A new hydroxypropylcellulose (HPC) capable of exhibiting reflection colours in the temperature ranges of about 60-$130^{\circ}C$ and acrylic acid esters of HPC (ESs) with degree of esterification (DE) ranging from 1 to 3 were synthesized. The crosslinked ES films with the optical pitch ($\lambda_m$) ranging throughout the visible region were also prepared by exposing thermotropic cholesteric phases of ESs with a DE of more than 2 to UV light at $50^{\circ}C$. The thermal and optical properties for both the uncrosslinked and crosslinked samples and the swelling behavior of the crosslinked films in acetone were investigated. The $\lambda_m$'s of ESs, as well as HPC itself, increased with temperature. However, the $\lambda_m$'s of ESs were larger than of HPC at the same temperature and decreased with increasing DE. The temperature dependence of $\lambda_m$of the crosslinked samples was much weaker than that of ESs. Moreover, in contrast with ESs that exhibit a decrease of the isotropization temperature with increase in the DE, the networks were found to decompose at about $210^{\circ}C$, giving no transition to an isotropic state. The crosslinked samples exhibited an anisotropic swelling, suggesting that the two-dimensional crosslinking preferentially performs between ES molecules.

An external cavity laser supporting two wavelengths is demonstrated by incorporating polymer waveguide Bragg reflectors and a superluminescent light-emitting diode. An oversized rib waveguide structure and Bragg gratings are designed by using the effective-index and transmission-matrix methods. Bragg gratings with different periods are inscribed on a polymer waveguide through double-exposure laser interferometry. In order to tune the cavity loss affected by the reflectivity of Bragg gratings, a Bragg reflectors with varying length is incorporated. Two-wavelength-mode lasing is achieved for the device consisting of 2-mm long, 537-nm period gratings and 2.2-mm long, 540-nm period gratings; the lasing wavelengths are 1554 nm and 1564 nm, with an output power close to 0 dBm, a 20-dB bandwidth of 0.2 nm, and a side-mode suppression ratio of 45 dB.

Three kinds of hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) derivatives, [6-{4-(4-cyanophenylazo)phenoxy}]hexyloxypropyl celluloses (CAHPCs) with degree of etherification (DET) ranging from 0.4 to 3, fully substituted acrylic acid esters of HPC (HPCA) and CAHPCs (CAHPCAs) were synthesized. The crosslinked HPCA (HPCAG) and CAHPCAs (CAHPCAGs) were also prepared by exposing thermotropic mesophases of HPCA and CAHPCAs to UV light. Both CAHPCs and CAHPCAs with DET ${\leq}$ 1.2, as well as HPC and HPCA, formed enantiotropic cholesteric phases whose optical pitches(${\lambda}_m$'s) increase with temperature, wheras both CAHPCs and CAHPCAs with DET ${\geq}$ 1.4 showed monotropic nematic phases. CAHPCAGs with DET ${\leq}$ 1.2, as well as CAHPCAs with DET ${\leq}$ 1.2, exhibited reflection colors in a wide temperature range. On the other hand, CAHPCAGs with DET ${\geq}$ 1.4, as well as CAHPCAs with DET ${\geq}$ 1.4, showed Schileren textures typical of nematic phase, indicating that the liquid crystalline structure is virtually locked upon photocrosslinking. The isotropization temperatures($T_i$'s) of both CAHPCAs and CAHPCAGs decreased with increasing DET. The $T_i$ of CAHPCAG, however, was higher than that of CAHPCA at the same DET. Moreover, the temperature dependence of ${\lambda}_m$ of CAHPCAGs was much weaker than that of CAHPCAs.

This paper proposes a image-based water level measurement method, which adapt to the ruler's surface condition. When the surface of a ruler is deteriorated by mud, drifts, or strong light reflection, the proposed method judges the pollution of ruler by comparing distance between two levels: the first one is the end position of horizontal edge region which keeps the pattern of ruler's marking, and the second one is the position where the sharpest drop occurs in the histogram which is construct using image density based on the axis of image height. If the ruler is polluted, the water level is a position of local valley of the section having a maximum difference between the local peak and valley around the second level. If the ruler is not polluted, the water level is detected as the position having horizontal edges more than 30% of histogram's maximum value around the first level. The detected water level is converted to the actual water level by using the mapping table which is construct based on the making of ruler in the image. The proposed method is compared to the ultrasonic based method to evaluate its accuracy and efficiency on the real situation.

