The induced genetic divergence was estimated in 44 mutant lines of finger millet variety GPU 26, developed by single and combination treatments with gamma rays, EMS and NG using three multivariate analyses. The mutant lines were grouped into eight genetically diverse clusters by multivariate D2 and canonical analyses and 11 clusters by dendrogram grouping through Gower's similarity coefficient. The clustering pattern in these three methods was almost similar. Twelve mutant lines in D2 and 13 in the dendrogram grouping method were grouped in the parental cluster(Cluster I) indicating that they did not possess enough divergence from the parent to be classified as micromutant lines. However a large proportion of mutant lines showed divergence from the parent variety and also among themselves. No definite relationship of mutagenic origin and clustering of mutant lines were observed. The mutant lines developed from the same mutagenic treatments often grouped into different clusters indicating that each mutagenic treatment was effective in inducing diverse types of changes in the nine traits studied. The hybridization program between the divergent mutant lines GE 2-2 or GE 3-4 with GG 3-1 is expected to give promising and desirable segregants in subsequent generations. Traits such as days to 50% flowering and days to maturity had major contributions to the induced genetic divergence.
We present a robust power transmission lines detection method based on vanishing point estimation. Vanishing point estimation can be helpful to detect power transmission lines because parallel lines converge on the vanishing point in a projected 2D image. However, it is not easy to estimate the vanishing point correctly in an image with complex background. Thus, we first propose a vanishing point estimation method on power transmission lines by using a probabilistic voting procedure based on intersection points of line segments. In images obtained by our system, power transmission lines are located in a fan-shaped area centered on this estimated vanishing point, and therefore we select the line segments that converge to the estimated vanishing point as candidate line segments for power transmission lines only in this fan-shaped area. Finally, we detect the power transmission lines from these candidate line segments. Experimental results show that the proposed method is robust to noise and efficient to detect power transmission lines.
The purpose of this study was to examine the development of detailed description for drawing houses according to the shapes of lines, and dimensions of space from 4 to 5 years-old children. Participants were 76 children from a daycare center in Busan, Korea. Each child was asked to draw 4 different houses according to the shapes of lines and dimensions of space, such as: straight lines and 2-dimensional pictures straight lines and 3-dimensional Models, curved lines and 2-dimensional pictures and curved lines and 3-dimensional models. The children's drawings were scored based on a "detailed description rating table" which consisted of 10 items. Summarizing the overall results, first, 5 year-olds scored significantly higher than 4 year-olds in the detailed description of 4 different house models. Second, the houses with straight lines scored significantly higher than those with curved lines in the detailed description. Third, there were no significant differences between 2-dimensional houses and those of 3-dimensional models in the detailed description. These results suggest that the detailed description of young children's drawing is developed as children grow older, and drawing with straight lines are earlier developed than curved lined drawings.

The development of species-specific fish cell lines has become a valuable tool for biological research. In recent years, marine medaka Oryzias dancena has been recognized as a good experimental model fish but there are no reports of establishment of cell lines from this fish. In this study, two cell lines from O. dancena blastula embryos were established from 41 total trials (4.9%). The two cell lines displayed typical in vitro morphology and have been cultured for >121 passages, which corresponds to 293 days. The doubling times of the cell lines were 29.84 and 28.59 h, respectively, and both possessed the potential to expand in a clonal manner, albeit with significant differences between the two cell lines. The absence of any of the four main medium supplements; i.e., fish serum, fetal bovine serum, basic fibroblast growth factor, and medaka embryo extract, significantly inhibited growth. The proportion of cells possessing normal chromosome number was 45% and 46.7% of the cell lines, respectively. Taken together, two cell lines that proliferate continuously were established from marine medaka and these cell lines may provide a basic tool for characterizing the unique features of this fish species.
Recently the optical fiber lines have been widely deployed in the trunk lines and digital data service network. The unexpected failures of optical fiber lines by natural disasters and road construction work have increased rear by rear and the number of damaged telecommunication lines per failures is on increasing. In the meantime, it takes long time to recover the optical fiber lines failures. So, it is important to maintain and monitor the status of optical fiber lines for prevention of optical fiber lines failures. Therefore, KT(Korea Telecom) needs efficient and automatic maintenance system to operate and monitor the optical fiber lines. FLOMS(Fiber Line Operation and Monitor System) had been developed in '96 and pilot system was installed at telephone offices in '97. This paper describes the FLOMS which carries out the functions of efficient maintenance and supports for monitoring optical fiber lines and managing facilities in optical fiber lines.
