유한요소해석을 이용한 해양 로딩암의 구조안전성 평가 (Structural Safety Evaluation of Marine Loading Arm Using Finite Element Analysis)

  • This paper presents a structural design review of a marine loading arm used for the fluid transfer of a liquid cargo from a ship or offshore plant. The marine loading arm is installed on a ship, offshore plant, or jetty in order to load or unload liquid cargo such as crude oil, liquefied natural gas (LNG), chemical products, etc. The structural design of this marine loading arm is obliged to comply with the design and construction specifications regulated by the oil companies and international marine forum (OCIMF). In this paper, the structural safety of the initial design for the marine loading arm is evaluated for the design load conditions required by various operational modes. The evaluated results based on a finite element analysis (FEA) are reviewed in relation to the OCIMF specifications.

  • The reduction behavior of $TiO_{2}$ in Al and Al/CaSi containing self-reducing $TiO_{2}$ briquettes(SRTB) was investigated. The maximum yield of Ti was expected with the slag composition of 45-55%CaO in the $CaO-Al_{2}O_{3}$ system. When $CaCO_{3}$ was used as a flux, the oxidation loss of reducing agent by $CO_{2}$ should be compensated, and therefore it leads to excessive requirement of the reducing agent. By using Al and CaSi mixture as a reducing agent of $TiO_{2}$, the reaction products both oxide and metal could be liquefied, and separated effectively with each other. As a result, the yield of Ti increases remarkably. The optimum mixing ratio of CaSi to Al is 78%CaSi-22%Al.

  • The sulfuric acid may react with the hardened cement paste and originate expansive products which can induce swelling and disaggregation of concrete. The purpose of this study is to estimate the antibacterial performance of antibiotics and the effect of absorbed condition of restorative mortar, the number of coating times and coating contents with antibiotic on the fundamental properties of restorative mortar spead with antibiotics. Also, testing items such as bonding strength, abrasion contents, contents of water absorption, contents of air permeability was tested to estimate the fundamental properties in this study. In results, the novellus bacillus inhabiting in sewer concrete structures was restrained by antibiotics developed in this study. And bonding strength of restorative mortar spread with antibiotics was similla to that of plain mortar. But, resistance to abrasion, water absorption and air permeability of restorative mortar spread with antibiotics was superior to that of plain mortar.

  • 본 연구에서는 열가수분해 기술을 이용하여 AI 발생으로 인해 살처분된 가금류 사체를 처리하고 연료화 가능성을 판단하고자 하였다. 실험결과 가금류 사체는 일부 모래를 제외하고 모두 액상화 되었으며, 운전온도 $190^{\circ}C$, 운전시간 60분에서 최적효율을 나타냈다. 열가수분해 후 발생한 액상생성물은 탄소 함유량과 발열량이 높고 회분의 함량이 낮아 연료화 하기에 좋은 조건을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 별도의 보조연료 투입 없이 연소 시 발생하는 폐열만을 활용해 열가수분해 설비를 운전하는 것이 가능하였으며, 연소 시 발생하는 배출가스는 대기에 미치는 영향은 적은 것으로 나타났다.

황산으로 중화시킨 액상 레드머드를 혼입한 시멘트 페이스트의 수화특성 (Hydration Characteristics of Liquid Red Mud Mixed Cement Paste Neutralized with Sulfuric Acid)

  • 본 연구에서는 액상 레드머드를 첨가한 시멘트계 재료의 강도저하를 개선하기 위해서, pH가 10~12인 액상 레드머드(LRM)에 황산을 첨가하여 pH를 6~8로 조절한 중화레드머드(LRM+S)를 제조하였다. LRM과 LRM+S를 각각 시멘트 페이스트에 첨가하여 수화열, 압축강도, 수화생성물을 확인하였다. 수화열 측정결과 LRM을 첨가한 시멘트 페이스트는 Plain와 비교하여 발열량이 낮고 수화속도가 지연되었지만, LRM+S를 첨가한 시멘트 페이스트는 Plain의 수화열 피크와 유사하게 나타났다. 압축강도 측정결과 PS-LRM의 압축강도는 모든 재령에서 Plain의 압축강도보다 저하되었고 28일 재령에서 55% 수준을 나타내었다. 반면에 PS-LRM+S의 압축강도는 Plain의 압축강도와 비교하여 28일 재령에서 유사한 수준을 나타내었다. XRD 분석 결과 PS-LRM는 3일부터 Ca(OH)2 피크가 확인되었지만, PS-LRM+S의 경우 Plain과 유사하게 1시간부터 Ca(OH)2 피크가 나타났다. 따라서 강알칼리성의 액상 레드머드에 황산을 첨가하여 중화레드머드를 제조하여 시멘트계 재료에 첨가하면 강도저하를 개선할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

