  • This thesis proposed a method that connecting step motor to image send board which can acquire image to move and remote controlling via streaming image board of PDA(personal digital assistant) based on embedded Linux which is using wireless network There are three embedded Linux system to embody movable image send board. First, though the wireless network a signal of PDA is transmitted to the board which has embedded Linux and a system which is controlled by the expansion I/O port of the board. Second, it's a system streaming realtime image at a PDA which has embedded Linux. The last is a system which controls a process of image board using TCP/IP communication and image send board at PC. These are the system which can use industrial settings and homes. It can also make use of an embodiment method about travelling image robot.

  • In this paper, we present the wet-based monitoring system for industrial controller such as inverter controller for hydraulic elevators. The monitoring system is using an embedded web server on embedded Linux platform. The control board of system-On-Chip (SoC) is based on ARM7TDMI with Ethernet controller. Wet-based monitoring system using embedded Linux platform can reduce the cost, and have flexibility both of technical issues and locations If the system to be monitored. The system shows the feasibility of remote monitoring system based on embedded Linux platform.

  • Complying with highly demand of information through internet. the utility of computer and network is rapidly provided with to schools. This situation brings about many problems. For example, the stolen information through false identification(Hacking) is the most greatest concern. In this paper it tells that the efficient way of preservating computer use is by using operating system of Open Source, which is Linux system. Further more, it shows the system which was organized by IP-Tabling (offered service-Packet Filtering method from the Linux system) functions well as a security system.

  • With the growth of the IoT market, malware security threats are steadily increasing for devices that use the linux architecture. However, except for the major malware causing serious security damage such as Mirai, there is no related technology or research of security community about linux malware. In addition, the diversity of devices, vendors, and architectures in the IoT environment is further intensifying, and the difficulty in handling linux malware is also increasing. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an analysis system based on ELF which is the main format of linux architecture, and a binary based analysis system considering IoT environment. The ELF-based analysis system can be pre-classified for a large number of malicious codes at a relatively high speed and a relatively low-speed binary-based analysis system can classify all the data that are not preprocessed. These two processes are supposed to complement each other and effectively classify linux-based malware.

  • In this paper, we have designed a remote controlable HDR System using all embedded linux board. The system is composed of three parts - a HDR System, a PC client program for remote control and a Nameserver for registering and aquisition of the IP address. The system is built in an embedded board using a linux kernel. With the Linux the system can support networking and file system for a hard disk management In addition, the system embeds a web-server and a ftp-server for remote manipulation and file transfer. And the hardwares of the system are controlled by the linux device driver mechanism. MPEG1/2 technique is used to compress TV tuner signal and external analog video/audio signal. And compressed data is stored in a hard disk. The data stored in the system is accesable through lan or internet. And RTP protocol is used to enable the system to service live stream of instant video/audio input.

  • With the recent wide adoption of Linux in the fields of IoT, embedded, mobile, desktop and server industries, the importances of understanding the Linux system architecture as well as customizing the Linux system are increasing very steeply. Accordingly, the capabilities of building every component of Linux system from source code files have been important. The LFS (Linux From Scratch) site[1] guides the steps of building the basic Linux system from source files. The steps consist of build host preparation step, temporary system building step, final system building step, and system configuration and boot preparation step. However, the underlying concepts behind the steps used in building LFS are difficult to understand, particularly to the beginner. This paper analyzes the LFS build steps and reveal the core build concepts and principles used in each step. Additionally, this paper shows the measured package build times obtained from our build experience.

  • Linux has peculiarities of safety, flexibility, and open source. and Linux supports various hardware platforms. But because general Linux was designed for high performance H/W, Linux has several points to support for embedded system with limited resource. Specially, a main point is booting time that is spent to tens of second. In this paper, we purpose a fast booting scheme of Linux for Embedded System and estimate a performance of scheme purposed through realized prototype. Specially, to reduce booting time in environment of embedded system, we optimize boot loader, kernel and root file system. As a result, boot time reduce 28 second to 11 second in HBE-EMPOS II.

  • In this paper, we describe the issues associated with implementing embedded Linux system. As an example of embedded system, a router which utilizes the powerful networking capability of Linux is implemented and the details of porting Linux to the dedicated hardware is discussed. Several efficient methods to avoid performance degradation resulted from porting lap top computer oriented Linux to embedded system are suggested. To verify the eligibility of the method to embed Linux into standalone system and to see the performance of the implemented router, comparison data with one of the most popular routers is presented.

  • This paper implements dual-kernel system using standard Linux and real-time embedded Linux for the real-time control of intelligent robot systems. Such system provides more useful services including standard Linux thread that is easy to implement complicated tasks and real-time tasks for the deterministic response to velocity control. Here, an open source real-time embedded Linux, XENOMAI, is ported on embedded target board. And for interfacing with motor controller we adopted a real-time serial device driver. The real-time task was implemented with a priority to keep the cyclic control command for trajectory control. In order to validate deterministic response of the proposed system, the performance measurement of the delay in performing trajectory control with feedback loop is evaluated with non real-time standard Linux. The proposed software architecture is anticipated to take advantage of features in both standard Linux and real-time operating systems for the intelligent robot systems.

  • Open operating system, Linux is the traditional Web, E-mail, DNS, FTP server, as well as being used in Cloud and Big data infrastructure. In addition, Linux is also used like a desktop or mobile devices, smart TV and cars. In particular, stepping up to the IoT era at this time is expected to be greater proportion occupied by Linux. As the use of Linux has increased security has emerged as an important factor. User management is core of Linux system security. In this paper, Classifying Linux user and analyzed the role of the user-specific file. Finally, we analyzed the linux management technologies and useful user security tools.
