  • The demand for the use of 3D CAD data over the Internet environment has been increased. However, transmission of 3D CAD data has delayed the communication effectiveness because of the CAD data size. Lightweight CAD file design methodology is required for rapid transmission in the distributed environment. In this paper, to derive lightweight CAD files from commercial CAD systems, a file translation system producing a native file is constructed first by using the InterOp and API of the ACIS kernel. Using the B-rep model and mesh data extracted from the native file, the lightweight CAD file with topological information is constructed as a binary file. Since the lightweight CAD file retains topological information, it is applied to the dimensional verification, digital mock-ups and visualization of CAD files. Effectiveness of the proposed lightweight CAD file is confirmed through various case studies.

  • This study investigated the properties of lightweight foamed concrete by using synthetic foaming agent and artificial lightweight aggregate. The effects of artificial lightweight sizes on the compressive strength, density and pore structure of the concrete were investigated. The samples were assessed by MIP analysis and simultaneous SEM was used to study their pore distribution. This study showed the improvement of important properties of lightweight foamed concrete. Lower pore distribution and correspondingly higher compressive strength values were reached. This is for the purpose of providing basic data for the use of lightweight foamed concrete through improvement on the problem such as unstability, falling in fluidity and the strength of existed foaming agent.

  • Internet-of-Things (IoT) is an emerging technology that interconnects millions of small devices to enable communication between the devices. It is heavily deployed across small scale to large scale industries because of its wide range of applications. These devices are very capable of transferring data over the internet including critical data in few applications. Such data is exposed to various security threats and thereby raises privacy-related concerns. Even devices can be compromised by the attacker. Modern cryptographic algorithms running on traditional machines provide authentication, confidentiality, integrity, and non-repudiation in an easy manner. IoT devices have numerous constraints related to memory, storage, processors, operating systems and power. Researchers have proposed several hardware and software implementations for addressing security attacks in lightweight encryption mechanism. Several works have made on lightweight block ciphers for improving the confidentiality by means of providing security level against cryptanalysis techniques. With the advances in the cipher breaking techniques, it is important to increase the security level to much higher. This paper, focuses on securing the critical data that is being transmitted over the internet by PRESENT using key-based dynamic S-Box. Security analysis of the proposed algorithm against other lightweight block cipher shows a significant improvement against linear and differential attacks, biclique attack and avalanche effect. A novel key-based dynamic S-Box approach for PRESENT strongly withstands cryptanalytic attacks in the IoT Network.

  • Internet of Things (IoT) networks composed of a large number of sensors and actuators generate a huge volume of data and control commands, which should be enforced by strong data reliability. The end-to-end data reliability of IoT networks is an essential industrial enabler. Blockchain technology can provide strong data reliability and integrity within IoT networks. We designed a lightweight end-to-end blockchain network that applies to common IoT applications. Its enhanced modular architecture and lightweight consensus mechanism guarantee its practical applicability for general IoT applications. In addition, the proposed blockchain network is highly software compatible because it adopts the Hyperledger development environment. Directly embedding the proposed blockchain middleware platform in small computing devices proves its practicability.

  • Today, most data is stored in a database (DB). In the DB environment, the users requests the DB to find the data they wants. Similarity Query has predicate that explained by a similarity. However, in the process of processing the similarity query, it is difficult to use an index that can reduce the range of processed records, so the cost of calculating the similarity for all records in the table is high each time. To solve this problem, this paper defines a lightweight similarity function. The lightweight similarity function has lower data filtering accuracy than the similarity function, but consumes less cost than the similarity function. We present a method for reducing similarity query processing cost by using the lightweight similarity function features. Then, Chebyshev distance is presented as a lightweight similarity function to the Euclidean distance function, and the processing cost of a query using the existing similarity function and a query using the lightweight similarity function is compared. And through experiments, it is confirmed that the similarity query processing cost is reduced when Chebyshev distance is applied as a lightweight similarity function for Euclidean similarity.

  • The purpose of this study is to obtain basic data on the properties of the development of lightweight mortar contained foam agent for various applications in the field. In the experiment, as a result of measurement the specific gravity by the change of the W/C and the foam agent into a variable and measuring the compressive strength of mortar, specific gravity checked that a compressive strength therefore increased. Mortar is using lightweight foam agent having the change of specific gravity, the water cement ratio $50\%,\;40\%,\;30\%$. This paper present extensive data on the characteristics of strength of the lightweight mortar and also presents the mechanical characteristics of the lightweight according to specific gravity.

  • Sharing of CAD data plays a key role in the PLM and a lightweight model is widely used for visualizing and sharing a large data. The lightweight model is mainly composed of triangular elements to minimize file size. There is no problem at all to visually confirm the shape based on these triangular elements but there is a limit to numerically calculate the exact position on the curve or surface. In this paper, a boundary curve generation method using triangular elements is proposed to increase the utilization of lightweight models. After matching connectivity of triangular elements, boundary element edges are extracted. Boundary curves are generated by connecting of these boundary element edges. This proposed method has been tested on several models to demonstrate the feasibility.

  • In this paper, we designed a IoT(Internet of Things) sensor block embedded lightweight house deck structures that can be implemented using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer(CFRP). Deck-Sensor interconnection interface block via IoT connectivity Hub that can mount external environmental sensors such as fire sensors on the Deck body itself was also proposed. Additionally we described the configuration of devices for data acquisition and analysis based on IoT environmental detection sensors that can be commonly installed and used on these deck bodies. On the other hand, received sensing data based monitoring user interface(UI) also developed and used for sensing data analysis for remote monitoring center. Through the implementation of such IoT-based sensor data transmission and collection analysis devices and UI software, this paper confirmed the availability of CFRP based lightweight House deck structure and possibility of CFRP deck-based IoT sensor data networking and analysis functions.
