In every large hospital, nurses must perform simple repetitive tasks such as measuring body temperature. Such tedious work reduces nurses' motivation to provide quality medical care, which is an important element of the medical services provided by a hospital. If a device were available to measure body temperature, nurses could focus on the more important aspects of providing quality medical care to the patients. However, body temperature is generally measured from the throat, anus, tympanum or armpit, where it is difficult to affix a patch type device. In addition, general body temperature measuring points shows moving artifact error; therefore, it is not good point to continually measure the temperature. In this paper, a patch type skin temperature measuring system was developed. To appropriately measure the skin temperature, a thermal transducer was implemented with a thin (0.5 mm) temperature sensor. The system is small and thin ($H6.6{\sim}5.3{\times}L35{\times}W24\;mm$), and weighs only 5 g including a battery, case and circuit; therefore, it is small and light enough to function as a patch type device. Moreover, the system worked for 5 days. To investigate differences between the experimental and conventional thermometer, simple clinical experiments were performed with 17 volunteers, and the result showed some correlation between the implemented system and conventional thermometer (Correlation coefficient = 0.647, P<0.1).

The purpose of this study was to analyze air temperature decreasing effects by shading and ventilation at micro-scale experiment plots, especially focused on the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) in outdoor spaces. To monitor the time-serial changes of Dry-bulb Temperature (DT), Globe Temperature (GT) and Relative Humidity (RH) in the wind blocking and shading conditions, Two hexahedral steel frames were established on the open grass field, the dimension of each frame was 1.5m(W)${\times}$1.5m(L)${\times}$1.5m(H). Four vertical side of one frame was covered by transparent polyethylene film to prevent wind passing through (Wind break plot; WP). The top side of the other frame was covered with shading curtain which intercept 95% of solar light and energy (Shading plot; SP). And, Another vertical steel frame without any treatment preventing ventilation and sunlight was set up, which represents natural conditions (Control plot; CP). The major findings were as follows; 1. The average globe temperature (GT) was highest at WP showing $50.94^{\circ}C$ and lowest at SP showing $34.58^{\circ}C$. The GT of natural condition (SP) was $42.31^{\circ}C$ locating the midst between WP and SP. The difference of GT of each plot was about $8-16^{\circ}C$, which means the ventilation and shading has significant effect on decreasing the temperature. 2. WP showed the highest average dry-bulb temperature (DT) of $38.41^{\circ}C$ which apparently differ from SP and CP showing $31.94^{\circ}C$ and $33.15^{\circ}C$ respectively. The DT of SP and CP were nearly the same. 3. The average relative humidity (RH) was lowest at WP showing 15.21%, but SP and CP had similar RH 28.79%, 28.02% respectively. 4. The average of calculated WBGT were the highest at the WP ($27.61^{\circ}C$) and the lowest at the SP ($23.64^{\circ}C$). The CP ($25.49^{\circ}C$) was in the middle of the others. As summery, compared with natural condition (CP), the wind blocking increased about $2.11^{\circ}C$ WBGT, but the shading decreased about $1.84^{\circ}C$ WBGT. So It can be apparently said that the open space with much shading trees, sheltering furnitures and well-delivered wind corridor can reduce useless and even harmful energy for human outdoor activity considerably in outdoor spaces.
Eight days grown barley seedlings were treated with dimethipin for 72 hours and then the content of chlorophyll and photosynthetic electron activities of isolated chloroplasts were investigated. At the treatment of 10/sup -5/ M dimethipin the content of chlorophyll was decreased to 33% at 72 hours. Seven days etiolated barley seedlings were exposed to the light while dimethipin was added. At the time of 48 hours' greening chlorophyll content was reduced to 43% at 10/sup -4/M dimethipin and the chlorophyll a/b ratio was increased. In photosynthetic electron transport the activity of PSⅡ+PSⅠ was decreased to 10% at 48 hours and 25% at 72 hours at 10/sup -4/ M dimethipin. In the treatment of 10/sup -4/ M dimethipin the activity of PSⅡ+PSⅠ, except water splitting system was inhibited to 16% at 48 hours and 27% at 72 hours. The activity of PSⅡ was inhibited to 8% at 24 hours, 13% at 48 hours and 18% at 72 hours at 10/sup -4/ M dimethipin. The activity of PSⅠ was inhibited to 4% at 24 hours, 8% at 48 hours and 10% at 72 hours at 10/sup -4/ M dimethipin. In the times of greening of 7 days etiolated barley seedlings the activities of PSⅡ+PSⅠ were reduced to 5, 10, 10 and 11 % at 6, 12, 24, and 48 hours, respectively, at 10/sup -4/ M dimethipin. On the other hand, the activity of PSⅡ+PSⅠ except water splitting system, was not inhibited at all incubated hours in 10/sup -4/M dimethipin and there were no clear changes of the activities of PSⅡ and PSⅠ as compared to the control. Therefore, it could be concluded that dimethipin inhibited the photosynthetic electron activity by affecting the function of chloroplast rather than the synthesis of chloroplast and the inhibited function of chloroplast seems to come from the severe decrease of chlorophyll content.
