Development of a Shower Carrier based on the Needs in Long-term Care Institutions

  • Objective: This study developed a new shower carrier prototype to reduce caregivers' muscle burden and to increase use convenience by reflecting the needs of domestic long-term care institutions. Background: In the long-term care institutions, one of the ADL(Activities of Daily Life) factors is bathing/showering. Recently, bath/shower-assisting equipment is actively being introduced in care institutions to reduce the caregivers' care cost, but most of the domestic equipment was designed to imitate foreign products and rarely reflected the needs of care institutions. Method: Based on Korean elderly people's body information, the bed size(length: 1,900mm, width: 650mm) was set-up, and a variable headrest with a newly designed headform was developed to provide the comfort for the elderly and convenience for caregivers. To reduce caregivers' muscle burden on transferring and showering activities, a 3-step column lifting module equipped with dual actuators(lowest/highest levels from the ground: 600/1,100mm, Stroke: 500mm) was developed, and the wheelbase parameter(length: 1,250mm, width: 580mm) was defined securing the turn-over safety of the shower carrier. The drivability tests were performed for the prototype and foreign product, and the male and female subject's muscle activities were measured through the tests. Results: The structural stability of the shower carrier prototype was secured by finite element analysis, and the muscle activities of the subjects through the drivability tests largely decreased in the prototype, compared to the foreign product. Conclusion: In this study, a new shower carrier prototype was developed to possibly reduce caregivers' muscle burden and to increase use convenience based on the needs of long-term care institutions. It was expected that the drivability performance of the prototype could be relatively superior to that of the foreign product. Application: The results obtained from the study can be applied for the optimal development of a shower carrier including other equipment to effectively care for the elderly.

중장비 상태 감시를 위한 디스플레이 시스템 구현에 대한 연구 (A Study on Realization of Display System for Monitoring of Heavy Equipment State)

  • 본 연구에서는 붐 길이를 측정할 수 있는 센서, 붐 및 로더의 좌우측의 경사를 측정할 수 있는 각도센서 그리고 리프팅 시 무게를 측정할 수 있는 로드셀 등의 여러 센서를 장착한 다목적 로더의 특성과 운행에 관련된 데이터 값을 디스플레이하는 시스템을 구현하였다. 시스템의 구성은 다음 각종 센서로부터 값을 읽어와 이를 차량제어기에 보내고 제어기에서 계산한 전복률 결과와 기타 중요한 정보를 디스플레이 장치에 CANOpen 프로토콜을 이용하여 전달하게 하였다. 또한 전복률 계산에 있어서는 다목적 로더의 구조가 중장비에 속하는 크레인의 구조와 비슷하여 크레인 전복률 계산방식을 사용하였으며 좌우 경사도에 따른 전복 위험성은 실험을 통하여 전복가능성이 있는 좌우 경사각을 추출하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 중장비 차량의 상태를 관찰하며 전복 등의 비상 상황을 디스플레이 장치를 통해 사전 인지할 수 있게 하였다.

안전·운용 지원 시스템을 적용한 해양레저선박 이송장치 개발 (Development of Transporter for Marine Leisure Ship with Safety and Operation Support System)

  • Recently, the interest in marine leisure activities has been growing rapidly with the work-life balance trend. In response to this demand, the Korean government is supporting fostering and revitalizing the relevant industries and facilities. In particular, a marina has been making efforts to change itself into a resort with multiple amenities instead of a simple mooring facility. However, the facilities in a marina for the transport of marine leisure equipment mostly consist of cranes and boat-lifts using ropes, which can result in incidents such as damage and accidents during lifting or movement. This paper proposes the equipment and support system for the safe transportation of marine leisure ships. Aluminum transport equipment was designed by performing a structural analysis to achieve a lighter weight than the existing steel products. In addition, a safety support system with alarms for tilting or obstacles and a slope monitoring system was developed to enhance the safety during operation and transportation. The safety support system developed in this study was implemented and installed in the transport system, and verified through commissioning on land.

소방대원의 중량물작업에 대한 인간공학적 분석 (An Ergonomic Analysis for Heavy Manual Material Handling Jobs by Fire Fighters)

  • 본 연구에서는 소방대원이 수행하는 업무 중 중량물을 다루어야 하는 작업에 대한 분류 및 정량적 분석(NLE, 3DSSPP)을 수행하여 향후 소방대원의 중량물 관련 작업에 대한 위험도를 예측하고, 관련 위험도를 감소시키기 위한 기초 자료를 도출하고자 하였다. 도출된 위험도 등급은 위험도 점수가 3점부터 9점까지 총 7단계로 구성되었다. 가장 위험도가 높은 1등급은 나타나지 않았으며 인명구조 작업이 두 번째로 높은 2등급에 속하는 것으로 나타났다. 3등급은 파괴기구 활용, 환자 들어올리기작업 등으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과들은 소방대원의 허리 부상을 포함하는 근골격계 질환 예방을 위한 작업방법 및 장비의 개선, 교육 프로그램의 개발에 기본 토대가 될 수 있다고 판단되며, 소방대원들의 근골격계 질환에 대한 지속적인 예방을 위해서는 본 연구의 골격을 토대로 한 추후 심층적인 조사와 연구가 시급하다고 사료된다.

