In this paper, through an evaluation process conducted on several designs of mini-LIPCA (Lightweight Piezo-Composite curved Actuator), an optimal design of a mini-LIPCA has been proposed. Comparing with the LIPCA-C2, the design of the mini-LIPCA comes with reduced overall size and a thinner active layer. Since a variation in the number and lay-up of fiber composite layers may strongly affect the performance of the device, one is able to configure several designs of mini-LIPCA. The evaluation process is then followed in order to determine a configuration which characterizes the possibly optimal performance. That is, a design of a mini-LIPCA is said to be optimal if it is capable of producing a maximum out-of-plane displacement. The size of the LIPCA to be investigated was selected to be $10\;mm\;{\times}\;20\;mm$ in which the thickness of PZT plate is about 0.1 mm. The thickness of glass/epoxy and carbon/epoxy are about 0.09 mm and 0.1 mm, respectively. The evaluation process has been conducted thoroughly, i.e., analytical estimation, numerical approximation and the experimental measurement are all involved. Firstly, the design equation was used to calculate essential parameters of proposed lay-up configurations. Secondly, ANSYS, a commercial FEA package, was utilized to estimate displacement outputs of the actuators upon being excited. Finally, experimental measurements were able to verify the predicted results.
Drill process is usually used to manufacture a industry about processing, Therefore, the burr problem is very significant, The burrs took place when drill process. And then, sometimes, the burrs are often caused of some problems during automatic such as no good quality products and having good surface roughness products. And also, this paper had some experiments using magnesium. Specially, the magnesium is one of the non-ferromagnetic materials. Magnesium has attracted a lot of interest for using the industry. They offer a possible alternative to steel and aluminum in automotive and aero industries to satisfy the lightweight requirement. also, magnesium has good specific strength and absorbs vibration in occurring working process. So, it has good quality of product processing. And then, it is one of the lightest materials being used to electronic product's cases and automotive because of lightweight and miniaturization. But this material has not widely used all of the industry due to its natural property. If the magnesium is contacted water, it will cause the exploration. But, nowadays many of people study magnesium to safe their experiment and to widely use this industry.
In the present study, the characteristics of Mg inverter cases for hybrid cars are investigated. Concerns over the use of lightweight materials to reduce energy use and to mitigate emission problems are inevitable in the twenty-first century. Magnesium is a promising material for the manufacturing of lightweight parts. Several cases for thermal cooling channels have been designed and simulated, and the effects of materials and coatings on the thermal cooling efficiency have been discussed. The effects of the coating thickness on heat extraction in an Mg inverter housing case using the PEO (plasma electrolyte oxidation) coating method were also discussed. In order to produce an inverter case by the diecasting process, the filling sequence and cooling behavior during the diecasting process were simulated. The optimized process conditions from the simulation result were then used in a trial diecasting experiment.

Recently, the use of means of transportation of the lightweight aluminum to temper the trend is increasing. More efficient use of lightweight aluminum material to Friction stir welding has been widely attempted. Types of welding tools at the right screw to rotate anti-clockwise direction, when the tensile stress exerted on the location of the top plate to the left in the direction of the welding process to the installation was able to obtain high tensile strength. A5052 to the top of the left in the direction of the welding process to install and, when you installed the right under the A6061 was not easily come up to the top of the A5052. Conversely, at the bottom left to install on top of the A6061 and A5052 have been installed at the bottom of the upper area of the A6061 and A5052 intrude easily form the shape of the hill you can see that it was formed.

The necessities for heightening fuel efficiency as well as lightweight design, lead to an increase of the use of aluminum alloys in the automobile industry. Extruded aluminum profile channels are used widely for the design of frame parts as lightweight assemblies, especially if a high stiffness is needed. While many applications can be realized with forming of hollow square-sectioned extruded profiles such as a stretch bending and a hydro-forming, some applications demand the use of a press bending which can be hardly found in the previous study. In this study, by introducing the use of a press bending into car sub-frames, the demands for higher accuracy as well as higher flexible method than the conventional methods will be satisfied. With respect to the design of sub-frames, the process planning was performed from the shape of a sub-frame product. The designed processes were analyzed by the commercial FEM code, DEFORM-3D. Forming dies for the each process were designed and prototypes of sub-frames were manufactured by the verified farming process. In addition, some of the important features of design parameters in the press bending were reviewed.

