The exterior system of buildings, which is the typical curtain wall, has been made with glass and metal. Theses materials, however, have weaknesses such as inadequate insulating quality, short durability, combustibility and toxic substance. On the other hand, Autoclaved Aerated Concrete(AAC) or Autoclaved Lightweight Concrete(ALC) possess the great energy efficiency and the superb insulating quality as substitute of existing exterior system materials. In this research, strength characteristics and bubble dispersion of hydrothermal synthesis process of AAC based on CaO/$SiO_2$(C/S) ratio are analyzed. C/S ratio is determinated and bubble distribution and compressive strength are studied through the test of varied water-to-solid mineral ratio(W/S). In hydrothermal synthesis program, final C/S ratio is determined as 0.7 consider of the manufacturing process and hydrothermal synthesis is done at $180^{\circ}C$ for 7 hours. The analysis shows slurry has about 2,300cP viscosity and 0.56 specific gravity therefore it is expected AAC has the appropriate facility in the manufacturing process and Hydrates of AAC's Expansion.

In many machines handling lightweight and flexible media, such as magnetic tape drives, xerographic copiers and sewing machines, the media must transit an open space. It is important to predict the static and dynamic behavior of the sheets with a high degree of reliability. The nonlinear theory of the dynamic elastica has often been used to a nonlinear dynamic deflection model. In this paper, the governing equation is derived and simulated by the finite difference method. The parametric cubic curve is applied for defining the guide shape. The dynamic contact conditions suggested by Klarbring is used to predict the direction of the flexible media according to the initial velocity and the friction coefficient. The analysis is also compared to the conventional model, showing that after contacting a $45^{\circ}$ wall, the directions of flexible media of two models are different.

A Fresnel lens is an optical component which can be used as a cost-effective, lightweight alternative to conventional continuous surface optics. Fresnel lens solar concentrators continue to fulfill a market requirement as a system component in high volume cost effective Concentrating Photovoltaic (CPV) electricity generation. The basic principles of the fresnel lens are reviewed and some practical examples are described. To investigate the performance space of the Fresnel lens, a fast simulation method which is a hybrid between raytracing and analytical computation is employed to generate a cache of simulation data. Injection molders are warming up to the idea of cycling their tool surface temperature during the molding cycle rather than keeping it constant. Heat and cool process are now also finding that raising the mold wall temperature above the resin's glass-transition or crystalline melting temperature during the filling stage and product performance in applications from automotive to packaging to optics. This paper deals with the suitability of Fresnel lenses of imaging and non-imaging designs for solar energy concentration. The concentration fresnel lens confirmed machinability and optical transmittance and roughness measure through manufactured the prototype.
This work presents a practical detailed finite element (FE) approach for the three-dimensional (3D) free-vibration analysis of actual aircraft and spacecraft-type lightweight and thin honeycomb sandwich panels. It consists of calling successively in $MATLAB^{(R)}$, via a developed user-friendly GUI, a detailed 3D meshing tool, a macrocommands language translator and a commercial FE solver($ABAQUS^{(R)}$ or $ANSYS^{(R)}$). In contrary to the common practice of meshing finely the faces and core cells, the proposed meshing tool represents each wall of the actual hexagonal core cells as a single two-dimensional (2D) 4 nodes quadrangularshell element or two 3 nodes triangular ones, while the faces meshes are obtained simply using the nodes at the core-faces interfaces. Moreover, as the same 2D FE interpolation type is used for meshing the core and faces, this leads to an automatic handling of their required FE compatibility relations. This proposed approach is applied to a sample made of very thin glass fiber reinforced polymer woven composite faces and a thin aluminum alloy hexagonal honeycomb core. The unknown or incomplete geometric and materials properties are first collected through direct measurements, reverse engineering techniques and experimental-FE modal analysis-based inverse identification. Then, the free-vibrations of the actual honeycomb sandwich panel are analyzed experimentally under different boundary conditions and numerically using different mesh basic cell shapes. It is found that this approach is accurate for the first few modes used for pre-design purpose.
The paper reports the characteristics of conduction heat transfer to the backside part according to the heating temperature of a composite wall in a lightweight partition used for indoor space compartments. Stud partitions, SGP partitions, sandwich panels, urethane foam panels, and glass wool panels. which are generally used as light-weight partition walls, were selected as experiment samples, and the characteristics of conduction heat transfer to the backside part as the top surface were analyzed by applying heating temperatures of $200^{\circ}C$, $300^{\circ}C$, $400^{\circ}C$, and $500^{\circ}C$ to the bottom surface for 1800 s. According to the experimental results, the maximum backside temperatures at the maximum heating temperature of $500^{\circ}C$ was $51.6^{\circ}C$, $63.6^{\circ}C$, $317.2^{\circ}C$, $124.9^{\circ}C$, and $42.2^{\circ}C$ for the stud partition, SGP partition, sandwich panel, urethane foam panel, and glass wool panel, respectively. The maximum conduction heat- transfer rates at $500^{\circ}C$ were 17.16 W, 18.39 W, 136.65 W, 14.34 W, and 5.57 W for the stud partition, SGP partition, sandwich panel, urethane foam, and glass wool panel, respectively.

