Brand Imaging a City for Tourism (관광 콘텐츠 개발을 위한 도시 브랜드화)

  • Major purpose of brand establishment of city is to give pride for the citizen and to enhance the city value through improving city image. As modern society wants aggressive and active attitude from all fields, the city, which means as human place of residence, has to try to change for human life and prosperity. It is true that the establishment of brand is shown through politics, economy, society, culture and art, however travel effect and profit creation should be most important. In actual circumstance of our country, that travel deficit is getting increased. the brand establishment of city is more concerned. To build a city, history and time is essential elements. It may be impossible that consistent direction and meaning continue throughout long terms, but after all, the kernel of tourism contents is that idea and development is concentrated focusing consistent direction and meaning. To solve this, problem of strategy and direction was researched through analysis of foreign cities, and also understanding of future role of city in 21st century make a base for rebirth as international travel city. After city brand establishment based on continuous management, it is very important to make city which has strong image power.

Multiparous Women's Experience of Labor Pain : Pheminological Method (경산모의 분만통증 경험에 관한 연구)

  • Pain is a complex perceptual experience that is profoundly influenced by a number of variables, differing in quality as well as in intensity. Therefore we need to understand the actual experience of multiparous women in order to provide basic information for nursing care. The purpose of the study is to explore the experience of labor pain. The data are collected through in-depth interviews of 17 multiparous women in city of Pusan from October 1998 to March 1999. The interviews were conducted 1-2 days after delivery in the admission room. Each interview lasted about 45 minutes on average. Subjects were interviewed one at a time. The interviews were recorded with the consent of the subject. Data were analyzed by means of Giorgi's Phenomenological analysis methods and categorized according to the similarities of its contents. The investigator read the data repeatedly to identify themes and categories. Six categories that were identified were : 1) pain 2) regret 3) acceptance 4) maturity 5) accomplishment 6) newness. Under these categories there were seventeen themes. I. Pain: 1) too dependent on others 2) too painful 3) fear or anxiety from previous painful experience 4) avoidance of pain 5) couldn't control the pain II. Regret : 1) spouse's absence 2) unprofessional attitude of the staff 3) ignorance of other's towards their pain III. Acceptance : 1) took the pain for granted 2) accepted the pain as fate 3) endured the pain IV. Maturity : 1) appreciated the value of life 2) apprehension of parent V. Accomplishment : 1)is over sense of accomplishment 2) grateful the pain VI. Newness : 1) experienced a new feeling 2) quickly forgot the pain. The results of the study will provide basic data for labor pain management.

Application of Acrylic Resins Containing Caprolactone Group and 90% Solid Contents to High-Solid Coatings (카프로락톤기 함유 90% 고형분인 아크릴수지의 하이솔리드 도료에의 적용)

  • In order to prepare high-solid coatings, acrylic resins, HSCs [poly (EA/EMA/2-HEMA/CLA)] that contain 90% solid, were synthesized by copolymerization of ethyl acrylate (EA), ethyl methacrylate (EMA), 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (2-HEMA) and caprolactone acrylate (CLA). The high-solid coatings named as CHSCs (HSCs/HDI-trimer) were prepared by the curing reaction between the acrylic resins containing 90% solid contents and the isocyanates (HDI-trimer) curing agent room temperature. The curing behavior and various properties were examined on the film coated with the both high-solid coatings. The glass transition temperatures $(T_g)$ of CHSCs increased proportionally with increasing the predicted $T_g$ value by Fox equation, and had nothing to do with the solid contents. The prepared film showed good properties for $60^{\circ}$ specular gloss, impact resistance, cross-hatch adhesion and heat resistance, and bad properties for pencil hardness, drying time, and pot-life. Among the film properties, the heat resistance was very excellent and could be explained by the introduction of functional monomers of CLA.

