본 연구는 미국의 공공도서관 과제지원서비스가 지역사회 청소년을 지원하는 도서관 프로그램으로서 갖는 의의를 고찰하고, 공공도서관 과제지원서비스의 운영 현황과 특성을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구에서는 문헌조사를 통해 미국 공공도서관 과제지원서비스의 사례와 동향을 살펴보고, 과제지원서비스를 제공하는 공공도서관을 대상으로 이메일 설문조사를 실시하여 과제지원서비스의 운영 현황 및 전반적인 특성을 조사 분석하였다. 본 조사에 참여한 도서관을 대상으로 이용자, 장서, 공간, 홍보 및 인적 자원의 측면에서 과제지원서비스의 현황과 특성을 분석하였다. 공공도서관 과제지원서비스의 운영 현황 및 특성에 대한 분석 결과는 과제지원센터의 계획 및 도입에 있어 서비스 방향 도출을 위한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있다.

21세기는 문화가 중심이 되는 시대라고 한다. 소득이 증가할수록 인간의 문화에 대한 관심은 삶의 질적 수준 향상과 문화욕구의 증대로 나타난다. 따라서 구성원들의 문화욕구 충족을 위한 도서관 서비스가 필요한 시점이라고 본다. 본 연구의 목적은 대학도서관의 문화행사를 실증적으로 분석 평가함으로써 보다 성공적인 도서관문화행사 개발전략을 위한 방안을 제시하여 대학도서관의 문화서비스 향상을 꾀하는데 있다. 구체적인 사례로서 S여대 도서관의 문화행사를 대상으로 분석 평가하였다. 평가의 초점은 1) 문화행사 전반에 대한 이용자들의 인식 2) 문화행사 내용(주제) 선정에 관한 만족도 3) 홍보방법에 대한 만족도 4) 운영형태에 대한 만족도 5) 이용자의 참여도 등 5가지 측면에 두었다. 그 분석결과를 토대로 향후 대학도서관의 문화행사 전략에 대한 구체적 방안을 제안하고자 한다.

본 연구에서는 전문사서 유형 중 최근 웰빙 및 건강에 대한 관심이 증가하면서 그 역할이 증대되고 있는 건강정보전문사서의 역할을 규명하고자 하였다. 즉 구인구직사이트 분석을 기반으로 건강정보전문사서가 갖추어야 할 학력, 경력, 수행할 직무 등을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 건강정보전문사서의 명칭은 매우 다양하게 나타나고 있으나 공공도서관에는 건강정보 전문사서, 병원도서관 및 의학도서관에는 의학전문사서의 명칭이 적합하다고 본다. 둘째, 건강정보전문사서는 석사 이상의 문헌정보학 교육 경력 및 학사 이상의 건강관련 교육 경력이 요구된다. 셋째, 적어도 2년 이상의 해당분야 경력이 요구되며 특히 건강정보서비스 경험이 요구된다. 넷째, 뛰어난 커뮤니케이션 능력 및 대인관계능력이 요구되며, 특히 건강관련 정보자원에 대한 높은 지식이 요구된다. 다섯째, 수행해야 할 주요 직무는 도서관운영업무, 교육업무, 연구업무, 정보자원의 접근과 공유업무, 장서관리 업무, 정보관리기술업무, 지지활동 등이 있다.

In the vibrant environment, documentation and managing systems are maintained autonomously through education foundations, book materials and libraries at the same time as information are not voluntarily accessible in a centralized location. At the moment Libraries are providing online resources and services for education activities. Moreover, libraries are applying outlets of social media such as Facebook as well as Instagrams to preview their services and procedures. Librarians with the assistance of promising tools and technology like analytics software are capable to accumulate more online information, analyse them for incorporating worth to their services. Thus Libraries can employ big data to construct enhanced decisions concerning collection developments, updating public spaces and tracking the purpose of library book materials. Big data is being produced due to library digitations and this has forced restrictions to academicians, researchers and policy creator's efforts in enhancing the quality and effectiveness. Accordingly, helping the library clients with research articles and book materials that are in line with the users interest is a big challenge and dispute based on Taibah university in Saudi Arabia. The issues of this domain brings the numerous sources of data from various institutions and sources into single place in real time which can be time consuming. The most important aim is to reduce the time that lapses among the authentic book reading and searching the specific study material.

사서직의 업무변화는 도서관패러다임의 변화와 직결된다. 이러한 변화를 자각하고, 신속히 업무에 반영하는 것은 사서직의 경쟁력과 직결된 문제이다. 본 연구에서는 도서관법과 기준, 담당부서 및 정책, 직무분석을 통하여 1970-80년대의 업무내용과 2000년대의 업무를 비교분석하였다. 결과 사서업무는 관리업무의 최소화, 이용자그룹의 다양화, 세분화에 맞추어 자료구비와 전문적 정보서비스를 마련하고 있다. 나아가 환경변화에 따른 디지털도서관업무의 급증에 대비하여 디지털 자료구비, 보존, 원격접근, 공용에 대한 업무가 증가하고 있다.

This article examines the accessibility and usability of library websites to students with visual and physical disabilities in public universities in Kenya. The study used survey research design and adopted a mixed methods approach. Data were gathered using survey questionnaire, focus group discussions, structured interviews, and observation. The study population consisted of six public universities that had a longstanding tradition of enrolling students with disabilities. Census was used to obtain a study sample comprising of students with visual disabilities (86), students with physical disabilities (91), University Librarians (6), Personnel from Disability Mainstreaming departments (6), Systems Librarians (6) and Library Personnel who provided information services to students with disabilities (133). The Social Model of Disability and IFLA Access to Libraries for Persons with Disabilities checklist were used as conceptual and theoretical framework in the study. Study results revealed that all the libraries had library websites. However, the websites did not have disability services page or information specific to individuals with disabilities. Also a section of students with disabilities lacked awareness of the existence of library websites and e-resources available through them. Additionally, the website design posed various access challenges. The study concluded that people with disabilities were excluded from access and use of library websites in public universities. The authors recommended that library websites must contain disability services page containing information specific to persons with disabilities. Moreover, libraries should evaluate their websites to ensure compliance with W3C requirements for web content accessibility. Additionally, libraries should develop disability policy to provide guidance on provision of information services to persons with disabilities.

