A Preliminary Study on Piezo-aeroelastic Energy Harvesting Using a Nonlinear Trailing-Edge Flap

  • Recently, piezo-aeroelastic energy harvesting has received greater attention. In the present study, a piezo-aeroelastic energy harvester using a nonlinear trailing-edge flap is proposed, and its nonlinear aeroelastic behaviors are investigated. The energy harvester is modeled using a piezo-aeroelastic model of a two-dimensional typical section airfoil with a trailing-edge flap (TEF). A piezo-aeroelastic analysis is carried out using RL and time-integration methods, and the results are verified with the experimental data. The linearizing method using a describing function is used for the frequency domain analysis of the nonlinear piezo-aeroelastic system. From the linear and nonlinear piezo-aeroelastic analysis, the limit cycle oscillation (LCO) characteristics of the proposed energy harvester with the nonlinear TEF are investigated in both the frequency and time domains. Finally, the authors discuss the air speed range for effective piezo-aeroelastic energy harvesting.

  • This paper presents a design method of Kalman Filter on continuous nonlinear stochastic system via BPF(Block Pulse Function). When we design Kalman Filter on nonlinear stochastic system, we must linearize this systems. In this paper, we uses the adaptive approach scheme and BPF for linearizing of nonlinear system and solving the Riccati differential equation which is usually guite difficult. This method proposed in this paper is simple and have computational advantages. Furthermore this method is very applicable to analysis and design of Kalman Filter on nonlinear stochastic systems.

  • An LMI-based method for robust $L_2-L_{\infty}$ filter design is proposed for poly topic uncertain time-delay systems. By using the Projection Lemma and a suitable linearizing transformation, a strict LMI condition for $L_2-L_{\infty}$ filter design is obtained, which does not involve any iterations for design-parameter search, any couplings between the Lyapunov and system matrices, nor any system-dependent filter parameterization. Therefore, the proposed condition enables one to easily adopt, with help of efficient numerical solvers, a parameter-dependent Lyapunov function approach for reducing conservatism, and to design both robust and parameter-dependent filters for uncertain and parameter-dependent time-delay systems, respectively.

  • This paper makes a close inquiry into ill-conditioning that may be occurred in wireless localization of the sensor nodes based on network signals in the wireless sensor network and provides the clue for solving the problem. In order to estimate the location of a node based on the range information calculated using the signal propagation time, LS (Least Squares) method is usually used. The LS method estimates the solution that makes the squared estimation error minimal. When a nonlinear function is used for the wireless localization, ILS (Iterative Least Squares) method is used. The ILS method process the LS method iteratively after linearizing the nonlinear function at the initial nominal point. This method, however, has a problem that the final solution may converge into a LM (Local Minimum) instead of a GM (Global Minimum) according to the deployment of the fixed nodes and the initial nominal point. The conditions that cause the problem are explained and an adaptive method is presented to solve it, in this paper. It can be expected that the stable location solution can be provided in implementation of the wireless localization methods based on the results of this paper.

  • 본 논문에서는 SCH 양자우물 구조를 가진 레이저 다이오드에서의 캐리어 수송기구와 변조응답 특성에 대해 고찰하였다. 캐리어 수송구조 고찰을 위해 캐리어 밀도분포및 다이오드전류를 계산하였다. 또한 우물내에서의 캐리어 재결합율을 SCH길이의 함수로 도출하였다. 변조응답 특성에서는 캐리어와 광자에 대한 3쌍의 비율 방정식을 도출, 해석하여 SCH 길이에 따른 변조 대역폭과 완화 진동 주파수, 감쇄 비율과 K-factor의 특성에 대하여 고찰하였다.

  • An investigation on thermohydraulic stability of flow oscillations in the CANada Deuterium Uranium-600(CANDU-6) heat transport system has been conducted. Flow oscillations in reactor coolant loops, comprising two heat sources and two heat sinks in series, are possibly caused by the response of the pressure to extraction of fluid in two-phase region. This response consists of two contributions, one arising from mass and another from enthalpy change in the two-phase region. The system computer code used in the investigation os SOPHT, which is capable of simulating steady states as well as transients with varying boundary conditions. The model was derived by linearizing and solving one-dimensional, homogeneous single- and two-phase flow conservation equations. The mass, energy and momentum equations with boundary conditions are set up throughout the system in matrix form based on a node-link structure. Loop stability was studied under full power conditions with interconnecting the two compressible two phase regions in the figure-of-eight circuit. The dominant function of the interconnecting pipe is the transfer of mass between the two-phase regions. Parametric survey of loop stability characteristics, i. e., damping ratio and period, has been made as a function of geometrical parameters of the interconnection line such as diameter, length, height and orifice flow coefficient. The stability characteristics with interconnection line has been clarified to provide a simple criterion to be used as a guide in scaling of the pipe.

전달함수를 이용한 LCVA의 설계변수 분석 (Design Parameter Identification Using Transfer Function of Liquid Column Vibration Absorber (LCVA))

  • 본 연구의 목적은 첫째, 비선형성을 포함하는 액체기둥진동흡진기(LCVA)의 감쇠항에 대한 등가선형화된 운동방정식을 바탕으로하여 가진입력인 진동대 가속도와 출력인 제어력의 관계인 전달함수를 해석적인 식으로 규명하는 것이다. 둘째, LCVA의 주요설계변수인 수직기둥과 수평기둥의 단면적비의 변화에 따른 진동특성분석이다. 셋째, 동조의 수단으로 이용되는 수직기둥 액체의 높이를 변화시켜 진동특성을 분석하는 것이다. LCVA를 진동대 위에 설치하고 가진하여 제어력을 측정하여 실험 전달함수를 구하였다. 이것을 해석적인 전달함수와 비교 및 최적화작업을 수행하여 LCVA의 진동특성변수에 영향을 미치는 고유진동수, 감쇠비 및 질량비 등을 파악하였다. 실험결과, 액체 수위 및 단면적비의 변화에 따라 감쇠비 및 참여질량비의 특성이 변화하였다. 수직기둥과 수평기둥이 교차하는 엘보우에서 액체의 흐름 변화로 인하여, LCVA 실험체의 수직기둥 단면적이 작아질수록 감쇠비와 참여질량비가 증가하였다.
