Neuro controller of the robot manipulator using fuzzy logic (퍼지 논리를 이용한 로보트 매니퓰레이터의 신경 제어기)

  • The multi-layer neural network possesses the desirable characteristics of parallel distributed processing and learning capacity, by which the uncertain variation of the parameters in the dynamically complex system can be handled adoptively. However the error back propagation algorithm that has been utilized popularly in the learning procedure of the mulfi-Jayer neural network has the significant limitations in the real application because of its slow convergence speed. In this paper, an approach to improve the convergence speed is proposed using the fuzzy logic that can effectively handle the uncertain and fuzzy informations by linguistic level. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by computer simulation of PUMA 560 robot manipulator.

  • This article reports an attempt to perform a similarity analysis on a collection of 25 culinary manuscripts in Chosun periods using a set of quantitative text analysis methods. Historical culinary texts are valuable resources for linguistic, historic, and cultural studies. We consider the similarity of two texts as the distributional similarities of the functional components of the texts. In the case of culinary texts, text elements such as food names, cooking methods, and ingredients are regarded as functional components. We derive the similarity information from the distributional characteristics of the two key functional components, cooking methods and ingredients. The results are also quantified and visualized to achieve a better understanding of the properties of the individual texts and the collection of the texts as a whole.

  • In this paper, the author proposed FLVSC(Fuzzy Logic Variable Structure Controller), of which control rules are extracted from the concepts of VSC(Variable Structure Control). FLC(Fuzzy Logic Controller) based on linguistic rules has the advantages of not needing of some exact mathematical model for plant to be controlled. The proposed method has the characteristics which are viewed in conventional VSC, e.g. insensitivity to a class of disturbances, parameter variations and uncertainties in sliding mode. In addition, the method has the properties of FLC - noise rejection capability etc. The computer simulations have been carried out for a DC servo motor to show the usefulness of the proposed method and the effects of disturbances and parameter variations are considered.

  • 개념은 그 개념을 나타내기 위한 특성들이 결합된 지식의 단위이며 각 특성은 개념에 속한 개체들의 성질을 축약한 것으로 정의될 수 있다[4]. 이 논문은 백과사전 설명문 텍스트를 분석하여 개념을 구성하는데 필요한 정보를 몇 개의 대표적인 특성으로 분류하고, 이를 개념의 특성정보로 구축하였으며, 이를 관련 개념 문서에 적용하여 특성 정보를 인식하는 것을 보여준다. 본 연구는 백과사전이 세계 지식(world knowledge) 전반을 함축적으로 표현하고 있다는 가정에서 출발하였으며 적은 양의 데이터에 대한 수동 분석 결과를 통해 많은 양의 코퍼스를 분석한 것과 같은 의미있는 결과를 얻었다. 백과사전에 표현된 많은 개념 중 "질병"에 관하여 실험한 결과 평균 81%의 정확율로 질병의 특성 정보인 원인, 증상, 치료를 자동 인식함을 보여주었다. 개념의 요소 정보 인식은 정보의 이나 질의 응답과 같은 분야에 적용될 수 있다.

The Distinction of Argument and Adjunct as a Gradient Notion

  • The distinction of argument and adjunct has been an important notion in linguistic theories, especially at the interface of syntax and semantics, and this distinction has been believed to be binary and categorical. However, there are some gray-area cases such as instruments and participant locations, for which the distinction does not appear to be so clear. In this paper, I will explore whether the argument/adjunct distinction is categorical by examining the controversial cases, particularly the instrumental PPs. I will review the syntactic, semantic, and psychological criteria and evidence that have been proposed in literature and see if instruments can be categorized as either arguments or adjuncts by those criteria. By showing that different criteria yield contradictory results, I conclude that roles like instruments have characteristics of both arguments and adjuncts, which seems to suggest that the argument/adjunct distinction is not categorical.

  • Quality information is known to have the characteristic of continuous distribution in many manufacturing processes. It is difficult to describe the process condition by classifying the distribution into discrete ranges which is based on the set concept. Fuzzy control chart has been developed for the control of linguistic data but it still utilizes the dichotomous notion of classical set theory. In this paper, the fuzzy sampling method is studied in order to manage the ambiguous data properly and incorporated for generating fuzzy control chart. The method is based on the fuzzy set concept and considered to be appropriate for the realization of a complete fuzzy control chart. The fuzzy control chart was compared with the conventional generalized p-chart in the sensitivity for quality distribution and robustiness against the noise. The fuzzy control chart with the fuzzy sampling method showed better characteristics.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the design characteristics of women's swimwear from 1955 to 1969 in Korea using documentary research sources. Both visual and linguistic elements found in the illustrations and advertisements that appeared in periodicals from 1955 to 1969 were used as primary sources. The primary sources were 아리랑, 여상, 여성계, 여성동아, 여원, 주부생활. The methods of content analysis and frequency seriation were combined to analyze the data obtained from the primary sources. Seriational analysis of the data were performed by ordering the frequency chronologically for the entire fifteen-year period. As the result of the study, it was found that the design of the swimwear during this period changed consistently in terms of swimwear type, shape of thigh line, textile design and decorative details. The degree of skin exposure was also continuously increased in different body parts.

  • Spam mail is one of the most general mail dysfunctions, which may cause psychological damage to internet users. As internet usage increases, the amount of spam mail has also gradually increased. Indiscriminate sending, in particular, occurs when spam mail is sent using smart phones or tablets connected to wireless networks. Spam mail consists of approximately 68% of mail traffic; however, it is believed that the true percentage of spam mail is at a much more severe level. In order to analyze and detect spam mail, we introduce a technique based on spam mail characteristics and text mining; in particular, spam mail is detected by extracting the linguistic analysis and language processing. Existing spam mail is analyzed, and hidden spam signatures are extracted using text clustering. Our proposed method utilizes a text mining system to improve the detection and error detection rates for existing spam mail and to respond to new spam mail types.

  • Intellignet control of the dyeing machine is a central part to improve the productivity of autonomous dyeing systems. Recently, many number of control methods are introuduced. One of them is fuzzy logic algorithm. Fuzzy logic based controller has many desirable advantages, which are simple to implement on the real time and need not the information of dynamic characteristics of the systems. In this paper we propose a new dyeing machine control simulator using fuzzy logic algorithm as an approach to develop the intellingent auto-dyeing control system. This developing approach of the fuzzy control simulator is based on linguistic control stratege of experts.

  • The multi-layer neural network that has broadly been utilized in designing the controller of robot manipulator possesses the desirable characteristics of learning capacity, by which the uncertain variation of the dynamic parameters of robot can be handled adaptively, and parallel distributed processing that makes it possible to control on real-time. However the error back propagation algorithm that has been utilized popularly in the learning of the multi-layer neural network has the problem of its slow convergencs speed. In this paper, an approach to improve the convergence speed is proposed using fuzzy logic that can effectively handle the uncertain and fuzzy informations by linguistic level. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by computer simulation of PUMA 560 robot manipulator.
