optimized the driving waveform and introduced the dual driving method. Also, by improving this driving method and using line inversion method, we realized AFLC display with high image quality, which has 160(RGB)${\times}$240, 32768colors, crosstalk free and flicker free. The contrast ratio is greater than 60:1, and the brightness is above 200cd/$m^2$.

Mini-model 초전도 케이블의 유전손실 특성 (The Dielectric loss Properties of Mini-model Superconducting Cable)

  • A high-Tc superconducting cable(HTS cable) is expected as an underground power line supplying the electrical power the densely populated city in future. The electrical insulation is very important for develop HTS cable system because it is operated a high voltage and in cryogenic temperature. We manufactured a mini-model cable and measured a tan$\delta$ of cable using schering bridge. The tan$\delta$ of PPLP was lower than that of Tyvek and Kraft at a given temperature, the tan$\delta$ of PPLP was 1.16${\times}$10-3. According to the increase of electric stress the tan$\delta$ increased because partial discharge occurred inside butt gap of mini-model cable. However, the tan$\delta$ decreased by increase of liquid nitrogen pressure. This reason is thought by decrease of part discharge between butt gap by increase of liquid nitrogen pressure.
