  • 최근 환경 문제와 에너지 자원 고갈 등의 이유로 전력 사용에 있어서 효율이 매우 중요시 되고 있다. 이와 맞물려 기존의 교류배전에 비해 직류배전이 가지는 효율적 이점이 주목받으면서 직류 배전에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어 지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 직류배전 적용시 이용 가능한 양방향 AC/DC 전력 변환기의 경부하 효율 향상을 위해 새로운 skip-cycle mode를 개발하고 이를 디지털 제어를 이용하여 구현하였다. 풀브릿지 타입의 3.3kW 양방향 전력변환기를 이용하였다.

Loss Minimization Control for Induction Generators in Wind Power Systems Using Support Vector Regression

  • In this paper, a novel algorithm for increasing the steady state efficiency during light load operation of the induction generator that integrated with a wind power generation system is presented. The proposed algorithm based on the flux level reduction, where the flux level is estimated using Support-Vector -Machines for regression (SVR) for the optimum d-axis current of the generator. SVR is trained off-line to estimate the unknown mapping between the system's inputs and outputs, and then is used online to calculate the optimum d-axis current for minimizing generator loss. The experimental results show that SVR can define the flux-power loss accurately and determine the optimum d-axis current value precisely. The loss minimization process is more effective at low wind speed and the percent of power saving can approach to 40%.

  • In this paper, a new active snubber circuit that overcomes most of the drawbacks of the normal "zero voltage transition pulse width modulation" (ZVT-PWM) converter is proposed to contrive a new family of ZVT- PWM converter. A converter with the proposed snubber circuit can also operate at light load conditions. A design procedure of the proposed active snubber circuit is also presented. Additionally, at full output power in the proposed soft switching converter, the main switch loss is about 27[%] and the total circuit loss is about 36[%] of that in its counterpart hard switching converter, and so the overall efficiency, which is about 91[%] in the hard switching case, increases to about 97[%].

  • 본 논문에서는 대기 전력 상태에서의 효율 향상을 위한 고정 스위치 On-Time 제어 기법을 소개한다. 정격부하에서 효율이 최적화된 제어 기법들은 경부하조건에서 효율이 매우 저감된다는 한계가 있었다. 이를 해결하기 위해 Burst Mode와 같은 기법들이 연구되었으나 경부하 조건에서 여전히 효율이 크게 낮아진다는 한계가 있었다. 이를 해결하기 위해 제안된 방식을 150V 입력에 5V-3A에서 효율 최적화되도록 설계된 하드웨어 프로토타입을 이용해 경부하 조건에서 효율 향상을 실험적으로 검증하였다.

Energy Scavenging 시스템을 위한 회로의 특성 (Circuit Component Requirements for Energy Scavenging System)

  • Energy scavenging is a technique that converts ambient energy, for example, vibration and light, to electrical energy in order to supply power to low power electronic devices such as ubiquitous sensors. In this paper, we propose an optimal operation condition of power delivery circuit and design strategy for energy scavenging system in which the generated power is order of microwatt and, consequently, efficient handling of power is critical. We also propose that high data transmission rate is more realistic optimal design objective rather than high energy efficiency. It is shown that disconnection of load from the storage capacitor right after data transmission reduces energy wasting and that optimal value of storage capacitor can be determined at this condition. The feasibility of our propose is proved by experiments and we believe that the proposed design strategy will promote the application of piezoelectric micropower generator to the ubiquitous sensor networks.

  • This paper presents a package IC containing some components of DC/DC converter block for mobile phone's sub OLED(Organic Light Emitting Display). Package IC contains a load switch, a control IC, a diode, a switch for on/off operation, and a switch for changing output voltage. It operates with switching frequency of 100kHz, within the range of input voltage, $3.2V\~5.5V$. Duty ratio can be changed up to $93\%$, and maximum power efficiency is $85\%$. This package IC is loaded onto three model of 1.2W mobile phone's sub-OLED.

  • 본 논문에서는 전기자동차용 부하 직렬 공진형 컨버터(Series-loaded Resonant Converter, SRC)타입의 탑재형 충전기 (On-Board Charger, OBC)의 추가 회로 없이 경부하 효율을 향상시키기 위한 스위칭 방법들을 비교 분석한다. 시스템에 적용할 스위칭 제어 방법은 Asymmetrical Duty Cycle Control (ADC)과 Asymmetrical Voltage-Cancellation Control (AVC) 방법이다. 각 제어 방법을 기존의 3.3kW SRC-OBC의 적용하여 경부하 영역에서의 효율을 확인하고 각 제어 방법의 타당성을 검증한다.

  • Stacking sequence optimization needs discrete programming techniques because ply angles are limited to a fixed set of angles such as $0^{\circ},\;{\pm}45^{\circ},\;90^{\circ}$. Two typical methods are genetic algorithm and branch and bound method. The goal of this paper is to compare the methods in the light of their efficiency and performance in handling the constraints and finding the global optimum. For numerical examples, maximization of buckling load is used as objective and optimization results from each method are compared.

  • The direct-injection stratified-charge engine has the advantages of higher thermal efficiency and less CO and $NO_x$ emission levels than conventional spark ignition engines. However, its actual utilization is prevented by high unburned hydrocarbon emission levels during light-load operations. In this paper, fundamental studies were carried out using a pancake type constant volume bomb. The effects of intensification of local premixing by tangential and radial fuel injection were examined experimentally. Unburned hydrocarbon emission levels with radial fuel injection were shown to be lower than those of tangential fuel injection cases. The stratification and mixing process of fuel jet and combustion process were observed by schlieren photography.

  • Comparative analysis of driving inverters for piezo-electric transformer (PT) is performed and the suit- able drive circuit for portable devices such as personal digital assistants (PDA) is chosen with the experiment in this paper. As a result, a single-switch inverter with a small two winding reactor is chosen, and then the advantages of this method are clarified. It is also confirmed that the driving inverter with this method enables to realize a stabilized AC 400v output and 82% power efficiency from DC 3V input under the conditions of the variations of load current or input voltage from the experiments.