53ft 액화천연가스 탱크 컨테이너의 정적 구조 강도 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Static Structural Strength Evaluation of 53ft Liquefied Natural Gas Tank Container)

  • This study aims to analyze and evaluate the structural strength of a 53ft Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) tank container according to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 1496-3, amidst growing global demand for LNG transportation. The research was conducted in two main stages: structural analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) under various load conditions, and structural strength tests following ISO 1496-3 test procedures. The structural analysis was performed considering different loading conditions to assess the structural safety of the tank container. Calculated stresses were compared with allowable stress under specified load conditions. The structural strength tests were conducted at Mokpo National University's Subsea Umbilical cable Riser Flowline R&D Center, which provided a suitable testing environment. The study found that calculated stresses met the allowable stress under specified load conditions, confirming the structural safety of the tank container. Additionally, the maximum deformation and permanent deformation satisfied the design criteria for all test cases, indicating the container's structural strength meets requirements. The research also contributed valuable data for future structural strength tests of similar products and facilitated the development of safe and efficient LNG transportation solutions by developing effective test procedures in accordance with ISO 1496-3 standards.

Isolation of a Novel Gellan-Depolymerizing Bacillus sp. Strain YJ-1

  • A novel microorganism that could degrade high molecular weight gellan was screened and isolated from soil. On gellan plate, the microorganism grew well and completely liquefied the plate. The gellan-degrading microorganism was isolated by pure culture on glucose and nutrient agar medium afterwards. The 16S rDNA sequence analysis and biochemical tests using an API 50CHB/20E kit revealed that the strain belonged to Bacillus sp. The isolate, named as Bacillus sp. YJ-1, showed optimum gellan-degrading activity in 0.5% gellan medium at pH 7.5 and 37$^{\circ}C$. The activity was measured and evaluated by the thiobarbituric acid and thin-layer chromatography method. Mass spectrometry revealed that the major gellan.. depolymerized product was an unsaturated tetrasaccharide consisting of $\Delta$4,5-glucuronic acid-(1$\rightarrow$4 )-$\beta$-D-glucose-(1$\rightarrow$4)- $\alpha$-L-rhamnose-(1$\rightarrow$3)-$\beta$-D-glucose, which is a dehydrated repeating unit of gellan, thus the enzyme was identified as gellan lyase. When the gellan was present in the medium, the gellan-degrading activity was much higher than that in glucose-grown cells. These results indicate that in the presence of gellan, Bacillus sp. YJ-1 is able to metabolize the gellan by inducing gellan-degrading enzymes that can degrade gellan into small molecular weight oligosaccharides, and then the gellan. depolymerized products are taken up by the cells and utilized by intracellular enzymes.

촉매 열수탄화(Hydrothermal carbonization)공정을 이용한 폐목재의 고형연료 제조 및 특성 연구 (Conversion of Wood Waste into Solid Biofuel Using Catalytic HTC Process)

  • The objective of this work is to produce solid biofuel from sawdust using the HTC (Hydrothermal carbonization) process. The HTC process of feedstock involves the raw material coming into contact with high temperature and pressurized water. The HTC process could produce gaseous, liquefied and solid products, but this study focused on solid product only as an alternative to coal. In this study, sawdust used for a feedstock and its moisture content was under 5%. Water was added with the feedstock to raise moisture content to 80% and also used catalysts. The HTC process was performed at temperature range from 200 to $270^{\circ}C$ and reaction time was 15 to 120 min. Rising temperature resulted in increasing the higher heating value (HHV) of HTC product. In case of adding catalyst, HHV of solid biofuel was higher and reaction occurred at lower temperature and pressure. Also, HTC solid product had been characterized and found to be hydrophobic, increased HHV (over 40%), and pelletized easily compared to raw material.

