Evaluation of Drought Resistance of Introduced Peppers (도입(導入)고추의 내건성(耐乾性) 평가(評價))

  • Sixteen introductions of pepper (Capsicum annuum) were tested for drought resistance. Watering was stopped to the plants grown in perlite in pots to induce drought. After certain period of time, WSD value and stomatal density of mature leaves were measured for evaluation of drought resistance. A correlationship between WSD value and stomatal density was determined. On the basis of WSD value, the most drought-resistant varieties were No.3446, C. chacoence, Gogoshari, and Yatsufusa in a descending order and a significant positive correlation, r=0.581, between WSD value and stomatal density was observed.

Community Type and Stand Structure of the Korean Pine(Pinus koraiensis) Natural Forest in Seoraksan National Park (설악산 국립공원 잣나무 천연림의 군락유형 및 임분구조)

  • This study was conducted to obtain the fundamental data for the ecological management in the Pinus koraiensis natural forest in Seoraksan National Park. The community types of the P. koraiensis forest were divided into Ainsliaea acerifolia group and Rhododendron schlippenbachii group. A. acerifolia group was subdivided into Acer tschonoskii var. rubripes subgroup and Calamagrostis arundinacea subgroup. The importance value of major species showed higher value in the order like Pinus koraienses, Abies nephrolepis, Acer barbinerve, Betula ermani, Acer pseudo-sieboldianum, Sorbus commixta and Quercus mongolica. The value of species diversify ranged from 0.44 to 0.86, and showed stronger competition in the interspecific association than in the intraspecific one. The number of individuals of P. koraiensis below 10 centimeters in the 15 study sites was 35, and it was considered that the population of P. koraiensis could be succeeded to the other species in the present situation because of lower frequency in the low layer though the canopy of tree layer was dominated with P. koraiensis. The radial growth patterns of P. koraiensis individuals were mainly fluctuated for the entire life time, which was considered to be caused by frequent disturbance.

Economic Evaluation Method Based on Rate of Return for Multiple Investment Alternatives (다수의 투자대안들에 대한 수익률 기준의 경제성 평가방법)

  • There are two methods for evaluating two or more mutually exclusive projects. One is a total investment approach and the other is an incremental investment approach. The former can rank projects by the criterion of the net present value, but the latter can't do it. An incremental investment approach is only possible when all pairwise alternatives are compared. Thus an incremental investment approach is superior in ranking them over an incremental investment approach. To do so, a principle of comparison must be established. Comparisons of profitability are reasonable when operating the same amount of investment over the same period of time. One principle is that all projects are invested in the largest of the projects. Another principle is that all projects are invested during the longest project life of the projects. In this paper, even if the principle is followed, it will be shown that the external rate of return fails to rank them. However, the productive rate of return criterion would prove to be able to rank them like the net present value standard, provided that the principle of comparison is kept. In addition, rate of returns can be assessed so that all mutually exclusive projects can be compared at once, such as on the criterion of the net present value. That is, it can be also compared with many other returns, such as the profit rates on financial investments or real investments.

  • The objective of Value Engineering (VE) is to derive the optimal value at the most efficient life cycle cost, comprising three stages: Pre-Study, Study, and Post-Study. In this study, we propose a method for information collection and analysis during planned site visit surveys in the preparation stage of VE. The 3D spatial model, created using a drone, facilitated observation and analysis of the study area from various angles, both from the center and the outside. Additionally, through the utilization of drones, we conducted on-site investigations of the research area's 3D spatial model, enabling a macroscopic perspective previously only feasible through a microscopic viewpoint during planned site visits in the pre-study phase. Furthermore, the utilization of actual spatial data obtained from observations allowed for real-time information verification during Design VE workshops, enhancing the efficiency and reliability of the VE project.

Deterministic Optimal Simulation of Spatial Growth Form for Urbanized Area Using CA Model and Simplified WSM-AHP Techniques (CA기법과 WSM-AHP 간편법을 이용한 도시확산의 결정론적 최적 모의)

  • This study aims to analyze the sensitivity of WSM(weighted scenario method)-AHP method according to variation of nonlinear exponent for accessibility criteria, which are used to make urbanization potential maps with the optimal weighting value for multiple criteria in grid-based GIS technique. Besides this study tried to develop WSM-AHP2 which is simplified by using rank of the potential value for each scenario. The two methods were applied to the test area, Suwon city located south area of Seoul, with time series land-use maps of 1986 and 1996. The evaluation system of urbanization potential have 7 criteria including 6 accessibility criteria. The results of WSM-AHP2, the optimal weighting values and their corresponding potential maps, have almost similar with those of WSM-AHP. In the application of CA(cellular automata) model for expansion of urbanized area using the three potential maps by WSM-AHP, WSM-AHP2, and specialists's AHP evaluation, it also showed that the accuracy of simulation for actual urban area is the highest in the potential map of WSM-AHP, followed by WSM-AHP2 and specialists's AHP evaluation. From the results of this study, WSM-AHP and simplified WSM-AHP2 will be used to generate the optimal potential maps for land-use planning in urban fringe area.