Recently, for longevity of resident building, the main trend is that the change of the inside space organization of resident building from wall construction to rhamen construction, which resulted in increase in use of lightweight composite panel. Thus, in this study, authors analyzed the engineering property of oxide of magnesium depending on the magnesium chloride addition ratio. The results of this research is expected to contribute on providing a fundamental material for the surface materials of lightweight composite panel. As the result of the experiment, as fluidity increased, air content decreased and initial set and final set as the magnesium chloride addition ratio increase. In the aspect of flexural strength and compressive strength, the test specimen showed the highest strength at 40% of the magnesium chloride addition ratio. At 20% of the magnesium chloride addition ratio, the test specimen showed the lowest water absorption rate. As the magnesium chloride addition ratio increases, the expansibility tends to increase as well in the aspect of shrinkage strain. After observing microstructure, we can see hydration products in the form of needle. It appeared high flexural strength because the hydration products have mineral fibrous tissue shape, which also contribute to the cause of the expansibility.

This paper presents the study of a fire risk to the backside of two miniatures of ISO 9705 2/5 using a lightweight partition for indoor space division and reproduction of the ISO 9705 test. An SGP partition, stud partition, glass wool panel, urethane foam panel, sandwich panel, and glass partition were selected as the test specimens, which are frequently used in construction. According to the ISO 9705 test standard, stabilization was achieved using a measuring device that recorded data before the ignition of a burner and continued recording for 120 s thereafter. After ignition was achieved, the power was increased to 300 kW for 600 s and then reduced to 100 kW for 600 s. The specimens were subsequently observed for 180 s, and the fire risk to the backside and the fire pattern of the wall unit were analyzed. Owing to the amount of heat generated by the ignition source, the maximum temperature of the backside was observed to be 67.7 ℃ for the SGP partition, 55.1 ℃ for the stud partition, 52.4 ℃ for the glass wool panel, 727.4 ℃ for the sandwich panel, 561 ℃ for the urethane foam panel, and 630.5 ℃ for the glass partition. In the cases of the sandwich and urethane foam panels, the explosion of flammable gas occurred by virtue of fusion of the interior materials. The reinforced glass was fractured owing to the temperature difference between the heat- and nonheat-responsive parts. Ultimately, the fire risk to the nearby section room was deemed to be high.

In this study, an innovative steel stair system is presented which enables rapid erection and high quality control in both residential and office building construction. This system features two lightweight steel stringers of box shape, bolted connections easy to absorb construction tolerance, and stair steps movable transversely (or sliding steps) such that the work space needed for concrete stairway wall could be easily provided. In this type of stairway system, other than providing robust connecting details, ensuring vibration performance is especially important since this system may be vibration-sensitive due to lightweight nature and/or probable low damping. To tackle these issues, a series of full-scale mock-up tests were conducted by using box-shape stringer members with or without concrete-fill. The connection system was shown to be sufficiently stiff and strong, or it remained elastic even under the 160% of service load level. Among the seven stringer alternatives, five exhibited satisfactory vibration performance according to the related North American and European acceptance criteria.

Background: Surgery has been the classical treatment of pectus carinatum (PC), though compressive orthotic braces have shown successful results in recent years. We propose a non-operative approach using a lightweight, patient-controlled dynamic chest-bracing device. Materials and Methods: Eighteen patients with PC were treated between July 2008 and June 2009. The treatment involved fitting of the brace, which was worn for at least 20 hours per day for 6 months. Their degree of satisfaction (1, no correction; 4, remarkable correction) was measured at 12 months after the initiation of the treatment. Results: Thirteen (72.2%) patients completed the treatment (mean time, $4.9{\pm}1.4$ months). In patients who completed the treatment, the mean overall satisfaction score was $3.73{\pm}0.39$. The mean satisfaction score was 4, and there was no recurrence of pectus carinatum in patients who underwent the treatment for at least 6 months. Minimal recurrence of pectus carinatum after removal of the compressive brace occurred in 5 (38.5%) patients who stopped wearing the compressive brace at 4 months. Conclusion: Compressive bracing results in a significant improvement in PC appearance in patients with an immature skeleton. However, patient compliance and diligent follow-up appear to be paramount for the success of this method of treatment. We currently offer this approach as a first-line treatment for PC.
The pipes using in water-based fire protection systems are used steel pipes for ordinary piping, carbon steel pipes for pressure service, copper and copper alloy seamless pipes and tubes, etc. By last buildings of high-rising, complexity, in fire protection systems, the corrosion resistance, easy construction, lightweight and cost-effective use of the pipes is being considered. Among the pipes, the possibility of used for fire protection system being used in the existing copper pipe of material properties, strength, corrosion resistance, heat resistance through and compare the performance was evaluated. As a result of that assessment light gauge stainless steel pipes for ordinary piping (KS D 3595) at a water pressure of less than 1.2 MPa can be used in sufficient physical properties, strength, corrosion resistance, heat resistance and have been observed.