저식염 속성 정어리 발효 액화물 가공에 관한 연구(III) - 마쇄육의 발효 액화에 미치는 가수.가온 전처리 및 식염첨가 방법의 영향 - (Studies on the Processing of Rapid- and Low Salt-Fermented Liquefaction of Sardine (Sardinops melanoslicta)(III) - Effect of Pretreatment Method on Water Adding, Heating, and NaCl Added to the Fermented Liquefaction of Chopped Whole Sardine -)

  • This study was attempt to improve the quality of rapid- and low salt-fermented liquefaction of sardine (Sardinops melanoslicta). Effect of pretreatment methods such as water adding, heating, and intermittent NaCl adding on fermented liquefaction of chopped whole sardine were investigated. The divisions of the experimental samples by pretreatment methods were as follows; Sample A (water adding and heating): chopped whole sardine adding 20% water and then adding 3 and 5% NaCl consecutively at the intervals of 3 and 6 hrs during heating for 9 hrs at $50^{\circ}C$ and then fermented at $33^{\circ}C$ for 90 days. Sample B (preheating): chopped whole sardine with 8% NaCl and heating at $50^{\circ}C$ for 9 hrs and then fermented at $33^{\circ}C$ for 90 days. Sample C (control): neither pretreatment methods of water adding nor preheating on chopped whole sardine with 13% NaCl and then fermented at $33^{\circ}C$ for 90 days. Comparison of the appropriate fermentation period, yield of hydrolysate, chemical composition of fermented liquefied products were carried out. The highest content of amino nitrogen appeared at 60 days in the sample A, 75 days in the sample B, and 90 days in the sample C during the fermentation period. The appropriate fermentation period of the sample A was shorten 15 days than the sample B and 30 days than the sample C in the processing of sardine. The product A was lower NaCl (8.5%) and lower histamine content (25mg/100g) than the sample B and C. Possibly, three kinds of pretreatment methods such as water adding, heating, and intermittent NaCl adding, might be recommend as the processing of rapid- and low salt-fermented liquefaction product of chopped whole sardine.

  • 대기 오염 물질 저감과 연소 효율 증가를 위해서 연소 환경 내 일산화탄소를 정밀하게 측정하는 것은 필수적인 요소이다. 일산화탄소(carbon monoxide, CO)는 불완전 연소 때 급격히 증가하며 질소산화물(nitrogen oxide, NOx)과 Trade-off 관계로 오염 물질 배출량과 불완전 연소 반응에 기여하는 중요한 가스종이다. 특히, 대형 연소 시스템 중 열처리로의 경우, 강판 표면위 산화층 형성을 억제하기 위해 과잉 연료 조건에서 환원 분위기로 운전이 진행된다. 이는 많은 양의 미연분 일산화탄소가 배출되는 원인이기도 하다. 하지만 연소 환경 내에서 일산화탄소 농도는 불균일한 연소 반응과 열악한 측정 환경으로 인하여 실시간 측정이 어렵다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해서 광학적 측정 방식인 파장 가변형 다이오드 레이저 흡수 분광법(tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy, TDLAS)이 각광을 받고 있다. TDLAS 기법은 열악한 현장 측정, 빠른 응답성, 비접촉식 방식으로 연소 환경 내 특정 가스종 농도 측정에 적합하다. 본 연구는 과잉 연료 조건에서 당량비 제어를 위한 연소시스템을 제작하였으며 연소 배기가스 생성을 위해 LPG/공기 화염을 이용하였다. 당량비 변화에 따른 CO 농도 측정은 TDLAS와 Voigt 함수 기반 시뮬레이션으로 분석하였다. 또한 연소 생성물로부터 간섭이 없는 CO 광 흡수 영역 확보를 위해 근적외선 영역의 4300.6 cm-1을 선택하여 실험을 진행하였다.
