Bombesin has a high binding affinity to gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR) and can be used as a targeting ligand in GRPR-related cancers. Because GRPR is overexpressed in prostate cancer, bombesin analogues have been investigated extensively for diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. In nuclear medicine, bombesin derivatives labeled with radiometals such as ^55/57Co, ⁶⁴Cu, ⁶⁸Ga, ^99mTc, and ¹⁷⁷Lu or radiohalogen such as ¹³¹I and ²¹¹At were developed as markers for early detection of tumors and theragnostic tool for cancer treatment. This review focuses on the introduction of bombesin-based radiopharmaceuticals that are studied in pre-clinical or clinical research.

The purpose of this study was to validate a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for the quantitative analysis of quercetin in various foods. The method was based on HPLC-UV (360 nm). The method was validated using candy, beverage, and sausage which were tested for specificity, linearity, limit of detection (LOD), limit of quantification (LOQ), precision, and accuracy, and the measurement uncertainty was assessed. Matrix-matched calibration was also applied. The calibration curves (0.5-50 mg/L) showed good linearity (r²≥0.9998). LOD and LOQ ranged from 0.15 to 0.31 mg/kg and from 0.44 to 0.93 mg/kg, respectively. The average accuracy and precision at 0.5, 2.5, and 10 mg/kg ranged from 84.3 to 102.0% and 0.7 to 3.0 relative standard deviation (RSD%), respectively. This study confirmed the applicability of the proposed method by applying it to commercial products, such as teas and beverages. Thus, the proposed analytical method is suitable for quantifying quercetin in various foods.

As global interest in herbal medicines has increased, the adulteration of herbal medicines has become a critical safety issue. Adulteration with dyes to improve the appearance of low-quality products is of particular concern. This study aimed to develop a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method to detect dyes added as adulterants to Phellodendron. Samples were analyzed on a C18 column using 50 mM ammonium acetate and acetonitrile as the mobile phase. All calibration curves showed good linearity (r² ≥0.9999) over the five-point concentration range (1-50 mg/kg). Limit of detection ranged from 0.04-0.35 mg/kg, and limit of quantification ranged from 0.11-1.07 mg/kg. The repeatability and reproducibility for these measurements were 94.2-103.3% and 96.6-103.8% for accuracy and 0.14-2.28 RSD (%) and 0.80-2.37 RSD (%) for precision. Moreover, the measurement uncertainty of the low, medium, and high concentrations for 10 dyes was considered. Thus, this HPLC method is suitable for detecting color adulteration of Phellodendron.

This paper examines a number of Korean artists-Whanki Kim, Po Kim, Byungki Kim, Lim Choong-Sup, Min Byung-Ok and etc-working in New York in the 1960s and 1970s, focusing on their motivations to head for the U.S. and their life and activity in the newly-emerged city of international art. The thesis was conceived based upon the fact that New York has been one of the major venues for Korean artists in which to live, study, travel and stay after the Korean War. Moreover, the United States, since 1945, has had a tremendous influence upon Korea politically, socially, economically, and, above all, culturally. This study is divided into three major sections. The first one attends to the reasons that these artists moved out of Korea while including in this discussion, the long-standing yearning of the Korean intelligentsia to experience more modernized cultures, and American postwar cultural policies that stimulated them to envision life beyond their national parameters, in a country heavily entrenched in Cold War ideology. The second part examines these artists' pursuit of abstraction in New York where it was already losing its avant-garde status as opposed to the style's cutting edge cache in Korea. While their turn to abstraction was outdated from New York's critical perspective, it was seen to be de rigueur for Koreans that had developed through phases from Art Informel in the 1960s to Dansaekhwa (monochromatic paintings) in the 1970s. The third part focuses on the artists' struggle while caught between a dualistic framework such as Korea/U.S, East/West, center/margin, traditional/modern, and abstraction/figuration. Despite such dichotomic frames, they identified abstract art as the epitome of pure, absolute art, which revealed their beliefs inherited from western modernism during the colonial period before 1910-1945. In fact, their reality as immigrants in America put them in a diasporic space where they oscillated between the fixed, essentialist Korean identity and the floating, transforming identity as international artists in New York or Korean-American artists. Thus their abstract and semi-abstract art reflect the in-between identity from the diasporic space while demonstrating their yearning for a land of political freedom, intellectual fulfillment and the continuity of modern art's legacy imposed upon them over the course of Korea's tumultuous history in the twentieth century and making the artists as precursor of transnational, transcultural art of the global age in the twenty-first century.

선천성 갑상선 항진증은 드문 질환으로 모체로부터 TSH에 대한 자가항체가 태반을 통해 태아에게 전달되어 생기며 일시적인 경우가 많다. 선천성 갑상선 항진증이 지속되지만 자가면역질환의 검사 소견을 보이지 않을 때에는 TSHR의 돌연변이에 의한 갑상선 항진증을 고려해야 한다. 저자들은 TSHR의 돌연변이에 의한 갑상선 항진증 증례를 2례 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

압축착화엔진용 경유연료 세탄가는 연료의 착화성을 나타내는 연료의 주요 특성중의 하나이다. 기존 CFR 엔진을 이용한 세탄가 분석의 번거로움을 피하기 위해 세탄가를 세탄지수로 대체하여 사용하고 있으나, 현재 다양한 첨가제에 의한 세탄가와 세탄지수 값의 차이를 보이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 첨가제로서 바이오디젤, 등유유분, 세탄가향상제를 베이스경유에 일정 비율로 혼합한 뒤, 세탄가, 유도세탄가 및 세탄지수를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첨가제에 의한 세탄가와 유도세탄가는 유사한 결과값을 보였지만 세탄지수는 바이오디젤과 세탄가향상제 첨가시 현저한 분석값 차이를 보였다.
