  • We observed new physical phenomia. The dispersion relation and the distributions of RF electric field in the corrugated wall waveguide are analyzed numerically. The measurement of the dispersion relation are obsered by a plunger method employed in the slow wave structure for linear accelerators.

10MHz/77dB 다이내믹 영역을 가진 선형 가변 이득 증폭기 (10MHz/77dB dynamic range CMOS linear-in-dB variable gain amplifiers)

  • 본 논문은 구조물 모니터링을 위한 광섬유 센서 시스템의 수신단 응용을 위한 CMOS 기반의 가변 이득 증폭기 집적회로 설계에 초점을 두고 있다. 차동증폭기와 선형 linear-in-dB 제어기를 사용한 3단 가변 이득 증폭기를 제시하였다. 제안된 가변이득 증폭기는 전류의 비에 의해 증폭기의 이득이 linear-in-dB 하게 조절되는 일반적인 가변 이득 증폭기의 변형된 형태이다. 본 논문에서 제안된 가변 이득 증폭기는 1.5 dB의 간격으로 77 dB의 다이내믹 영역을 가졌다. 이득오차는 77 dB 다이내믹 영역에서 1.5 dB 이하를 얻었다. 동작범위는 10 MHz를 얻었으며, 단일 1.8 V 전압에서 13.8 mW의 전력소모 특성을 보였다. 이 가변 이득 증폭기는 Magnachip 사의 $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS 공정을 사용하여 구현되었으며, 유효면적은 $430{\mu}m{\times}350{\mu}m$ 이었다. 제안된 가변 이득 증폭기는 구조물 모니터링을 위한 광섬유 센서 시스템의 수신단에 적용이 가능하였다 측정 결과에 따라 제안된 방법은 다이내믹 영역의 증대와 좋은 linear-in-dB 특성 관점에서 유효하였다.

  • Electric Power system is a large scale nonlinear control one. Therefore, nonlinear control is desirable for the stabilizing, and it is thought that to establish an analytical method for optimal control inputs of AVR(automatic voltage regulator) and GOV(governor) is an important subject. In this paper, as a simple case, one-machine infinite-bus electric power model system with GOV is treated under the three kinds of control inputs; (i) fuzzy control input, (ii) linear control input and (iii) no control input. Next, the stability for each case is analyzed, and the three-dimensional stability regions and control responses are evaluated and compared. Finally, it is concluded that the linear control input does not necessarily give a good region and response, and the fuzzy one is better than others.

  • In this paper, when concurrent transmission and diversity reception at each relay are assumed to increase bandwidth efficiency in linear multihop system, we analyze interference due to concurrent transmission and verify it. In the interference-free environment, more diversity sources at each relay result in better performance [1][2]. However, interference degrades BER performance because accumulated and propagated interference power surpasses original data power. Therefore, if we use the result of this paper, we can make bandwidth efficiency increase as well as BER performance good in linear multihop system by considering concurrent transmission with reuse factor and developing the algorithm which determines the number of diversity source.

선형 재생 부호 앙상블의 평균 복구 접속 비용 (Average Repair Read Cost of Linear Repairable Code Ensembles)

  • 본 논문에서는 임의의 선형 재생 부호 앙상블에 대하여 복구 대역폭(Repair bandwidth)과 접속 비용(Repair read cost)의 평균을 유도한다. 한 데이터가 여러 노드에 부호화 되어 분산 저장된 상황에서 하나의 노드가 소실될 경우, 이를 복구하기 위해 필요한 데이터 량을 복구 대역폭, 접속해야 하는 노드 수를 복구 접속 비용이라 한다. 이 때, 선형 재생 부호 앙상블은 데이터 심볼의 수 k와 패리티 심볼의 수 m, 그리고 그들의 차수 분포로 주어진다. 우리는 이러한 부호들이 시스터메틱(Systematic)이며 정확한 복구(Exact repair)를 수행하고 n=k+m개의 모든 저장소(Storages)들이 전부 연결되어 있는 상황을 가정한다. 본 논문의 결과는 파운틴 부호 등과 같이 위와 같은 파라미터들로 랜덤하게 만들어진 부호들에 바로 적용 가능하다. 최종 결과식은 평균 복구 접속 비용이 차수 분포와 n, k에 따라 결정됨을 보여준다.