'Post-memory' is the act of remembering traumatic events in history by subsequent generations who have not had direct experiences or relations with them. For this reason, the narratives of 'post-memory' are considered as re-interpretations of the past deeply influenced by current perspectives and concerns. The Chilean film NO goes back to the Referendum of 1988 in order to examine the "NO campaign" which was opposed to another eight years of continuation of the Pinochet regime. Although this campaign contributed significantly to the Chilean democratization, the filmmaker does not just celebrate it: rather he attempts to cast a critical reflection on its strategies that eventually turned democracy into a "commodity" by deploying commercial language and marketing tools for characterizing and describing it. On the other hand, the Korean movie The Attorney sheds light on the story of an attorney who, during the military regime in the 1980's, became a human rights lawyer when he tried to advocate for university students accused of violating national security law. This film reconstitutes the meaning of democracy built upon the logic of "common-sense" that privileges freedom and fundamental human rights over Statism. Despite the different historical contexts between Chile and South Korea, these two movies retell the history of a dictatorship that ended a couple of decades ago. In doing so, they raise questions about history, memory and democracy in order to deepen the understanding of current social and political circumstances while placing an emphasis on the roles and responsibilities of intellectuals during the transition to democracy and democratic consolidation.

Objective: This study investigated the effect of different acute heat stress (HS) levels on chicken meat quality and ultra-structure. Methods: Chickens were randomly divided into 7 groups to receive different HS treatments: i) $36^{\circ}C$ for 1 h, ii) $36^{\circ}C$ for 2 h, iii) $38^{\circ}C$ for 1 h, iv) $38^{\circ}C$ for 2 h, v) $40^{\circ}C$ for 1 h, vi) $40^{\circ}C$ for 2 h, and vii) un-stressed control group ($25^{\circ}C$). Blood cortisol level, breasts initial temperature, color, pH, water holding capacity (WHC), protein solubility and ultra-structure were analyzed. Results: HS temperatures had significant effects on breast meat temperature, lightness ($L^*$), redness ($a^*$), cooking loss and protein solubility (p<0.05). The HS at $36^{\circ}C$ increased $L^*{_{24h}}$ value (p<0.01) and increased the cooking loss (p<0.05), but decreased $a^*{_{24h}}$ value (p<0.05). However, as the temperature increased to $38^{\circ}C$ and $40^{\circ}C$, all the values of $L^*{_{24h}}$, cooking loss and protein denaturation level decreased, and the differences disappeared compared to control group (p>0.05). Only the ultimate $pH_{24h}$ at $40^{\circ}C$ decreased compared to the control group (p<0.01). The pH in $36^{\circ}C$ group declined greater than other heat-stressed group in the first hour postmortem, which contributed breast muscle protein degeneration combining with high body temperature, and these variations reflected on poor meat quality parameters. The muscle fiber integrity level in group $40^{\circ}C$ was much better than those in $36^{\circ}C$ with the denatured position mainly focused on the interval of muscle fibers which probably contributes WHC and light reflection. Conclusion: HS at higher temperature (above $38^{\circ}C$) before slaughter did not always lead to more pale and lower WHC breast meat. Breast meat quality parameters had a regression trend as HS temperature raised from $36^{\circ}C$. The interval of muscle fibers at 24 h postmortem and greater pH decline rate with high body temperature in early postmortem period could be a reasonable explanation for the variation of meat quality parameters.

Eight colors prescribed by the Enforcement Rules of the Road Traffic Act and the group standard were tested to secure the minimum recursive reflectance performance standards when drying and wetting. The results were calculated to be 260.8 (mcd/㎡·lux) when drying white and 154.6 (mcd/㎡·lux) when wet. Yellow was 67% compared to the white reflective performance when drying. Wet poetry was 79 % and 59 %, respectively. In the case of blue, it was 64% in the case of white versus 72% in the case of white. Wet poetry was 63 % and 72 %, respectively. The range of changes in reflective performance during wetting was higher than when drying, and the absence of glass grains was similar to the previous results. The new colors also have a standard value of more than 50% compared to the white color in red, orange, pink, light green, and green. Based on this, it was estimated that the minimum reflective performance criteria according to the color of the road markings would form the basis for the enforcement rules of the Road Traffic Act.

