A Development of Landfill Liner by Utilizing Waste Lime (폐석회를 이용한 매립지 차수재 개발)

  • As the size of our industry and population inclose, the byproducts such as municipal solid wastes, industrial wastes are in the increasing phase. The treatment of such things is rising as a social problem. Today, the final disposal of these wastes depends mostly on the landfill, and the sanitary landfill is required and designed for preventing soil and groundwater contamination. Clays have been used for a liner material of a sanitary landfill, however, the high quality clay is hard to come by and quite expensive as a lining material in our country. Using the waste lime produced abundantly every year from chemical processes was studied here, made from the proper mixing of the bentonite and the waste lime meets the regulations from the USEPA. The soil property index tests (sieve analysis, specific gravity test Atterberg limit test) were performed, and at last to confirm the sorption characteristics of the bentonite and the waste lime the sorption isotherm equilibrium test and the sorption isotherm were performed with Toluene and Ethylbenzene which are the main components of the leachate from the landfill.

  • To prevent the percolation of leachate through the bottom of waste landfills, the liner system of various layers, such as compacted clay, geomembrane, geonet, geotextiles, and geocomposite is designed. Since the friction angle between a geomembrane and other geosynthetics is usually lower than that of the soil alone, the interfaces between soil and geosynthetic or geosynthetic-geosynthetic may become a possible plane of weakness, which leads to potential instability of the system under load of waste at side slopes. In this study, large triaxial tests are carried out with samples of remoulded wastes and direct shear interface friction tests are carried out to understand the frictional properties of geosynthetic-geosynthetic interfaces, which are required for analyzing the safety of side-slope liner systems.

  • Up to date, it is difficult to estimate the consistence of properties on the epoxy liner in service time because an estimation of the long term environment-deterioration with aging has not been processed. In the study, the estimation on epoxy liner is carried by the physical test 7 rounds. There are the elongation the and the crack bridging test in the part of physical tests. An elongation test is carried out with epoxy membrane and a crack bridging test is carried out with specimen painted epoxy on concrete. The subjects of test and estimation are a containment quality system and a fibre-glass reinforced system. The materials of these systems are a Robber added Epoxy, a Silica added Epoxy, and a Fiber reinforced Epoxy. Ensuring the test data, properties of epoxy liner was estimated and the change of properties was predicted on epoxy liners.

  • Structural behavior of high-pressure composite vessels of TYPE 3 (full-wrapped over a seamless aluminum liner) was studied through numerical simulations based on 3D nonlinear finite element method. Under high-pressure loading, a TYPE 3 composite vessel shows material nonlinearity due to elastic-plastic deformation of aluminum liner, and mismatch of deformation at the junction of cylinder and dome causes geometrical nonlinearity. Finite element modeling and analysis technique considering this nonlinearity was presented, and a pressure vessel of 6.8L of internal volume was analyzed. Design specification to satisfy requirements was determined based on analysis results.

  • Solid rocket motor that includes AL powder in propellant gets slag during static firing test. Slag is piled up to weak area in motor case and causes dangerous phenomena like explosion of motor. In this paper, It is shown that boots gap liner casting process was developed and static firing test was performed with better results.

  • Over the last few decades, noise has played a major role in the development of aircraft engines. The dominant noise is generated by the wake interactions of fan and downstream stator. Engine inlet and exhaust ducts are being fitted with liner materials that aid in damping fan related noise. In this paper, the radiation of duct internal noise from duct open ends with liners is studies via numerical methods. The linearized Euler's equations in generalized curvilinear coordinates are solved by the DRP scheme. The far field sound pressure levels are computed by the Kirchhoff integration method. Through comparison of sound directivity from bell-mouth duct with and without liners, it is shown that radiation from engine inlet is affected by liner effects or a soft wall boundary condition.

  • In this study, we investigated the cause analysis on fracture of diesel locomotive engine liner, which was trouble assuming the inflow of cooling water. In order to reveal the cause of fracture, we studied the use history of engine, the drawing of production appearance and the stress distribution of engine in use. Also, we conducted experiments such as tension strength test, bending test and hardness test. Next, we observed fractured sections by SEM for the purposed of explaining the fracture mechanism of engine liner. Test results showed that fracture mechanism was brittle fracture due to coarse casting structure and stress concentration caused by manufacturing badness.

  • 본 실험에서는 PMD Liner Nitride 공정의 최적화의 일환으로 현재 반도체 제조 공정에서 적용하고 있는 Nitride막들의 특성을 비교 분석함과 더불어 연관 공정인 BPSG 증착 및 Densification과의 관련 여부를 파악하기 위한 시도를 하였다. 특히 Nitride 박막 특성을 결정하는 중요한 요소인 Si-H 결합과 Si-NH-Si 결합의 농도 변화 분석을 위하여 FTIR Area 분석법을 이용하였다. 또한 증착된 Film의 안정성 여부를 판단하기 위하여 발생 가능한 정도의 RF Power 흔들림에 대한 Nitride 막의 Stress 변화 정도를 측정하였다.

  • As a matter of fact, the document which has been developed to resolve the obvious conflicts between the interests of buyer and seller is the bill of lading. The bill of lading provides the seller with some security against default by the buyer and the buyer with some assurance of performance of the seller before the buyer is required to make payment. So to speak, the B/L provides some extent protection for both seller and buyer. This is a study on the construction of Liner Bill of Lading(Code name : CONLINEBILL) adopted by BIMCO(The Baltic and International Maritime Conference) and is using a basic bill of lading in the liner ships operation. In this study, the writer makes a wider and deeper study of rights of rights and obligations of Contract Parties by means of the rules of construction, specially focusing the Carriers liability under Carriage of Goods by Sea Act 1971(COGSA 1971), Hague-Visby Rules and Korea Commercial Law.

벤토나이트산업의 현황 및 추세

  • 1. 선진국의 경우 한 사업체에서 광산-가공산업체-연구소를 운영하는 시스템으로서 제품규제부터 시작하여 계속적인 용도개발이 가능하다. 2. 한국의 벤토나이트 광업 및 가공산업체의 현황이 일본의 5분의 1규모이며 년간 생산량 및 수요량이 100,000톤 규모로서 세계 15위권에 해당된다. 3. 벤토나이트 광업의 영세화로 효율적이고 장기적인 개발이 되지 못한다. 4. 광량의 고갈 및 개발 침체로 수입량이 증대되고 있다. 5. 새로운 용도개발이 요구된다. 특히 최근 증대되는 cat litter용, 흡착제용등 우선 개발이 용이한 용도개발을 추진해야 하며 다음으로 방사성 폐기물 처분장 liner 및 brick용, 폐수처리용 유기-벤토나이트, 쓰레기매립장 liner용과 화장품용등의 부가가치를 향상시킬 수 있는 용도개발이 시급하다고 본다.