Due to aging of the rural and mountain populations the labor force is reduced. However work intensity continues to increase, thus, there is a need to improve the current effectiveness of forest operations. This study compared and analyzed the Operation productivity and efficiency of planting containerized seedlings using a battery-powered planting auger and a mattock. Growth was also investigated by looking into the initial growth increments in the planted seedlings. Tasks were investigated by analyzing the process and operation time needed to plant 1 containerized seedling using a planting auger and a mattock. The time spent on the various elements of the planting process was measured with a stopwatch but observations were done continuously. Result of the study shows that with the use of a lightweight planting auger the average time spent to plant a containerized seedling is 18.61 seconds while with the use of a mattock it took an average of 26.96 seconds which clearly demonstrates that the planting auger is more efficient in terms of working hours. Working intensity was also analyzed with the use of a portable heart rate monitor (Polar V800). The average increase in heart rate and work intensity index were analyzed for one planting cycle. It was observed that when using the lightweight planting auger, there was a 46.51% increase in the average heart rate while a 74.67% increase in heart rate when the mattock was used which shows that there is a significant increase in heart rate when mattock is used. In addition, work intensity index was observed to be 29.95% and 47.83% when the planting auger and mattock were used respectively. With the continuous use, work intensity index is significantly higher with the use of the mattock as compared to that of the lightweight planting auger. There were no significant differences on the growth increment of seedlings planted using the different tools until a year after planting, however differences in growth increment were observed after a year. A difference of 15.1 cm in height and 3.41 mm in diameter was observed which shows that the use of lightweight planting auger is excellent for planting containerized seedlings.

In the manufacturing industries, CAE analysis results are frequently required during the product development process for design verification. CAE data which include all related information of an analysis is, however, not efficiently shared among engineers because CAE data size is in general very large to deal with. At first, we represent a proposed lightweight format which is capable to include all the types of CAE analysis results and to support hierarchical data structure. Since each CAE system has different data structures of its own, a translator which translates to the proposed format is also represented. Unlike the design environment with CAD system, many CAE systems are used in a manufacturing company because many sorts of analysis are performed usually for a product design. Thus, lots of CAE results are generated and occupy huge size within storage, and they make it harder to manage or share many CAE results efficiently. A multi-CAE management system which is able to share many types of CAE data simultaneously using lightweight format is proposed in this paper. Finally, an implementation of the system for this will be introduced.

A peristaltic micropump with lightweight piezo-composite actuator (LIPCA) membrane valves is presented. The micropump contained three cylinder chambers that were connected by microchannels and two active membrane valves. A circular miniature LIPCA was developed and manufactured to be used as actuating diaphragms. The LIPCA diaphragm acted as an active membrane valve that alternate between open and closed positions at the inlet and outlet in order to produce high pumping pressure. In this LIPCA, a lead zirconium titanate ceramic with a thickness of 0.1 mm was used as an active layer. The results confirmed that the actuator produced a large out-of-plane deflection. During the design process, a coupled field analysis was conducted in order to predict the actuating behavior of the LIPCA diaphragm; the behavior of the actuator was investigated from both a theoretical and experimental perspective. The active membrane valve concept was introduced as a means for increasing pumping pressure, and microelectromechanical system techniques were used to fabricate the peristaltic micropump. The pumping performance was analyzed experimentally in terms of the flow rate, pumping pressure and power consumption.
The present investigation is to identify an optimum mix combination amongst 28 different types of artificial lightweight aggregates by pelletization method with aggregate properties. Artificial aggregates with different combinations were manufactured from fly ash, cement, hydrated lime, ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS), silica fume, metakaolin, sodium bentonite and calcium bentonite, at a standard 17 minutes pelletization time, with 28% of water content on a weight basis. Further, the artificial aggregates were air-dried for 24 hours, followed by hardening through the cold-bonding (water curing) process for 28 days and then testing with different physical and mechanical properties. The results found the lowest impact strength value of 16.5% with a cement-hydrated lime (FCH) mix combination. Moreover, the lowest water absorption of 16.5% and highest individual pellet crushing strength of 36.7 MPa for 12 mm aggregate with a hydrated lime-GGBFS (FHG) mix combination. The results, attained from different binder materials, could be helpful for manufacturing high strength artificial aggregates.