There are many telluric absorption lines which are laid on the science spectrum in ground based spectroscopic observations. In especial, the IR region spectra are considerably contaminated by telluric lines. Therefore, many scientists have a difficulty in removing the telluric effect. We thus tried removing telluric lines with IGRINS data by two methods. One is using the standard stellar spectrum as telluric lines. The other adopt calculated synthetic telluric spectrum. Here we present the results of test for precise removing telluric lines on IGRINS spectra.
Without any doubts, the characteristics of regional, lines and lines section have dominating effects on the railway design of rectification to linear alignment. There are basically many types of characteristics: a) geological condition b) operation plan of lines and lines section c) condition of lines facilities level. The conventional deign method were exclusively used to railway design and construction. However, lot the optimum design, the more detail study are required.
This research evaluated the different types of deck to pier connections effects (one or two elastomeric bearing lines and rigid) on a concrete bridges. Three-dimensional bridge models behavior with different deck to pier connections and different distances of two bearing lines were studied under the service load. Also, the detailed connection system with two elastomeric bearing lines was modeled to evaluate the effect of changing distance between two-lines. Results indicated that the proper location of elastomeric bearings has a major impact on the transferring forces to the substructure. Double elastomeric bearing lines have a behavior between one line and rigid connections. Transferring bending moment to the substructure in two-lines is more than the corresponding value of the one line. Moreover, an increase in the distance of two-lines lead to a significant increase in the rotational stiffness of the connection, and an analytical solution was investigated for their relation. In fact, the semi-rigidity effect of this connection and its change due to the distance of bearings should be considered in the design process.
Electric transmission towers are facilities to transport electrical power from a plant to an electrical substation. The towers are connected using power lines that are installed with a proper sag by loosening the cable to lower the tension and to secure the sufficient clearance from the ground or nearby objects. The power line sag may extend over the tolerance due to the weather such as strong winds, temperature changes, and a heavy snowfall. Therefore the periodical mapping of the power lines is required but the poor accessibility to the power lines limit the work because most power lines are placed at the mountain area. In addition, the manual mapping of the power lines is also time-consuming either using the terrestrial surveying or the aerial surveying. Therefore we utilized multiple overlapping images acquired from a low-cost drone to automatically reconstruct the power lines in the object space. Two overlapping images are selected for epipolar image resampling, followed by the line extraction for the resampled images and the redundant images. The extracted lines from the epipolar images are matched together and reconstructed for the power lines primitive that are noisy because of the multiple line matches. They are filtered using the extracted line information from the redundant images for final power lines points. The experiment result showed that the proposed method successfully generated parabolic curves of power lines by interpolating the power lines points though the line extraction and reconstruction were not complete in some part due to the lack of the image contrast.
In today's world where a preference for prestigious brands prevails, it's essential to have creative design conceptions rather than try simple mimicking or following in order to be recognized for creative and objective design works. In that sense, the development of clothes design using construction lines offers a great approach towards the ideas of reinterpreting and creating new designs since it creates new forms by understanding lines as signs of conception and transforming them. That approach allows a designer to improve his or her imagination, creativity and expression in a freer and richer manner, think of many original ideas through diverse changing processes, and develop the skill to visualize the ideas by incorporating geometric forms of abstract lines into clothes. When approaching the conception of clothes design from the standpoint of construction lines, you need to adopt more specific and systematic design methods instead of vague imagination to introduce simple facts or theories to a new design process. That's one of the ways you can approach clothes design easily and enhance your conception skills. The process of clothes design according to the conception of construction lines is composed of the following stages; the preparation stage involves an understanding of the principles and the entire process of clothes design conception based on construction lines; the idea stage requires a designer to make free alterations of the given basic construction lines by moving and replacing the lines and sides in diverse ways; in the creation and expression stage, the designer uses the newly reconstructed construction lines to create clothes design; and in the evaluation stage, the designer makes a presentation of his or her subjective design works and has his or her works assessed and tested in an objective fashion. In today's modern society that demands new and original globalized design, the results of the study will help to invigorate the development of new fashion design in a more systematic and practical manner by suggesting a feasible and gradual educational program for the development of design based on the technique of construction lines.