Efficacy of the Decompressive Craniectomy for Acute Cerebral Infarction : Timing of Surgical Intervention and Clinical Prognostic Factors

  • Objective : Acute cerebral infarction is often accompanied by transtentorial herniation which can be fatal. The aim of this study is to determine the timing of surgical intervention and prognostic factors in patients who present with acute cerebral infarction. Methods : We reviewed retrospectively 23 patients with acute cerebral infarction, who received decompressive craniectomy or conservative treatment from January 2002 to December 2004. We divided patients into two groups according to the treatment modalities [Group 1 : conservative treatment, Group 2 : decompressive craniectomy]. In all patients, the outcome was quantified with Glasgow Outcome Scale and Barthel Index. Results : Of the 23 patients, 11 underwent decompressive craniectomy. With decompressive craniectomy at the time of loss of pupillary light reflex, we were able to prevent death secondary to severe brain edema in all cases. Preoperative Glasgow Coma Scale and loss of pupillary light reflex were significant to the clinical outcome statistically. With conservative treatment, 9 of the 12 patients died secondary to transtentorial herniation. The clinical outcomes of remaining 3 patients were poor. Conclusion : This study confirms the value of life-saving procedure of decompressive craniectomy after acute cerebral infarction. We propose that the loss of pupillary light reflex should be considered one of the most important factors to determine the timing of the decompressive craniectomy.

Prediction Model for the Extraction Weights and Extraction Rate of Barley and Cassia Tora Seed Tea by Different Extraction Conditions (보리차 및 결명자(決明子)차의 추출조건(抽出條件)의 변화(變化)에 따른 추출량(抽出量) 및 추출속도(抽出速度) 예측(豫測)모델)

  • The most important factors among extraction conditions in the extraction process of Barley and Casia tora seed are particle size, extraction temperature, time and initial concentration. In this research project, then, the amounts of extracted materials were measured at various conditions of above factors. They were increased as the particle sizes were decreased and were also increased in the proportional to the value of square of temperature. General mathematical prediction models were developed by an optimization technique for the amounts of extracted materials and extraction rate on the basis of each independent factor. Then, the final prediction model was obtained upon all the factors. As the results, it was also found that the values of overall mass transfer coefficients were increased as the particle sizes were decreased.

  • This research is about Social Education, Reading Movement and Meaning of the Gyeongseong Library which observe from ethnic viewpoint. The result is same as following. First, The Gyeongseong library is the unique library which korean people build, and they thought very seriously. So, tried to keep this library for a long time. The Gyeongseong library supplied knowledge to Korean, although the life was not long. And, as ethnic business value of the Gyeongseong library was much, too. Second, the Gyeongseong library paid attention to child education and education of women as well as it is our country's first public library. And accomplished social education institution's role. Third, readers' of the library was that man was most and the fair readers was minor part, and student was mainly(distinction of sex and profession tendency). And literature, language study etc. got to read most.

Submandibular sialolithiasis with CT and scintigraphy: CT values and salivary gland excretion in the submandibular glands

  • Purpose: Sialolithiasis is one of the most prevalent large obstructive disorders of the submandibular glands. The aim of this study was to investigate submandibular sialolithiasis with computed tomography (CT) and scintigraphy, with a particular focus on the relationship between CT values of the submandibular glands and their excretion rate. Materials and Methods: Fifteen patients with submandibular sialolithiasis who underwent CT and salivary gland scintigraphy were included in this study. The relationship between the CT values of submandibular glands with and without sialoliths and salivary gland excretion measured using salivary gland scintigraphy was statistically analyzed. Dynamic images were recorded on the computer at 1 frame per 20 seconds. The salivary gland excretion fraction was defined as A (before stimulation test [counts/frame]) / B (after stimulation test [counts/frame]) using time-activity curves. Results: The CT values in the submandibular glands with and without sialoliths was $9.9{\pm}44.9$ Hounsfield units(HU) and $34.2{\pm}21.8HU$, respectively (P=.233). Regarding the salivary gland excretion fraction using scintigraphy, the A/B value in the submandibular glands with sialoliths ($1.09{\pm}0.23$) was significantly lower than in the submandibular glands without sialoliths($1.99{\pm}0.57$, P=.000). Conclusion: Assessments of the CT values and the salivary gland excretion fraction using scintigraphy in the submandibular glands seem to be useful tools evaluating submandibular sialolithiasis.