  • The author focus on the role of IMC(integrated marketing communication)that is important for increase of relationship equity value, stress on the integration of IMC and PR in relationship marketing. This paper present as follow. The first, marketing thought have evolved through market competition situation at a market segmentation level perspective, and the concept of relationship equity is necessary to individual marketing or relationship marketing. The second, firm should identify profitable customer, build strong relationship for relationship equity, based on customer equity and life time value in customer market. The third, IMC needs integration with PR for relationship building of stakeholder including customer market at a point of view of corporate equity. Finally, this article offer discussion about implications of integration IMC and PR for future study.

Classification of the Types of Rag Doll to the Development of Doll's Hanbok Patterns (인형의 한복패턴개발을 위한 봉제인형의 유형분류)

  • Hanbok of dolls can be a good medium that can given with value of traditional cultural products, however, it is not easy to see hanbok and its pattern from dolls. Especially for the case of rag doll which is closely related to the life of users, it has enough value as traditional cultural contents, however, there have been not sufficient studies on its pattern development and classification of form of dolls. Therefore, by classifying the body type of dolls by its pose, this study aims to provide a basic data for the development of hanbok pattern. This study looks into the origin and meaning of dolls and the definition and features of rag doll, then, it collected pictures and data rag dolls produced by 29 domestic companies. Through the data collected, the six different types of dolls, 'Sitting Style', 'Standing Style', 'Lying Style', 'Cushion Style', 'Quadruped Sitting Style', 'Quadruped Standing Style', were classified into form. In the future, I hope the result of this study can be used as useful data for toy manufactures and cultural business in relation to development of rag doll and at the same time as a basic data for development of hanbok pattern development of rag dolls as traditional cultural goods.

A Study on the Evaluation of an Option on a Reverse Mortgage (주택연금의 옵션가치 평가 연구)

  • We estimate the option value embedded in reverse mortgages using the framework of European put option. The reverse mortgage is a very useful financial product for senior citizens who own homes but do not have a cash income while it is a high risk one from lender's perspective. One of benefits of the reverse mortgages is that the debt limit is restricted to the scope of the disposition price of the collateralized house, which is considered a put option to borrowers. The put option is evaluated using Black-Scholes model and a sensitive analysis is performed on variables such as discount rate, volatility, and time period. We confirm that the option value of reverse mortgages increases rapidly as the borrowers live longer than their life expectancy. The results of this study can be used to promote the reverse mortgage program more effectively in order to solve the problem of income shortage of the elderly homeowners.

  • Traditional architectural space, which is a historical cultural heritage must be connected mutually as a organic flow of various elements such as the environment of the time, political background and values, rather than approaching with fragmentary point of view. The Silhak Philosophy, the basis of late Chosun society developed equity thoughts on the basis of ideology of humanism, and it asserted the promotion of technology and industry as a measure to realize the pursuit of truth which is practically useful. Thus, we could verify the possibility of convergent interpretation of cultural technology of Hwaseong architectural space through the humanistic viewpoint of pioneer spirit of Silhak Philosophy which regards human as a main agent of desire of life, and the pursuit of truth which is useful for reality, and the realization of ethical value by aesthetic practicalism. Based on this, the ontological meaning and value of Suwon Hwaseong by the viewpoint of convergence of culture and technology have been drawn as the construction of planned new town by the practice of filial duty, the plan of city space based on rational values, the realization of a metropolis where self-sufficient economic activities are possible, the introduction of thorough construction management system, the introduction of advanced culture and its creative application, and the application of scientifical knowledges and cutting-edge technology.

Ultra Thin Film Encapsulation of OLED on Plastic Substrate

  • Fabrications of barrier layer on a polyethersulfon (PES) film and OLED based on a plastic substrate by atomic layer deposition (ALD) have been carried out. Simultaneous deposition of 30 nm of $AlO_x$ film on both sides of PES film gave film MOCON value of 0.0615 g/$m^2$/day (@38$^{\circ}C$, 100 % R.H.). Moreover, the double layer of 200 urn $SiN_x$ film deposited by PECVD and 20 nm of $AlO_x$ film by ALD resulted in the MOCON value lower than the detection limit of MOCON. The OLED encapsulation performance of the double layer have been investigated using the OLED structure of ITO/MTDATA(20 nm)/NPD(40 nm)/AlQ(60 nm)/LiF(1 nm)/Al(75 nm) based on the plastic substrate. Preliminary life time to 91 % of initial luminance (1300 cd/$m^2$) was 260 hours for the OLED encapsulated with 100 nm of PECVD deposited $SiN_x$/30 nm of ALD deposited $AlO_x$.