  • This study deals with the method of determining the tip-over stability of a truck mounted on a high place operation car that is frequently used to carry out high-altitude work. Multibody Dynamics Program and Zero Moment Point (ZMP) theory are used to include dynamic effects during the car's high place operation. Through a combination of the Multibody Dynamics Program and ZMP, understanding the dynamic effects of the car's operating parts and building a detailed tip-over model of the car permitted a more precise prediction of the car's tipping-over behavior. It is also expected to help reduce the car's development time due to the time-effective simulation and provide safer work levels for the operating guide (in terms of working radius and lifting capability) with the dynamics effects.

  • 초고층 건축물의 수요가 늘어나면서 수직 양중 계획과 장비에 대한 중요성이 증대되고 있으며, 경제적이고 효율적인 리프트 사용을 위하여 무인 리프트의 사용 비중이 늘어나고 있다. 하지만 리프트의 정지위치 에러가 발생하거나 누적되는 경우 작업 효율성이 떨어지고, 문제 해결을 위해 리프트 업체가 리프트를 재 세팅 하는 동안 리프트 사용이 불가하게 되어 공사 진행에 장애가 된다. 본 연구에서는 리프트 정지위치 에러에 의한 시간 및 비용 손실을 방지하기 위해 리프트 정지위치 감지장치를 개발하였다. 실험을 통해, 정지위치 에러 발생 시 이를 보정하는 기능을 검증하였고, 정확도도 약 9.75mm 증가하는 것을 확인하였다.

  • 예측 불가능한 자연 재해를 포함하여 현장관리자의 장비 설치 및 운영 시의 경험부족은 타워크레인과 같은 대형양중장비에 심각한 사고의 원인으로 작용한다. 국내에서는 2003년 태풍 "매미"의 영향으로 불안정한 지지구조를 가진 약 50여대의 타워크레인이 전복되는 사고가 발생하였으며, 아직까지 많은 현장관리자는 대형양중장비에 대한 설치 및 운영에 대한 이해가 부족하여 예산을 실행하는 데 비효율적인 모습을 보이고 있다. 또한, 최근 들어 초고층 건설 프로젝트가 급격하게 증가함으로써 타워크레인의 사용빈도 또한 증가하고 있으므로, 이로 인한 타워크레인 기초판의 지지 안정성뿐만 아니라 횡지지 안정성을 검토하는 것이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 타워크레인의 횡지지 최적설계 알고리즘을 개발하는 것으로, 타워크레인 횡지지의 구조적인 안정성을 확보하고 비용이 최소화되는 부재조합을 선택하여 현장에 적용 가능하게 한다. 이는 향후 현장관리자의 타워크레인 설치 및 운영 업무를 효율적으로 증진시킬 것이다.

저강도 초음파 치료기기의 안전성 및 성능평가 가이드라인 수립을 위한 연구 (A Study on the Safety and Performance Test Guideline of Low Intensity Therapeutic Ultrasound Device)

  • In this study, we suggested the performance and safety testing guideline for low intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) represented by the ultrasound fracture treatment device and cartilage treatment device and low intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) represented by ultrasonic face lifting device. For these study, the international standards and management regulations of Korea, Japan and United State were analyzed. And the usefulness and applicability were evaluated by testing with commercial equipment and reflecting the views of the industry and experts. As a result of this study, the safety and performance test guidelines for low intensity therapeutic ultrasound device were proposed by presenting the 10 items for LIPUS and 12 items for LIFU. The suggested guidelines are considered a high utilization in the domestic testing and approval authorities. And they are also thought to be useful to new technology development.

상지절단 장애인용 전동의수에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Myoelectronic Hand for a Hand Amputee)

  • This purpose of this study was to design the effect of recovering of a hand amputees by Myoelectronic hand. It was designed with 2 degree of freedom in the laboratory. Myoelectronic hand had only one degree of freedom and one movement until now. Also this myoelectronic hand had multi-joint and it could move widely. Wire was used in transmission. Myoelectronic hand data was obtained by analyzing hand anatomically and measuring and that data was applied when it was designed. PID controller of Myoelectronic hand was used to it. Displacement control was applied the first link. Experiment was accomplished in Tip grasp, Power grasp and Hook grasp modes. Displacement control was good in low frequency. Velocity control was applied to each mode. The objective of the study was to develop more better multifunction myoelectronic control strategies. A myoelectronic hand with a hand amputees could do some jobs such as grasping materials, lifting weighting, holding cup and etc. As a result of this study, all subjects with hand amputees significantly improved in ADL. Further studies were needed to evaluate the effect of a myoelectronic hand with more precise laboratory equipment.

안전방출밸브 개발과 용량인증 사례 (Experience for Development and Capacity Certification of Safety Relief Valves)

  • The purpose of this study is localization of safety relief valves for Nuclear Service. The safety relief valve is the important equipment used to protect the pressure vessel, the steam generator and the other pressure facility from overpressure by discharging the operating medium when the pressure of system is reaching the design pressure of the system. We developed design technology used FEM ' CFM about safety relief valve for Nuclear Service according to ASME (or KEPIC) Code and KHNP's Technical Specification. To prove validity of a design technology, actually, we manufactured and inspected and tested the sample products designed according to a developed technology. The capacity qualification test was achieved according to requirement of ASME(or KEPIC) Code by NBBI and the functional qualification test was achieved according to ASME QME-1 for operating condition in technical specification of KHNP by NLI. Therefore we have to achieve the development of safety relief valves for Nuclear Service with our own technologies.
