피뢰기를 고려한 자가용 전기설비 인입선로의 직류누설전류시험에 관한 연구 (A Study on the DC Leakage Current Test for Power Cable of Private Electrical Facilities considering Lightning Arrester)

  • Private electrical facilities are judged whether it is suitable for the insulation aging condition of their incoming underground cables using DC leakage current test method. In the case where the service point of utility is the secondary side of cut out switch installed in the electric pole, there is a problem that it is difficult to separate the lightning arresters(LA) because of their high position of the pole. Therefore, the field test voltage is applied at value lower than DC 30 kV, which are stated in the inspection guideline. However, this test could reduced the insulation performance of the LA by accelerating the electrical stress of the metal oxide varistor element in the pre-breakdown region. In this study, we analyzed the relationship between the DC test voltage and the leakage current using the non-destructive DC high voltage equipment with leakage current measurement function. The results show that the leakage current increases sharply above the specified test voltage. As a consequence, it could be contributed to improve insulation aging inspection method by selecting the possible test area on the VI characteristic curve of the pre-breakdown area of the LA.

  • This paper presents the temperature characteristics with structure of 18 kV lightning arresters for distribution. Three types of polymer arresters were fabricated and ceramic type arrester was also ready to investigate. Below $100^{\circ}C$, three types of polymer arresters exhibited almost the same leakage current value, but above $100^{\circ}C$, polymer arrester that arrester module was injected into polymer housing with grease exhibited the highest leakage current and the arrester with the lowest leakage current was the arrester that silicon rubber was directly injected to arrester module. The rising of leakage current of polymer arrester with grease was because of existing grease between FRP winding and silicon housing, and reducing the insulation characteristics of the grease. All polymer arresters exhibited the same temperature characteristics but ceramic typr arrester was slower than polymer arrester in heat emission despite lowest leakage current. It was thought that the air layer between ZnO varistor blocks and ceramic housing prevented the heat emission. However, in spite of the difference of the structure, the variation of the surface temperature of all arresters exhibited the same result.

  • This paper deals with the device for measuring the time-varying magnetic fields and induced voltages caused by lightning discharges. The system consists of two loop antennas for the measuring the magnetic flux density and induced voltages caused by the lightning current, an integrator a data acquisition and a personal computer with a software package that was developed for the analysis of the measurements.

  • V-p characteristics and the discharge luminous characteristics in inhomogeneous $SF_6$ gas gap under the positive and negative lightning impulse voltages are presented. The test gap was composed of the plane-to-plane with a needle-shaped protrusion. The applied voltage and the predischarge current were measured by the electric field sensor and the shunt of 50 ${\Omega}$, respectively. The light emission signals were observed by a photomultiplier tube, and a high-speed camera. In a consequence, the dielectric strengths of $SF_6$ gas gap under positive lightning impulse voltages were independent of the gas pressure. In the presence of the positive polarity, the branches of discharge channel were created and the directions of the discharge paths were random. On the other hands, the discharge paths of the negative polarity were more thicker and brighter.

  • This paper analyses the transient phenomena against single line to ground fault and lightning surge on underground power cable systems. For analysis in various fault conditions, several actual underground power cable systems are modeled using ATP In ground fault, the transient characteristic of the conductor and the sheath according to the fault current and the installation types of CCPU are analysed. In lightning surge strokes, the various unbalanced conditions including the length of crossbonded lead, the breakdown of CCPU and distance unbalance are considered. This paper is expected to contribute the establishment of proper protection methods against transients on underground power cable systems.

  • In recent years electric devices and telecommunication facilities were often damaged by surge generated lightning discharge. When the service was interrupted by failure of electrical devices due to surge the social loss is very enormous. Therefore in order to protect electrical systems against lightning, SPDs(Surge protective device) have been used But damaged SPDs often make some troubles like fire and interrupt of service. In this work, 3rd harmonic leakage current defection method was applied as the diagnosis of SPD degradation and the effectiveness of this method was verified by field survey.

  • This paper presents the behaviors of transient and conventional grounding impedances of a deep-driven ground rods associated with the injection point of lightning impulse currents. The transient impedance of deep-driven ground rods under lightning impulse currents were higher than the static ground resistance. The transient grounding impedances strongly depend on the injection point and size of grounding electrodes and the rising time of impulse current. Reduction of ground system inductance is an important factor to lightning surge protection.

  • This paper describes the measurement system of the magnetic field waveforms generated by lightning return strokes. The frequency bandwidth of magnetic field measurement system is from 270[Hz] to about 2.3 [MHz]. As the application experiment, the magnetic field generated by simple impulse and oscillating impulse currents, which are measured by a current transformer (Tek. AM503), is observed by the trial magnetic field measurement system. The obtained results are agreement with each other. A typical magnetic field waveform associated with lightning return strokes was recorded and presented.

  • For lightning currents, a grounding system shows the transient grounding impedance characteristics. A grounding system for protection against lightning should be evaluated by the transient grounding impedance, not it's ground resistance. The transient grounding impedance varies with the shape of ground electrode and earth characteristics as well as the waveform of lightning surge current. For the analysis and practical use of transient grounding impedance, the characteristics of transient grounding impedance should be analyzed theoretically and this paper suggests the theoretical analysis for the transient grounding impedance of counterpoise by using the distributed parameter circuit model. EMTP and Matlab are used to simulate the distributed parameter circuit model of counterpoise and the adequacy of the distributed parameter model of counterpoise is examined by comparing the simulated results with the measured results.

건물의 직격뢰시 본딩 방식에 따른 서지 진압 분포 (Surge Voltage Distribution at the Different Bonding Practice During a Direct Lightning Stroke to Building)

  • There are several ways to bond to building grounding systems for reducing GPR(ground potential rise) and EMI resulting from power system faults or lightning stroke to building. In order to verify effective bonding practice, the GPR and voltage of equipment due to the direct stroke to building are calculated with ATP-EMTP model for transformer, transmission line and MOV(Metal oxide varistor). The simulated model shows a satisfactory accuracy compared with experimental result for the $8/20{\mu}s$ simulated current pulse. It is observed that separate grounding can cause dangerous voltage to the building equipment and the performance of surge protective device can improve when it is installed to the protected equipment in distance as short as possible.