Throughout history, there are three clues of dualistic structures for the development of Hong Kong's nativism. First, inward attribution and outward lookingare two paths to the formation of Hong Kong's nativism. In the dualistic framework of "self-others", nativism is formed. The formation path of "outward looking"can be seen everywhere in the construction history of Hong Kong's nativism. It is under the reflection of "two mirrors" with Britain and Chinese mainland that Hong Kong people acquire the concept of "Hong Kong's nativism". Second, there are two aspects of Hong Kong's nativism: economic and cultural aspect and political aspect. With the gradual development of Hong Kong's history, these two aspects come into being and are closely bound up, thus constituting Hong Kong's nativism today. The third clue is the most critical one. The subjectivity of colonization and decolonization are two different forms of Hong Kong people's subjectivity. These three clues run through the whole process of the construction of Hong Kong nativism, and are carried out in three stages of development: "Origin (1960s-1970s): Preliminary Construction of Hong Kong's Nativism", "Development of Hong Kong's Nativism (1980s-1997): Awakening of Political Aspect" and "Formation and Alienation of Hong Kong's Nativism (1997-present): Deformed "decolonization". Along the evolution of Hong Kong's nativism, with the disintegration of colonialism, Hong Kong people have gradually transited from the subjectivity of colonization to the subjectivity of decolonization, but the process of "decolonization" has not been completed up to now.When nativism loses its native complex from the perspective of "inherent in China", and further develops into the "separatism" of anti-constitutional system and anti-national continuity and unity, it will challenge the stability of the relationship between the central government and the Special Administrative Region under the "one country, two systems". At the same time, it will have a greater impact on the political structure and the rule of law system of Hong Kong, and trigger a series of public law problems that need to be solved urgently. In this regard, on the one hand, we should re-clarify the relationship between the central government and the region under the "one country, two systems" in light of the new situation of democratic political development in Hong Kong, and improve Hong Kong's governance mechanism on the basis of the constitution and the basic law; on the other hand, we should actively learn from the German defensive democracy system to systematically interpret, integrate and apply Hong Kong's existing legal resources so as to effectively curb the development of local separatist forces.

This article examines the process of how Daesoon thought keeps its own identity while being practiced as a religion in Korean culture through the perspective of theological hermeneutics of E. Schillebeeckx, a representative theologian in 20th century, especially on the centering of the matter of experience. Schillebeeckx says that an experience is an occurrence of perception by encountering something different from oneself. According to him, 1) the occurrence of perception is premised on a framework or form of interpretation which prescribes experience as the experience in the perceptive dimension. 2) A framework of interpretation is subject to pre-existing system or structure which already has formed a basis to the experience. It consists of various interpretative elements such as social form, general knowledges, various experiences, theoretical models in their society, etc.. 3) The experiences take place in the reflection of contemporary situation, and it is understood by a society, thus making it a social stream. This experience is expressed historically, gains historicity in the process of being handed down from person to person, from generation to generation. In this way, an experience starts to form a tradition. 4) The tradition is a historical stream which gives rise to, admits, and integrates various experiences, religious revelation, and faith etc. In this way, the tradition as a historical stream becomes a field of religious actuality such as revelation, salvation, etc. Conclusively, a religion takes place, is formed, only when it is understood anew by the people who live in that cultural tradition through their languages. The ground Daesoon thought takes place, is formed, is in this way. Daesoon thought takes place in the core of traditional Korean culture, undergoes changes when it encounters the other stream of traditional Korean culture, and the vice versa. Because of this inevitable change, ironically enough, Daesoon thought can maintain its own identity as Daesoon thought, and Korean culture its own identity as Korean culture, avoiding falling into the tertiary which is neither Daesoon thought nor Korean culture. It is in this way that any religion can be in the faithfulness to its starting point to be enriched and transformed in its interaction with the other tradition. At here is the reason Daesoon thought has to have an openness to the changing world.

With the emergence of the internet and the increasing use of online communities for over 20 years, the age range of users has also been rising. This study explores the linguistic changes that have occurred as the user age in online communities has increased. To do this, data was collected and analyzed from an online community that has been actively operating, despite new member registrations being closed nine years ago. By comparing the posts over an 11-year period from 2012 to 2022, changes such as an increase in average comments, a decrease in interrogative sentences, and a decrease in imperative statements were observed. The study also proposed loneliness due to aging and a decline in curiosity and confidence as potential causes of these changes. In South Korea, which is rapidly entering an aging society unprecedentedly fast on a global scale, the increase in single-person households has evolved loneliness from a personal issue to a social problem, manifested in an increase in solitary deaths and reclusive individuals. This research sheds light on one aspect of these social phenomena through the analysis of data from a large online community.
