  • This paper estimates the life cycle cost(LCC) of a propulsion control system using the maintenance information in the high speed train(KTX-1). Life cycle costing is one of the most effective approaches for the cost analysis of long-life systems such as the KTX-1. Until now, most life cycle cost of the system has been studied as a whole system viewpoint. But in case of railway industry, LCC studies are needed on the subsystem like a propulsion control system because subsystems are developed continuously localization. This paper proposes the life cycle cost model which fitted to estimate life cycle cost (LCC) using maintenance information manual. As a result, LCC on propulsion control system increased moderately expect for periodical time when major parts are replaced at the same time. Results will be reflected in the development of domestic products.

  • In this study, it reviewed about evacuation performance of a specified Office Building. assessment tools is FAST 3.1.7 (Estimation of Flash Over, Estimation of Layer Height Down Flow Time), SIMULEX 32-bit (Estimation of Evacuation Time), JASMINE 3.25d. (Smoke Flow Assessment of a specified time) Result from Fire Scenario # 1, Flash Over is not generated in Compartment. Evacuation Time is estimated 25.2 sec by SIMULEX 32-bit. layer height until this time (25.2 sec) was estimated 2.4 m by FAST 3.1.7. After ignition until this time (25.2 sec), smoke was not release to the a corridor. In consequence, We concluded that people in building are completing the safe evacuation without the damage of smoke. Result from Fire Scenario # 1, Flash Over generated 6 min 33.2 sec in Compartment. Evacuation Time is estimated 1 min 25.5 sec by SIMULEX 32-bit. layer height down flow time is 1 min 40.8 sec by FAST 3.1.7 and 5 min 23 sec by theoretical calculation. Also, total building evacuation time was estimated 2 min 26.6 sec. After ignition until this time (2 min 26.6 sec), smoke released to the a corridor but it amount was few little. Therefore, generated smoke in compartment not effected to the people in buildings.

  • This paper analyses the environmental effect of 100kw PV system installed in Tibet using Life Cycle Assessment(LCA). Then, energy payback time(EPT) and life-cycle $CO_2$ emission rate are estimated based on life-cycle of the PV system. As a result of the estimation, 6 year of EPT and 20 g-C/kWh of $CO_2$ emission rate are obtained. In China, average $CO_2$ emission rate of fossil fuel power generation plant is 260 g-C/kWh. This shows that PV system would be very promising for global environmental issues. For advanced LCA, we need to collect detailed and various data about raw material of PV system.

  • We consider a life testing experiment in which several two-component shared parallel systems are put on test, and the test is terminated at a predesigned experiment time. The bivariate data obtained from such a system-level life testing can be classified into three cases: 1) the case of failed two components with known failures times, 2) the case of censored two components, and 3) the case of one censored component and the other failed component of which the failure time might be known or unknown. In this thesis, the likelihood estimators for Freund's bivariate exponential life distribution under above censoring scheme are obtained. Results of comparative studies based on Monte Carlo simulation are presented.

  • This paper identifies these data by the data diagnosis in lognormal distribution and presents the method to obtain exact parameter estimates and confidence intervals of regression line. The life-stress relationship uses Arrhenius model and life data generate Class-H insulation complete data by simulation. Also, the method to estimate parameters uses least squares estimation and externally Studentized residuals can be used as test statistics for identifing outliers. And influential cases are identified by Cook's distance. This research is intended to obtain the useful information for the life of products and test method, to save time and costs, and to help optimum accelerated life test plans.

  • Ship structure is composed of the welded mixture members which are plate and stiffeners. Ship structure is also influenced by variable loadings such as wave and inertia load. There have been several fatigue damage problems on the connection between longitudinal and transverse web due to wide usage of high tensile steel and adoption of wide web space to improve shipbuilding productivity. It is impossible to estimate the fatigue lives for all connection details through refined fatigue analysis. It is necessary to use the simplified approach for the fatigue life estimation of the connection details. PLUS analysis, which is suggested by the classification society, is one of the simplified approaches and is widely adopted to get fatigue lives for the connection details along whole cargo hold area. However, ship building yards still have difficulties to get fatigue lives due to large amount of calculation and time even if this approach reduce the time and amount of calculation. This paper treats the computing system developed to reduce efforts of estimating the fatigue lives. The influence factors of mean shear stress and local dynamic pressure are easily calculated and fatigue lives for all hot spots can be estimated automatically by the developed computing system. It is possible to reduce computing time and efforts to get the fatigue lives for the connection details between longitudinals and transverse webs along the ship. This system was applied to get fatigue lives on the connection details of a VLCC and verified the availability.

  • This paper considers the problem of estimating parameters of the bivariate exponential distribution with a location parameter for a two-component shared parallel system using component data from system-level life test terminated at the time of the prespecified number of system failure. In the system-level life testing, there are three patterns of failure types ; 1) both component failed 2) both component censored 3) one is failed and the other is censored. In the third case, we assume that the failure time might be known or unknown. The maximum likelihood estimators are obtained for the case of known/unknown failure time when the other component is censored.

  • In this paper, estimation and prediction procedures are discussed for grneral situation in which the failure time follows the independent density $f_{i}({\varepsilon}_{i})$ for the accelerated life testing under Type II censoring. In the context of accelerated life test experiment, procedures are given for estimating the parameters in the Eyring model, and for estimating mean life at a given future stress level. The procedures given are conditional confidence interval procedures, obtained by conditioning on ancillary statistics. A comparison is made of these procedures and procedures based on asymptotic properties of the maximum, likelihood estimates.