As information technology has been evolving, digital library emerges as a vision of future library. Many authors on digital library describe that the problems that today's libraries face would be completely solved by using digital technology. But it is su n.0, pposed that such technology oriented papers do not take care of what the library has been and should remain. This paper is prepared to identify what core elements of library services being provided in traditional environment must be transferred to the digital library. For this purpose, firstly historical transition from traditional library to digital discussed. Secondly, library's fundamental service functions are analysed from three points of view-library as cultural and social institution, library as intellectual reality, library as a collection. And 'control zone' concept is also investigated as a new possibility of academic digital libraries. In contrast to open zone in which information is not controled at all as in internet, in control zone, information is selected and maintained by academic library community, retaining such essential library functions as selection.

학교도서관 봉사의 목적이 학교 교육을 위한 것이므로 학교 교육의 목적과 학교도서관의 궁극적인 목적은 동일한 것이다. 학교도서관은 항상 새롭고 보다 훌륭한 시설과 풍부한 정보자료를 개발하여야 하며 유능한 전문직 사서교사는 교육과정에 적절하고 합리적인 프로그램을 개발하여 봉사하여야 한다. 학교내외에서 야기되고 있는 저해 요인들로 실질적으로 유명 무실한 학교도서관을 보다 능률적이고 새롭게 개선할 필요가 있다. 초등학교 학생에게 직접적인 영향을 주는 교사들이 학교도서관에 대한 적절한 인식과 기대를 가지고 있다면 교사와 학생들이 학교도서관을 보다 적극적으로 이용하고 활성화시키는 초석이 될 것으로 간주된다. 본 연구에서는 학교도서관의 봉사에 대한 초등학교 교사들의 인식과 기대를 파악하여 향후 초등학교 도서관이 진정한 교수학습의 장으로 활용되도록 하는 제 방향을 찾아보았다. 본 연구에서는 학교도서관 사서의 역할을 개관하고 이에 대한 초등학교 일반 교사들의 인식과 기대에 대한 수준을 측정한 후 이에 따라 활성화 방안을 제시하였다. 조사결과 학교도서관에 대한 중요도, 사서교사의 배치 필요성, 다양한 봉사에 대한 기대, 학교도서관 이용교육수강에 대한 윤곽 등을 강력히 주장하고 있다.

본 연구는 도서관에서 근무하는 사서의 팟캐스트와 유튜브 서비스의 개발과 제공에 대한 인식을 조사하기 위해 수행되었다. 확장된 기술수용모델을 적용하여 연구를 설계하였으며, 도서관 팟캐스트나 유튜브 서비스에 대한 사서의 개인적, 조직적, 사회적 인식과 이용자에 대한 이해의 정도가 서비스에 대한 유용성이나 용이성에 대한 인식을 매개로 서비스 제공 의도나 제공 행위에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지 알아보았다. 우선 국내 팟캐스트나 유튜브 서비스를 제공하고 있는 39개의 도서관에서 제공하고 있는 서비스의 유형을 조사하였고, 총 181명의 사서를 대상으로 온라인 설문 방법을 이용하여 데이터를 수집하고 위계적 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 도서관에서는 주로 도서관 행사 안내/홍보, 도서관 체험 프로그램, 도서 추천, 저자(사서) 강연과 북 토크 등에 팟캐스트와 유튜브를 미디어의 특성에 따라 적절히 활용하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 사서들은 개인적 특성보다는 조직적 혹은 사회적 특성, 즉 도서관의 교육지원, 인력지원, 사서 인식, 직무 특성, 이용자 인식이나 요구에 대한 이해가 도서관 서비스 제공 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 밝혀졌다. 또한 팟캐스트와 유튜브 서비스를 제공하고 있는 도서관의 사서들과 제공하고 있지 않은 사서들 간에 서비스들에 대한 인지된 유용성과 용이성에 차이가 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 도서관에서 팟캐스트나 유튜브 서비스 콘텐츠 개발이나 제공에 있어 사서 지원의 다양한 관점을 이해하고 지원하는 기초자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

공공도서관에서 전자정보 서비스를 시작된 지 10여년이 지났지만 효율적인 서비스 운영을 위한 전문성 부족과 저작권 문제의 제약으로 활용 면에서 두드러진 성과를 얻지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 국내외 협력형 전자정보 서비스 운영 사례와 경기도 및 경기도 내 31개 시군의 도서관 전자정보 서비스 현황 분석을 통해 광역자치단체 차원의 지역 내 공공도서관 간 상호 협력형 서비스 모델을 개발하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 협력형 전자정보 서비스를 운영하고 있는 국내외 기관의 웹서비스 현황을 파악하고, 설문 조사를 통해 경기도 내 시군 기관별 전자정보 서비스 현황을 조사하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 성공적인 협력형 정보서비스 모델 구현을 위한 기능요건으로 소장 전자정보 통합검색, 웹DB, 지역 기록물 원문DB, 온라인 참고봉사, 모바일 플랫폼 지원을 제시하고 시스템 관리 체계는 참여기관의 독립적 특성을 고려하여 집중형과 분산형 모델의 장점을 결합한 절충형 모델을 제안하였다.
