  • A cylindrical type Linear Pulse Motor (LPM) was designed as a linear motion actuator. In this paper, it is mentioned the mechanical design method of the LPM. It was designed as a prototype to estimate a new linearization control method for the nonlinear thrust force which is caused by the variable reluctance of the LPM. The designed LPM is determined a variable reluctance type to except the term of permanent magnetic force. The concreted figures and the dimensions will be described.

  • The subject of this study is to improve the position performance of the linear motion for hybrid type Linear Pulse Motor (HLPM). Generally, there are two applicable methods to ensure precise position control ; a good processing method. This paper is suggested an electrical 125 microstep driving method so as to achieves the excellent control performance, besides the small mechanical manufacture of teeth pitch. The compensation method of digital PI control is apply to step response of stable position control, step error, vibration suppression and the approach to high stability, and the Ziegler-Nichols tuning method is applied to the proper design of control parameter. The proposed control method has been verified by simulation results of the suitable gain and phase margin of bode plot, and from experiment result of step response.

77K Inertance tube 맥동관 극저온 냉동기에 관한 연구 (An Experimental Study for the 77K Inertance Tube Pulse Tube Cryocooler)

  • The experimental results of the 17K inertance tube pulse tube cryocooler for cooling cryosensors are presented in this paper. In prototype experiments, linear compressor is driven by linear motor, and inertance tubes are inserted between one liter reservoir and pulse tube. Design of the inertance tube pulse tube cryo-cooler is conducted by ARCOPTR program of NASA Ames Research Center. To find optimal conditions of inertance tube pulse tube cryocooler, no load temperature and refrigeration capacity according to the variations of inertance tube volume, reservoir volume and charging pressure are measured. and the cool down and load characteristics at the particular conditions are presented. As the representative results, no load temperature of the cold end is 52.7K and refrigeration capacity is 5W at 72K..

  • Ultra precision positioning mechanism has widely been used on semiconductor manufacturing equipments, optical spectrum analyzer and cell manipulations. Ultra precision positioning mechanism is consisted of several actuators, sensors, guides and control systems. Its efficiency depends on each performance of components. The object of this study is to design, analysis and manufacture all of the inchworm linear motor system, which is one of the equipments embodied in ultra precision positioning mechanism. Inchworm linear motor system is consisted of a controller system and an inchworm linear motor, and its driving form is similar to a motion of spanworm. A design and manufacture of inchworm linear motor, which is consisted of three PZT actuators, a rod, two columns and a guide plate, are performed. Minimizing the von-Mises stress of the hinge using Taguchi method and simulation by FEM software optimizes the structural design in a column of flexure hinge. The designed columns and guide plates are manufactured by a W-EDM and NC-milling. A controller system, which is an apparatus to drive inchworm linear motor, can easily adjust driving conditions by varying resonance frequency and input-output voltage of actuators and amplifiers. The performance of manufactured inchworm linear motor system is verified and valuated. In the future, inchworm linear motor system will be used to make a more precision positioning by reinforcing a sensor and feedback system.

  • In recent years, as the electonic industry has become more advanced, the LPM(Linear Pulse Motor) has appeared in a wide range of applications because of easier control, operation by open-loop control, high positioning accuracy, and retrieval of position or velocity data by the input pulses. In this study, we deal with the development of a position detection device attached to a hybrid LPM in our laboratory. Precise position detection signals could be sensed by the synchronous rectifier method from the LPM stator scale. In addition, we can keep the amplitude constant by using an AGC(Automatic Gain Control) circuit. Experimental results show that the position data is good enough to perform the LPM position control.

  • The 2nd prototype LPM is designed as single side stator structure for improving the thrust force and acceleration time. Experimental results are shown that the static and dynamic characteristics are improved compared with the 1 st prototype. By the computer simulation, the permanent magnet design method is also clarified to desired thrust force. And microstep driver is adopted to the position controller to the designed LPM. The driver suppressed position errors within 1/10 pitch.

  • Prototype DSLPM (Double Side Linear Pulse Motor) has a complicated magnetic circuit to be composed of permanent magnetics and winding. During the fabricating of DSLPM, we found that upper airgap length may be a little different from lower airgap length because of fabrication tolerance and error. So, a little difference of both airgap length have a various effect on the characteristics of DSLPM. Therefore, in this paper, we analyzed the normal force and maximum static thrust force according to the difference of both airgap length on DSLPM with finite element method. Obtained results can be used for design of DSLPM with higher performance.

  • This paper deals with the difference of the static and kinetic thrust characteristics of a linear pulse motor(LPM) without and with feedback control for a total artificial heart(TAH). In general, the kinetic thrust of LPM without feedback control decreases as increasing the mover velocity. The kinetic thrust characteristics of the LPM with feedback control are improved approximately 30% as compared with the LPM without feedback control in the high velocity range.

  • 리니어 모터 중에서 위치 정밀도가 우수하고 개루프 제어가 가능한 리니어 펄스모터(LPM : Linear Pulse Motor)에 대해 추력 성능 및 위치제어 정밀도 향상을 위해서 자기등가회로 모델링법에 의해 추력을 주로 계산하고 있다. 퍼미언스(Permeance) 모델법, 수치해석법(FEM), 속도 기전력법 등을 이용하여 자속밀도(B)를 구하는데 있어 해석적인 추력편차가 존재한다. 정확한 추력을 구하기 위해서는 이들 각각의 방법을 이용한 로렌츠 포스법(Lorentz Force Method), 자기수반 에너지법, Maxwell 응력법 등으로 추력을 계산하여 비교함으로써 모터용량, 파라미터 등의 각종 성능 비교시 중요 요소가 될 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 위의 방법으로 LPM의 추력을 수식화하여 값을 얻고, 실제 추력값을 측정하여 얻어진 값과 비교 분석하고자한다. 이러므로 보다 정확한 LPM 추력 계산 방법을 얻을 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