Stable Tracking Control to a Non-linear Process Via Neural Network Model

  • A stable neural network control scheme for unknown non-linear systems is developed in this paper. While the control variable is optimised to minimize the performance index, convergence of the index is guaranteed asymptotically stable by a Lyapnov control law. The optimization is achieved using a gradient descent searching algorithm and is consequently slow. A fast convergence algorithm using an adaptive learning rate is employed to speed up the convergence. Application of the stable control to a single input single output (SISO) non-linear system is simulated. The satisfactory control performance is obtained.

  • A practical recursive linear robust estimation scheme is proposed for target localization in the sensor network which provides range difference of arrival (RDOA) measurements. In order to radically solve the known practical difficulties such as sensitivity for initial guess and heavy computational burden caused by intrinsic nonlinearity of the RDOA based target localization problem, an uncertain linear measurement model is newly derived. In the suggested problem setting, the target localization performance of the conventional linear estimation schemes might be severely degraded under the low SNR condition and be affected by the target position in the sensor network. This motivates us to devise a new sensor network localization algorithm within the framework of the recently developed robust least squares estimation theory. Provided that the statistical information regarding RDOA measurements are available, the estimate of the proposition method shows the convergence in probability to the true target position. Through the computer simulations, the omnidirectional target localization performance and consistency of the proposed algorithm are compared to those of the existing ones. It is shown that the proposed method is more reliable than the total least squares method and the linear correction least squares method.

  • This paper addresses a feedback linearization control problem for the nonlinear dynamics of an underwater glider system. We consider the buoyancy and moment as control inputs, which come from the mass variation and elevator control, respectively. Moment-to-force coupling increases the nonlinearities, which make the controller design difficult. By using a feedback linearization technique, we convert the nonlinear underwater glider to an equivalent linear model and design a linear controller. The controller for the equivalent converted linear system is designed using sufficient conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Then, the control input of the nonlinear model of an underwater glider is formulated from the linear control input. An experimental examination is implemented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed technique.

비선형 셀룰라오토마타의 도달가능표 (Reachable table of nonlinear cellular automata)

  • 비선형 셀룰라오토마타는 선형 셀룰라오토마타에 비해서 수학적 분석이 어렵다. 그렇기 때문에 비선형 셀룰라오토마타는 비그룹 셀룰라오토마타에 대하여 도달가능상태와 끌개를 식별하기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 보완하기 위해 도달가능표를 제안한다. 제안한 도달가능표에 의하여 비선형 셀룰라오토마타의 모든 상태에 대한 다음 상태를 알 수 있다. 또한 도달가능표에 의하여 도달가능상태와 끌개를 식별할 수 있다.

Analysis of Low-Profile Piezoelectric Butterfly Linear Motor using 3D Laser Vibrometer

  • Piezoelectric linear motors have been widely studied for auto focusing devices of digital cameras and cellular phones due to their simple structure. In this paper, we confirmed that novel piezoelectric butterfly linear motor was fabricated and its dynamic properties were analyzed. The piezoelectric transducer (having size $9{\times}8{\times}1\;mm^3$) is composed of an elastic plate, which includes a tip for energy transfer and two fixing protrusions for fixture, and two piezoelectric ceramics. The butterfly linear motor has been designed and optimized using A TILA simulation program. The superposed motion is an elliptical vibration on the tip. The actual movement of the manufactured actuator was confirmed by a 3D laser dopier vibrometer and compared with the simulation results. The results of numerical study and experimental investigation will be used for the future optimization of the actuator and the realization of the advanced ultrasonic motor.
