  • In this paper, it is presented a new technique to the design and real-time implementation of fuzzy control system based-on digital signal processors in order to improve the precision and robustness for system of industrial robot. Fuzzy control has emerged as one of the most active and fruitful areas for research in the applications of fuzzy set theory, especially in the real of industrial processes. In this thesis, a self-organizing fuzzy controller for the industrial robot manipulator with a actuator located at the base is studied. A fuzzy logic composed of linguistic conditional statements is employed by defining the relations of input-output variable of the controller, in the synthesis of a FLC, one of the most difficult problems is the determination of linguistic control rules from the human operators. To overcome this difficult, SOFC is proposed for a hierachical control structure consisting of basic level and high level that modify control rules.

  • Using a sole input variable simplifies the design process for the fuzzy logic controller(FLC). This is called single-input fuzzy logic controller(SFLC). However it is still deficient in the capability of adapting to the varying operating conditions. We here design a single-input adaptive fuzzy logic controller(AFLC) using a switching function of the sliding mode control. The AFLC can directly incorporate linguistic fuzzy control rules into the controller. Hence some parameters of the membership functions characterizing the linguistic terms of the fuzzy rules can be adjusted by an adaptive law. In the proposed AFLC center values of fuzzy sets are directly adjusted by a fuzzy logic system. We prove that 1) its closed-loop system is globally stable in the sense that all signals involved are bounded and 2)its tracking error converges to zero asymptotically. We perform computer simulation using a nonlinear plant.

A fuzzy login composed of linguistic conditional statements is employed by defining the relations of input-output variable of the controller, In the synthesis of a FLC, one of the most difficult problems is the determination of linguistic control rules from the human operators. To overcome this difficult SOFC is proposed for a hierarchical control structure consisting of basic level and high level that modify control rules. The proposed SOFC scheme is simple in structure, fast in computation, and suitable for implementation of real-time control. Performance of the SOFC is illustrated by simulation and experimental results for robot with tow joints.

  • This paper presents and adaptive fuzzy controller using fuzzy neural networks(FNNs). The adaptive controller uses two FNNs. One FNN is used to identify a fuzzy model of controlled object. The other FNN is used as a fuzzy controller. The fuzzy controller is designed with the linguistic rules of the fuzzy model. The response of the designed control system is checked with a linguistic response analysis proposed by the authors. An adaptive tuning of the control rules of the FNN controller is made possible utilizing the fuzzy model. Simulations using nonlinear controlled objects were done to verify the proposed control system.

  • Implementing the linguistic theories on computer, we resolve the problems for restrictions of computer and increase processing efficiency for systemization not for linguistic theory itself. Thus, we modify the grammatical theory to be applied to systems. This paper reports the various problems about constructing dictionaies, defining rules, and appling universal principles and metarules, which is caused to implement the systems based on GPSG. In semantic interpretations, logical expressions which correspond Montague grammar are acquired, and we make a rule connect with several logical expressions. And we show the efficiency of the this method through implementing parser.

  • One of the methods to simplify the design process for a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is to reduce the number of variables representing the rule antecedent. This in turn decreases the number of control rules, membership functions, and scaling factors. For this purpose, we designed a single-input FLC that uses a sole fuzzy input variable. However, it is still deficient in the capability of adapting some varying operating conditions although it provides a simple method for the design of FLC's. We here design two simple-structured adaptive fuzzy logic controllers (SAFLC's) using the concept of the single-input FLC. Linguistic fuzzy control rules are directly incorporated into the controller by a fuzzy basis function. Thus some parameters of the membership functions characterizing the linguistic terms of the fuzzy control rules can be adjusted by an adaptive law. In our controllers, center values of fuzzy sets are directly adjusted by an adaptive law. Two SAFLC's are designed. One of them uses a Hurwitz error dynamics and the other a switching function of the sliding mode control (SMC). We also prove that 1) their closed-loop systems are globally stable in the sense that all signals involved are bounded and 2) their tracking errors converge to zero asymptotically. We perform computer simulations using a nonlinear plant.

  • The important problem in designing a Fuzzy Logic Controller(FLC) is generation of fuzzy control rules and it is usually the case that they are given by human experts of the problem domain. However, it is difficult to find an well-trained expert to any given problem. In this paper, I describes an application of genetic algorithm, a well-known global search algorithm to automatic generation of fuzzy control rules for FLC design. Fuzzy rules are automatically generated by evolving initially given fuzzy rules and membership functions associated fuzzy linguistic terms. Using genetic algorithm efficient fuzzy rules can be generated without any prior knowledge about the domain problem. In addition expert knowledge can be easily incorporated into rule generation for performance enhancement. We experimented genetic algorithm with a non-trivial vehicle controling problem. Our experimental results showed that genetic algorithm is efficient for designing any complex control system and the resulting system is robust.

  • There have been some notes on the functional unity of rules or conspiracy in Linguistics. In this paper, I show that so-called 'elsewhere condition', first mentioned in phonology, is observed not only in phonology, but also in morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. And I argue that it is a kind of functional unity of rules or conspiracy in cross-component of linguistic theories. How to handle this in the macro-scopic view of linguist ice is another major issue in further research.

  • This paper describes the model of a simplified trawl system and a control method by using fuzzy algorithm in controlling the depth of trawl gear. Fuzzy logic control rules are sets of linguistic expression that are used by an experienced performer in real operation. For real time processing of the control rules, the look-up tables are used. Computer simulation results indicate that the proposed fuzzy controller shows fast response with minimum steady-state error and robustness properties to the simulated disturbance.
