Purpose - In this study, we would like to analyze how the general characteristics of retired senior citizens affect directly the satisfaction of retirees' lives. As the life cycle continues to grow longer, post-retirement environment is recognized as important, and this study is conducted to analysis the factors that concerns which parts influence future retirement life. Research design, data, and methodology - First, Pearson's correlation analysis was conducted to analyze the correlation between the satisfaction of retirement life and the characteristics of the elderly. Secondly, a one-way analysis of variance was conducted to find out the difference in the satisfaction level of post-retirement life depending on the characteristics of the elderly. Results - First, the demographic factors for the satisfaction of retirement life have shown a definite difference. Second, the family factors for the satisfaction of retirement life have shown a clear difference. Third, financial factors for the satisfaction of retirement life have shown a clear difference. Conclusions - Early retirement, especially in major jobs, is the basis for incomplete retirement preparation, which is a factor in unstable later life. If a prospective retiree can retire in a predictable retirement age, it would be sufficient to prepare for retirement in various areas, or to prepare for further directions.
Previous research on the association between marriage and life satisfaction is limited due to the lack of attempts to investigate the time profiles of life satisfaction around marriage. This study addresses unresolved questions about the positive association between marriage and life satisfaction as well as tests if it is moderated by childhood parental divorce. Using 14 waves of the Korean Welfare Panel Study(N=3,890 individuals or 25,338 person-year observations), the author first used an ordinary least squares model with clustered standard errors and found that married people reported higher life satisfaction before marriage, compared to people who remained single during the survey. This result supports a social selection perspective. Next, the author used a fixed effects regression model and found that the transition into marriage was associated with an initial rise and subsequent decline in life satisfaction. Life satisfaction increased after reaching its lowest level in the third year of marriage. Life satisfaction after the transition into marriage was significantly higher than that observed three or more years prior to marriage. The result supports a social causation perspective. Such changing patterns were not moderated by parental divorce during childhood. This study advances the current literature on marriage and life satisfaction by using a nationally representative longitudinal data set as well as by testing social selection and causation perspectives.

The purpose of this study was to identify groups depending on the four years of changing trajectories in self-efficacy and its relationship with life satisfaction and interpersonal competence of adults with disabilities who were aged above 25. The 1st to 4th year of the second wave from Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled (PSED) was used to identify the groups and explore their relationship with life satisfaction and interpersonal competence through growth mixture modeling. The results identified three latent classes according to changing trajectories in self-efficacy: a 'high level-increasing group', an 'average level-increasing group', and a 'low level-stable group'. These three groups showed different characteristics in life satisfaction and interpersonal competence. For example, life satisfaction for groups decreased from the 'high level-increasing group' to the 'low level-stable group' and interpersonal competence increased in both 'high level-increasing group' and 'average level-increasing group', whereas it was stabilized in the 'low level-stable group'. These findings suggest that the life satisfaction and interpersonal competence of adults with disabilities are associated with their self-efficacy.

The last, the typology of marital satisfaction and marital stability differed by level of SES. In lower class, the marriage type of low satisfaction and low stability is more than other types. But in middle and upper class, the most marriage type is high satisfaction and high stability marriage.
The current study explores a possible mechanism through which game users' integrated sociopsychological factors lead to a higher level of life satisfaction, based on desire-fulfillment theory as well as hedonic and eudaimonic approaches to happiness. Using data from a survey of 789 game users in South Korea, we tested the relationships of psychological variables (self-esteem and game and life-efficacy), social variables (bonding and bridging social capital), and demographic variables (age and gender) with life satisfaction. Results show that self-esteem and game efficacy were an important antecedent to the degree of users' life satisfaction. Both bonding and bridging social capital increased life satisfaction. The importance of perspectives as well as their implications for game users and further associated research is explored.
This study explores the effects of rural migrant characteristics and conjugal communication on life satisfaction of baby boomer rural migrants. A total of 205 Korean baby boomers, who are living in rural areas in the year of 2013 that had migrated from cities back in 2003 with their families, were analyzed. Their age ranged from 49 to 57 years. The statistical methods used for data analysis were descriptive statistics, t-test, and hierarchical regression analysis, with SPSS Win 20.0 program. The results of this study are summarized as follows: the reasons these baby boomers chose a rural lifestyle were 'for life after retirement,' 'because rural life is good,' 'for health reasons,' and 'for chosen profession.' The level of conjugal communication (M=3.69) and life satisfaction (M=3.23) were higher than average (M=3.0). The variables influencing life satisfaction of baby boomer rural migrants were 'increased property size,' 'better conjugal communication,' 'better health condition,' 'lower levels of money,' and 'length of time spent farming.' Furthermore, in terms of life satisfaction, the relative contributions of these variables are as follows: general characteristics 20%, rural migrant characteristics 10%, and the level of conjugal communication 6%. These results show that conjugal communication is a very important variable, as well as a rural migrant characteristic when it comes to life satisfaction of these baby boomers. Therefore, to improve life satisfaction of baby boomer rural migrants, support programs need to focus on both farming and conjugal relationships.

The research method was a survey method using a questionnaire. Total of 674 women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s were tested, 309 of whom residing in the Seoul metropolitan area, with the remaining 365 residing in Gangweon-Do. The women with higher level of physical satisfaction had higher level of conformity, individuality, fashion, and interpersonal orientation of hairstyle. It also showed that the higher the level of socio-economic satisfaction meant greater preference for graceful hairstyle images. As well as the level of happiness correlated with the preference for feminine and sophisticated hairstyle images. The women who preferred long layered wave hairstyles liked feminine, natural, and sophisticated hairstyle images. The women in their late 40s had higher interpersonal orientation of hairstyle than those in their early 20s and 30s. Overall, a natural hairstyle image was favored the most, whereas a unique image was favored the least.

This study aims to find the causal relationship between the effects of apartment inhabitants' life management and administrative management on housing satisfaction. The study results are as follows. Firstly, life management showed to have a positive effect on life satisfaction. In other words, the better the management of public order and facilities, the higher the satisfaction of housing satisfaction. Thus, the principal agent of management needs to increase inhabitants' housing satisfaction through education and training on developing life management techniques. Secondly, administrative management showed to have a positive effect on life satisfaction. Thus, the more accurate the completion documents and management transfer process necessary for administrative management, the higher the cost-cutting effects of accounting, construction, and service contracts, the more transparent the resident agreement process in accordance with management policies, the more transparent the election process of building representatives and resident representatives, and the higher the effects of energy saving, the higher the housing satisfaction of inhabitants. This revealed that the principal agent of management needs to increase housing satisfaction through education and training on developing administrative management techniques because the level of administrative management had a positive effect on housing satisfaction. As a result, in order to create reliability between inhabitants and the principal agents of management, the transparency of administrative management such as document disclosure must be ensured, thus improving the housing satisfaction of inhabitants.