To investigate diurnal variations of opiate receptor binding and its modification by experimental condition or treatment of various centrally-acting drugs, the amount of maximum $^3H-morphine$ binding in rat midbrain homogenates was measured at 4 hour intervals for 24 hours. Animals were conditioned under the controlled L : D, 12 : 12 cycle or D: D, 12 : 12 cycle, for 3 weeks and treated with 0.5 ml of physiological saline or drugs for 2 weeks. A highly significant diurnal rhythm with peak at 22 hour of early dark phase with an amplitude$(0.68{\pm}0.06\;pmole/mg\;protein)$ of +51.1% and nadir $(0.33{\pm}0.03\;mole/mg\;prtein)$ at 18 hour of late light phase with an amplitude of -26.6% was found in control group. 24 tour mean of $^3H-morphine$ binding was $0.45{\pm}0.03\;pmole/mg$ protein respectively. Constant dark adaptation or treatment of reserpine, pargyline, imipramine, amphetamine and chlorpromazine modified the diurnal rhythm in the time of peak and nadir binding shape, phase, amplitude of the diurnal curve and 24 hour mean of $^3H-morphine$ binding. However, Kd values were not changed in all experimental groups : Statistical analysis at times of least and great binding indicates that the differences in $^3H-morphine$ binding were due to changes not in the affinity, but in the number of binding sites. The results are interpreted with regard to the diurnal rhythm of opiate receptor finding. The modes of action of psychoactive drugs are closely related to postulated changes of receptor sensitivity in neuropharmacological aspects.

This study examined the difference between parents' and teachers' recognition about problem behaviors of children. The findings showed that there was a distinct difference between parents' and teachers' recognition about all problem behaviors of children. Especially, teachers had more recognition about problem behaviors of children than parents. And the reactive interaction and the actual prevention in educational institutions were preferred in the difference between parents' and teachers' recognition about a teaching strategy for children, such that teachers had significantly higher recognition about a teaching strategy for children than parents did, while there was no significant difference in the strategy for social emotion. This means that teachers should originally control and manage various problem behaviors based on the common teaching strategy, which is socio-emotionally recognized, rather than the biased teaching strategy. But the teaching strategy of reactive interaction is preferred in accordance with the type of problem behaviors between teachers and children and the children who show problem behaviors. Especially, teaching strategies of reactive interaction and actual prevention focused on the inhibition and prevention of children's problem behaviors are preferred in light of children's characteristics of many unexpected problem behaviors.
A series of experiments was planned for practical application of rhizobia in grass lands in Korea. This is the report for the studies mainly on the isolation and characterization of alfalfa nodule bacteria, and on the assessment of their nodulation abilities and nitrogen fixation capacities. 1. Total number of 47 strains was isolated from nodules which were taken from alfalfa grown in Daekwanyong, Cheju and other places. 2. Morphological and cultural characteristics of the strains were studied, and attempts. were also made to investigate their antigenic properties and to demonstrate lysogenic strains. The results were; i) the isolates varied in their cultural characteristics on yeast mannitol broth and agar, and in degree of congo red absorption; ii) similarities in their antigenic prorerties were found between the strains: SU 47/M-11, M-13/M-15, and M-3/M-5; iii) no lysogeny was found in the strains. 3. Plant infection test by test tube method in light room were carried out to elucidate the ability of the strains to nodulate Luna alfalfa and of the capacity of such nodules to fix atmospheric nitrogen. The isolates were grouped info non-invasive, ineffective, or effective to the legumes. Those strains which produced effective nodules, supporting similar/higher level of growth as nitrate control were: M-8, 9, 14, 20, 21, 25 and 34.