Ecotoxicity Estimation of Hazardous Air Pollutants Emitted from Semiconductor Manufacturing Processes Utilizing QSAR

  • This study aims to assess the ecological risk of the hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) emitted in the semiconductor manufacturing processes in Korea by using Quantitative Structure Activity Relationship (QSAR, EPA, US, EPI $Suite^{TM}$ 4.1). Owing to the absence of environmental standards of hazardous air pollutants in the semiconductor manufacturing processes in Korea, 18 HAPs in the semiconductor field included in both the US EPA NESHAPs and the hazardous air pollutant list of Ministry of Environment in Korea were selected. As a results 8 chemicals (44.4%) of the selected 18 HAPs were VOCs. Cyanides (cyanides) and ethylene oxides (epoxy resins), and tetrachloro-ethylene (aliphatic compounds, halides) showed long half-lives. Cyanide HAPs especially had the highest half-life with the estimated value of 356.533 days. Nickel compounds (heavy metal compounds) possessed the highest water solubility followed by acetaldehyde (aldehyde compounds), ethylene oxides, and 1,4-dioxanes. The halides, including tetrachloro-ethylenes, carbon tetra-chlorides, benzene (aromatic compounds), and lead (heavy metals), are estimated to take the longest time for biodegradation. Tetrachloroethylene, with the acute toxicity end point of 3.685-7.033 mg/L, was assessed to be the most highly toxic substance among the 18 HAPs. However, considering the absence of the HAPs in the common category of log $K_{ow}{\geq}4$and $BCF{\geq}500$, which indicates the standard of bioconcentration potentials, potentials of the bioconcentration are considered to be low.

  • For decades, the productivity issue has been a primary concern for the all stake-holders who participate in domestic construction industry. Especially, between a whole life cycle of building, the construction phase's productivity problem makes or break the entire project. In this respect, the general construction company, who accept the order and construct the building(so called General Contractor), should consider various strategies, such as schedule management, cost management, quality management, inner-crew management, etc., for the productivity improvement., and almost of these management methods have been studied for a long time. But, the researches and studies about the specialty contractor, who construct the building directly in construction site were not sufficiently complete yet. This research begins as an idea which tries to apply the BIM(Building Information Modeling) into the tasks of Specialty contractors for their productivity improvement. And for the effective application of construction BIM to specialty contractors, establish of the BIM project execution plan for them, not the fragmentary adoption of BIM. Therefore, in this paper, we develop the BIM project execution plan for the reinforced concrete companies who conduct the framework construction which located on CP(Critical Path) Especially, we model the "Construction BIM Use List for the RC Work", "BIM Application Master Process" and "BIM Application Detailed Process", and general contractor who use these BIM uses list and process models can manage various specialty contractors about schedule, cost, earned value, quality, safety and environment management systematically.

Shape Optimum Design of Ship's Bellows Using Statistical Method (통계적 방법을 이용한 선박용 벨로우즈의 형상 최적 설계)

  • Bellows are mechanical components which prevent the damage of system by absorption of the vibration and the displacement of axle and radial direction. Thermal piping system is expanded by the fluid of the high temperature from the heat engine inside. At this time, bellows prevent the damage of the piping due to the thermal expansion. Recently, design of bellows is required to fit some other operational environments which are not suggested in the E.J.M.A code book. And it is difficult to produce and to maintain bellows of high temperature and high pressure bemuse of its complicated shape and this causes the manufacturing cost to rise. The objective of this study is to determine optimum shape of bellows which can endure in the high temperature and high pressure. The maximum stress has an effect on the fatigue life of bellows, therefore it needs to be minimized. This study attempts to find a shape which minimizes the stress occurring in the bellows by the design of experiment. The model used in this study is not presented in the E.J.M.A code book, therefore, from the result of design of experiment we find the factors which give effects on the characteristic value and we presents the recession model using the RSM, which can predict the characteristic values depending on the change of factor values.