This study is intended to compare physical properties of fluorescent luminaires with ones of LED luminaires so as to analyze fundamental characteristics of LED luminaires. For this, a comparative analysis of uniformity ratio of illuminance and luminance distribution of these two luminaires was made, and materials for applying LED luminaires to interior construction space were prepared. This study was carried out in four stages. First, a theoretical review on LED illumination light source was made compared with the existing luminaires. Second, a mock-up to control experimental variables to meet the objective of this study was manufactured. Third uniformity ratio of illuminance and luminance distribution of each luminaire were measured by using the mock-up. Fourth, a comparative analysis of uniformity ratio of illuminance and characteristics of luminance distribution of the existing fluorescent luminaires and LED ones was made. As a result of the study, the uniformity ratio of illuminance of LED luminaires, 0.559, was higher than one of the existing fluorescent luminaires, 0.522. Namely, it was shown that illuminance distribution of LED luminaires was uniform and global diffuse was good. As a result of measuring luminance distribution, it was found that luminance distribution of LED luminaires was more uniform than one of the existing fluorescent luminaires. The maximum luminance of fluorescent luminaires and LED luminaires over the wall was $180.6[cd/m^2]$ and $155.26[cd/m^2]$ respectively. Namely, the maximum luminance of fluorescent luminaires was higher than one of LED luminaires. The average luminance of fluorescent luminaires and LED luminaires was $44.32[cd/m^2]$ and $58.65[cd/m^2]$. Like this, the average luminance of LED luminaires was higher than one of fluorescent luminaires. Considering these results, it's thought that LED luminaires can give a person in the room a more comfortable working environment than fluorescent luminaires.

Needs for Smart Grid development are increasing all over the world as a solution to its problem according to depletion of energy resources, climatic and environmental rapidly change and growing demand for electrical power. Especially decentralized power is attracting world's attention. In this mood a new era for a unit scale of decentralized power environment is on its way in building. However there is a problem to have to be solved in the uniformity of power quality because the amount of power generated from renewable energy resources such as wind power and solar light is very sensitive to climate fluctuation. And thus this paper tries to suggest an energy management method on basis of real time monitoring for meteorological data. In the current situation of lacking in USN-based killer application in Smart Grid field, this paper proposes the USN-based DER management system which collects the meteorological data and control power system througout utilizing wireless sensor network technique this business. This communication technique is regarded to be efficient in aspects of installation cost and tits maintenance cost. The proposed EMS model embodies the method for predicting the power generation by monitoring and analyzing the climatic data and controling the efficient power distribution between the renewable energy and the existing power. The ultimate goal of this paper is to provide the technological basis for achieving zero-energy house.
In this paper, we design and implement Wireless Transaction Protocol(WTP) and evaluate it for wireless transaction processing in mobile computing environments. The design and implementation of WTP are based on the coroutine model that might be suitable for light-weight portable devices. We test the compatibility between our product and the other products such as Nokia, Kannel and WinWAP For the evaluation of WTP, we use an Internet simulator that can arbitrary generate random wireless errors based on the Gilbert model. In our experiment, the performance of WTP is measured and compared to those of Transmission Control Protocol(TCP) and TCP for Transactions. The experiment shows that WTP outperforms the other two protocols for wireless transaction processing in terms of throughput and delay. Especially, WTP shows much higher performance In ease of high error rate and high probability of burst errors. This comes from the fact that WTP uses a small number of packets to process a transaction compared to the other two protocols and introduces a fixed time interval for retransmission instead of the exponential backoff algorithm. The experiment also shows that the WTP performance is optimized when the retransmission counter is set to 5 or 6 in case of high burst error rate.
The purpose of this study is to present reference data to be considered in designing fur the fire safety of atrium buildings. This study deals with the characteristics of atrium buildings in the fire safety aspect, analysis of fire examples and foreign fire codes of atrium space. And con-crete factors to be consigning fur the fire facilities of atrium buildings are presented. Recently many atrium spaces have been built in Korea. They provide new experience of space with resident and pedestrians. However, because of the lack of knowledge in design principle and disaster prevention, large loss of lives is expected in an emergency situation. cion. Therefore safety ensuring from the case is urgently needed. The following is the summary on the standard of effective fire facilities for the atrium. 1. The smoke control. inside atrium must use the machine ventilation in the atrium. 2. It is desirable to divide the section between atrium and nearby living room by anti-smoke screen in order to prevent damage by smoke when fire break out. 3. It is desirable to instill an excellent fire detector like infrared light detector as a replacement of old one. 4. It is desirable to transfer from closed operating sprinkler to fire-cycle sprinkler equipment or ablative sprinkler when the height is lower than 20m.
